On the Grid : The Burger's Priest

"This is the original location since its inception in 2010. Burger's Priest has been constantly slaying the burger game across Toronto with their fresh ground beef and soft buns. It's no surprise that you’d always find a line-up gushing out the door, because people love the well-prepared burgers that these cooks are hustling hard to make. Rejoice–this location is finally open on Sundays! If it's your first time here, I highly recommend the Priest burger, which consists of two deep-fried portabello mushrooms with cheese inside and a beef patty. Alternatively, if you’re vegetarian, that’s not a problem because the Option burger consists of everything previously mentioned minus the beef patty, But beware... they also have a secret menu. This location only accepts cash but they've got your back with an ATM Machine inside. Canadians–it's time for redemption, one burger at a time. 🙏" - Mimi Vuong

"Toronto’s Most Popular Burger The Canadian version of America’s In N Out Burger, The Burger’s Priest pays tribute to the mighty burger and religious references. Believers line up all day, every day (except Sunday) for their most revered burger. The not-so-secret secret menu is up online. I highly recommend the High Priest, their version of the Big Mac (though it’s not listed online). Vegetarians can get the “option,” mushrooms and cheese topped with panko crust. If you’re in a bad mood, carnivores can devour the “Priest,” a cheeseburger with the option that may have you thanking the heavens. The Priest, as its affectionately called, has a following so strong it now has three locations to serve the masses. That said, if you're going to the Queen Street East location, there is very little seating so take your burger down to the beach or the park just south of Queen."

The burger was actually delicious and juicy. The fries were hand cut andvery tasty. They got bonus points for having actual bottles of Heinz ketchup. They even had malt vinegar available. The soft drinks for an actual cans which made it fresh. Only thing that I didn't like about it was you couldn't see them putting the toppings on the burger. I did like their homemade sauce too.

We had this place on our list of places to eat and it was amazing. Great service and they took time to prepare the food fresh. Thank you so much for the love and effort in making our evening great.

We have eaten many, many times at their original Burgers Priest location from when it first opened in 2010. The tiny, squishy restaurant, with standing room only, and lines out the door, was awesome. The service was always efficient and friendly, the food delicious, so we decided to try their new (to us) Beach location since we were back visiting the area. Today’s experience was the absolute opposite of what used to be. We ordered two cheeseburgers with fries and two milkshakes (advertised as “homespun”, but out of a machine and full of nothing but sugar). The “chocolate” milkshake was some sort of vanilla with a bit of chocolate syrup. The bun on the burger was from a package and tasteless. The cheese on the burger wasn’t melted, and we hadn’t been asked if we wanted toppings before they wrapped the burgers up (they would always ask at the original location). Our food came without our shakes, and when we asked where they were, the impolite chef said “they’d be up soon.” He went off to do something else and only made our drinks because I stood by the machine and waited. The restaurant was not busy, there was no reason for us to have to wait. The music was also turned up very loud and only one bathroom was in operation (with a broken hand drier on the wall). I would NOT recommend eating here. What a disappointing experience and a waste of $40.

I’ve always wanted to try The Burger’s Priest, and today we finally did after a good swim at the beach. I ordered The Priest super cheesy and delicious while my husband had Holy Smokes and really enjoyed it too. The burgers are very filling, the fries are crispy and flavourful, and the chocolate milkshake was rich and creamy (a bit on the sweeter side for me). Overall, such a satisfying first visit we’ll definitely be back!

Without a doubt one of the greatest burgers spots in the city. The Starbucks of burger joints, pricey but 100% worth it

UPDATE: The Burger’s Priest has moved further down on Queen Street East! Its original location it used to be at was the first Burger’s Priest location to launch in Toronto, and the line went down the street! Now, it’s still busy, but much more manageable and they have much more space to work with. I’ve come here multiple times for their delicious burgers, fries, and unique selection of innovative burger creations. The staff here are impressively efficient and hardworking. They’re used to taking custom burger orders, and do a fantastic job at getting it done fast and accurately. The location itself is small, with only a few chairs alongside a table on the inside. In the summer, they provide a makeshift front outdoor eating area with umbrellas to protect you from the sun. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their Classic Cheeseburger; nothing can beat it. Fresh ingredients, tender beef, melty cheese. Their fries are also special, being beautifully seasoned, a red-golden colour, and crispy. My fiancé loves their Bacon Cheeseburger, and we’ve one gotten the Vatican to split. Their burger creations are incredible and taste as good as they look. The milkshakes are DIVINE here. They use quality chocolate, fresh cream and milk. I can attest that both the chocolate one and the salted caramel one are HEAVEN. I highly recommend this new Burger’s Priest location! You can taste the difference in their burgers and fries from the fresh ingredients they use, as well as the care they put into the preparation.

Ordered a big order for pick up and they were ready in 15 minutes! The staff were very nice, and I had everything I ordered. You can never go wrong with a California Classic; the bun is like a grilled cheese sandwich so its nice and buttery. The package for fries might look standard, but its actually A LOT of fries and their gravy was delicious!
