"Dining on Oslo's Roof Take the subway-line 'Holmenkollen' to its end station and there you'll find Frognerseteren; a popular attraction to both tourists and locals. Originally a shieling belonging to ancient Frogner Manor, the building now houses a restaurant dating back from 1891. The architecture is typical of the Norwegian romanticist movement and features wood carvings of dragons and other Viking inspired ornaments. Close by is Tryvannshøgda (Tryvann is another afar.com highlight); the large hill where hikers can get their pulses going."

The almost unbearable perfection and beauty of each piece is beyond words. The subject is full of emotion, however, it's the artistic and creative mastery, the love for the beautiful, that move you to tears. What a treasure Norway has here! The whole world should get to know this amazing exhibit. The Sand brothers' work at Roseslottet is Nobel Peace prize level. Kudos to the city for extending this magnificent exhibit.

Great experience. Pictures of the real events and incidents that happened during world war II. Awesome Weather and Nature in the surronding. This location is geopraphically located at the northern part of Oslo and so one can able to feel the chill!

This is a very special memorial to the Norwegian victims of World War Two. An outdoor exhibition of paintings with descriptions about the persons and events depicted. The area is framed by five huge "sails", tall masts symbolising the five years for Nazi German occupation of Norway. It takes time to cover everything, but spending some time reading about the displays is very much worth while.

The dumbest way to spend money. A very small museum. very mediocre pictures. The condition of the museum is very poor: peeling paint on the platforms and railings, paintings soiled by birds, ridiculous installations. In general it looks like an abandoned park. For a family of 3 people, a trip to the museum will cost 50 €. We were sorry for the wasted time and money. It's better to go to the National Museum.

I visited with a friend on a super foggy day in the afternoon and we were worried we wouldn't be able to see the installation properly or get good photos. The friendly lady assured us that the fog adds to the vibe of the place, and she was right. I learned a lot from the stories and images at Roseslottet which are very thought-provoking. We got some really nice pictures too. Afterwards we had a cinnamon roll and coffee and a chat with the lady in the shop just before closing time. I didn't catch her name but she was so lovely!

Incredible installation paying homage to the Norwegian citizens, heroes, and victims of WWII. Very powerful portraits with stories of triumph and heartbreak. Most have Norwegian/English translation, but the exit has rows of portraits of women with only Norwegian on the placard. I'm sure it would be worth it to have a translator to understand the impact these women had in the war

A very somber memorial of the loss of life due to hate and a horrible regime. Very detailed plaques of the painting you are viewing. Lots of history of how Norwegian people fought to save their country and their countrymen. Very somber and stirs lots of emotions. You see many people walking and crying as they live this horrible past and the those lost to it.

There were quite a few people visiting (although it was not at all uncomfortably crowded). What was striking was the total absence of loud chatting. Everyone was regarding or reading about the paintings. This is a very worthwhile exhibition, extremely well researched, executed and presented by Vebjørn Sand. It's educational in the best possible way.
