"This New York import has plenty to keep customers entertained. Just don’t walk on the shuffleboard court; respect the rules of the house. Royal Palms is a great place for groups in Bucktown." - Ashok Selvam
"If you need an activity to do with your friends besides playing bags in the alley, you should know that Royal Palms Shuffleboard just reopened in Bucktown. On Saturdays (the rest of the week is only for leagues) you can reserve a shuffleboard court for up to eight people. It costs $75 an hour and each reservation includes a lesson, coaching, and courtside drink service." - adrian kane
"If you’re looking for a place where you can forget that you had to hold a lighter up to your car door this morning to unfreeze the handle, go to Royal Palms. It’s a huge bar in Bucktown with 11 regulation-size shuffleboard courts, rotating food trucks, and great tropical drinks. The courts are generally first come first served (groups of ten or more can reserve ahead of time), but there are plenty of other games to keep you occupied if you have to wait. Basically, it’s an easy way to pretend you’re on a cruise ship without having to worry about a listeria outbreak." - josh barnett, adrian kane
"Royal Palms in Wicker Park is huge and has a total of 11 shuffleboard courts. Basically hanging out here is a little like being on a cruise ship, but with probably fewer drunk people. In other words, it’s great for planning a get-together where not everyone will be drinking alcohol. There are also a bunch of food trucks, a giant Connect Four, and games like ring toss. So there’s enough going on that non-drinkers who don’t want to play shuffleboard will still be able to have a good time with the group." - adrian kane
"Royal Palms in Bucktown makes you feel like you’ve escaped winter by stowing away on a cruise ship. The interior looks like the lovechild of a rec center and a Tommy Bahama catalog, and they take shuffleboard seriously. There are 11 full-sized courts, and you can either get a team together for a league or (if you’ve never played before) the staff will help you with the basics. They also have food trucks and oversized board games, so even if all the courts are full, you’ll have something to do while you wait." - josh barnett
