Google
Best Ice Cream in Victoria hands down. Homemade, and super friendly staff. The pistachio was great, but the other flavors are good too. Did I mention made in house? Super good! There is a really good coffee spot as well just two shops down....we turned our pistachio into an affogato:) The coffee place is called Mile zero

Google
Homemade ice cream that we thoroughly enjoyed. We especially enjoyed the carrot cake flavor but all the other ones were great too. Would recommend!

Oh my goodness, this place is wonderful. It's a shame it's hidden away a bit, but from what I could see, it wasn't hurting business! I had their ice cream and cookie combo, which is perfect for me as these are two of my favourite things. It was delicious, the cookie was nice and crispy, and the chocolate truffle ice cream was divine. My favourite thing about Parachute was that you could watch them make their own waffles cones from scratch.

Google
I was excited to try Parachute Ice Cream, but it was a bit disappointing. The flavors weren’t special, and there was nowhere to sit. It just didn’t feel like anything unique. I probably wouldn’t go back

Google
The "cookie & ice cream" combo is an absolute calorie bomb, but believe me, it's so worth it, pure indulgence and amazingly delicious! The ice cream is creamy, and the cookie adds the perfect crunch. Unique flavours and friendly staff make every visit a treat. Must try!

Google
Best ice cream in Victoria hands down. I’m a local and come here often to eat it. The ice cream texture is divine and the flavour choices are always phenomenal. There’s always vegan options available if you are looking for a lactose free option. Birthday cake ice cream and brown butter brownie are my top two favourites.

Google
Absolutely delicious — you all need to try this place! If you’re a fan of carrot cake, don’t miss out. Their carrot cake is seriously amazing!

Came here for dessert after dinner on a cooler Friday night in October but there were still a steady stream of customers. A little out of the way but it was a cute ice cream stop with knowledgeable staff. Tried a few flavours but ultimately settled on lemon which is their bestseller. Also did a split scoop for $6.50 so was also able to add a chocolate scoop but I loved the half scoops because they were half but still generous! If available I would have liked the try the pistachio. Not a lot of independent ice cream places like this in Victoria so this was a nice find!

Yelp
A must while visiting Victoria! This cute little shop sells pints, cones or cups with a variety of regular and seasonal flavours. Even my parents who are very smart with their money and generally do not indulge in treats know and visit this place!

Yelp
I always have to get ice cream when I visit a different city and we decided to try out parachute since they seemed to have unique flavours. Serving up in house made ice cream in cups or cones, this tiny shop seems to be in the middle of nowhere but the line was consistent. Our order consisted of: - Single 2 flavour (lemon creme and oatmeal chocolate chip) - Single scoop (chocolate truffle) - Single 2 flavour (peanut butter cup and vanilla) My order was the oatmeal chocolate chip and I really liked the swirl of cookie dough in the sweet cream base. Their ice cream isnt too sweet and quite creamy but not overly heavy. They are generous with the scoops and even allow for samples although this makes the line move quite slowly. Overall, a good choice for ice cream but they need a few more people working at a time and their flavours werent as unique as I had hoped.

Yelp
Always stop into Parachute Ice Cream when we're in town for a visit. 12 flavours available (four being gluten free). You can sample a few flavours before deciding. Shared a double scoop ($8.00) on a GF cone ($0.50). Scoops are still generous. For our two flavours, we went with the peach passionfruit sorbet (more peach) and blueberry orange sorbet (more blueberry). Tasty and you can taste the real fruit in both flavours. Texture is a touch soft and falls apart easily - watch out for that. Would forgo the gluten free cone next time.

Ricky Y.

Yelp
Very big scoops of ice cream! There's the option to get a single scoop with split flavors. One scoop here is probably 2-3 scoops elsewhere. I had the chocolate truffle and dark chocolate mint. Both were decent.

Julie S.

Yelp
I could tell just from the smells it was going to be good. There was a wide variety of flavors with some unique and the basics. I opted for the cookie dough and it was stellar, smooth and creamy with the perfect amount of doughy chunks. It's a little outside of the downtown area, but worth the drive or taxi ride.

Kayla P.

Yelp
Fantastic ice cream and even tastier hand rolled cones. The cones were made with a fold on the bottom so they wouldn't drip as you ate them. The scoops I got were very generous. They even had vegan and gluten free options. I would consider this a must-try if you're looking for ice cream in Victoria.

Kris C.

Yelp
The ice cream was great but not much of an ambiance. I really enjoyed the flavours I got

Liya W.

Yelp
Excellent ice cream that comes with homemade waffle cone without extra charge. I had a single split flavor with maple walnut and chocolate truffle. We will come back again soon. It is in an industrial area but it is worth the extra effort to get there. Lemon cream was my son's choice and he loved it too

Ben S.

Yelp
Had the craving for ice cream in the late afternoon and Parachute popped up. We swung by their location which is well off the beaten path. Grabbed two of their summer seasonal flavors and I had mine in a waffle cone, as is my usual. Everything was good, unfortunately we had to enjoy it out on the street as there was no seating inside or out. Location left something to be desired - it's where they make all their ice cream so had a bit of an industrial / factory vibe.

Lisa M.

Yelp
This place is in an odd industrial location and as a tourist, I never would have found it if I hadn't searched on Yelp for ice cream, as I always do. Wow, am I grateful for Yelp. The store atmosphere feels more like a place you'd go to buy drugs, but the staff is nice and the ice cream is top notch. They have only about a dozen flavors, some of which are vegan. I had the Maple Walnut and it was excellent! Super creamy texture, lots of nuts and abundant maple flavor. I had it in a waffle cone and that was also yummy. They sell pints to go and I saw on the sign that they make ice cream cakes. No place to sit inside but they have a few seats outside, nothing formal. 2 more days in Victoria and you can bet I'll be back!

Yelp
After dim sum, we decided to hit up Parachute Ice Cream for dessert. It's located kitty corner to Hoyne Brewery. We actually ended up coming a second time when we were in the area again. The inside is small, bright and cute. There's a dozen flavours available but they change constantly. We sampled lychee black tea, cinnamon bun and lemon cream first time round. Second time, they'd already changed flavours so we tried happy grapefruit, lavender truffle, blackberry crumble and whiskey hazelnut. All their ice creams are made in house. Even got to watch one of the co-workers make fresh waffle cones. The menu is small but prices are incredibly reasonable. Pints ($9.00), one scoop ($4.50) and two scoop ($7.00); it's a bit extra if you want their water buffalo ice cream. - Water buffalo lemon cream ($11.00 pint) - we took our pint to go. Never had water buffalo before but it's made with grass-fed buffalo milk! If you save your pint and bring it back, you'll save a $1.00. Lemon cream was smooth, creamy and tasted just like lemon curd. - Dark mint chocolate and london fog ($7.00 double scoop) - love how the waffle cones are included in the price. They also STACK your cone up. Portion size is very generous. The dark mint chocolate was amazing. There was REAL bits of mint in it; so fresh and minty. The london fog was just as good; real london fog flavour. Definitely would try a few more flavours that were only in pint format (like the passionfruit!). Highly recommend!

Yelp
My mother-in-law says this is the best ice cream she's ever had! "The jars are so cute and the ice cream is so yummy."

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Worth the trip, very delicious and generous portions! A grab and go detonation in a industrial area of town, but as mentioned worth the trip!

Natalie T.

Yelp
I heard about this place through IG and have been wanting to pay a visit for some time now, except I always missed them due to their early closing time (in comparison to Vancouver). I was greeted by a smiling employee who let me try a bunch of samples before settling on a 1 scoop-2 flavours: jasmine vanilla and the passionfruit. That passion fruit flavour...so delicious! They ran out of their waffle cones so I went with the cup. This place serves some serious ice cream. If you appreciate good quality, rich and creamy ice cream, this is the place for you. I would go as far as stating this place is on par with my favourite ice cream place in Vancouver-Earnest ice cream. Cold comfort may have more adventurous flavours and has more vegan friendly flavours...but parachute out shines them in taste and portion size. There is ample street parking and they have pints in glass jars, which is the way to do it. If I lived on the island, this would be my ice cream place of choice!

Elana J S.

Yelp
Came for milkshakes on a recommendation. Very disappointed. Little perceptible flavour, Runny not thick. I had blueberry; my partner, chocolate, we both noted lack of flavour. I doubt we'll return for shakes.

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Best ice cream I have had ever! Interesting flavors and so very creamy. Lemon was my favorite, but also like brown sugar vanilla. Went back next day to purchase some in a jar for our freezer!

Nhan D.

Yelp
The only place I come for Ice cream in Victoria because they have the best corn ever. I wanted to give them 5 stars review but they disappointed me twice. One time I came when they just opened. The corn wasn't crispy like it was left out from the day before. The other time was international ice cream day, they were super busy. I got my ice cream but the corn wasn't their house corn and that upset me so much :( If they run out of their house corns, they should have told customers about it

Molly C.

Yelp
This ice cream is phenomenal! Super delicious and creative flavors. The people working there are thoughtful and helpful. It's a small space, but cozy and fun. Highly recommend enjoying some yumminess here.

Liana B.

Yelp
Absolutely the best ice cream by far. Competitors are trying to stand out, but Parachute is what you're after. I've always had a good experience, and prices are fair. Love the different range of flavours every time, the different choices, and the pint fridge. The open hours are fine. Not worried about the bathroom issue either. People will find anything to complain about, especially on Yelp. Parachute is doing a wonderful job. Keep it up!

Alec W.

Yelp
Top notch ice cream and friendly service. We found out about this place by seeing their pints in a local grocery store. The flavors cycle throughout the day if something runs out, so expect to see some new flavors from day to day. The only downside being, your favorite flavor might not be available. As a personal preference, I like ice cream with textural components and Parachute delivered. Most of their flavors had some texture with chocolate flakes, brownie bites, or cookie chunks. I got the brown butter brownie and loved it. The single scoops are generious and include a waffle cone. Prices were $4.50 for a single scoops and $7 for a double scoop. A single scoop could easily be shared and they will do half and half for .50 extra if you just can't decide. I will be coming back!

Scott M.

Yelp
Great little ice cream shop. Outside the downtown tourist area. Was worth the short drive. All homemade including the cones. Yummy treat.

Marisa S.

Yelp
Caveat to parents: there is no washroom here. So when your toddler announces that they have to go potty, you'll find yourself scrambling while your really awesome ice cream melts down to nothing in the middle of a tantrum/pants-peeing incident. One of the employees advised me to go to the coffee shop next door. They were closed, so I ran, carrying kid, with melting ice cream trailing behind us, down the street. Hoyne and every other business nearby was closed on Sunday. Their ice cream is wonderful, but sadly, after this experience, we won't be back.

Ryan E.

Yelp
I highly recommend this hole in the wall ice cream shop. Best ice cream I've ever had. Very friendly and helpful staff, ready to provide you with recommendations on what flavour to get. Everything is made in-house. #supportlocalbusiness

Josh V.

Yelp
I agree completely with Kimberly. The ice cream definitely isn't bad, especially when considering the selection (or lack thereof) in Victoria, but it's never open at a time that's convenient. There are so many times that my friends and I would have went here after dinner, but since they close before typical dessert-eating time, we've ended up at Cold Comfort of Flavoris. Shame really.

Charlie G.

Yelp
pretty tasty ice cream. on our second occasion we asked if there was a "kids size" as i couldn't remember what we ordered last time and was told there was. as there were two adults and two children i ordered four "kids size" but was told that you had to be a child to order a kids size? i ordered four "kids size" anyways and got rude service after that.

Huey L.

Yelp
Great ice cream, went when there was no line on Labour Day, but as we left a big crowd formed. Few seats, but there's plenty of space to enjoy the ice cream outside. Great vegan options for my lactose intolerant friends as well!

Heather B.

Yelp
I decided to check out this spot after reading about them in the Yam magazine ( the Victoria version of Avenue). Just reading about their unique flavours and the look of the yummy scoops had me grabbing a map to track this place down. So the next day I had my father drive us there for an afternoon treat. Parking can be an issue based on street availability but it's worth little walk if you can't get close. It's pretty much across the street from Hoyne Brewing. Even before we got inside I could smell the aroma of waffle cones being made. Our plan was to each get a cone then take a pint home to my mom. All 12 flavours looked good and I was dying to try a few. The honey lavender peeked my interest first. I know lavender in edible items can be overpowering but it's subtle flavour with the honey was well balanced. Well other costumers were being served I tried to narrow down my choice. They had a couple of vegan choices and it took me a few minutes to figure out what they replaced the dairy with. OMG duh they use coconut milk hence the toasted coconut and chocolate brownie flavour. My love for coconut won and I went for the two scoops so I added the honey lavender. Dad had a scoop of passion fruit and chocolate truffle. Two scoops is an extremely huge serving for $7. One scoop is $4 or one scoop two flavours is $5. We took a pint ($9) of the coconut brownie home. If you clean the jar and bring it back you will get a $1 off your next pint. So seek this place out for delicious dairy ( and non dairy). They also are in the Victoria Public Market downtown at the Pie Company where I found out was where Parachute originated. So I got one more scoop (Driftwood Beerscream has me wanting to make my own) in before I flew home. I can't wait to taste more of Parachutes creations next time I'm in Victoria.

Calley M.

Yelp
Absolutely love the fun and interesting flavours they have! The ice cream itself is super creamy and thick but not too rich. Definitely some of the best ice cream in Vic

Cathy T.

Yelp
The London fog is exceptional! It's not too sweet at all and the flavour of the tea is well captured, very fragrant. If you are a tea lover, you'll definitely want to try this!

Nadine B.

Yelp
Omg yum!!!!!! Right now, Victoria Pie Co has a freezer of their ice cream and immediately when I saw they had a London Fog flavor I had to have it! It's essentially an Earl Grey Tea flavor! So delicious, unfortunately I got a kid size and now I wish I got the big one .

C. V.

Yelp
Had to visit this place once our friends told us about it. Delicious!!! Yes you can try samples first, which we did. I had the Vegan Coconut (yes there is at least 4 different Vegan options) and my partner had the Bourbon Vanilla something which he said was yummy. We have been back a few more times and every time the employees have been friendly. There is parking right out front and evidently around the back, but we have always found a spot in front. I just wish they were open a little bit later.
