At Rossoblu, Steve Samson serves up Bologna-inspired delights like handmade pasta and wood-fired meats in a vibrant, chic atmosphere perfect for any occasion.
"Steve and Dina Samson’s enduring Northern Italian restaurant continues to prepare some of the best, well-rounded cooking in the city. Rustic wood-fired dishes complement the incredible handmade pasta like the lobster risotto with mascarpone and English peas. It’s all served inside one of the most impressive high-ceiling dining rooms in the city." - Eater Staff
"Opened by the Sotto people in a new development in the Fashion District (and across a courtyard from Dama), Rossoblu takes some effort to get to, but once you’re there, it’s more than worth it. Is it expensive? Yes. But if you’re looking to throw down or impress somebody important, this is where you do it. The food is excellent (get the charcuterie and pork chop belly), the space is beautiful, and the wine list will get everybody in a good mood." - jess basser sanders, brant cox
"Forget family style - sometimes, the best way to do an Italian meal is to do it alone. We love to order some cured meat, a bowl of pasta, and a bottle of wine for ourselves, and Rossoblu is the perfect place for that kind of meal. Not only do they have one of the best wine selections in the city, they’ve also got a 24-month prosciutto we’d fly to Italy and smuggle out if we had to. Those, along with a bowl of their duck ragu pappardelle with pistachio and porcini mushrooms, will make this a meal you’ll remember for a long time to come." - brett keating
"Inspired by the cuisine of Bologna, Italy, chef Steve Samson’s open, airy Rossoblu is the place for long-simmered meat sauces that coat stunning iterations of housemade noodles. Delicate tortelloni comes with Swiss chard, ricotta, and butter, while the toothsome matagliati is prepared with two kinds of mushrooms." - Cathy Chaplin, Eater Staff
"One of our favorite Italian restaurants in town, Rossoblu is offering a bunch of hits in their $79, five-course Christmas meal. They’ve got Tortellini in brodo, lasagna Bolognese, grilled dry-aged ribeye, tiramisu, and more. They’ve also got a $198 New Year’s Eve dinner for two, with even more Italian excellence; you’ll also get an optional invitation to a Happy Hour Zoom on NYE with the Rossoblu team, with a cocktail demo, a wine chat, and a cooking demo with chef Steve Samson. Order online." - brett keating
