"Located a little while outside of Oslo, the Henie Onstad Kunstsenter is worth the trip for its design and its art collection. The latest addition to the Henie Onstad collection is a Yayoi Kusama infinity room titled Hymn of Life that will be on display for an indefinite period. As well as the main art space, the Henie Onstad Kunstsenter also features a restaurant and a store selling curated Norwegian and Nordic designs."

I had the 72 Oslo Pass so I got in free. I'm a massive Kusuma fan, hence, my visit. Had the room to myself. There's a Jean Arp in the upstairs collection and a Sonja Henie room, too. Yes, bus stop is on the motorway. It wasn't an issue.

I really love the public hub where ppl can create their paintings and get some inspiration. Wish they sell the postcard of the pumpkin!

Nice art center that is a short drive from Oslo City Center. Best known works are probably the Yayoi Kusama pumpkin and light installation. The temporary exhibition that we saw when we visited was also very good.

Our visit to the museum was incredibly fortunate. When we arrived, there were very few people around. Even more amazingly, they still had Yayoi Kusama's work on display, particularly the "Infinity Mirror Room," where we found ourselves alone with the mesmerizing lights and reflections. Typically, museums limit visitors to 15 minutes per room, and there are usually 2-4 more visitors in each space. However, on this occasion, it felt like a private viewing, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the art. It was an unforgettable and privileged experience.

Easily accessible from Oslo (20ish minutes bus ride), and definitely worth a trip! Beautiful location, with a vast sculpture park along the sea coast. The building itself is an architectural gem, and the collection will not disappoint either. Probably the best museum / gallery experience in (near) Oslo.

Attractive building in very lovely place, surrounded by interesting sculptures. Various exhibitions inside, unfortunately with few typos on labels... Flux exhibition upstairs - a must see!

Great exibition with Yayoi Kusama and her Hymn of Life. The usage of mirrors and light creates a magnificent atmosphere where you floats in eternity. The art center has many other exhibitions that changes through the years. Well worth a visit.

Same lovely eats and coffee in the restaurant and high class gifts in the museum shop. New exciting exhibition in HOK in autumn 2024 - Alia Farid. There‘s a new light installation just outside, ready for the darker evenings.
