"Whether you choose the wine bar in the basement, the gourmet food hall on the ground floor (where you can also buy hot food to eat in the wine bar), or the fine dining restaurant in a big, bright open space on the first floor, you won’t be disappointed with the quality of food in this Exchequer Street emporium, much of which is organic. Main courses on the menu include dishes like grilled Irish lamb rump with broad bean succotash, black garlic and aubergine purée and smoked potato croquette, or aged Irish rib-eye steak with a choice of Béarnaise, brandy peppercorn or truffle butter sauce. There’s also an excellent lunch menu and the pre-theater dinner menu is good value and runs all night Sunday to Tuesday and from 5.30 to 7pm, Wednesday to Saturday."

Fantastic spot! Amazing wine selection with just €1 corkage. Delicious Neapolitan pizzas, brilliant desserts, and great cheese boards for wine tasting. The service was exceptional—special thanks to the French waiter and manager who made us feel right at home. A must-visit in Dublin!

Sat downstairs in the wine cellar atmosphere. Pasta and pizza was so good we went back the next night. Love the $1 corkage fee and ability to browse their extensive wine supply from the shelves. Just grab the bottle you choose, and bring it to your table for opening.

My husband and I visited The Wine Cellar last night to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary, and it was one of the most attentive & authentic meals we've had in ages. From the very first moment, Des looked after us with such sincerity and kindness. We both travel for work and dine out regularly, and trust me when I say the warmth of Des and his team is truly world-class. My husband is Italian, and we both loved our food. We tried the truffle arancini which were delightful, the bolognese which was perfectly balanced, and the coppa which was melt-in-your-mouth tender with the most incredible rich marsala sauce. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu and agreed it was the best one we'd ever had - ever! Compliments to the chef! Another bonus is the amazing €1 corkage deal on Sun-Tues, where you can select a bottle from their extensive selection on the shelves. We were really impressed by some of the labels and vintages on offer. We will absolutely be back again, and will be highly recommending The Wine Cellar to our family and friends for a relaxing evening and perfect atmosphere. Thanks again to Des and the team for making our evening so lovely!

Nice place for a cute dinner or a glass of wine and some food! There is a food hall upstairs and the wine cellar downstairs. Staff is kind and helpful as well.

Fallon & Byrne Wine Bar – Pizza, Prosecco & Pure Vibes Stumbled into the wine bar at Fallon & Byrne like we meant to be fancy — but ended up having the chillest, tastiest evening. First things first: The Spice Devil pizza is a fiery little legend. Crispy base, spicy kick, and totally addictive. If you like your pizza with attitude, this one's your soulmate. We washed it down with a glass (okay, maybe two) of bubbly Prosecco — light, fizzy, and just what you need to cool the flames of that devil pizza. The chunky potatoes? Absolute units. Crispy golden edges, fluffy insides, and dangerously snackable. And those house-mixed olives came through with big flavour energy — salty, herby, and basically a Mediterranean vacation in a bowl. The vibe? Warm lighting, shelves stacked with wine, and that perfect hum of clinking glasses and happy chatter. 10/10 would recommend for date night, friend catch-ups, or treating yourself just because you can.

We stopped at The Wine a cellar at Fallon & Byrne for a quick bite during a great walking food tour of Dublin. Order the “the works” cheese and charcuterie board (with Irish free range chicken liver pate, cheese, charcuterie, accompaniments and a baguette). The cheese and charcuterie were very tasty local options, and the pate was great. The baguette was underwhelming considering all of the other great bread options available. We shared a mortadella panuozzo pizza (pistachio pesto, mortadella and stracciatella) and it was absolutely fantastic. We also tried a few glasses of wine by the glass. Great stop for good quality uncomplicated food options.

A million thanks to Dee & the entire team at Fallon & Byrne for making our family occasion this week so special. The venue has such a lovely vibe, the food was delicious & the team were so helpful from start to finish. Also love the buzz of its city centre location. Well done team & thank you.

I went with my niece who lives in Dublin to Fallon & Byrne as she needed to buy some panettone and also, she wanted to show me around and I absolutely loved it. The place has a little bit of everything, fruits, different kind of cookies, breads, desserts, cheeses, wines, traditional Irish foods and a selection of foods from other countries as well. Everything is very well organized and makes you want to buy everything! As I went in November 2023, they also had wonderful options for Christmas, I even bought some traditional Irish cakes to bring home. They also have an area to eat something quick, like sandwiches, and a restaurant, which I will definitely have to go back to try it next time I am visiting Dublin. Actually, for anyone visiting Dublin, this place is well worth visiting to see the options of traditional Irish products they have, and it is right in the center of Dublin.

Yelp
I'd probably give it 4.5. I had the house smoked salmon as a starter, it was fantastic. Not too strong but also a very nice flavor, excellent pieces of salmon and the accompanying salmon mouse was also excellent. Followed with the duck breast, also done very well, good sized portion. The mixed greens side also was nice, I liked the dressing. My only drawback was I was originally the only diner (about 12:30 for lunch), which was a little off putting, probably due to the quite formal nature of the restaurant.

Nora M.

Yelp
This place is like one of my favorite places here The store itself has unique species of fruits, vegetables and mushrooms. The bakery has nice items as well. They have a cute cafe on the ground floor. They also have high end cold cuts (deli meat) , a verity of cheese and Foie Gras for your charcuterie board at the back On the top floor they have a restaurant and at the bottom floor (basement) they have a wine cellar With great fresh pizza's, charcuterie board options, freshly made pasta options and other mini bite. Super good! For the wine cellar, Price varies depending on drinks if you order any, but food wise it's around €70-100 for 2 people. This would include the almost €30 for the highest charcuterie board, two main dishes, pasta, one pizza, salad and dessert. Definitely a nice and relaxing experience when visiting Dublin, definitely recommended

Yelp
Well...four stars is a bit generous but it's sooo close to earning it. The space is fantastic. The muzac horrible and soul crushing . Service was rushed for this price point. Duck overcooked but somehow still favorable. Vegetables cooked perfectly which was a surprise given the medium-well duck breast. I'd recommend but also suggest you adopt a high-maintenance approach to ordering to get your temp right. Location is also a positive. Building is fantastic!

Yelp
The food was top rate and the service was wonderful. The ambiance was great but it does get noisy and conversation was difficult every now and then. But it was one of the best restaurants I visited in Dublin. Plus the market upstairs is phenomenal. Worth a visit!!

Jason S.

Yelp
Really lovely dinner experience here, a super affordable yet enticing menu with lots of great pasta options especially. Get some olives, a pasta, and the tiramisu and you'll leave a happy guest. The pasta was nicely prepared, the flavor not as deeply mushroom as I would've liked so the bites without mushrooms felt a bit lacking. Seems like a hard place not to enjoy.

David F.

Yelp
Oh dear. The service is still pretty good, the venue as attractive and elegant as ever but the food simply doesn't match the overall vibe. Surprised to see it wasn't full but, after our underwhelming experience, maybe I shouldn't have been. My steak was just meh, not particularly huge, not particularly small, a bit more done than the medium rare I'd ordered but edible nonetheless. My companion had chicken which looked pretty miserable and poorly presented like the chicken had simply surrendered itself to its grisly fate and lay sadly on the plate. Much to the surprise of the server, we ordered an extra portion of chips. Based on his reaction I expected a veritable mountain of goodness. They were good, in fairness, but almost countable in the inevitable tiny buckets that restaurants seem to think attractive. The cocktails were pretty good and the wine was perfectly chilled so there's that. Overall, an over-expensive meal for what we got. Should have been two stars but I've given it a third for old time's sake. Disappointing.

Monica K.

Yelp
Good food and wine selection. Super friendly staff. Zach was full of good advice on food and wine! We grabbed a Spanish red, Matsu "El Picaro", and some cheese and olives for an easy dinner in.

Sam L.

Yelp
Hidden for sure. Ground floor is a normal market, right on the thick of town, but downstairs has a very lowkey wine bar. I wanted a recharge break after being out & about all day and this was it - glass of wine + arancini. Food was just ok but the ambiance and wine were both worth stopping in

Tami F.

Yelp
Interesting basement wine bar/restaurant. Great wine selection. Service was lacking but we didn't let that detract from our enjoyment. Tasty pasta.

Charles H.

Yelp
What a gem. We ordered the "Works" charcuterie board. It was fantastic. Nice change from pubs. Love a great glass of wine. Lots to options for wine. Great staff that took care of us. Our board ran out of bread and they were quick to bring is more. When you need a break from a pub, you should come to F&B.

Yelp
The spot to buy authentic soda bread!!! Cheeky funny foodie heaven! Fallon & Byrne, how I love your store! It honestly puts Whole Foods to shame with the careful curation of local food items. And yes, prices might be a bit expensive but the produce section looked so edible and it smelt like fresh spring vegetables! The variety of breads - with Dulce and also Soda bread was another winner. I can see why this store consistently keeps winning green grocer of the year awards - seeing the butcher in action was a work of art. I found so many good foodstuffs I would have liked to purchase that I really had to be judicious with my purchases. However if you are looking for a place to purchase Soda Bread, then this is definitely it! Highly recommended. Yelp 97 / 2019

Yelp
Awesome stop in Dublin! Great food, service and ambiance in the wine bar. Our party of 8 was treated to the works and we all enjoyed it immensely. Won't visit Dublin again without stopping in to Fallon & Byrne.

Yelp
Visited on Sunday 25 February 2018, for an evening meal. Fallon & Byrne restaurant appealed to everyone because it offers a range of menus including vegan. We had a quick walk around their food hall (no time to check out the wine cellar unfortunately) and made our way upstairs. From their Vegan Friendly Menu I selected: Starter: roasted butternut squash & kale salad with red onion, toasted seeds, quinoa & avocado purée. Main: asparagus & aubergine layered with slow roast tomatoes, mixed leaf & balsamic. Dessert: rhubarb & pear crumble with raspberry sorbet. Service was good, ingredients seasonal, flavours balanced and wine excellent. If I was to fault anything, it's that perhaps my starter could have been a bit more substantial and a couple of people in our party ordered Roasted Globe of Artichoke mains but found the artichoke a bit tough and chewy. Ultimately though Fallon & Byrne is a beautiful, elegant, restaurant and fine dining experience. We had a lovely, relaxing evening.

Gray D.

Yelp
Enjoyed visiting the wine cellar and restaurant. Both were nice service pleasant and nice. Wine a tad underwhelming. Ambiance in the cellar was very nice. Restaurant ambiance a bit noisy just ok. The chicken dish very nice recommend. The rib eye so not up to par I'd avoid. Table next to me agreed and sent their rib eye back. Interesting place nonetheless

Yelp
Gee, I thought Fallon & Byrne was a comedy skit on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" where he and a completely unrecognizable Rose Byrne play a pair of New Jersey ambulance chasers pitching their legal services to car accident victims: http://www.hulu.com/watch/378535#i1,p889,d2 Well, it's not as funny as the chandelier and marble column commercials on "Saturday Night Live" where Scarlett Johansson pointed to all the merchandise in her sparkly gown. But I digress. It turns out Fallon & Byrne is actually the Dean & Deluca of Dublin or maybe the Dubliner's Draeger's since they offer an adjacent upscale restaurant, too. That should give you enough of an image of this gourmet food hall on bar-friendly Exchequer Street close to the Temple Bar area. Organic produce. Venison and partridge. Exotic fruits from Southeast Asia. Aged Comté cheese. Fancy pastries. Prime Irish Angus beef. What more could you possibly want? Seriously... WHAT MORE? (see photos).

Yelp
The holy grail of grocery stores in Dublin. Like adult Disneyland. Specialty items from all over the globe. You will find items here that you will not find at Tesco. Excellent meat counter, fresh fruits & veggies. Very nice wine bar down stairs. Very pricey but well worth it for the discriminating tastes.

Kent R.

Yelp
Perfect service, attentive and knowledgeable. The waiter guided me on the glasses of wine an dissent aim towards the most expensive, just the best pairing. Wines were all excellent and interesting. The steak, rabbit and my halibut were first class. Th Carlingford oysters fantastic. Very nicely balanced mignonette sauce to accompany. My friend has grilled oysters, declaring them superb. Euros 300 for four.

Karen C.

Yelp
I love browsing around Fallon & Byrne's market area, but it's hard to walk out empty-handed. Everything they carry is consistently high quality, though perhaps a tad pricey. If you're looking for any specialty items/imported ingredients and can't find them in your local Tesco, try this place. I've come here for everything from trying to find good marzipan for a whisky pairing to Angostura bitters. When I have a craving for oysters, I often go to the fish counter here because they're open late enough for me to drop by after work (when most other fish shops would be closed). They also have a great selection of meats & cheeses... if you have dinner guests you need to impress, splurge for the jamon iberico bellota. This acorn-fed cured ham will just melt in your mouth. Of course, your charcuterie board wouldn't be complete without a fresh crusty bread. Don't worry - the bread selection immediately on your left as you enter the store is amazing as well.

Julz D.

Yelp
If you love visiting gourmet grocery stores when traveling, this is the place for you! Decadent cheese & charcuterie selection, prepared food to take away & heat, amazing desserts, fascinating jams, teas, cookies, and candies. And take home a gorgeous burlap bag with their name on it. So much fun to explore!!

Meghana S.

Yelp
Not sure how I've missed this super cozy and homely cafe despite living in Dublin for 2 years and walking past SO many times! It has easily become my #1 fave! Let's take a minute to acknowledge the beautifully made cafe (ref. my image) - it was like a festival in my mouth! Absolutely recommend it!

Lucky O.

Yelp
Gorgeous speciality/high end supermarket right in the city centre. Also has a restaurant/function room upstairs & wine cellar downstairs. This is where you go to get all of your lovely bits and pieces, probably not the best place to do your full weekly shop! They have a fantastic cheese counter with knowledgeable staff who can make recommendations based on what you like. The fruit & veg section is excellent and has lots of rare things you will struggle to find elsewhere (smoked garlic, medjool dates, graffiti aubergines?). The majority of products they stock are very high quality. It has a cafe/deli in the corner with a small area for seating at ground level.

Nick D.

Yelp
So my wife and I have been here 2 weeks now and been to Fallon and Byrne twice, once to the wine cellar and once to the restaurant upstairs, both are mind-blowingly good. At the wine cellar we had slow cooked beef that was spectacular and great wine too! Upstairs in the restaurant the following week the experience was just as good! For both visits the service and overall experience were impeccable and I cannot fault anything about it. We also loved browsing the store on the ground floor too, they have a fantastic selection of high quality food.

Jordan N.

Yelp
We went in expecting a market and cafe, and found the wine cellar restaurant down stairs. The food was really good, I'd recommend the crab cake. Upstairs the bakery/cafe looked amazing, so if you have less time it may be a good alternative.

Miriam W.

Yelp
If you're traveling to a far off place and planning to bring me back a pressie, skip the t-shirts and bring me edibles instead! On my last trip to Dublin I came to Fallon & Byrne twice (it should be noted that I was in Ireland for less than four days.) On my first visit I had a hot chocolate and took a stroll around to peruse this fantastic food emporium. Then I returned the evening before my flight back to New York to buy. It seemed like time stopped as I combed the shelves of this gourmet food hall. In the end I bought a tin of mulled wine bundles, whisky toddy spice sachets, artisan Irish chocolate and salted butter caramels. In sum, Fallon & Byrne is to Dublin as Bi Rite is to San Francisco. But Fallon & Byrne has a restaurant! And I plan to eat there the next time I'm in town!

Rachel L.

Yelp
I love Fallon & Byrne, it never ever ever fails to disappoint, from the take away sandwiches at lunchtime to the gorgeous coffee, the range of cheese, the wine.... the list is endless in my view. It's rare a venue can cover all bases, quick lunch, cheese, meat and wine with friends, sit down waiter service lunch and even black tie occasions.... Fallon & Byrne does it all. I visited last night for what's become a monthly visit at this stage... or a little more. One cheese and charcuterie platter, one fish stew, one glass of the NZ Sauvignon blanc and one glass of the NZ Syrah and 2 very happy people... the atmosphere is always bubbly with the music at the right volume for a chat, it was warm as the wind was blowing outside and provided the perfect sustenance before braving the cold to do some shopping!! I won't say I'll go back as I always do.... 5 stars of fabulousness...

Angela H.

Yelp
Came here for the restaurant and WOW, this place is amazing in all areas of its crowd, the food, and the prices! You can tell how fresh the ingredients are in the food right away and you can also purchase all things on the menu in the shop upstairs. Ordered a red wine and had the tapas cheese and salami plate which was meant for two, but the waiter cut the order in half and it was pretty much the exact same portions as the regular for-sharing menu but on a smaller plate. Regardless, the ingredients and materials were amazing. It came with an ample load of bread, some jam, two cheese, and 3 types of meat (one prosciutto) and the tastiest grapes ever. The combo of these finely selected items? Mouthwatering and irresistible and i enjoyed every bite with no regrets. You MUST MUST MUST MUST come get this plate and some wine if you are a wine and tapas fanatic like me!b

Lava Y.

Yelp
I do my grocery shopping here since it's the best in terms of fresh organic fruit and veg, as well as fresh fish! You will find all kinds of unusual stuff here, from white eggplants and purple cauliflower and carrots to shimeji mushrooms and yellow tomatos. They also have sections for asian (japanese, chinese, thai) spices, italian, all kinds of teasm oils, seasonings, grains... you can find almost anything! Much better than a regular supermarket for food. Everything is by weight so it's not expensive. The food they serve at the deli is also really tasty, and they do some nice stuff like fish cakes, veggie burgers, salads etc. Not to expensive either. The coffee here is great too. The upstairs restaurant is a bit posh though with waiter service and quite expensive. I don't like the food they serve there either, to complicated and not to my taste.

Ian K.

Yelp
Over priced and poor service. I just spent 15 minutes queuing at the meat counter while the staff served people who just arrived (it seems like the staff knew these people) were served ahead of us. When we complained we were told that we should have qued at the cheese counter at the other side of the room. None of the people who were served ahead of us had qued there.

Yelp
A real foodie paradise ! When you walk in the door of Fallon and Byrne and you are greeted with a cornucopia of amazing looking fruit and vegetables presented in the most lovely way. You also know straight away this place isn't going to be cheap - and it's not - but equally it isn't extortionate and they have a really good range of products to fit most budgets and some great lunch deals which they put on Facebook and Twitter each day. Now obviously it's not somewhere I'd be doing my weekly shop - but maybe someday ! I would be here all day if I told you all of the amazing things they have on offer but the general lay of the land is this - a wine bar in the basement / cafe / deli / food hall on the ground floor and restaurant upstairs. They even cater for weddings in the venue on the upper floors. The deli has amazing meat / fish and cheese counters and the staff are really knowledgeable. They have all sorts of food stuffs from all over the world and a great selection of American goodies. The wine bar has an amazing range of over 400 wines that you can buy to take away - if you want to drink one there they add on €10 corkage except on "Happy Mondays" when it is only €1. They have a lovely menu in the wine bar and you can also bring anything from the deli above downstairs if you like. Finally the staff are amazing - really friendly and knowledgeable. I have heard they spend a lot of time training and sending the staff off to learn about the wine and food and this really comes across in their enthusiasm.

Yelp
What's wrong with me?! It only took me a year in Dublin before I visited the much-coveted F&B wine bar. It did help I have in my possession, a €100 gift voucher though *wiggle* Great underground space, more seats than I expected but definitely come early! All the seats were taken by 7 pm on a rainy Thursday evening... The crostini and dips were to die for, and surprisingly filling (and quite cheap at €7!) The meat and cheese charcuterie board were a bit meh. Wine was excellent and reasonably priced - we had two carafes of the very quaffable pinot blanc. All in all, it came to less than €60... score! P.S. the sommelier that day provided some eye candy too.

Hong L.

Yelp
I had high expectations for the restaurant upstairs . When you walk in, the place feels like a fancy French modern restaurant. I was hoping to be swept of my feet by the quality of food. We ordered wine, cheese board, cod (app), chicken entree and the burger (with sharp cheddar and bacon). I was utterly disappointed at the food and my fiancé was trying to make me feel better. The wines (by glass) were drinkable to say the most. I think what we enjoyed the most were the cheese board (I can never say no to cheese) which had four different types of cheese, grapes, jam, and plenty of crackers AND the cod which was cooked well yet still moist and flakey. We were not fans of our entrees. The chicken was so dry and felt like it was one of those old chicken meats. The burger was cooked well (which they tell you beforehand) but lacked much flavor and the bun was dry. I took one bite of the fries and it wasn't crispy at all.

Yelp
Since Fallon & Byrne first opened their Exchequer Street grocery store/deli/wine bar/restaurant a decade ago, it's been my first port of call - and number one Dublin recommendation - for anything foodie related that's just a little bit out of the ordinary (stripey tomatoes, agave nectar, hen's teeth...you get the picture.) It's a gorgeous spot, but while I've often eaten in the deli or wine cellar, I had the impression that the first-floor restaurant was on the spendy side. I was delighted to be proved wrong when they invited me in to try out their new lunch menu: under the auspices of a new head chef, the menu ranges from €7.50 for light bites to €12.95 for a platter or €20/€25 for a two/three course set menu. From this latter, I picked an incredibly tasty roasted pear salad to start. Beautifully presented, the pear was stuffed with creamy cashel blue cheese and crunchy pistachio (I waived the bacon because of this fella here.) My dining companion, The Brunette, had the soup - I can't recall from which vegetables it was made, but like everything on the menu, it was seasonal, and pronounced spectacularly tasty. There were chestnuts! I just remembered that part; she especially liked the chestnuts. On to the mains, and I was immediately drawn to one of the pasta dishes, spaghetti genovese: with pesto, garlic, new potatoes, artichoke and pine nuts, this was an incredibly flavoursome dish and rivalled any I've eaten in Italy. The potatoes really lend it that added authenticity (I totally stole that line from our handsome French waiter.) Oh, and before I go on, a special word of tribute for the people. Not only was our waiter handsome and French (those two points bear repeating), but he was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, as was everyone who served us. The maître d', Stephen, deserves special mention for his kindness. I called that morning about Missy, my new (to me) chihuahua, who'd been having a bit of separation anxiety (she's much better now), and he honestly could not have been nicer. She was allowed to come along in her little carrier, and was made quite the fuss of by the staff. By the end of our meal we were feeling lovely and relaxed in the light-filled, art deco inspired room - so while we waived dessert, we ordered up a round of Irish Coffee Martinis (Missy was on the dry), to send us on our way. These were delicious, with a warm whiskey kick, and perfectly rounded off a very pleasant afternoon.

Yelp
I just plain adore this place! I love the ground floor as you walk into the food market. The fresh produce and bread followed by a lot of gourmet items you won't find anywhere else. Then there's the food counters with fresh meat, cheese, fish and cold charcuterie meats / pate. There's also a lot of items imported from the USofA :) There's also a cafe area on the ground floor serving fab coffee and pastries. There's a deli counter beside the cafe area that is selling awesome sandwiches. If you buy a sandwich here and the cafe seats are full you can take it to the wine cellar... The wine cellar is serving up great plates such as charcuterie boards or their house chicken liver pate with fresh bread... Their wine list is awesome! Up last on my review but not least is the restaurant. We had lunch here around Christmas. The food was great, good wine and cocktails. The service is also impeccable. Like I said I just adore this place.

Li A.

Yelp
Hi. I'm just leaving a matcha-related review. I regularly get matcha here in this place. A lot of places have been driven to madness with the sheer amount of quality I demand from their matcha. Fallon & Byrne have never dropped below a certain level of quality. A lot of other places have resorted to "matcha mix" sachets. What are these nonsensical things? If I'm paying to pick up something that's 100% matcha, it should not be a mix. They still try to sell it at the highest price too. Unbelievable!

Akane M.

Yelp
My Favorite,Favorite Food Place :) Since my first visit, this has been my favorite place in Dublin city center! Though not everything is Irish, they have such a variety of fruits and vegetables (and they look good in quality)! I often buy tomatoes (even only tomatoes they have plenty kinds!!), paying them by weight. I think the sweetest ones are cherry vine tomatoes. In the food hall there is a place where you can have their freshly cooked foods. This greatly attracts me!! (though it's not a very comfortable space where you can stay longer having a chat, but that's also why this place is easier to use when you are by yourself.) I would like to write up about three things. 1.Sandwiches 2.Delis 3.Sweets and Drinks [ Sandwiches] As you can see on their website, there are many possibilities. What's better is different kinds of breads are used according to the ingredients inside. I had a Turkey Special-- Turkey, ham, lettuce and stuffing with cranberry sauce and mayonnaise, served with brown bap bread. Very nice. The cranberry sauce played such an important role, that it was not an ordinary sandwich. the amount of mayonnaise was a little too much, though. As for bread itself, I don't think it something special (of course the ingredients are reliable, though), but when toasted, the surface had a great great crustiness, oh, perfect sandwich! [Delis] Again they have plenty of selections, difficult to make a choice!! Once I had several kinds of salads, which were generally too oily, I thought, but the one with broccoli and marinated tofu was excellent. also I had Massaman Vegetarian Curry, served with brown rice. It had quite many kinds of root vegetables, and the base flavour was made from coconut milk, so it was not spicy. I definitely loved it. While continuing eating, I felt it a little heavy and too intense, which made me very full, but which didn't bring me a heartburn. [Sweets and Drinks] Their cakes don't look very very sophisticated, but that's why they are nice. In every cake you can see "home-made" and love. I had a Blueberry Muffin with Vanilla Black Tea. Both were satisfying. The muffin was never too fatty and made me happy, with moist texture and comfortable sweetness. This is the end of my review, but let me say one more thing. Every staffs are really nice, even ones in a cashier. That's also why I prefer to buy foods here, not in normal supermarkets.

Yelp
The best cocktail I've had in a very very long time. Passion fruit and jalapeño margarita was to die for! Will definitely be back for more! Gorgeously sweet scallops and delicious oysters for dinner, winner! Very accommodation waitress when I asked about dairy and sugar free desserts, would be lovely to see a couple of alternatives on the menu next time :)

Yelp
This spot was recommended by two of our friends and a guidebook, so we knew it would be good. There are three parts to this place: The restaurant (upstairs), the food hall (street level) and the wine bar (downstairs). We didn't buy anything in the food hall, but it was pretty large and looked to have a wide variety of foods. We ate at the restaurant on a quiet night, so we ended up feeling like the wine bar would have been a better spot for us. There was a really lively, fun atmosphere going on down there and they had a wide selection of wine bottles on display. The food was good, and a great price. We got a multi course theatre menu. I got a salad and eggplant parmesan. My husband got the gazpacho and the Irish beef burger. The entrees were good, but we really enjoyed the appetizers. My salad stood out. It had warm fruit (pear I think) with cheese and prosciutto and pumpkin seeds. We had a shortcake type dessert.

Yelp
Love, love, love Fallon and Byrne! It's like an old school market meshed with a new age farmers market. Fruit and veg stacked in boxes, gorgeous pastries on offer, great deli food to take away, a fish counter, a smoothie bar and lots of other things like olives, sweets, chocolate, drinks...the list is endless. Even if you have no money to spend, F+B is such an enjoyable experience. It stocks a lot of things you can't get elsewhere, so you end up walking around intrigued by everything. I'm a big fan.

Yelp
What can I say more than what has been said already here. Its the perfect place to shop and probably buy everything you plan to get. Its the right place if you're looking for edible flowers, exotic fruits, weird types of mushrooms you would want to try ( i guess), chocolates, etc. Plus, coffee/ lunch at their amazing cafe. Always your best choice for food shopping in dublin.

Yelp
I want to preface by saying we had a wonderful meal at Fallon & Byrne, but that our experience was overshadowed by something that occurred at the end of it. My husband and had had made reservations in advance for 6pm. When we go there, the restaurant was pretty quiet aside from a few other tables, and only was moderately busy around 7pm when we were finishing up. We were given the check and paid, and were sitting enjoying the last glasses of wine from the bottle we ordered when we were suddenly approached by someone who was not our waitress and were told, "I'm sorry, but we need this table, you're going to have to move. You can sit at the bar if you'd like." We looked around in disbelief, as there were many empty tables around us. Not to mention, there were 2 women at a table 2 down from us who were there before we arrived, and were still sitting and chatting with empty wine glasses in front of them, undisturbed. I kid you not when I say I had a full glass of wine left. My husband and I were so shocked, that we got up and left. I cannot believe a high end restaurant would ever treat a paying guest in that manner. We weren't even asked nicely or offered a free drink at the bar for our trouble. Never is it appropriate to kick someone out of their table, especially when they made reservations in advanced, there were other empty tables around them and we had just spent 100 euro at your establishment. My entire glass of wine went to waste. Needless to say we left Fallon & Byrne with a very sour taste in our mouths, and with no plans of returning or recommending it to anyone. It's a shame, really because had that not occurred, we would have had nothing but positive things to say.

Yelp
You wouldn't think of going to a grocer's to get a cup of coffee, but I did after a friend recommended the cafe in Fallon Byrne. Fallon Byrne is an upscale food market that has a delightful cafe on the ground floor. In the corner, at the end of the vegetable aisle, next to the bread, the coffee shop sits about 30 people. I ordered a chai latte which was spicy, creamy and delicious. Prices were average for that area of town and there were a number of sweet treats, although the food is a bit expensive. If you don't mind sipping your coffee in the middle of a food market then you'll like this place.

Yelp
I've got to say I love this place. I've never had the opulent experience that Nora M mentions (although I'm very jealous and would love to go all out at the restaurant) but it's always been a brilliant experience, just the same. I love the deli/cafe area. You can order any of the foods from the deli section and eat them there, so your options aren't confined to the delectable sweets in the display and on the counter. This can actually be a pretty cheap way of sampling the delights of F&B. I managed to pick out a bean and potato salad and an iced tea and only had to part with a fiver. Pretty impressive, considering my friend spent more on her coffee and tart snack, and I was fed for the evening. The grocery section of F&B has an excellent range of gourmet foods - for fellow Aussies out there - it has VEGEMITE!!!! (big plus!) The wine bar downstairs has a great atmosphere and deserves a review of its own... maybe another time!

Yelp
I do like Fallon and Byrne, but I also get the feeling that it views its customers as a little gullible - patsies, if you will, to use the 1920s grifting term. They have some lovely ingredients on their shelves, but some of them are available at Asian supermarkets and ordinary grocery stores for half the price. It is definitely not the place to do your weekly shop - you will be eating foie gras on crackers until the next pay day - but it is a top spot for tricky, hard to find ingredients, antipasti, fresh fruit and veg (some of it exotic) and ready-to-eat meals from the deli counter. Downstairs in the wine cellar, smart, unobtrusive waiters will bring you plates of cheese and meats, which are surprisingly good value.

Yelp
Celebrated a friend's 21st (plus 9 haha) in Fallon & Byrne a couple of weeks ago and was really impressed by the fact that they offer a great set menu on a Friday night - €25.95 for two courses and €29.95 for three. I went for the Daube of Beef for my main and was actually served a steak with fries and a Bernaise sauce, after alerting the waitress to the mix-up I was told that I'd actually had the wrong menu (from the Taste of Dublin festival that had been on the week before) and that the only beef option on the actual menu that night was the steak that had a €7.00 supplement. The manager came to the table to apologise and said that the steak would be taken off the bill, which I thought was awfully sound of them, and I was only too happy to indulge in the free steak which was beautifully cooked and really well seasoned. In all honesty, the service was a bit off for the whole table, apart from the mix-up with my order, we were left waiting on drinks orders and some people's drinks never materialised at all but still appeared on the bill. The manager, in fairness to her, did sort out the bill for us, but it's a pity that the poor service did mar the experience a little. The food really was great and excellent value for money for a weekend night, my dessert was a little showstopper - chocolate mousse with a raspberry coulis, mini meringues and pralines - it was one of the best desserts I've had all year. I will definitely be back, I loved the vibe in the dining room - buzzy and sophisticated - and the food was pretty awesome, I'll just be hoping for better service on my next visit

Yelp
One word springs to mind when I think of Fallon & Byrne: fresh. And to be honest, if your business oozes freshness then you can consider it a success. The fruit and veg is great. The chocolate is amazing and the ready made meals from the deli taste home-made. The downside is that your wallet will feel considerably lighter than when you walked in. But still. Delicious.

Yelp
Dublin doesn't have a lot of options when it comes to healthy and natural foods. I know this because I come from the states, where every grocery store has tofu, organic kale, rice milk and so on. I found that health food stores' selection here is really limited, and certainly lack the feel of a traditional grocery. So finding Fallon & Byrne really surprised me, and I felt sort of like I was stepping into a teeny Whole Foods (which is the best grocery store EVER and is a veritable paradise of orgasmically delicious food. London got one, come on Dublin please follow suit!!!!) They have tons of natural and whole foods, the produce is top quality and delicious and the prepared foods are reeeeally good. On the downside, they didn't have ANY faux meat, which I assumed were a staple at stores like this. In addition, it's really like, dramatically expensive. I couldn't really afford to buy anything... which made me kind of angry. It's fun to explore, but it would be cheaper to have my mom buy all my favorites and ship them from the states than to buy anything here. Sad.

Yelp
Fanciest supermarket in town. This ain't no Tesco or Supervalue no siree. This is the place you go to when you want the best ingredients for cooking that fancy dinner to impress whoever it is people want to impress these days. They have a massive butcher counter with pretty much every kind of meat you can think of; from venison to rabbit. They even stock whole quails. They also boast an impressive cheese counter which always has a queue wrapped around the entire store. This is also the only shop that stocks fresh whole jalapenos in Dublin (well as far as I know of anyway). They have lots of other kinds of chilies and other exotic vegetables. The only drawback for this place is the price. I suppose you do have to pay if you want quality, but I kind of feel like this place is a little more expensive than it needs to be for a lot of their stock. That being said, their meat is well priced and so are the jalepenos, which are usually what I go here to get.

Yelp
We had a great meal at Fallon & Byrne during our recent trip to Dublin. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our reservation was honored with a very nice table with a great view of the restaurant and the outside and a special birthday recognized at dessert. The food and cocktails were excellent. The market downstairs is also a great experience. This should be on everyone's list when in Dublin. Thanks to the staff at Fallon & Byrne for making my wife's birthday celebration a hit!

Yelp
Stopped in for some lunch with the in laws. I found that because it is a bank holiday weekend. There is a limited menu and the service seems to have also taken a holiday. It isn't the the food wasn't nice. It was that there was little things which annoyed me. The fact the the waters though that splashing water into the glass and then drips all over the table was a good service. That the burger I ordered while the burger it self was good the bun was burnt around the edges. And please someone tell me why there is a salad with my burger? Who thinks that this isn't nothing more that a plate filler?
