We didn’t expected to visit this museum during our trip, but we did get to see it! Completely worth the visit. It has a lot of beautiful of modern and contemporary art, sculptures and paintings. Restrooms are clean, many spaces to seat, souvenirs store and more. Despite it was a weekend, and many people were around, you have enough space to see everything.

Interesting museum. Amazing architecture, lovely shops with lot of design stuff. Talking about the exhibitions it depends what’s going on. One of the few museums of Seoul open on Monday!

The museum and palace was busy because it was free for Lunar New Year and it was very cold out. The exhibit had some Chinese artwork as well. The layout of the museum was well organized. I recommend stopping by the museum while you are visiting Deoksugung. It is right by the City Hall station, so it's easy to find.

We didn’t plan on visiting this museum during our trip, but we stumbled upon it during our visit to the Deoksugung Palace. It has a lot of interesting art and gorgeous embroidery pieces in the museum and I definitely think it is worth visiting. You also learn a lot about the history of traditional art in South Korea. I think this museum is definitely worth visiting, since you can visit the palace at the same time.

Very impressive exhibits. Only problem, there is hardly any English explanation of individual items. A real shame.

Cute and interesting museum with the history of the embroidery tradition from ancient times till nowadays. The museum is small, but very well organized. The art pieces are so unique that they look like good painting from a distance, however as you approach the art pieces you can recognize the single stitches that are made so precisely and accurately that there is no limit for admiration. The entrance is free. You can take pictures, videos are not allowed. I would recommend to visit during the week, on weekends can be overcrowded. After the museum you can sit in the stairs and enjoy a beautiful view on the magnificent architecture of the ancient temples and of the modern skyscrapers.

The largest and most important museum in Seoul, and likely in South Korea, is the National Museum of Korea. It first opened in 1945, the same year Korea gained independence from Japan. Since then, the museum has moved locations several times before settling into its current home in 2005. This immense museum houses approximately 220,000 archaeological relics and works of art, with around 13,000 pieces displayed to the public at any given time.
