Ryuko South - Japanese Kitchen + Bar

As soon as you walk in the atmosphere will blow you away. Ryuko feels like a luxury dining experience but with modest pricing. Service was amazing and of food was top notch. Great for dates and families.

Fantastic experience from the moment we entered. The decor was minimalist and gorgeous. We made a last minute reservation and were seated at the bar which was fab because we got to see the plating of our gorgeous dishes. We had the salmon & hamachi carpaccio, salmon sashimi, spicy goma ramen, tobiko bibimbap, chopped scallop rolls, aburi brant lake wagyu oshizushi and finally, the yuzu pavlova. We enjoyed all the tasty dishes and will return to try the others. My only critique is that the spicy goma ramen needed more punch ;)

Walked in to this place to try it out and the experience started there. What a beautiful space. Menu is great, lots of options for everyone. They keep their own fresh fish and filet as needed. The surf and turf roll is a must try as well as the beef tataki. We had a great family dinner here but would be a nice choice for a date night as well. If you want to go at peak time on a weekend, definitely make a reservation.

Amazing, top tier sushi in Calgary! Fresh, perfectly presented, excellent selection, service and ambience makes this one of our favourite sushi restaurants in Calgary. Transports us back to Japan. We love the bento box available during lunch which makes it a bit more affordable. Looking forward to trying their omakase one day.

By far the best sushi I've ever had! We got lucky to get a seat tonight without reservation but you'd better book a reservation before going! The moment you walked in we were greeted and seated right away. I noticed there was a private room so if you wanted to have a private area there is space for it.

I had a wonderful first time dining experience at Ryuko and my server Sage was amazing. She recommended some great options - Magurocamole, Gindara Oshizushi and Matcha Terrine. Everything was delicious, the quality of the food was impeccable and overall was an amazing experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Probably the best meal I've had in awhile. Everyone their, the front staff, kitchen, bar and servers should be extremely proud of how well this place is ran. The food wasn't just awesome it was perfect. Our waitress was amazing friendly polite and came the perfect amount of times. Our drinks were incredible, yes they were pricey, but 100% worth it. I did some plumbing here awhile back in there kitchen and it's the one reason I chose this place is how clean and well kept it was behind the scenes. Give it a shot you won't regret it!
