Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach, A Trademark All Inclusive

Oh my God!!!! I was here for my anniversary and boy oh boy. I have worked in the hotel industry for 12 years so I know proper service anyways let me begin. |check in was so so so slow with no proper customer service. Was told to wait in order to get a king bed so we waited for over an hour just to get a double bed smh bad communication. I had no towels,wash rag or iron I had to continuously request these like why and as I said this was my anniversary I feel so bad even writing this but you guys need to right this wrong.|Jerk grill was full of unprofessionals for lunch, they don't interact with guest and if they do you have to be white,Went there at 3pm all they had was burger and mad dog which was tasteless.|Y'all need to go back to the drawing board because it is waste of money to come here.|ROXANNA the waitress was perfect at Mediterranean restaurant and also the hostess on Tuesday night those are the people you need on the front.|Breakfast buffet on the Cornwall side the hostess RENAE if it's spelt properly on Wednesday morning was disgusting absolutely no customer service and also a server by the name of TAMEKA they are empty shells working. Please give these workers some training and let them work the back for a while. This is not somewhere I would recommend to anyone and am honest about this. I have to go on the road to get food because the food here is tasteless. The front desk agents at Cornwall on Tuesday morning that took reservations were very professional.|The front desk agent that has (lis tongue) on the other side sorry about my description she was aaaamazing. Entertainment was ok but this wasn't worth my money at all. I've been to almost every hotel but damn this one is the worst thus far. Oh and we are black so maybe that's why we didn't receive any attention 😔 |

We stayed here from 24th Dec. 24- Jan.8th 25.|The property is very basic. The room 1404 smelt like pee,had to get the house keeper to wipe floor beside the bed. That took 7 days in to be done, the shower in the room is poorly designed there was always a pool of water on the floor and in the shower.Always an issue with towels. The women in the restaurant are rude most of them apart from the Montego side of the resort. They seem more welcoming no matter the skin color. Seems like our Jamaican people think only light skinned foreigners give tips. The 2 weeks I was there I gave more tips than anyone I saw. They are so nice and cozy with certain nationalities but not their own kind. Oh and the food was almost always cold I personally turned up some of the warmers. What would have been smart is to have a couple microwaves available. Food was very repetitive. I got boiled dumplings maybe twice out of the 15 days I stayed here I had to go to the Montego side of the resort mostly for my dinner,lunch and breakfast where I got dumplings..lol or out on the road. The water for coffee and tea is not boiled water but tap water heated up in water and coffee warmers that can't be good. The bartenders were always nice. To sum it up great location nice beach a few amenities,cold food, ok rooms with pool and ocean views.

We are currently at the hotel. Came yesterday, the 28th of December at 4:30pm. The room wasn't ready at that time. We asked what our room number is going to be, the answer was,"First come, first serve, as rooms are cleaned we assign them" - never heard that before. That should be a warning for things to come.|Our room was eventually ready after 5 pm (mind you, if you stay 1min after noon on the check out day, they would charge you immediately, not sure they will give as a credit for a day, considering the room wasn'tready at 4pm ;-)) and room wasn't in the hotel building that you see on the photos. It is a 2 storey building not far from the main building. The entrance from the room is from outside, and the sight of the entrance to the room was disgusting. The person from the floor above hanged his clothes to dry, underwear and such, not the swimming gear and towels - maybe someone is living there?|Now we are inside "the room", no towels no coat hangers, no TV remote,no iron and ironing board, there is a huge fan in the middle of the room, since one on the ceiling is in very bad shape. The positive in the room was the AC. It is working. |Went to the front desk to ask for towels, we were given one beach towel and one bath towel. We were told everything else would be brought to the room. You believe, because you have to.|We went for a walk and tried to have a bugfet dinner next door (it is advertised that you can all amenities of Cornwall beach hotel as well), it was a no go. It is Saturday, we are busy we recommend you go back to your hotel for dinner. So, you can use the other restaurant when they are not busy or when it is not Saturday, that much we learned. At the bar, we could get drinks, no issue. Buffet dinner was the buffet dinner. There is nothing to get excited about, but nothing to complain about, either.|So we watched a bit of entertainment at both places, and it was more than ok.|So we are back at the room, and nothing has been brought there, so again back to the front desk, and again same complaint and we recieved one more beach towel and one small, stained face towel. And again, everything will be brought to your room in the morning. We asked if it is possible to change the room, the answer was to come in the morning, check out from this room, and then to wait for the other room - same procedure as at the check in?!?|Now is the morning, and we are ready to go out for the beach, and the toilet stopped working. Went to the front desk at 7am, and there was no one there. An hour ago, I went again to the front desk and made (for a change) the same complaint with the added problem with the toilet. What is very weird for me, I haven't seen one person to write down the room number and our complaint, so the front desk stuff either don't care or they have an extremely good memory, and they remember everything. Considering that we still have no bath towels, you can decide which one it is...|I have the photos of the room, outside and inside, sigh... I guess the update of this review will follow.|

Upon arrival, check in met expectations. Staff was polite. And our room was ready. Night 1-Shower wasn’t working and toilets didn’t flush in both rooms. They would only give us 1 towel one hand towel and no wash clothes. We had a party of 2 per room. When asked for towels the young female would give an attitude. She said they had to go to the sister hotel to get the towels. 2 -3 nights were spent trying to have the toilet fixed and asking for towels . The guys that attempted the fix were nice and respectful. Food was pretty good and the staff was nice at the bar and restaurants. Entertainment by the pool was fun and the staff was cool also. This is a less expensive hotel that has potential. Please fix the mishaps and speak to the young lady about the attitude because it’s not the customer fault that you don’t have enough towels.

After having no hot water for the first 4 days in our room ,I got really ill from the ice cold showers .We complained many times with no results. We finally got another room for our last 3 days there. The resort is very clean and the food is very delicious and many dishes to choose from. Lots of activities on all day and late evening. I wish we could have enjoyed our full seven days. The resort took no responsibility for my getting sick and said that I will have to pay out of pocket to see their doctor .I was terrified that I would contract phenomena because of the major congestion and high temperatures. I now have an appointment with my doctor in Ontario on Monday to make sure that I am well. I travel very often and this has never happened. I could afford to pay to see their doctor plus I bought a very good medical travel insurance but it was the way that I was treated .I was not important and neither were my complaints nor my health .My husband were treated to a couples massage as compensation but what about our lost vacation time??

This was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at! With the exception of Wings, Rose and Energy (entertainment staff) those who ran the pool bar and water sports, and Shaquille from the burger place, everyone was rude and seemed to be annoyed that we were there! |The check-in process was antiquated and took over 3.5 hours. There is no elevator (as advertised), the room was run down (broken lights, cracked tiles, mold in bathroom), the grounds are in need of repair and are unkempt (splintered wooden boards, uneven concrete walkways, dirt from gardening left on walkways, false eyelashes left in stairwell for days), and the basic amenities (towels, water for the room, a safe, iron, etc) are missing. And don’t think to ask for anything that might be considered standard at most hotels (towels, toilet paper, forks, knives, etc…) or you’ll be met with disdain. By the 2nd night we began helping ourselves to whatever we needed whenever possible.|The “restaurants” (if you can call them that) situation is laughable! You need to line up 20-30 minutes ahead of time to get into the buffets. Once in, you are escorted to a table which may or may not have silverware and glassware. You may or may not be greeted by a “server” who will give you water and possibly get a drink from the bar for you, but you’re best off just doing this on your own as they take forever and may not come back. The food is mediocre at best and took forever to be replenished, is it was at all. The burger bar/shack does not offer the standard fare (burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, etc…) on a daily basis and we were often told “we don’t have that right now” when we asked for something that we saw someone else eating. |I would not send my worst enemy here, I would not revisit even if you paid me to! Awful experience from beginning to end! Save your money and go elsewhere!

The beach is beautiful, everything is close, & the rooms are decentnt.||Lack of beach & room towels. No hot water to shower. Room service doesn't happen every day and when it does, they don't replenish properly (toilet paper). Lack of cutlery & cups in buffet & snack bar. Very slow service at snack bar. They run out of food both in the buffet & snack bar areas. Most of he wait staff are not very friendly. If you ask for something they roll their eyes & give you attitude. A la carte not worth it. Only one A La Carte restaurant. We sat for half hour before anyone came to the table. Appetizer plates were not removed before bringing the main course, drinks didn't arrive till after dinner, didn't have enough cups for water. Club smelled like puke. Room leaked water from ceiling when it rained. No one came around to see if everything was OK. Staff in general Lack proper training.||Shows were sub-par. New Years party was geared more to staff than the guests.||There is a lot of potential if these issues are addressed. It is not a 4 star as advertised but has potential to be.

From start to finish, the experience was riddled with issues:|   •   Check-In: Long delays until 4 PM with no updates.|   •   Safety: My initial room door wouldn’t lock, and after 2.5 hours of failed maintenance, I was told to stay in the room with a security guard stationed nearby—a completely unacceptable solution.|   •   Room Conditions: The replacement room was worse, with a dirty bathroom that flooded during each shower, discoloured and stained towels, broken amenities, and beach towels resembling garbage.|   •   Dining: Buffet food/coffee was cold, items ran out frequently, and overall quality was poor.|   •   Customer Service: While initially sympathetic, staff failed to provide actionable solutions, leaving me to repack, wait for hours in the lobby, and deal with the chaos on my own.||This hotel failed to meet even the most basic standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest care. I strongly recommend avoiding Decameron Cornwall Beach. Save your time and money for a better experience elsewhere.
