"So this choice is not just a great Pilsen find, but a great Chicago find. It is room after room of fabric the likes of which JoAnne has never even seen. There are odd ends of rolls, embellishments and fixins that give you a hunting experience similar to thrifting. This is where fashion students start and Chicago designers have been coming for years. Google
Amazing store with a huge selecting of well priced stock. While it can be a bit overwhelming at first things are organized fairly well on the first floor. It's when you head onto the second floor or especially the basement that it feels like you're in some forgotten warehouse. If you do any kind of sewing this is absolutely a place you should stop.

Google
If you can't find it here, it hasn't been made! This place is fantastic!! Absolutely anything you need for sewing is here.

Google
Great selection of items. Been coming here for years. Would be nice if they had better hours. Maybe even have a late night would be helpful. Now that Joanne fabrics is closed, this place is the only one I know in the city that carries quality stuff. They’ve come a long way in terms if having it organized better. But I still would love to work here a few days a week to get things done further. It can be challenging to get some fabrics due to them being in a large pile. Everything is great but the hours. Oh on a side note customers should be assigned to the cactus cutters randomly.,’ I’ve watched oriole wait for certain employees, which seems totally suspicious. More the likely getting more then what they pay for. If staff overall I’ve been totally happy with. Keep it up!

Google
the store has a nice selection of goods, they're much more organized than previously, but their store hours really SUCK..you got the entire sewing community cramped in on sundays due to early closing Monday thru Thursday, and closed Friday and Saturday. Again, It SUCKS!! For all of the business it's gotten over the decades, surely one day out of the week with a few more hours should be considered... for the sake of everyone that's still in the sewing community l surely hope so..and another thing to add to the disappointment is they DO NOT ALLOW RETURNS..at all.. for anything so be completely sure about you purchase.

Google
I really like this store . the staff are kind and the fabric selection is great. However, the shopping experience can feel a bit overwhelming. This place has like a many rooms and it’s not super organized. One thing that bothers me is that prices aren’t always clearly displayed on a lot of fabrics, so you may have to ask someone directly.

Rick Nielsen

Google
They have a lot of stuff! Terrific prices too! I marked the review down a bit because r$ð$he fabric typically used for quilting was a smaller selection and not great choices.

Google
On my day off i Googled ‘fabric stores’ and was decided on spending my money for a craft in a small business. I drove all the way here from Indiana. ALTHOUGH— this business is an entire warehouse full of treasures and I cannot stop raving and praising how wonderful and helpful all the staff treated all customers. Towards the end I was being helped by a really kind and helpful young man named Israel. Come to find out he IS THE OWNER. He was so helpful and humble I really left there feeling like a valued customer and I found everything I was looking for our pillow craft. THANK YOU IMMENSELY ISRAEL AND THANK YOU TO ALL YOUR WONDERFUL STAFF :)

Visited this place on 10/12/2023. They have a small bit of parking available. Lots and Lots of fabrics available more then I have ever seen in my life tbh. Staff was kind and welcoming and would help if asked. I do wish they sold a lil more faux furs but they did have some available!

Paulette W.

Yelp
They had EVERY fabric imaginable! Prices and Quality are incredible! Even notions I thought only Wholesalers would sell! Well worth the trip!!

Tulip N.

Yelp
The selection here is vast, the prices are great, and the people who work here are efficient and nice, but the overarching organization is chaotic and things are not very clean. The lower level smells like mold, and sometimes the main floor does too . Some bolts are just plain dirty. The (many!) home decor fabrics are mostly out of fashion (there's a LOT of burgundy, for instance). Having said that, they do certain things very well. If you're shopping for prom/formal fabric, this is the place - huge selection, rapid turnover so things don't have time to get messed up, and there are dazzling rhinestone, crystal, and lace trims that will have you trying to figure out how you can get them in your life even if your last prom was 30 years ago. For that, this place is worth a stop. Wear a mask.

Gregory S.

Yelp
You can spend hours in this place! With multiple floors and rooms they have absolutely everything you can imagine and at really good prices for the quality. I bought some African themed fabric here several years ago for a lampshade project that worked out really well. I still have some of that fabric too. I love it. I have another chair (a mid century) I need to reupholster and will probably stop in this winter to check over their vinyl selections.

Edith J.

Yelp
If you want a deal - this is pretty much guaranteed to be the best prices anywhere. They don't QUITE have everything but they have so, so much. Lots of remaindered fabrics for a song. Upholstery fabrics may be $10 a yard. They will order you fabrics (skin-colored stretch mesh) without hesitation. Leather is apparently cheaper than everywhere (people drive hundreds of miles to shop here). Great prices on fancy fabrics with stones, sequins, fringe. Huge trim selection. Elastic and cording is sooooo much cheaper than standard stores. The store is not pretty. It is a warehouse with unfinished wood floors. In the basement it is particularly crowded with overflowing boxes of notions that are unmarked - etc. Check the stuff in those boxes by the way. Cool stuff and don't let the lack of price tag stop you. Almost always much less than you can imagine. Three floors of fabulous deals. Oh yeah - upholstery foam etc and finished pillows - you name it.

Kate D.

Yelp
This place is amazing and has to be seen to be believed. They must have everything you could possibly want re: sewing. Go - you won't regret it.

Richard H.

Yelp
Can be overwhelming. Hard to stay focused with so many wonderful things to choose from. Great Prices. Something for every kind of project.

Joyee T.

Yelp
Amazing place!! Wowowoow!!! I'm shocked at the prices and the selections are endless. The minimum you have to buy is a yard, you bring the fabric to the front, and the nice workers cut it for you. I came to grab fabric to make a Halloween costume and I was super happy with my experience. The service is excellent and the store itself is very clean which made the shopping experience even more pleasant! My sister plans on buying a bunch of fabric to make some clothing.

Lily G.

Yelp
If you need any kind of fabric this is the place to be! Tons of varieties for a discount and lots of options and colors. Be aware that it is a very large place so take a trip to get the layout and find where everything is so you don't get lost! There are some people around to help you but their mostly in the front area. There are shopping carts too which helped with the amount I was buying!

Melissa W.

Yelp
Lots of great discount bridal and prom fabrics. If you gave the sewing skills you can create a designer look for a fraction of the cost.

AJ W.

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem. There are no bells, or whistles. But if you need bulk fabric, this is the place to go. Going there on Sunday, you will see every costume, designer, set, designer, drag queen, prop designer in the city of Chicago, figuring out what they need.

Jean Ann V.

Yelp
Great place for amazing deals! There's so much to look at, it might take multiple trips. I hear there's a basement full of notions, but I didn't go in there. You have to go in with the understanding that there's not a lot of help available. It's like a warehouse...but, hey, it's super affordable!

Jessica S.

Yelp
Amazing variety of fabrics and good prices. I traveled from Kansas City to chicago and made it a point to stop here and will definitely be stopping again when I'm in the city.

Michele B.

Yelp
Still love this place I know they are busy specially when folks are making mask. I called a couple of weeks ago. The person on the phone stated that they were only taking phone orders. Online sales only. I dont know if the store is open yet or when will they decide to let people back in. I hope so soon.

Michelle Y.

Yelp
I knew this place was here for quite some time but never really had a reason to stop in. I finally needed some fabric and buttons for a project, so I excitedly walked over. To say this place has a lot of fabrics is an understatement!! This place to a seamstress or costume maker is what Binny's is to me - heaven. Be prepared to spend a great deal of time just browsing and taking in all the offerings. It's a little overwhelming at first but you will be able to make your way through this maze by the end of your trip. They have three floors of everything you can imagine: fabric, vinyl, leather, ribbons, buttons, lace, tulle, sequins, and the list goes on (possibly forever). Whether you're just looking for simple fabric for a small craft project or something higher-end (which they have a separate room of), they will most likely have it. The place is always busy with many customers, but the place is so big that nobody is ever in your way. I try to limit my time on the basement floor because of the mold/mildewy air that I get sick from. The prices are very inexpensive and the employees are always nice and helpful. Definitely come here as your first destination before going to JoAnns or Michael's.

Caey W.

Yelp
It's huge, with the largest selection of fabrics I've ever seen, at great prices. A short walk from the Damen Pink Line stop, it's worth a trip across town, whether you're a design champ or a casual looki-loo. If you've never visited, be prepared. It will be an excursion, not just a quick trip. Here are my tips for your first time: 1) Plan on at least 2-3 hours, because the place can be mind-boggling. It will take at least 30 minutes just to get the lay of the land. 2) If you have a specific project in mind, bring samples with you (clothes, tile, paint color, etc.) Use your cellphone to take pics of fabrics you like so you can find them later. Trust me on this. 3) Wear tennis shoes, there are lots of stairs and creeeaaky hallways. Wear clothes that don't attract lint. Seriously! 4) Have a meal in one of the great nearby restaurants. Have fun! I know I sure did.

Yan X.

Yelp
Great place but overwhelming. They even have organic cotton upholstery fabric! Some signs posted including prices but few employees floating around to help people so expect to do a lot of guesswork on your own. I do wish there are labels about fabric cleaning/caring instructions. I couldn't find a cart available so just got my own roll of fabric and carried it to the cutting table. In the main room, all the staff are very helpful and friendly (they may not always look it as they are working so hard!) Unfortunately, zippers sold were not longer than 32". Some parking lot spaces and easy street parking.

Meghan S.

Yelp
Amazing place. A little overwhelming. Give yourself time to wander. There are so many treasures, and at such great prices!

Blue F.

Yelp
I've been going to this store for years with no problems until one day a woman at the fabric cutting table refused to help me even though I was next in line. She chose to help someone else instead. When I complained, the staff made excuses for the worker and did nothing to reprimand her. The next time I came in the same worker chose to help the person behind me in line and make me wait for someone else to cut my fabric. This is why I stopped shopping here. I refuse to spend one penny in a store that allows this type of behavior.

Jackie B.

Yelp
I have purchased backdrops for new born photography many times before. Fabrics in general are expensive, but I had never find a decent place with the variety of fabrics that this place has. You can spend hours in this place and get lost in their AMAZING selection. You had never been in a fabric empire until you've been here. BRIDES- if you're looking for unique fabrics for weeding dresses you've got to check this place out.

Pam M.

Yelp
The low rating refers to an incident and not the vast selection of every type of fabric, trim, notions and discount pricing. We thought our search for an affordable upholstery fabric was at end after we found the perfect bolt labeled 22 yds yesterday. Problem was I thought we needed 24 yds and Dean said there was no more. Bummer!! Came home and remeasured our project finding 22 yds was adequate - yay!. Husband returns first thing this a.m and buys entire bolt with the assurance that yardage is accurate. Calls to me from his car on our fabulous find but I insist on a proper measurement..back in he goes. Good thing! Actual measure only 13 yards! Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe it but could have been worse had it been discovered later & hard to prove. Received money back but not our short lived elation. Don't take anyones word or rely on remaining yardage labels - measure it! Project on hold indefinitely :(

Yelp
Flew In town to Chgo. This week and I haven't been to This place In Ions......So it's Great that Jerris still there and she was so helpful as usual I could have spent the whole day there, but I gotta get back to L.a. Thx Jerri, Ms Bobbi and Staff for being so very helpful. California

Yelp
This place is amazing!! Five huge warehouse style rooms, each with three levels. Every type of fabric you can imagine, at all price points. Your first time here, prepare to spend at least two hours looking around. If you can't find what you're looking for here, it's probably not in Chicago at all!

Amanda J.

Yelp
I read the reviews, looked over as many photos as I could and this place was still overwhelming. Went there with the bride, and we found the perfect shade of charmeuse for skirts for a wedding to be held in July (yes, cutting it close). Also found some lining fabric. It is unusual to find fabrics here that are only 45'. 60's on a roll is more-normal. There is a ton of home decorating fabric like sheers and heavy carpet-like fabric, and there was some formal/glittery stuff. There was also stretch lace and non-stretch, but not the eyelet-like lace that was in mind for the top. Though they did have eyelet, there was only one row in the whole store. They have some knits, but few. I liked their selection of hardware- if making a purse, belt, or similar accessory, this would be THE place for hardware items, but now I'm looking for the right fabric for the lace top still. And their notions aren't tremendous (they do not have the best stock of things like needles and carry zero patterns) so this is definitely a fabric-heavy and heavy fabric place. Great for costumes, and great for curtains, chairs, etc. Very good for finding some bridal items, but again- only maybe 5 patterns of lace in their less-glitzy up-front areas.

Sylvia C.

Yelp
This place is truly amazing. I went in looking for a particular fabric for my drapes that cost a ton of money elsewhere and I found it here for $20. They have 3 huge floors filled with any type of fabric you can imagine. I'm talking about hound reds of thousands different types of fabric. I chose a heavy fabric that was on a pole. I quickly found an employee that kindly took the fabric down for me and carried it downstairs to the cutting table. Even though there were a lot of people getting fabric cut, I was assisted within 3 minutes because they have a ton of employees cutting. As soon as my fabric was cut, I was checked out and on my way. The gentleman manning the cash register was efficient and very kind. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. Come on over and get ready to hunt! It's absolutely a sewers paradise!

Yelp
I wanted to start a small business and I needed a lot of fabric for it because I waned to sell tote bags and the likes. It is a great thing that my friend recommended Textile Discount Outlet. I went to the store and it is so huge. I came in and I was greeted by a nice and friendly staff. The store has a lot of fantastic collection of designs, variety of unique fabrics and all. I took my time on searching for a nice fabric that is perfect for the items I wanted to sell. I could not decide easily because everything looks great. Surprisingly, the store is consists of three floors that added to more collections of fabric There are also vinyl, leather, ribbons, buttons, lace, sequins etc. I then decided to have at least ten types of fabrics with different designs. The helpful staff assisted me with all of it. I got everything in a very reasonable prices which makes me happy because I can make a lot of items for my business with those fabrics I bought. I had a great experience.

Claire R.

Yelp
I imagine you've heard legends about this place - how big it is, the incredibly low prices, the unbelievable selection and varieties of fabrics and notions. It's all true; three whole stories of fabric, findings and more! Make sure you book an hour or two at least to browse around. Maybe bring some water because air conditioning is quite limited. Always ask the amazing folks who work there where things are - all of the staff and the owners are extremely kind, accommodating, knowledgable and helpful. Asking for help is especially recommended because the place is so darn big and has so much product that it's a beast to navigate. The first floor with its main stock is pretty organized and labeled and the basement has been vastly improved from what it looked like years ago - it's been tidied up with with new racks and lighting. The upstairs has definite sections, but you might not find everything on racks - but that's ok, because rifling through big bins of fabric, pillows and leather can be fun. It makes your finds seem all the more like treasures. I especially like this place for its selection of leather - I think this is where EVERY furniture maker in the Midwest sends their leather scraps to, and it shows, especially if you are looking for beige, grey or off-white leathers. They also have some exotic print and brightly colored leathers, which can be fun accent pieces. They have a beautiful array of sequined fabric, silk dupioni, satins, rhinestone appliques, velvets, upholstery material, drapery fabrics, pillows, trims, notions, ribbons, micro-suedes, and some delightfully odd quilting cotton, among so much more! Check it out and bring home your own stellar finds!

Yelp
Went on a Tuesday morning to get about six yards of apparel fabric for costuming and I ended up getting that plus sewing machine needles, trim, and even featherweight boning for barely $30. It is by far the best priced, best selection of fabric and notions in Chicago. There was almost no line at the cutting counter that morning I went and the selection of everything -- every variety of fabric, closures, trims, ribbons, etc. -- is absolutely jawdropping. I spent two hours there and saw maybe a third of what they offer. The folks who work there are very efficient and know their stuff. However, because of the sheer scale and how busy the floor gets, it is probably not the best place to go for your very first sewing project. Because of the generalness of the labels (e.g. cotton lycra, lycra with spandex, two way versus four way stretch etc. all fall under "lycra" label) it can be difficult to figure out exactly what kind of fabric you're picking out unless you're familiar with different materials. Know what you're about in order to have the best shopping experience or bring an intermediate to experienced sewist with you.

Yelp
YOU HAVE JUST ENTERED THE FABRIC ZONE! Remember those crazy shows like the Twilight Zone, where people ended up in weird situations. Well this place is kind of like those old television shows but instead it is full of fabric. And no one is there to help you as you fumble through all of the fabrics. Here is a quick guide, so you do not feel the pain I felt as we tried to shop here. 1) You walk around the store looking at fabric. And there is fabric everywhere. And just when you think you have seen everything on the main floor, you discover there is a basement and a second floor. 2) When you find a fabric you want, you must act like Hercules and bring the roll down to the main desk. 3) There is a line and you must wait until someone calls you. Do not go to the counter until someone calls you. The line does not start at the counter, so go back! 4) Once you are called, you must bring your roll to the counter. The workers are on the right side of the counter and the customers stand on the left side of the counter. 5) You tell them how many yards you want and then the worker takes your roll and goes somewhere else to cut it. At least, this is what happen for me. I did see other people getting it cut at the counter but I do not think they were ordering as much as I was. 6) The worker writes you a receipt and you go to the check out counter where someone will take your money. They do take credit card too. The reason I wrote this list to follow is because between steps 4 and 5 I was standing there as a worker yelled, "Next!" Then another worker looked at me and said, "That's you...is it your first time here?" Why yes it is Captain Obvious! So frustrating to shop here if you have never been here. I am taking off a star because this place is a mess plus there was a saw blade on one of the rolls of fabric and as I was picking out my fabric this saw dug into my leg and ripped my jeans. Totally not cool. Luckily it did not draw blood or else I might be writing this review from the emergency room. Between Step 1 and 2, I decided to find someone who worked here and my first two attempts ended up with me asking other customers if they worked there. So embarrassing for me. On my third try I finally found a worker who filled me in on where the fabrics were for furniture. This place is intimidating. There is fabric everywhere. It is really all over the place. My favorite thing I saw here was a white suit that looked like it might have been worn by Sgt. Pepper from the Lonely Hearts Club Band. I honestly wanted to get it for a Halloween Costume but my wife had to bring me back to reality. We were looking for fabric. We also met Chester, during Step 2. Chester did not speak much English but he seemed like a nice guy. There was a pallet in front of the fabric I wanted and I as I tried to grab the fabric my jeans were sliced by the saw blade. Let's say I wasn't happy at that moment. Chester came to help me and seemed a little upset he had to grab the fabric roll for me. When I showed him the blade of death in our way he just plowed over it like it was nothing. I am sure Chester has been cut before but he will not let it stop him. Chester is fearless. I honestly wished he could understand me. I might want to have a beer with him. Long story, even longer. Fabric prices here are super crazy cheap. They range from like $4.95 to $19.95. We got our 11 yards of fabric, I put it on my shoulder and we walked out like an old fabric pro. In fact, someone asked me on the sidewalk..."Are the prices cheap in there?" I said, "Yes because I did not have the heart to tell them they were about to walk into the Fabric Zone!" (Cue the erie music and roll the credits)

Yelp
Best fabric store in Chicago, no contest. No need to go anywhere else. If you don't like this place, you're not serious about sewing. It's a little crowded and disheveled looking - well, did you look at the name? DISCOUNT OUTLET. Did you expect the Taj Mahal? This place is WAY cleaner than either of the Vogue locations, which do not call themselves outlets. Also, I worked in a paper and textile preservation lab for years, so I am literally an expert on this -- this place isn't musty. It's a warehouse (ps: DISCOUNT OUTLET.) You can get trimmings there for like 75% what you'd pay at Jo-Ann, and better quality & selection too. Beautiful fabrics, stuff you simply cannot find anywhere else. Staff were friendly and gave us even more discounted prices than the already reasonable ones that were marked. I will never go back to Vogue again after coming here. If you're a garment sewer and haven't been to Textile Discount Outlet, you need to check it out.

Yelp
It's true, the basement is pretty scary and whatever you find down there might be mildewed. But the first and second floors have an amazing selection of (clean) fabrics and notions, from suiting to home decor to novelty to leather. I visited a few weeks ago to buy curtain fabric for my dining room. I initially was looking for a solid linen or linen blend, but ended up falling in love with this awesome floral print I found on the second floor (see pictures!) I needed 14 yards so I wasn't sure if a lot of the partial bolts I found in solids would be enough. Thankfully they have like 3 bolts of this amazing purple floral fabric, so I knew I was covered. The floral fabric was $3 a yard and my lining fabric was $2.50 a yard (FYI, since this place is an "outlet", basic colors like whites sometimes cost more than unusual colors. I probably saved $30 by lining my curtains with a coordinating periwinkle instead of white fabric). At the cutting table, they often cut you a deal. Since I was buying a total of 28 yards, the store owner gave me a small discount, and my grand total was only like $70. It's always worth asking them to double check the price for you! This place is awesome and I will be back!

Yelp
I love this place. I could live here. It's hard to find because 21st Street and 21st Place are right next to each other so inevitably you'll end up at 2121 21st Place walking up to someone's house and trying to convince them their house is indeed a fabric warehouse. After forcing your way inside and rummaging through the scared family's closets and underwear drawers, you'll realize that the Textile Outlet is at 2121 21st STREET. And there you are. A mecca of fabric and bric-a-brac goodness. Three, count 'em THREE floors or delirium-inducing patterns and textures. The basement is absolute insanity but it's my favorite floor - take a look at the picture. If you're looking for fabrics that are organized and have visible prices, you're better off elsewhere because the system here works like this: you fill your cart with bolts and bolts of fabric and notions, you bring it up to the counter and tell them how much you want, the guy comes and tells you how much everything is per yard. Their hours are different every day so definitely check before you go. And leave that scared family on the other street alone.

Yelp
If I could give negative stars, I would. I visited 2121 for the first time this morning as soon at it opened at 9:30 am. I quickly found the two items I needed and began the check out process. There was no one in line but me and there were 3 employees at their cutting tables. No one made eye contact or looked like they wanted to cut. I made eye contact with one lady and she, literally, rolled her eyes at me and waved me over. You would've thought we were life long enemies. I'd never had an interaction with this person before. Keep in mind, this was at about 9:40am on a Monday. How do you possibly have the energy to have a bad attitude with a customer that early in the morning? Anyway, this woman was very short with me and overall negative. When it was time for me to pay she just walked away with my items, without saying a word, took it to the cashier and left it there. Being that this was my first time here, I had no idea how the process worked and she offered not even the slightest customer service. The cashier then walks up and holds out his hand without saying a word. I'm like, "I never got my total". I didn't know how much to pay. He basically scoffed at me that he didn't add it up yet because he needed my receipt. How could I have known that you needed my copy of the receipt when there's a copy of it right behind the counter, stapled to my bag?? What sense does that even make? He asked if it was my first time there and I said, "yes. It's also going to be my last because the service isn't great." He then began to spout some crap about sales people being human and having bad days, too. I've worked as a sales associate in high volume stores on Michigan Ave and State St, so I know these jobs can be stressful, but 1. this occurred first thing in a morning, not during or after a rush , 2. Both employees I encountered gave me the same treatment which shows this is one of those establishments that couldn't care less how their patrons are treated. The cashier ended the transaction by saying he hopes MY day gets better, as if I was the one with a bad attitude throughout this ordeal.

Yelp
Talk about overwhelming! WHOO!!!! Let me just get to the pros & cons. Pros: Great pricing Friendly staff Awesome selection Cons: Not everything has a price CLOSED ON SATURDAYS!!!!! Parking lot is very tiny Some fabric had stains but luckily for me, it wasn't anything I was interested in anyway! In short I will say this: I will definitely come here again & again!! Most of the pricing is better than the big box stores with their '30%' coupons. Get there early to catch to get a good park. Leave your purse in your trunk. You don't want to be weighed down with extra baggage while trying to hoist long rolls of fabric. Grab some trail mix & a bottle of water, you're gonna be here awhile!

Yelp
Labyrinth of fabric and accompanying items. I was floored when I walked into the doors here. Thankfully, I had help from someone who had been here many times, so she was able to steer me in the right direction. I'm actually not sure what I would have done without help, which is why I'm going with 4 starts instead of 5. The building is totally overwhelming - with room after room after room of fabrics of all shapes, sizes and colors. There are areas of velvets and sequins and everything in between. It's really hard to tell the prices of things as they aren't all marked and helpers are rather hard to find (though they're friendly when you do find them). In order to purchase something, you have to wait in line (look where the line is marked! DO NOT CUT!). When you're called, you can ask as many questions as you want and will get pricing. We had to ask for more of a certain fabric and I don't know how...but they found another bolt of the one I wanted. How they find anything in this seemingly mish mosh of stuff, I don't know, but apparently someone has a good memory as we didn't have to wait long for the extra fabric. Prices are unbelievable, just be prepared to search for what you want and follow the purchasing rules. Definitely the best, most comprehensive amount of fabric in the city (or surrounding burbs).

Yelp
This outfit dwarfs Fishman's, but here they sell more drek. You have to look harder for the good stuff, of which there is plenty. I had come today with my couturier on our mission for just the right tablecloth material, which she found - on the second of several floors. Closed Saturdays for Shabbas.

Yelp
I LOVE this fabric store. I have never had a problem here. Every staff member is friendly and fantastic, as well as the owner. They have a huge selection and I always find what I need. They are #1 in Chicago and take the utmost care in their customers. I will be coming here again and again and again.

Yelp
This place is a BOGGLE. Not a snuggly Popple, but an utter mind BOGGLE. 2343 floors of fabric, and patterns and add-ons and oh my god what??? Odds are if you go here looking for something specific, you'll find it. Either color-wise or texture-wise or anything else, they really might just have it. I was on a mission to find a certain type of sew on patch, in multiples, and boy howdy... I hit the jackpot. Sure, I was sitting sprawled on the basement floor going through random buckets, but I sure found it. Plus a bunch of other LOL-worthy items buried down there as well.

Yelp
Looking for fabric, but don't want to pay an arm and a leg - look no further. This place has more fabric than I've ever seen, they could probably sew at least one coverlet for the Sears Tower with it. This place is a big old factory building chock full of fabric, a fabric-o-rama if you will. You want to make a prom dress, drapes, slip cover, or sweater for your dog - no problem. When you go wear your walking shoes, there are rooms and rooms of fabric, by type for the most part, on the main floor, upstairs and in the basement. This place is not for the casual browser, did I mention how huge it was? And the employees are rather hands off so go with some idea of what you want and they'll point you in the general direction. TIP: the basement has some clearance items, you can find some really good deals on fabric - I got 7 yards of upholstery fabric for under $40.

Yelp
This place is a seamstress dream!!! Im not a seamstress, hell I don't even know how to sew. I got a sewing machine for my birthday and I'm heading to a la loteria themed birthday in a couple weeks. Soooo with that being said I'm going to make my own mermaid costume. Hopefully it turns out well. I came here for the materials my project will need aka sequins and iridescent fabric. The total cost was $27. I walked with about 6.5 yards total for fabric so I'd say that's pretty damn good. I didn't venture upstairs or to the basement. I'm a woman on a mission and a budget so I couldn't afford to get off track. The main floor seems never ending! There's room off of rooms of fabric and sparkles. I was in heaven!!! I want to back and explore another day.

Yelp
My #1 go to for fabric shopping in the city. This place not only has affordable fabric, but has a huge variety to choose from. Get ready to spend hours looking at the amazing textiles.

Yelp
Visited for the first time today with my Mom. The selection is huge! The variety of trim was impressive and the cost even more so. More of the fabrics were for upholstery than garment sewing but with 3 floors you will for sure find something you like. My Mom loved the leather section and for $2.50/ sqft the price can't be beat. Every staff person we talked to was very nice and helpful and we did not experience long lines. We will definitely return.

Yelp

Yelp
Just go there!!! You will not regret it. It's worth the drive. You will never want to go to another fabric store again intact you probably won't.

Yelp
This place is INCREDIBLE. We spent 3 hours here on Sunday, and easily could've spent another three if we hadn't been starving. There's such a huge range of fabrics here, it's practically every design that has ever been created. The people there are so nice, and not just the workers. It's like this place just attracts good people. Everyone was helpful and kind and respectful. You have to know fabric to come here though, because there are no tags. You have to know the type of fabric by the touch if you're looking for something specific. Trim! $0.55 cents per yard for most trims. Mind. Blown. Leather! 2.50 /sq yd. Tons of textures and colors. If you haven't been here, you need to go now. I'm regretting that I've wasted three years of my life living in Chicago and dreading my visits to JoAnn.

Yelp
Score!! Looking for a hard to find specialty fabric. Of course got it here. Lot of super fancy bridal and formal stuff, but they have a little of everything. Two floors of it and a dizzying selection. Not a quick trip. Too much to chose and a little out of the way. But centrally located.

Yelp
Antiquated but well worth the trip to Pilsen. I was really surprised at the size of this place. My aunt and uncle use to own a bar a few doors away from them in the early 80's but now its changed up. The place squeaks and can be warm in some spots, but believe me when I say: You can get lost in this place. It is GINORMOUS! I mean, you have 3 floors of factory and you really can't understand the size until your there. I started in the beginning and was inspired to look all over with the textiles they have. The prices can be very competitive and you will not find prices like this around. I was at Joannes fabrics in Ford City the day before last, and they can't compare in price at all. I spend way more there and at Vogue fabrics and the quality is not even close to what I saw in this place. But check out their hours of operation, for they are closed on Saturday due to the Jewish Heritage.

Yelp
All of the other reviews are true. The place is overwhelming and ridiculously large. Get a cart, pick your bolts and wait in line (on the correct side of the table) and you will be fine. Also, plan to spend AT LEAST 2 hours walking around. But the time spent is worth it.

Yelp
Killer, killer resource. This is the hugest fabric warehouse you'll find anywhere. It's definitely raw but they have everything and the prices are great. There's so much to look at -- Plan to spend at least 2 hours or you'll be sad.
