At Sable’s Smoked Fish, the highlight is undeniably the exquisite lineup of smoked salmon, sturgeon, and caviar in an inviting Upper East Side deli.
"Deli specialties available for delivery and takeout - call or order through their website" - hannah albertine, nikko duren, bryan kim, arden shore, matt tervooren
"Sable’s, a classic UES deli that specializes in smoked fish, is offering pickup and delivery starting at 8:30am daily. And just in case a brunch spread of caviar, smoked salmon, lobster salad, bagels, babka, and sturgeon within NYC isn’t enough, they also ship nationwide. Order online or call 212-249-6177 to order." - nikko duren
"Beloved Jewish deli Sable’s Smoked Fish has reopened at its new home on East 76th Street. The deli was forced to leave its original, longtime home on Second Avenue in July when the building it was housed in was sold to make way for a residential development." - Eater Staff
"Compared to its west side counterpart, the UES has very few places to get proper smoked fish. Sable’s, a deli that’s been around since the early 90’s, is really the only respectable place to go in the neighborhood. It has all the classic features of a great deli - pastrami crusted salmon, tubs of white fish, shelves of cookies, and walls plastered in photographs of their most loyal customers. You won’t find softer nova in the neighborhood, so use this place the next time you’re having people over for brunch or whenever you’re in the mood for an excellent bagel sandwich." - Hannah Albertine
"This narrow UES shop lined with photos of regulars was opened by Danny and Kenny Sze, who spent 12 years as managers of the appetizing department at Zabar’s before opening Sable’s. Highlights include smoked salmon, sturgeon, caviar, and the shop’s namesake, sable; the lobster salad, verboten at traditional Kosher appetizing stores, is also a popular pick here. Sable’s can be on the pricy end, but its sandwiches are stuffed with a respectable wad of fish." - Alexandra Ilyashov
