Nestled in West Hollywood, Rosaliné offers a chic greenhouse vibe and a menu of elevated Peruvian dishes, perfect for sharing pisco sours and ceviches.
"Rosaline is one of those dark and sceney restaurants where you might bump into a B-list reality star from a show you pretend not to watch. This beautiful West Hollywood restaurant has other qualities, too: a ceviche station, lots of plants, and a cocktail bar with great pisco sours—all of which make it a solid option for date night. The menu includes updated takes on Peruvian staples, like grillled anticuchos with creamy walnut-feta pepper sauce. The larger plates are best shared family-style and include chaufa paella, which falls somewhere between the Spanish dish and Chinese fried rice." - sylvio martins, brant cox
"Rosaliné feels like it should be the place to go when you want to see a Kardashian—it’s on Melrose, its sign is neon, and it’s full of beautiful people wearing flowy things. Except Rosaliné also happens to have excellent Peruvian food. And while there's no red carpet entrance, eating here still feels like an event—especially if you get a table in the greenhouse-ish back room. Bring a lot of people so you can try every ceviche and paella on the menu." - brant cox, nikko duren
"The private patio at Rosaliné is a glassed-in space in the middle of the restaurant that feels like your own personal greenhouse. This modern Peruvian spot has lots of (very shareable) fresh seafood and it works well for a smaller group—as long as you don’t mind everyone else in the place watching your every move. Capacity: 100" - Sylvio Martins, Kat Hong
"Rosaliné has been open for a few years now, but its flexible space, good Peruvian food, and central location (Melrose and La Cienega) still make it one of the most useful restaurants in Los Angeles. There’s a full raw bar up front, a big dining room that looks like you’re eating inside a greenhouse, and a private dining area in the back where you can take team selfies in peace. As far as the food goes, stick to the ceviches, family style paellas, and any seafood that looks good. Save the rest of the space in your stomach for pisco sours." - brant cox, brett keating
"Spartina is an Italian spot on Melrose with a front patio and cocktails worth investigating, especially during Happy Hour. The best time to go is on Mondays and Tuesdays, when they do special deals on their pastas and Happy Hour runs until close. The Deal: Food specials, $8 cocktails and glasses of wine, $4 beers. When: Daily 5:30-6:45pm, all night Mondays and Tuesdays." - brett keating
