This place was a great experience. Our waitress was awesome! The food was an 8/10. The atmosphere was chill and they had the heaters on which felt a bit too hot on my back. But other than that, great experience!

Great location and atmosphere both inside and outside of restaurant. Was very please with the staff and food was ok. The margaritas and drink menu was good.

Reservation for 8 @ 7pm Friday. Crowded; got us in asap but had to wait because waiter Freddy was overworked but good. Strawberry corado was little too sweet for me. Took 13/4 hours

Loved the clam appetizer with garlic bread. Best Rumrunner on ice I've had. Loved the outside seating and water view. Great service. Limited parking, so carpool

Great place for dinner and sunset!! We went on a Tues night, 6pm...not crowded at all... Jose,our server, was spot on all night long. Great guy! Great steaks! Got two of em...served with homestyle mashed and brocc.... Cooked to perfection. And the cocktails were delicious!!! Rum runner sunset and mocha something... Right on a canal with a decent view of sunsets.

The food here is generally good. But it’s not consistent. It’s hit or miss. For this particular visit. We went there for lunch. Got there around 12 noon. We got the lunch menu, which is a little different and less expensive than the dinner menu. I ordered Cayo Costa roll. It is $20 and half the size it used to be although I was very good.. my sister ordered the prime rib sandwich with a side Au jus and she said it was excellent. my husband ordered the salad wedge with blue cheese dressing and $9 and blackened 🦐 shrimp for an additional $12. my brother-in-law ordered the appetizer platter of fruit and meats for $28. It was surprisingly large and quite nice. We got a basket of bread for six dollars. And they give you nothing for free here when we ordered extra sauce for the sushi roll. They charged us $.50 for each of the sauces and my husband ordered blue cheese dressing. There was a charge for that too. The nickel and dime you. we got three iced teas for was $12. We ordered two desserts that were $13 each. We got no alcoholic drinks. Before the tip it came to $133.50. last time we were there the food wasn’t as good as it was this time. the thing about Rumrunners is they are on the water and one of a few restaurants you can go by boat. We had my family visiting and wanted to show them a good time even though it was expensive. For me it was worth it. But it’s not someplace I go regularly. It’s not worth it to me. I really wanted my sister who has a terminal illness to have an enjoyable visit.

Rumrunners is a great spot with a lovely waterfront view and a relaxing atmosphere. I had the fish and chips, which were generously portioned and cooked well, but they felt a bit heavy afterward. The service was attentive, and the vibe was perfect for an evening out. Definitely worth visiting!

One of our favorite pastimes is to sit outside and watch the boat go in and out of the bay. The cocktails are delightful. The food is always delicious.

My parents and I rented a boat for the day and wanted to grab a bite to eat. Was able to park and dock the boat. Went in around 3 for lunch and had a great time. It was super hot that day and we all had drinks to cool us down. Dad had iced tea, mom had the coconut margarita... which was awesome. Was pretty sweet. I had an Aperol Spritzer which was so good. The food was even better. I had the blackened shrimp wrap with plantains. I could order this over and over again. It was so good! Mom had the berry and cream salad with shrimp and she loved it. Dad had a chicken wrap with the Caesar salad that came with it and he really liked it. I wanted to get the Key Lime pie but it's not made there so I passed. Plus our waitress said it was gritty... no thanks. I do want to note we did come here during off season in Sept 2024. There were some people there eating but not a ton of people. Easy to park the boat and get a table. If you do have a boat or rent one you can get fuel but the restaurant is not associated with them and the fuel dock was closed at 4... not ideal.

Dog friendly- offered dog menu and dog water bowls in covered outdoor seating overlooking water. Dogs enjoyed the chicken dish ($8 and had good variety of chicken, liver, veggies, n brwn rice). They offer vegetarian options such as beyond burger, pasta, salads, etc. The live music was eh, but service was friendly and food was decent. This is more of an ambiance place but was enjoyable

We had the best patio seats at Rumrunners. The views were beautiful. The service was great, and the food was delicious. We started with the coconut shrimp, which was very crispy. For our entrees we had the mahi tacos, and a hamburger. The tacos had a good amount of fish in them, and the hamburger was cooked perfectly. We will definitely become back.

this is a perfect location for a really good restaurant... it has everything going for it, location along the canal, with space to dock your boat, very cool building, good looking staff, it could use an improved menu with some lower cost items, even maybe less items with different daily specials. I find it pricy and the food is just OK. getting your meal is always slow... So much potential!

What a gorgeous day to have lunch outside at Rumrunners! Our server, Renee Scott was such a delight!!! One of the best salads I've ever had! (Spinach salad) Great atmosphere on the water!!!

STRONG 4.5 STARS HERE.... Beautiful waterfront restaurant and full liquor bar with boat access. A local Cape Coral cop told us this place had an excellent view and great food and he would know. Sat right at the waterfront patio tiki counter. Listed to the live bubblegum music (everyday 1p - 4p) he played by my request a John Cougar song and he was pretty good. Watched boats pull right up and fuel up their boats then tie them up and goto the restaurant. The inside had plenty of wines and beers on tap. Literally hundreds of seats inside and out. Even a sandbox with toys for kids on premise. Good size front parking lot and clean bathrooms. The server Katlan was super friendly and told us the Crispy Grouper $19 was insanely good in addition to the Hazly ipa from Ft Myers Brewery. Well we ordered both and she was right, they were perfect together.

We had a group of 11 which they split into 2 tables. Four of us had the French onion soup which was just terrible. It was way too salty!! The service was very good.... Nice view of the water...

Party of 6 on a Saturday! Our server was great and all of our food came out great! They had vegetarian options a big variety of options! Great option for a big party! They also had seating by the water, live music on the patio, huge banquet hall, and traditional indoor seating!

May 2024 Food - Delicious! If you want something lite but hits the spot at the same time.. order the chicken bacon ranch flatbread. Service - On point & super friendly. Ambience - Beautiful table on the water.

I went here for lunch and was very pleased. We had a table with a view of the water, which was very nice. I had a fried grouper sandwich sandwich with French fries and it was delicious! The fries were soooo crispy and honestly unforgettable. My husband got a french dip sandwich with sweet potato fries and also enjoyed his meal. The portion was also generous.

Amazing food and environment plus talented musicians that play on the patio overlooking the water. What a view!

My husband had the French Onion soup and it was absolutely delicious, great broth. He also had the Prime Rib Shaved sandwich with roasted potatoes which he said was delicious. I had the Turkey, Brie, fig marmalade and bacon sandwich work sweet potato fries, an amazingly delicious sandwich. The service was excellent, we weren't rushed but given time to savor our food. We sat outside right by the water watching the boats go by, nice scenery. We will definitely return again. The pink lemonade was so good. Very enjoyable afternoon

Great view with great food and service. We ate lunch on the water watching the beautiful boats with the sounds of live music in the background. They served brunch food as well as a lunch menu of favorite dishes such as seafood and burgers. I had the French toast which was great. Hubby had the peel and eat shrimp which he loved. There's indoor and outdoor seating with live music or waterfront views. Our server was excellent. Such a cool vibe with an old fashioned car out front and tiki bars and outdoor activities. Located near a marina in the south cape this place is a fun place to dine with good food.

Hmmmmm.....can something be too much of a chain? Fried grouper sandwich was just "meh" and not really sure it was even grouper. The clams were just delicious and the wedge salad very good. The waitress was nice but never came back to check so we didn't get any sauce or drink refills. Too expensive to get this kind of food and service.

The food and service were good overall. I will say the Filet was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The broccoli that comes with it was cold and not so good. Has the broccoli been cooked and seasoned better this dish would have earned 5 stars. We ordered a few cocktails from the bar and they were all good. Give this place a try if you're in the area!

Great canal views and ambiance. Food was good overall: my husband's grouper was undercooked. Our waitress started off strong but once our food was served, she was MIA. The restaurant wasn't that busy. Our daughter was getting tired and we sat waiting about 20 minutes after we finished eating and my mother in law mentioned it was my birthday. She ended up finding the waitress inside to let her know we wanted the check.

The service was really great, from the hostess to our server, really friendly, bubbly staff. The poke bowl was absolutely delicious, really recommend it. We were seated next to a loud, obnoxious man who was on a mission to get really drunk, we know this because he announced it to the whole restaurant. He definitely put a damper on our experience. Sometimes patrons need to be politely told to tone it down, even the risk of offending them, because they are definitely disturbing everyone around them. We sat outside and because it felt like the hottest day in history, lol, we regretted that decision, but I am sure that sitting outside on a cooler day/early evening would be beautiful.

I had a chicken Alfredo and I asked for half, thinking that it would be a good enough portion to fulfill. When they brought my food it was at least 10 bites of spaghetti, definitely not enough to feel fulfilling. My family had gotten three burgers and on the menu sounded very detailed and delicious including that the angus was bigger in size, but once the burgers came out they were the opposite of what they thought. One of the burgers were asked for medium and the other was asked for medium well but both were brought overcooked, dry, cold, and in general just not as good quality as the menu stated it was,the burgers were less of the quality of McDonalds quality and my family was so disappointed about the overpriced food and were left hungry.

Great food, excellent cocktails. Exceptional service, thanks Renee. Two at our table had the lobster pot pie, both raved about it. One had the blackened shrimp wraps, very good, maybe just a bit too much raw onion. I had the breaded grouper sandwich, loved it, does have raw onion, but I love that. Plenty of indoor or outdoor seating, either way you can get great canal views, lots of boat traffic in this location.

Cape Harbor , Cape Coral , Florida 21 May 2023 As a party of 3 , my sister , niece and myself , we entered Rumrunners restaurant to dine. We were immediately greeted and seated at an inside table. The restaurant was crowded as it was dinner time. The patrons were dressed in Florida casual. There is both inside and outside dinning with parking available nearby. We placed our orders and our food was delivered to our table within a reasonable amount of time. My sister had the short ribs and she said they were delicious. My niece had pasta with chicken which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had the Lobster Ravioli which I found to be adequate but not to die for ( my opinion ). After dinner we all ordered the same dessert, baked ice cream. Again , both my sister and niece loved it. I , on the other hand , just "liked it. " I must say , I had heard so many nice things said about Rumrunners that I was really looking forward to my visit. However , Rumrunners did not meet my level of expectations. The restaurant is nice and can accommodate a large amount of people. It just did not , in my opinion , warrant the hype that has been generated about the restaurant. Nevertheless, I will return. Next time I'll opt for outside dinning hoping that the view may entice and excite my taste buds to meet my level of expectations for the food and ambiance. The 4 stars reflect the fact that both my sister and her daughter thoroughly enjoyed their dinners and dessert. Maybe there is something wrong with me , eh ?!

My family and I had a good experience sitting at the bar for happy hour! They had several snacks on happy hour special, so we ordered a few to share. While nothing was spectacular, they were all pretty good. We sat at the bar and had good service. The bartender was friendly and the drinks were strong. I had a delicious rumrunner true to their name. They also have plenty of seating indoors and outside if you prefer a table. Live music outside is always fun!

Nice place in Cape Coral. Of course it has that vacation Florida feel. Service was very good. Parking on site. Peel and eat shrimp was great with a cold beer.

Back a year later and what a difference there was. Service was slow and our server acted annoyed that we were there. No personality with no smile at all. our "1/2 pound" burger was definitely not 1/2 pound and was lackluster. My Paloma was the worst cocktail I had ever had. Asked for a ranch when our food came and had to remind her when we flagged her down, I had maybe 4 fries left and a bite of burger when it came. She finally told us that it was the end of the night and the servers get sat in all of the rooms. Poor management decision. Not even sure i'd go back to be honest. 2 stars is for the location and the ambiance .

Absolute fantastic dining experience! We loved the view and live music on the outside deck/dining area. Our server was super sweet & attentive. The food was DELISH! We enjoyed their coconut shrimp, rum runners sushi roll, and tuna poke. All was very tasty but the tuna poke lacked in flavor overall. Want to feel like you're on vacation? Dine here.

The steak was absolutely amazing. The service was beyond and impeccable. Everyone was so friendly and you could tell everybody was happy to be there.

On our recent work/vacation trip to the sunshine state we happened across Rumrunners one evening and were very pleasantly surprised! Great location with a couple of shops nearby to walk around at while waiting for the table if needed as well. To start the service was great, friendly staff paired with a nice laid back dining area made for an enjoyable spot to eat. I went with the Chicken Bacon Ranch Flatbread and it was soooooo good! The perfect blend of cheeses and tender chicken and crispy bacon was just heavenly. And all with perfectly crisp but airy flatbread I was wishing I had ordered two of these they were so good! Not really any ranch flavor that I noticed and there wasn't any ranch drizzled on top either, so not sure if it was just forgotten or not, but good nonetheless! My girlfriend opted for one of the pasta dishes which was pretty tasty as well (yes I snuck I bite of it as well lol). Other members of our party ordered a salad and the peel and eat shrimp. There were plenty of shrimp for the table and can say they were very tasty and fresh! If in the area again we would definitely come back!!

Do NOT come here for the food!! Music, view, drinks, service - YES! But the food is awful. Literally, a table of four and it was all bad. Do better kitchen. Everyone else - you rock!

We use this restaurant for special occasions but this is the first time with new management/owners. Sat on the deck and had a nice seafood dinner. Not quite as it was but very nice!

The food was mediocre overall. The Mahi fish tacos were my favorite of the two, however, it still didn't pack much of a flavor. The lobster roll was quite pathetic. Upon receiving it, my entire table asked "is that it?" It was very disappointing. The drinks were extra strong and got the job done. Personally I don't think the food is worth the price, but the view and the drinks are nice at this location.

I recently dined at this restaurant and unfortunately, I can only give it 1 star. While the view was decent, my experience with the food was disappointing. I ordered the pot pie, and to my dismay, the potatoes inside were nearly raw, and there was an unpleasant sour taste coming from the carrots or another ingredient. What's worse, everyone in our party who ordered the pot pie experienced stomach issues afterward. I would not recommend this place based on my experience.

Our waitress was very attentive. The ambiance was nice; we sat outside and there was a young artist singing and it was pleasant. The escargot was very chewy and didn't really taste the greatest...the calamari was okay. I had a coconut dream martini and it was also mediocre. We tried the the fettuccine Alfredo and added grilled chicken and the spare ribs. The spare ribs were delicious but the pasta wasn't very good. The sauce was very thick almost the same consistency as gravy. For desert we tried the restaurant favorite the bread pudding. It was blah I was expecting it to be out of this world... The place is very nice to hangout and have some drinks and just take in the views. We will try other things next time and see how it goes.

Went here for New Years Eve, and judging by the line out the door, this was the spot, and maybe it is if you want to be on the water, but certainly not for the food. $12 soups were small, $10 to add chicken to a salad, crab legs were all shell, chef wouldn't accommodate a request for white wine sauce. I could go on & on, just a total mess for the expensive prices. 2024 is off to a terrible start, thanks Rum Runners.

The prime rib was average or slightly better, the only option was mashed potatoes. Also, it was $54 for approximately 12 ounces. The service was OK. The lobster ravioli was not quite as good as a TV dinner. I ordered the French onion soup which came in a small plastic bowl, it may possibly be the laziest worst French onion soup I ever had, but it was only nine dollars for that small bowl. Escargot was ordered. It came covered in cheddar cheese and garlic powder. It was so weird. for $54 an entrée you do not get a salad that would be an extra $12. I hadn't been there in 15 years but the tables chairs and carpet are the same. They used to serve on real plates and not plastic also the prices were a little more in line with what was reasonable. Also as a sidenote, two tables down for me there was a man sitting inside with a full grown barking Doberman pincher eating a hamburger with a fork.

I ordered catch of the day (Pan seared fresh snapper). The choice was grilled or Blackened. I ordered Blackened. They gave me fried Snapper. It was good but I did not order fried snapper. I asked the waiter and he said they do not fry their catch of the day. Oh Well.

Food was horrible. The coastal pasta was in a soupy red sauce with overcooked fettuccini and no flavor. We ordered the filet mignon and instead they bring a ribey. Trying to tell us that it was a filet and not a ribeye. Like seriously we know the difference. Also tried charging us for a filet instead of the ribeye. Calamari wasn't cooked properly. Everything we got was a disappointment. We will never go back

This place is a rip. My first time there and my girlfriend's 2nd or 3rd and even she said it's gone way downhill. The poke bowl is ridiculous, it's not even in a bowl. Basically it's deconstructed and they serve it with these really hard "nuggets" of rice that aren't tasty by any means. It is very difficult to eat and isn't something I would recommend getting until they reconfigure how they serve it. It's a poke bowl, make it simple, don't fix what isn't broken to try and be fancy to justify the outrageous prices for mediocre food. The sushi was pretty good but nothing to write home about if I'm being honest. In my opinion sushi is either trash or good. So they didn't ruin that, a LITTLE too spicy with the jalapeño tobiko, but that might be a personal preference. The New England clam chowder tasted good, but it wasn't hot and it was as thick as Sheetrock mud. The taste was there like I said, but everything else kinda sucked. Also, it cost as much as about 15 cans of progresso, so.... Yeah, mega over priced. The smoked fish dip was meh.... And it came with the same crackers they ate on the mayflower.... Can't recommend that at all. So all in all, I give one star because the outdoor area was enjoyable for our lunch time, but the food was crappy and overpriced. My marg was average.... No photos, because my camera doesn't eat before I do.

Service was good for me. My friends soup came out late. Caesar salad was ok. Drinks and entree were tasty. The restaurant has nice atmosphere and views. Prices are starting to climb. But that's just about everywhere now.

3 things about this place: 1. I kept driving past by this place and wanted to check it out today. The place was big and had a little mini gift shop where you can buy souvenirs if you're visiting. The staffs were nice and very friendly. 2. Oysters, calamari, tuna poke, and seafood chowder were ordered. Oysters and tuna we're NOT fresh. The two items that needed to be fresh were NOT fresh and felt those items were sitting on the plate for a while. Seafood chowder was not the type of chowder I had in mind and the chowder tasted very fishy. 3. Service was way too slow and had to ask for more water before the waitress refilled it first and she didn't even check up on to see how everything came out; what she was quick with was bringing the check. Overall, very dissatisfied with this place and I do not recommend this restaurant. If you go to this place, get something other than the seafood.

Attentive staff, food is delicious. We had the fish dip, two sushi rolls, pasta and salmon and it was all delicious. Place is pricey but it is good

Warning! This is a drink review! We were on vacation and went to Rum Runners with friends for dinner. The seating was perfect as we were overlooking the water on a beautiful night in September. Then we ordered cocktails... I ordered the Key Lime Pie Martini and fell in love! This drink is so delicious I found it hard to only order two - I knew I had to save room for dinner! If this is your kinda thing then you must go. I mean, my hubs and friends said that the other cocktails were great as well and so were our meals but I just couldn't get past this drink. Living up north, well, you can get a decent Key Lime Martini up here! I still dream about it.

Nice water views + great tuna poke bowl + cold Hazify + great service + good company = perfect evening

Went to Rumrunners after a sunset tour. Sat at the bar. 3 bartenders and after 9 minutes, I had to ask if I could get a drink. Then I had to ask for a menu. Decided to just get my check since they didn't care if they had my business or not. They were not busy, just talking to each other and ignoring me. Seems like a snobby neighborhood place. Too bad because I'm a Great tipper. Wouldn't come back and I don't recommend anyone to sit at the bar for sure.

Food was mediocre. Service was subpar at best. They forgot about us immediately after seating our party of 8, which had to be hard to do because we had hungry and screaming toddlers in the group. They had a sandpit full of toddler toys, which leads you to believe they are child friendly. But anyone with children knows you get them food before all hell breaks loose, so it's just for show. Even had to flag them down to pay so we could finally leave. Not the best experience.

Rumrunners is always go to for me. I recommend a lot of people on vacation to stop for lunch or dinner or brunch. They have live music and plenty of seating. Parking can be an issue, it's just at what time of the day you go. For the first time I went by Water. We pulled up to get fuel in that turned out to be a little bit of a disappointment. however Antonio saved the day. He knows customer service and he knows how people should be treated. This gentleman is an asset to the place! There were seven of us, and we had anything from pizzas to sushi. Service was great by our wait stuff as well.

The food was fine. But last time I took the family we waited nearly an hour for food. That's really too long. I'm sure they were short of help but we had no way of knowing since no one checked in on us. We sat outside, the atmosphere was good, but I might call to see if they are short staffed prior to going back.
