Every single time I step inside I'm right back to being a 12 year old kid in a comic book store. Doesn't matter how old you are, this place will make you feel like you found the fountain of youth. Old Farts, Geeks, and Nerds welcomed. If you need a break or got a case of the blues stop by for a quicker picker upper. Its like being a kid in a candy store.

Google
a shop with integrity! i bought a box of evil dead cards from them, with many cards being damaged as a result of manufacturer defect. the company that put them out wouldn't replace them because i didn't have an order number, as they came directly from a distributor. the fine folks at royal reached out to the distributor and got them to send me a replacement box! they definitely saved me the stress and disappointment, after thinking i was screwed (at no fault of theirs). thanks again for going above and beyond for your customers!!!

Best of the Best when it comes to comics / collectibles & everything in Between. A truly remarkable place with a Phenomenal Staff that's 2nd to None. Thank you so much for the VIP treatment and I hope to see you there next time when I'm picking my 2nd round of my CGC'd out Masterpieces. Mike you should be very Proud 💯💪🔥🤙🙏👊

A true LCS on Metropolitan Ave. They've greatly improved their group of older books, which I prefer. I've been many times but my recent visit was for another reason. I moved apartments this month. I had about 25 Gemini mailers (cardboard comic mailers) that I was going to trash, but I went to the store and asked if they would like to have them, no charge. They said yes. I was happy that these mailers would be used instead of thrown away.

I have been going to that comic store for years. That one and the Montasy in FH on Austin that flooded years ago. The people are really helpful. Long before my brothers were in QMHS and well after I have been going. I have seen them at NYCC too. I read Spider-Man comics on and off and collect collectible toys. I have Wolf-man and other stuff and it has been a while but I get the Neca Gargoyles figures. When I see that they have them on the gram I rush right over. Gargoyles is one of my most favorite Disney cartoons of all time. I tend to go with my family and my brother’s girlfriend. I think that it is cool that you guys bring comic artists there for signings and stuff. I don’t really have a favorite artist because I have a lot of different art styles that I like such as Peach Momoko’s. I hope to be one of those people someday too.

I bring my son here at least every other Friday after his taekwondo. Its a great local store where the staff is fully knowledgeable on all things geek. It's the perfect place for me to geek out with my son. The downside is having to explain my purchase to the wife! LOL

John Gonzalez

Google
I love this place. Brings back my childhood and apart from that they have so much cool stuff and new stuff weekly .... I think I go to this shop 5 times a month

Jason Merced

Google
Great spot for old school toys and comics. Always has some type of signing and photo ops. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Yelp
Royal Collectibles is the gem of Forest Hills and perhaps Queens. It's a comicbook shop you want to be a part of. A shop where you know everybody's name and they're just as excited as you are when you talk about collectibles. The owner Mike is the all knowing comic guru, Bob the man you go to when you want to know what's hot and read-worthy, Diane who handles all the logistics and keeps the shop running, Michelle the Funko Queen, Tommy the master of wrestling and Dragonball, and finally Jordana their newest crew member. You walk in and you're immediately hit with a basement/attic air, the kind where there are thousands of books to sort through, statues of all kinds, toys from every era, and a knowledgeable staff waiting to share their passion. Their hours are still limited right now because of COVID so only 5 people are allowed at a time in store. They also do live sales on IG every Wednesday around 630pm EST of the week's newest releases and occasionally Funko and key issues. This is one of the local shops I come often, maybe 2-3 times a month and I spend an embarrassing amount of money here. But I'm happy to because we should support the local shops and people we love.

Dante H.

Yelp
"That's a you problem, not a me problem" was said to me by ownership when I stated damaged books were being pulled for my pull list and if possible can we make it so I'm not getting damaged books. I shopped there for 7 years, in those 7 years I have had employees forget to ring up half my order where I had to make sure I paid afterwards because the staff was so incompetant, A covers for DC comics floppies (typically 3.99 at the time)were being charged to me as 1 in 25 incentive variant prices (like $24.99), I was charged for products i didn't purchase, and was treated like shit, either because it was me, because I expected people to take pride in their work, or because I was Albanian, or handicapped. If you must go to comicbook store, go anywhere but there. Anyone that tells you different has probably eaten boxes full of Lead Paint chips cereal.

Jeremy S.

Yelp
I never thought I needed to ever make a yelp account but I guess I did. Royal Collectibles has to be one of the most stuck up comic shops ever. The male walking around with a buzz cut flirted with customers non stop and when he wasn't I asked for a price and it seemed like I was wrong for doing so. Attitude was in every corner of this shop. Will never go again. Made me feel like I was not welcomed.

Lori A.

Yelp
Great comic and geek culture shop. Social distancing guidelines was heavily enforced. Masks were offered if you didn't have one. They strictly enforced the number of groups in the store at a time. The counter people were as knowledgeable and genial as ever. The cashier even took the time to give my 6 year old a freebie with the promise he'd return with a hand drawn picture for him. I never have problems here and I'm looking forward to returning for my new comic book purchase. Gotta support our local businesses after all. Definitely, definitely, definitely shop here. 100% recommended.

Rich C.

Yelp
The staff is great and the products are plentiful! It is an Assault on my wallet in the best way.

Amaryllis R.

Yelp
Royal Collectibles is the comic book store I always wished I had growing up! The front of the store is chock full of goodies- a huge wall of Funko Pops, toys, statues, graphic novels, statues, pins, patches, new releases and a bevy of other things I want to instantly buy. The back room is my favorite. You'll find back issues and other toys there- but what sets my heart on fire is all the vintage stuff! Vintage comic books, toys, collectibles and other really rad memorabilia is always on hand. I found my 1984 Ghostbusters Ghost Popper Gun here in phenomenal condition. Beyond the really cool stuff they have- the staff is amazing. They're always very friendly and are super knowledgeable. I brought a few items to sell to them once and they were more than fair in what they gave me. Don't forget to check out the downstairs room for discounted toys and comics- it's a treasure trove down there!

David R.

Yelp
Royal is the bomb! I have been in here twice since I was looking for a comic store not far from williamsburg with more of a "homey" feeling to it since I was tired of the staff and chipped corners at forbidden planet. Upon walking in, the staff was friendly to great you and ask what you were looking for. For me I was just having a bad day so I wanted to bin dive and see if they had anything. I asked about invincible and they said its pretty popular and they are probably out but they pointed me to where everything was. They have probably the best silver age collection to bin dive in in the new york city area hands down. I went to the counter and the woman nicely said "Your not done yet! you can get 3 more books in our 5 for 20 bin" and the books I had were 5 and 10 so I just said oh wow thanks and went back to diving. They have a great 5 for 20 deal and I got some old batman books and the jim lee xmen connecting set for 20 bucks basically. Also grabbed some other books too. they have a ton of funko pops, way more than midtown and forbidden I think. Great collection of statues as well. They have grails in the back including xmen 1, hulk 181 and tons of other graded beauties. I havent been able to go to royal because of evreything that has been going on, but they have been absolute rock stars on instagram and communicating electronically with customers to put books aside and move some of the stock they have. Definitely check them out on instagram if you are looking to get your comic, pop, action figure or statue fix during this crazy time. Thank you royal family for everything. You have earned my business for life

Rich W.

Yelp
I do admit that I have visited several times! It is not as huge as Forbidden Plant but is has a lot. Great place to let your Geekness out! Friendly and helpful staff during free comic book day and Comic Con ticket sale day. Plenty of parking on the side streets.

Dan G.

Yelp
Royal Collectibles continues to be the gold standard of Comics and collectibles. Bob & Diane are some of the nicest and well informed about the business and the Owner Mike is top notch. They deserve your business and they in turn look out for the community.

Edd J.

Yelp
My idea of a comic store. Plenty of comics, TPB's, but visually full of toys and models which really get your attention. Once you get through the front, they have a great back room with toys & back issues. They also have a basement space which depending on their stock, has discounted merchandise. The cramped quarters along with the sign stating to ask to go down there gives it a speak easy kind of feeling.Speak easy feeling.

Iwannarock 2.

Yelp
I love this place!Always love getting a new comic book from their great selection. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. If you're a comic book collector definitely go here.

Jessica S.

Yelp
Store is larger then it looks with a back area and a basement. I find the staff friendly, and they will make small talk if it's not busy. Love the nostalgia of the back room. They do a lot of signings and events. It's a fun place, and my daughter likes coming. Big selection of Funko Pops, which my husband loves.

Brian D.

Yelp
Excellent neighborhood collectibles shop. Good, extensive selection of merchandise and comics, both new and old. Prices can be a little steep on some things, but they are in line and competitive with the prices other shops charge. Great place for serious collectors, but if you're a bargain hunter, you're probably going to be disappointed. Incredibly friendly staff, fun place to browse even if you have no intent on buying anything.

Christopher K.

Yelp
I've been going to Royal for over 15 years and the store is just as good as ever. I love their vintage toy area in the back, even if I don't always buy anything it's just a really cool area to browse as the items bring back lots of memories. Their graphic novel section is superb, I pretty much always find either exactly what I'm looking for or something else that garbs my attention. Great selection of Funko Pops and other collectibles as well. The staff is friendly and very helpful with any questions or advice. They have handled the pandemic well too. My latest visit was the first since the pandemic hit and I was happy to see how organized they were with letting people in the store and making sure both customers and staff are safe. I'd highly recommend them for anyone who has yet to visit it.

Tree L.

Yelp
Incredible service. The staff is always so nice, and they have a great selection of collectibles. They are handling Covid-19 exceptionally as well. Everyone is wearing masks, and they are only letting 5 people in at a time. Bravo

Micheal R.

Yelp
Poor customer service I was told certain people handle different items in the store my son micheal went and ask if he can bring certain action figures in they said yeah ask for a guy name tommy so I'm parked in my car and I call and ask for this guy they ask who calling my son say his name and the reason why and quickly they say he's not in so I get out my car and go in the store and ask questions base on a figure they don't have and I thank the guy who took care of questions and come to find out he told me his name was Tommy if you don't want to deal with a kid or his item just say no dont play hide and go seek very unprofessional never will I go there again

Ryan M.

Yelp
Simply put, Royal Collectibles is one of my favorite places on Earth. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always helpful. They are never pushy, but always willing to go out of their way to assist you. I have been going there forever, (long before comics were as mainstream as they are today) and it has been amazing to watch them grow, expand, and evolve. I am rarely able to find time to shop there anymore, but whenever I can, it feels like coming home (go ahead, call me corny!). I highly recommend the store to anyone! Comics: excellent inventory of current, silver and even golden age comics. Key issues, variants, and back issues to complete your collection. Excellent graded comics collection including "grails", signed editions, etc. They have a "pull list" service where you can provide them the titles you collect and they will set them aside every Wednesday for a discount! If they don't have something, they can usually retrieve it for you. Graphic Novels: Great collection. If you're looking to get into comics, or brush up on some essential story lines before the latest movie hits, ask for advice and they will always have an on point recommendation. Statues/busts/etc: They have a wide variety of high end statues and such in every price range. Funko Pops: Amazing collection of even rare and hard to find "exclusives" Toys: Current and vintage toys! If it pertains to comics or collecting (read "Geek") culture they have it for you. Looking for sports collectibles? Visit their sports store on the same block! It's easy to see I'm a Royal Collectibles Fan Boy. This "friendly neighborhood comics shop" is a haven for fans like me. Down to earth and "real", and always an enjoyable place to visit. I look forward to bringing my nephews and daughter!

Kit C.

Yelp
Place is awesome - you have to go back because they always get new stuff - they have a 30 for 20 comic offer for basement books... tons of trades... pull lists... toys, figures ... statues.... See Mike if you have something to sell or have special buyer requests, Diane to ask about anything.. Bob is a walking comic book guru... Michelle is the Funko POP Princess Tommy knows all about wrestling and wolverine ... Steven is your superman and "monsters" go to - the staff is well rounded to say the least (this is the short highlight reel) They have comic artists, wrestling events, celebs time to time ... lots of community give backs - family owned and operated kinda place ... and they promote local artists / companies also ... Def glad this gem is in NY!

Karen S.

Yelp
Took my grandson here to pick up a comic and we loved the store. Kind, knowledgable staff, and a good selection. I liked all the old toys and comics on display as well.

Gwen Z.

Yelp
Glad I was able to check this place out! Soooo many cool comics, collectibles, figures, etc. The staff was very helpful with my exchange and it was also free comic book day, which meant they gave away free comics & pins, so that was plus!

John M.

Yelp
I've been a patron here for over two decades and across two (three now!) separate locations. Royal Collectibles is simply my favorite comics and collectibles store. The staff is super accomodating and knowledgeable about books, films, toys, sports, wrestling, video games - pretty much anything you could think of. They're really great about tracking down requests for customers, and they constantly put on special sales and events (Celeb and Artist Appearances, Signings, Raffles). Their inventory is Herculean, seriously, you could spend all day poring over their back issue and $1 comic bins. They've got a good stock of Funko Pop figures that they update weekly with new releases, alongside older toys and collectible statues. What's more, everything is organized clearly and related by genre or interest. Their second location down the block covers sports memorabilia and gaming (Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.). Royal is one(well, two)-stop shopping for holidays and birthdays. But there are advantages to being a regular as well, since Diane and the subscription team are on the ball with updating subscribers about their pull lists, new releases, and even books or items that might relate to your specific interests, via twitter and email. I hardly ever check publication catalogues anymore since their weekly updates are so thorough! All-in-all Royal Collectibles is Queens' best LCS. This is a small business I am always glad to support and see thrive, and as smaller shops and bookstores continuously close down, Royal is something that's pretty special. So come for Wednesday comics and chat, stay for deals and events, and grow up with this place like I have!

King D.

Yelp
This shop is awesome. Friendly staff, tons of back issues and varients to choose from. They occasionly have artist come in for signings. Best shop is Queens hands down.

Gene C.

Yelp
This was actually the first time I've ever been to Royal Collectibles and I can honestly say it was a pleasant visit. Since we're in the middle of a pandemic they only allow around 5 customers at a time with an employee at the door keeping track. Glad they are following safety guidelines. I walked in and it's a decent sized shop. I didn't spend too much time browsing since what I wanted was already on hold for me but I did walk around just to see what they had. Good selection with pretty much catering to every genre. The employees were nice and friendly as well. I decided to come here because I wanted to go to a shop that wasn't Forbidden Planet or Midtown Comics. Glad I did and would be happy to support them in future comic book purchases.

Peppermint F.

Yelp
Such a great place! Been coming here for years, and they have so much packed into that little corner shop that is makes it fun to shop here! Comics, graphic novels, toys, blind boxes, supplies, everything and closer to my home than those flashy Manhattan comics and collectibles shops. The staff is super friendly too. They know their business and conduct it well. Love these guys!

Johann F.

Yelp
Very cool to see some vintage toys and comics as well as new releases. Glad to live close by and check out cool books and geek out once in a while.

The K.

Yelp
I merely went to go check out the Funko POP! and I wasn't disappointed at the selections. As soon as I walked in, I can see a whole wall of them. I was in there for about 15-20 minutes trying to find a certain one that I need for my collections. I was kinda hesitating to whether I should make a purchase or not because there was one thing that bothered me as a collector and that was the price sticker on the window of the Funko POP!. Yes, I know it's easy to take it off, but why should I do extra work? And why are the price differs from the rest? Anyways, I might be back again or I might not. It all depends if I'm looking for a hard to get Funko POP!

Bonnie T.

Yelp
Practically no customer service here and product are left all over the floor. Nobody greeted us as we arrived and nobody bothered to ask if we needed help. The entire place seems to be falling apart, physically... The walls and floors are disgusting and needs to be touched up. It is just way too cluttered in here and I could not find the funko pops I wanted with the mess.

Alex C.

Yelp
This store is absolutely disgusting, if I could give negative stars they would get -1,000,000 stars from me. You see they have huge signs that tells you what the prices are but when you pay they will charge you a different price. Last time I checked this was called false advertising. It's a disgusting practice. Never have I been to a store that does this. Not to mention, they overprice almost everything.

Maria G.

Yelp
I always get my husband gifs here is amazing they always have a lot and everybody is so helpful and friendly highly recommended!

Norbert R.

Yelp
Support your local comic book shop! This place is awesome. They have a great library full of your favorite titles and all types of collectible figures. Definitely got a happy customer with me! The owner is a great guy and his prices are extremely fair on all collectibles. I can't wait till I get paid and I can go back lol.

Dan W.

Yelp
Royal Collectibles is my absolute favorite place to go for comics, toys, statues and other collectibles. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Limitless back issues. all the latest releases and super fair prices; There's really no reason to go anywhere else!!

Mike B.

Yelp
Geeks of Queens unite, you have nothing to lose but your income! Royal Collectibles is the shit. I can't put it any other way. Comics, toys, memorabilia, books, shirts, old video game systems...all for sale! The store is quite large and well-maintained. If you want assorted G1 Transformers, signed baseball team photos, WWF/WWE wrestling autographs, a large statue of Thor, pint glasses of Marvel superheroes, Star Wars posters, Walking Dead graphic novels, and other such awesome stuff...this is the place. While not as easy to get to as Forbidden Planet in Manhattan, the amount of what's on sale and the prices are both competitive with FP. They also get occasional guests to visit, so it has that old-school comic/toy store feel. For example, on May 5th, wrestling tag team legends DEMOLITION are gonna be there. I will definitely be back. This store is pure win with all the stuff they sell! NERDS ASSSSSSSSSEMMMMMMMBLE!!!!

Gary L.

Yelp
Royal Collectibles is awesome. It's been here for a long time and I finally stepped inside to check out their stuff. They have it all! Comic books, new and vintage toys, movie merchandise, sports memorabilia, trading cards, posters, figurines and statues, and an entire basement dedicated to even more toys! It's a well put together shop that has plenty of merchandise to sell. I grew up in Elmhurst and the only comic book store around my neighborhood at that time was "Comic Quest" next to Elmwood Theater which was short lived. I always knew there was a comic shop on Metropolitan Ave whenever my old man would drive by, but as a kid, how am I suppose to get there on my own from Elmhurst without any parental supervision right? Well, as a grown man now and exploring their inventory for the first time. I felt like a 5 year old boy all over again. The stuff on their main floor is cool but what really caught my eye were some of their old school toy biz Marvel action figures downstairs. Those really brought back memories. I saw several Spider-man action figures I once owned. There were also a lot of WWE toys but didn't see much of the old school WWF "Attitude Era" Jakks Pacific toys that were made of rubber plastic. They have a wide range of figurines and statues in the back room. They have DC, Marvel, baseball legends, and more. The guys at the shop are friendly and welcoming to new customers. I follow Royal Collectibles on Instagram and they sometimes have contests, raffles, and event info. They had free pizza when the new TMNT movie came out. How cool is that? Verdict - Check it out! Whether if you're a serious fan boy, an enthusiast, a collector, or just a kid. Browse around and I'm almost certain you'll find something to buy and cherish. I was also told years ago that they had autograph sessions with some former Pro Wrestling superstars. I haven't heard or seen any here lately but if they have any of those again, I'd be more than happy to show up at one of those events.

Raul T.

Yelp
Not only does Royal Collectibles have a great selection of comic books but anything from sports memorabilia, busts, statues,trade-backs, and toys can be found here! Their comic books selection is off the charts! Great selection of back issues and if there is anything you need the nice people that work there are very helpful in helping find things and even ordering the stuff that you might need! Royal Collectibles is one of the best comic places I've been too in Queens!!

Evan T.

Yelp
Man, this shop is awesome! So are the owners and the people who work there. So knowledgable. They live and breathe comics, sports/collectables memorabilia. And they have just the right amount of each. Went there when a "big retail" store didn't have what I was looking for....and they did. I now have a "go-to" when I'm jones'ing. :D

Jacob Y.

Yelp
This comic book store is very big with many items that are in great shape. Boxes of comics are all from the old ages. Many graphic novels too. Graphic novels are all in their plastic. Comic books are also bagged and most boarded. However, the price point is too high for most of the comic books and various items. That was my main complaint but it was a huge store with tons of various items including action figures. Overall this store is a very convenient store with tons of items related to comic books.

Javier H.

Yelp
Well to be honest I have a file there and they usually stock up my titles for me. when I do have a chance to stop in and look around I always like what I see. In my case the staff has always been helpful, and respectful. I have the chance to buy online, but I just look up titles I want and they usually get them for me. I have shopped elsewhere only twice. I am a satisfied customer. no complaints.

Andrew G.

Yelp
Royal Collectibles is the place to go to when in need of old vintage comics, sports cards autographs, and don't forget the Toys. If you need it they probably have it or can get it for you. Royal has been around forever. Just ask for Chuck or Mike. Also check out their website.

'Jay H.

Yelp
My wife and daughter and I were there about a month ago to meet Comic Artist Neal Adams, The staff was extremely friendly towards us and my 5 year daughter, they let us park our daughter's stroller in the front of the store near their register/cashier, we are a disabled family from neighboring Cypress Hills BK, I haven't been there in over ten years. They have a great selection of everything collectible, my personal opinion though, they display too many of the new FAD "PoP" figures they seem to take over the store. back issues and older stuff are down stairs, no problem. All and all, great/knowledgable/friendly staff with a wide selection of products

Angel H.

Yelp
Not bad for a local comic book/collectable store. Most of the graphic novels on sale are usually 20 percent off the cover price. If you are a collector, there are actually many pop culture items worth checking out. Although there are some small press/Indie/Alternative titles for sale, the comics are mostly DC and Marvel. Good choice of back issues, and not outrageously priced. One of the much better comic stores in Queens.

Magnus L.

Yelp
Nice local shop, best around for miles in fact. And I would know, I get around! They have way more swag (Collectibles, Statues, Figures, etc.) then most but that's because they have a .com and a flourishing Amazon account. Lots of trades, old school WWF figures etc. It can be a little cramped but necessarily so, on both the main floor and the basement. You can probably do better on back issues pricing somewhere else, seriously try Midtown! (sorry Royal I'm just being honest) But for all your other comic needs (current issues, etc.) you'll do fine right here. They do get certain things amazingly fast here like SDCC exclusives, as I type this the con's actually still going on and the store has con exclusive Funko POPS! and Kotobukiya! Stop by especially if you're local cause shops like these are too few and too far between!

J C.

Yelp
Stop by their booth at The Big Apple Comic Con. I decided to check out their store after the show and really glad that I did. The have a really nice selection of comic books, action figures and other collectibles at fair prices. I actually purchased a couple of items that would have cost me twice as much on eBay. Plus, the two ladies that were working in the store were very helpful and attentive. I'm definitely going back again soon.

Patrick T.

Yelp
i came all the way from south Brooklyn to this place in forest hills queens, just based on the good reviews here on yelp and I was not disappointed! it was well worth the trip. So many comics to look through! Cheap to affordable silver age and bronze age comics! great collection of graphic novels! whole room of toys! friendly service! Need i say more? Believe the reviews! This place is great!

Joey F.

Yelp
Do you love Superman,Batman,Wonder Woman and other Super heros? This is the store for you. They have everything a collector needs including pop vinyls and they are very knowledgeable when you call. To add to this great review when I went to meet WWE Superstars there it went smoothly and was well done.

Gerard G.

Yelp
I have been going to Royal Collectibles for years and I have traveled to over a dozen comic book stores in the New York City, Long Island, and upstate NY areas. Royal Collectibles is the best combination of current comics, back issues, action figures, collectibles, and comic supplies I've come across. They have an incredible selection of back issues, including a wide variety of Golden Age, Silver Age, and CGC books. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgable. Unlike many stores, the owner is often willing to make fair deals especially if you're a regular customer. I collect action figures and comics and they've been able to fulfill my needs in both areas. They're inventory is constantly growing and changing so it's always good to go back and check them out. I downloaded this app because I felt like I would be remiss if I didn't write this review. Check them out.

Amanda C.

Yelp
I love this store. I got what I was looking for. The prices aren't cheap but they're reasonable, and you can get quality items. I'll definitely be returning.

Catherine D.

Yelp
I wish that I could give this place a negative star because I brought something from them on Amazon and they sent the wrong item and never return any of my emails. I had to pay money to ship back that item and it was delivered weeks ago but they never issue a refund. Definitely a horrible business!

Yelp
I enjoy visiting royal collectibles from time to time. They have a great selection of collectables and the staff is knowledgable and genuinely nice. It is also nice to have some store diversity and I feel they offer individuality and fun to the neighborhood. I don't purchase much but comic stores are rare these days and this one in particular has always been a pleasure to visit so I thought I would leave an honest review.

Yelp
Such an amazing store!!! The customer service is top shelf , their staff is very knowledgeable . I have been going here for 7 years , the BEST comic shop in NYC hands down . If you want to go somewhere to spend your hard earned cash this is the place.
