"A buzzing neighbourhood restaurant in a lively commercial district, run by a passionate chef-owner. The contemporary interior was designed by famous Swedish artists; sit at the counter to watch the chefs in action. Dishes have big flavours, a classic heart, and a wine match each from the impressive list." - Michelin Inspector

Not bad, feels kind of like where a young business professional would go when they had a corporate card.

Our first visit to Stockholm was greeted by this delightful surprise—an amazing restaurant that served incredibly tasty and presentable food. No wonder they received Michelin stars in 2024! We always savor every delectable bite, but the service was incredibly slow. It took us almost two hours just for dinner!

Google
Thanks Belle for all your suggestions and wonderful service! The XL Escargot and sweet breads were particularly exceptional! Your suggestions of aquivet, brother and sister House brand, where amazing 👏

Google
Amazing restaurant in all regards! We ordered the ribs and it was the best meat we had ever tasted, it melts in your mouth! It was very tender and perfectly cooked, alongside a really good polenta. The beer selection is great, with lots of Swedish-made options. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and we're looking forward to eating here again!

The starter wasn't good at all. And I told them so, It was really disappointing. They missed everything into he starter, it wasn't well composed at all. The main course was very good though. And the dessert, the Madelaine cookies, was very good. I won't come back but I can really recommend Rolfs Hav on the corner, their fish restaurant, it's awesome . 👌

Google
The ox cheek was incredibly tender. Service was great and we enjoyed sitting outside, chatting with locals. This place is a must visit.

Google
Excellent food, brilliant service, beautiful wine list and by the glass options were also very good. What is there not to like? The baked oysters were to die for. I really recommend it, the place is vibrant and full of life, and the Bar very accommodating for solo travellers.

Ox Cheek is perfectly cooked, soft and breaks apart delicately when you touch it. Not so salty. Same with the soup which is flavourful and tasty. One of the best Old Fashioned I’ve had, and the draft beer was refreshing and cool. Service required some patience (in their defence, it was very busy), but very courteous and professional when attended to. Freshly baked Madeleines with vanilla cream was the best dessert ever to end the meal. Price point is not the highest, but still quite high. However the whole experience was worth it.

Awesome place. Laid back atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food!

Yelp
This restaurant is in the Michelin guide, and for good reason. Make a reservation a few days' advance or you end up with the 5pm or 8:30pm dinner times. My party thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Fresh escargot with lots of garlic butter and rolls. Elk ragout was outstanding and not gamey. Iberia schnitzel and its accompaniments were all delicious. Love the way they serve the rolls standing on a skewer - what a space saver for the small tables. Server was friendly and made great suggestions. Food was not overly salty and still tasted GREAT! Good portions for a moderate appetite. A place to definitely return to next chance I get!

Yelp
Had an incredible dinner here on a Sunday night, popped in and found a seat at the bar. The service however left a lot to be desired. I had the braised beef check with came with a potato puree. The beef was insanely tender, it just crumpled apart. The sauce was the absolute stand out here though, so deep in color it was almost black, incredible rich with a massive depth of beefy flavor. The potatoes were the perfect side to scoop up all that sauce with. Sitting at the bar which surrounded the kitchen, I thought it would be easy to get the staff's attention but it was not. I struggled to get a menu, struggled to get a drink, and it was practically impossible to pay my check by the end. The restaurant was only maybe 25% full by the time I was done, and even still I could not find anyone to help me out. I had asked for a dessert menu, which they forgot to bring, and after, no exaggeration, 30 minutes I finally was able to pay. They asked if I changed my mind about dessert, and I just said no, I just don't have any more time. Something had happened with a mischarge for another patron, and they were struggling to correct the situation, so I understand the staff was distracted with that for about 10 minutes. But after 20 more minutes of no one even being around at the bar to ask for help, I got pretty frustrated. I don't usually ding service, but when no one's even around for that long, something isn't right. I still really enjoyed my food and honestly would come back to eat that beef cheek one more time. Hopefully it was just a bad night on the service front.

Yelp
Food and ambience is amazing at this restaurant. Need to make a reservation it is very popular.

Kann T.

Yelp
The food is amazing will definitely go back. The place is a bit on the smaller side so the seats are a bit tight but the atmosphere is great. The server is very attentive and is very helpful.

Yelp
Great food, service and music! The Ox was one of the most tender cuts of meat I have ever tasted. Solid 60's, 70's and 80's playlist. Supertramp, CCR, Eagles, Dire Straits, Huey Lewis, etc. Definitely come to this restaurant!!

Roxane N.

Yelp
Food was excellent! Sat outside, waiter was friendly. Had the ox cheek, escargot, the banana and chocolate dessert. My son had the fish stew and Madeline's, both very good. Would definitely recommend! Just off the main road so not noisy.

Pamela B.

Yelp
We walked in without a reservation and were cheerfully seated at the bar. The place was busy on a rainy Wednesday night, but we received great service. My husband and I weren't super hungry so we shared the Iberia ham with beans and cabbage and it was outstanding. The crème brûlée was delicious, too. What a great meal!

Yelp
Rolf's Kok is a modern European restaurant in the core of Stockholm that serves a broad range of high quality cuisine in a great environment. It had been on our list to visit while we were in the city, and we finally managed to go just before the end of our trip. The restaurant is located near a pedestrian zone, but somehow we managed to find parking very nearby. The menu is pretty large and diverse, and prices are reasonable. The interior is modern with fun touches like extra chairs hung on the wall. Service was excellent at all times - with friendly, flexible, helpful staff, prompt food delivery a great environment. Food quality was very good. I had a charcuterie and the pork chop - both great, and everyone loved their food. Overall this was a splendid experience. Strongly recommended. PS: I admit we did laugh about the innuendo inherent in the name (which means Kitchen in Swedish), but that wasn't the reason we ate here. Not the only reason, at least.

Sam M.

Yelp
I think the only way to describe the staff here is as a well oiled machine. i went with two friends and sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen. I was thoroughly impressed at how well run the kitchen is. The team had such great attention to detail and really took pride in every dish they put out. My friends and I ordered the char, pork chop, chickpea ragu, white asparagus, jamon iberico, and madeleines. Everything was delicious. My two favorite things were the pork chop and the Madeleines. The pork chop was filled with a mushroom filling and cooked perfectly. The madeleines were crispy, cakey and citrussy. The caramel crème was really good as well. Overall this is definitely a must go if you are ever in Stockholm.

Yelp
Came for dinner based on great reviews. Nice, warm atmosphere when I walked in. Lots a customers, a popular place. Ordered a local IPA while I waited for my meal. For appetizer I chose the escargot in garlic butter and parsley. For main, I took the recommended potato pancake with vendace roe. I also ordered a glass of Chablis. The escargot was nicely cooked but it missed the garlicky aroma and flavor. It was okay. I felt no urge to soak my bread in the juice. The potato pancake, as you can see from the picture, was a bit burned thus overpowered the flavor of the delicate roe. It was a disappointment. Service was good but can't say it was first class. The empty escargot plate sat there for way too long. All in all, this is a good choice for a casual dinner but not for a gastronomic experience.

Joe B.

Yelp
We had delicious and creative meals and an excellent server. She always knew when to check in but didn't hover. Strongly recommended!

Brittany S.

Yelp
This is one of the BEST restaurants I've ever eaten at. Everyone loved their meals. Between our group we ordered the ox cheek, the salmon, the steak, the seafood stew, and the pork chop. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The service was also incredible.

Caroline D.

Yelp
All around a good experience for me! From the rolls they bring out pierced on a tall pin like a spinal cord, right down to the flavors in all the dishes, you will have a pleasant experience. I enjoyed the tofu dish, wish was a delightful pairing of medium soft tofu inside a crispy outer shell. Texturally devine. There were spicy pickles and cilantro to add to the already present mixture of spices (pan-Asian, sweet and spicy). The rice was super buttery, almost like sticky rice but not quite. The soup of the day was tomato, with tons of thyme and not too much tomato. Lovely. Also enjoyed a nice bottle of Gautheron white for the table. All around, so good! Really nice staff, as well. Thank y'all!

Judy C.

Yelp
Wow, fantastic execution! I went in not having terribly high expectations because the menu read like so many other menus of Swedish/gastropub type of food. However, the way Rolf's Kok made the dishes were just sooo good that I was blown away. Service was friendly. The wine/beer/liquor list was good one with pretty reasonable prices for the quality. I've had braised ox cheeks (and similarly, short ribs) before that have been really good, but this one blew them all away. The cheeks were meltingly tender without being mushy or dry with a bit of fat in between the muscle fibers to create a silky texture in your mouth. The sauce was probably the best red wine sauce I've ever had - great consistency, not too salty, the wine not too acidic or strong, with a hint of sweetness to balance it all out. The accompanying truffled mashed potatoes were also amazing. No over reliance on butter or cream - just pure potato and truffle flavor with real bits of truffle instead of truffle oil/salt/powder/butter. The seafood stew was also quite good. There was plenty of seafood in the stew. The fish, mussels and shrimp in the stew were all perfectly cooked. If I had one nitpick, it'd be that there were too many vegetables in the stew. For dessert, we had chocolate pudding. Simple, but so good. Several other types nearby ordered the entrecôte, and I'd love to come back and try that too.

Yelp
Walking around looking for a dinner place and stumbled upon here. I sat at the bar and got a beer and the ox tail which was recommended to me by the bartender. I've never had oxtail but I found it surprisingly good and it reminded me of a good short rib. The sauce it was in was delicious and the side of truffle mashed potatoes was a good touch. It's a little on the pricier side, but for the quality and atmosphere I did not mind.

Mary S.

Yelp
This place is incredible. We came in late night and the service by Sonny was spot on. The Ox cheeks melted in your mouth and was absolutely delicious. The pork was crispy and moist. The mashed potatoes were creamy. The feta cheese and citrus was unique and great way to start the meal. Even the bread and butter were tasty. This was hands down our favorite dining experience while in Stockholm.

Cameron W.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service. You will want to plan ahead and make reservations as this place gets busy.

Marie T.

Yelp
Awesome food & Great service! One of the top places to dine when you're in Stockholm.

Caz P.

Yelp
our favorite find in Stockholm thus far!! after a long day of sightseeing, we stumbled on this place for a late-night Sunday dinner and they exceeded our expectations!! Sunny promptly sat & served us, was extremely welcoming for wandering in 9min before the kitchen closed and made wonderful recommendations!! my friend & I shared two appetizers (the veal and the feta dishes) and followed them up with our own entrees- she the pork & myself the beef cheeks... everything was outstanding!! this place is a must if you're looking for a good meal in Stockholm.

Jaime R.

Yelp
Great place for a casual and filling lunch! During the week, they offer 2 nice lunch options that change each day and include a bowl of soup and bread rolls. Very tasty and great portion for lunch. Service was good as well!

Schelly Y.

Yelp
Rolfs Kok has fun decor. They have hooks everywhere where they hang chairs and such and people hang their coats. I started with the minestrone which was not like any other minestrone I have ever had but still good. The vegetables had a bit more crunch than I expected. The flounder was delicious on its own without the hollandaise sauce. We were quite pleased with the Danish donut. Doughy inside and crispy outside! Friterade Marconamandlar 55 Deep-fried Marcona almonds Minestrone med bondbönor, sherry & parmesan 125 Minestrone with broad beans, sherry & parmesan Carpaccio av svensk biff med burrata & sommartryffel 215 Carpaccio of Swedish sirloin with burrata & summer truffles Flundrarygg med sparrishollandaise & färskpotatis 315 Flounder on the bone with asparagus hollandaise sauce & new potatoes Fläskkorv med Pata Negra, gräddkokta grönsaker & råstekt potatis 265 Pork sausage with Pata Negra, creamed vegetables & fried potatoes Dansk munk med hallon & vanilj 75 Danish doughnut with raspberries & vanilla

Melissa D.

Yelp
The cheese plate was not very good and the citrus feta salad was literally a shallow plate of feta cheese with 2 slices of grapefruit and orange on it. The flavor was good but please don't call this a salad. That being said, my husband loved his seared fish dish and I really enjoyed the pork. Both dishes were really good with wonderful, unique flavors. I would come back for the main dishes but no starters.

Yelp
An annual recipient of Michelin Bib Gourmand status it was for one last taste of Stockholm that two sat down inside Rolfs Kök, a space many consider to be one of the city's best values at lunch proving to be just that, though those looking for any sort of comfort or personal space should probably consider someplace else. Located at Tegnérgatan 41 and serving from 11h30 on weekdays with Dinner beginning at 17h00 seven days a week those visiting Rolfs at any time day or night are strongly encouraged to have a reservation or be prepared to wait outside next to the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs emblem, a limited number of window seats clearly saved for regulars as even an online reservation the second they became available was not enough to secure one for two tourists. Offering a two-course prix-fixe for 158 SEK each day, an additional seven "Everyday" items offered from the seasonal Dinner Menu, it was with room temperature water poured and businessmen speaking English on both sides that decisions were made before indulging in Bread impaled on a spike, the soft Rolls still warm from the oven and surprisingly dainty in a city where most other offerings were thick Sourdough or toothsome Rye. Happily gilding Bread with silky Butter and then dipping it into Tomato Soup, the day's appetizer thinner than what one commonly sees Stateside, it was with the shallow bowl soon empty that main plates arrived, the daily special of Meatloaf essentially Swedish Meatballs in another form with a looser grind and more richness while Rolfs' famous Ox Cheeks were every bit as good as others suggest, spoon tender and bathed in Red Wine Sauce a French Master would be proud of while the Truffle-perfumed Potatoes were also world class.

Yelp
Visiting from Chicago, we chose this restaurant due to walking proximity and good reviews. They only had a later reservation available on a Sunday night, but when we arrived we were very happy to find the place was full and lively. Right off the bat, we loved the atmosphere and warm reception. My girlfriend and I sat at the counter and embarked on a journey we could never have predicted. We ordered drinks and food. Then we ordered more drinks and food. Then more. Everything that touched our tongues was phenomenal. Truly, we could not get enough. The place was firing on all cylinders and we didn't want the meal to end. So, we kept it going. After 2.5 hours or so and most of the menu, liquid and solid, we were sad to be at our stomachs' capacities. I don't want this review to get hyperbolic, however we have rarely had a better, more enjoyable meal in our lives. And believe me, we have been lucky enough to visit many of the best establishments all over the globe. I don't know what Rolf does in that kök of his, but it works. We will be Stockholm-bound again, and we will be looking forward to Rolf's most of all.

Yelp
148 SEK for a lunch pre fixe menu. Dagens is a word you should look out for when dining in Sweden, especially if you're looking to save money but also try some fresh amazing high quality meals at the same time. The day I went, I had the choice of mushroom soup and lamb or fish. I chose the fish which came with potatoes, dill(I think), beets, drizzled with olive oil. You also get a stack of bread which is so fresh and crunchy. Every bite is worth savoring. Every ingredient is so fresh and, unlike many meals I've had in the states, not doused in sauces where you lose the flavor of the vegetables and fish. Service is extremely friendly, you'll see many locals eating there it was quite full when I went. I had a seat at the bar which I would actually recommend because you can watch the chefs making the finishing touches on the plates. Their wine list is extremely extensive. Location wise, right off the street of Drottningsgatan, which is the Main Street with all the shops and such. So you could walk right by it and not know.

J C.

Yelp
Ordered the fish here a while back. It was the best fish I have ever had. The bread tower was also very good.

Nikki L.

Yelp
As excellent as the ratings show, I had a great meal here. I stopped in for a quick lunch and even though the place was quite busy, I was seated right away and food came out quickly. The bread roll from the little bread tower was excellent, a nice crust and dense chewiness to the bread. The yellow butter on the side was quite nice too. For lunch, there were only two options to choose from, this being Friday, I chose sirloin over fried saithe (158 Swedish Krona). The mushroom soup it came with was very tasty. The sirloin was a bit on the tough, chewy side but had good flavor. The potatoes and tomatoes paired with the meat, were very good. I would come back if around here. I enjoyed this place a lot.

Lisa W.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great prices for the reputation that this place has (Michelin Guide). Being a Michelin guide restaurant means great prices for great food. We were so lucky to get a bar seating when we arrived without resos...or we probably would have to wait for like an hourish. Food choices: -Beer: decent prices -Ox cheek in red wine, braised with potato puree: the ox just melts in your mouth, you don't get many Ox dishes in America, but in Stockholm there's plenty and Rolfs Kok makes it just right. The potato puree was probably the best potato puree I have ever tasted, it was so soft, creamy and flavorful! -Pork confit: the skin on the pork was so crispy and delicious! The pork wasn't dry and had sooo much flavor -Steak with potato gratin: steak was great, great seasoning and the potato gratin was delicious One of the best food we had in Stockholm! We are a big fan of Scandinavian food!

Karen L.

Yelp
I came for lunch with my sister and it was packed and all the tables were reserved. We were able to choose between the bar or the patio and we chose the patio because it was hot inside. We came for lunch on Monday and the lunch special was a cauliflower soup with salmon or pork for 139 crowns I think or $20. I ordered the salmon and my sister ordered the pork. My sister and I both ate two bread rolls with butter which was yummy. The cauliflower soup, pork, and salmon were all yummy. Other tables ordered the lunch pasta which looked good as well. I would recommend this restaurant for lunch if you want to dine somewhere fancy without spending too much money. The lunch specials were great and I really enjoyed my meal!

Jon A.

Yelp
Trångt mellan borden och hög ljudnivå. Oxkind (med potatismos) var gott, men en grönsak hade inte skadat. Bra service.

Tony S.

Yelp
The first trip to Stockholm and I was looking for a place that was more traditional then tourist. Seen the recommendations of this restaurant by others and so I figured it was my best bet. Walking in you are not disappointed. It is a laid back and comfortable atmosphere without all the glitz of trying to be a chi-chi trendy restaurant. The staff is ultra friendly and even though we were told in the reviews if you didn't have a reservation, the bar was your best bet. We were immediately seated at an available table and well taken care of. The Laxtoast was a delicious starter and for the main course I had the Ox Cheeks. Presentation was great and the food cooked to perfection. My wife had the whole fish and was amazed at how fresh it was and easy to eat. Dessert was on point. Whole heartedly recommend this place. Just a wonderful experience.

Joakim A.

Yelp
Great place with old school high quality menu. Braised cheek of ox with truffle - amazing

Drew J.

Yelp
Highly recommend coming to here for a Swedish dinner. We came here prior to a visit to the Ice Bar, given the proximity and amazing reviews on Yelp. We were delighted that there was no wait during prime time on a Sunday during dinner and we're actually able to sit in their street side patio! They start you with amazing bread rolls and butter, loved these and couldn't stop eating them. We then had the Ox Cheek and Pork for the main course. The Ox Cheeck was great but would highly recommend the Pork if having to choose between the two, it was an amazing dish that I've never had something like. The mashed potatoes for both dishes were a bit overpowering, but may just be due to preferences. Would definitely come here again once back in the Stockholm area!

Nushin K.

Yelp
We have been going to Rolfs for years. The quality remains excellent and the staff is terrific. If you appreciate exceptional food, Rolfs is a must. Still our favorite restaurant in Stockholm.

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
4.5, but rounded up since I'm feeling nice :) Excellent fish stew and very friendly service. I loved that the stew is more like a bisque with loads of fish and vegetables. Very fresh fish. I probably could have had this everyday during my trip. The ox cheek was a little too rich for me, but luckily it was my hubby who ordered it and he loved it. Dish came with a generous side of truffled mash potatoes. Lots of local beer on tap! And very efficient and fast service.

Antesa J.

Yelp
Oh man. Oh man oh man. You know when you have eater's remorse when you order a thing and it's amazing and then another things passes by you because you so cleverly sat right next to the kitchen and you wanna eat that thing too and before you know it you realize you've energetically eaten all the things? I ate all the things at Rolfs Kök, and they were delicious. One of the best meals I've had in a long long while and certainly in Stockholm. Pro-tip: Sit at the bar and bring a napkin to clean up your drool.

Ryan S.

Yelp
First dinner in Sweden and I couldn't be happier. Super friendly staff who seated me right away at the bar with a great view of the kitchen. I started with the raw oysters which came out promptly, followed by the pork sausage which was served personally by the chef. The chef made small talk, further solidifying the friendliness of the entire staff, and checked in later to make sure everything was good. The waiter checked in at just the right times - not too frequent, but not letting me feel left behind. And of course the food was delicious. The presentation was exceptional, and pride could be seen in the dishes. Despite sitting at the bar and next to the kitchen, the noise level was quite tolerant. It's no wonder this place was rather busy on a Monday night in March.

Kenneth Y.

Yelp
I decided to come here because of its place on the Michelin guide as a Bib Gourmand restaurant. It's located near a huge shopping area and a not-so-short walk from major places. Walking in, the inside is dimly lit and has a pretty bustling atmosphere. It's a bit cramped though. Unfortunately, service wasn't good at all. We had two separate waiters come to us, and they were both incredibly unenthusiastic and a little passive aggressive in their attitude like we were inconveniencing them. It was also a little hard to understand them. They didn't really come to us unless they were bringing food, and the food came out pretty slowly (like 20 minutes for the main dish to come). [FOOD] Oysters à la Rolfs Kök: I highly recommend this starter. You get 3 oysters that are baked to perfection and a house-made hot sauce that's very good. This was scraped clean easily and quickly. Pork Confit: The meat itself was okay. The very bottom is a little tough to chew, and the rest is fatty and oily. It's also slightly salty. The skin was cooked so it was super crispy but impossible to cut and a little hard to chew. The cabbage was okay. The roasted garlic mashed potatoes were good. The onions were probably the best part of this dish to be honest. Red Wine Braised Cheeks of Ox: The meat was super tender and melted in your mouth. You could definitely taste the red wine. The truffle mashed potatoes that accompanied tasted heavily of the truffle; because I like the taste, I enjoyed it. The meat was a little weird though and didn't taste amazing for me, only good. Kellerbier: This is the first beer on tap. Either I'm getting super used to the taste to beer, or this was really good. I really enjoyed it, and it's not incredibly expensive. [OVERALL] I feel really bad about giving a 3 star rating, but my experience here just wasn't great. It was average at best. The service could have been better, and the food wasn't that great aside from the oysters and beer. The final bill came out to 841 SEK, so if you come here for dinner, expect to pay something.

Chris C.

Yelp
3.75/5 - Pretty good, but I was expecting more from a Michelin Guide ---- Oyster (5/5) - Incredible combination of juicy and sweet with just the right amount of brininess. Waiter said they were from Normandy. Had I known what lay ahead, I would have just gotten two dozen and called it a day. Farmstead variant was also quite good, but the additions masked the oysters original flavor just a touch. Herb Salad (2/5) - Firm tofu with some loose nuts and croutons served with a spicy, thick sauce reminiscent of a low-par ketchup-y General Tso's. Topped with a mix of chives, mint, and other. By far the weakest dish due to the overpowering sauce and uninspiring herb mix. Caviar (4/5) - Good, not extraordinary. Venison Tartare (4/5) - Tasty combination of flavors, but I expecting more flavor and gamey-ness from the meat on its own. The venison did not contribute much beyond texture. Service Note - There was a mixup where the waiter recommended the Herb Salad and I had accepted it thinking it would be an addition. After informing him that I was still expecting the tartare, he apologized for the mixup and had the salad struck from the bill.

Yelp
We have tried a couple of places in Stockholm, and this place is easily the best we visited. The atmosphere, the food, the price, and the service were all five stars. The service was very impressive. The waitress replaced the empty place with another round of fresh bread within seconds. She also gave us another full bottle of water before the bottle was even empty. One time I accidentally dropped a tiny piece of food into my water cup, and she brought me a new one filled with fresh water before I even said anything. This was some level of service I had never experienced at a restaurant this price level. The food was also top notch. Even the bread and butter were amazing. I really liked the foie gras sausage and the fish stew. The Madeleine cakes were nothing like the prepackaged crap I usually get in grocery stores. The food was impeccable.

Yelp
Are you looking for a tasty lunch deal in Stockholm? Well, this place might have your answer. This place has a 140 SEK lunch special, where you could get an appetizer and an entree. The appetizer and entree are different depending on the day of the week. Since that day was a Friday, the lunch special consisted of Gazpacho soup as the appetizer and the entree was either fish and chips or flank steak. I chose the flank steak as my entree. The gazpacho had a good garlic-like flavour, and served as a great complement to the bread that was provided. As for the flank steak, it also had a great flavour and tenderness. Another dish I sampled was the salad with mozzarella cheese. My friend said he didn't like the cheese, and after tasting some of the cheese, I thought it tasted a little strange, so that's one dish that I might not recommend. Atmosphere is cosy and I had some great conversations with my travel companions. Interior felt like I was in a modern and contemporary restaurant situated on an old street. The service was decently good and the staff was fairly helpful. We paid our bill at the bar since some of us were paying separately. Overall, if you are looking for a reasonable lunch deal in a city like Stockholm, this place is a great choice. This place was probably one of the most enjoyable restaurants I have been to in Stockholm and I thought I found a pretty good deal during lunch.

Cliff L.

Yelp
The food is a clear 4.5 points. It is really the thing you come to this establishment to enjoy. They have a quite thorough beverage menu with everything from white wine to a cranberry juice. Michelin guide restaurant. The interior is nice and cosy and the restaurant is often fully packed with both regulars and tourists. They have both seats inside and (heated seats) outside. Restrooms are clean but a bit hard to find. Green door on the side of the bar. Let's get to some of the negative points. Textile napkin were very old, washed too many times and is starting to lose its form and color. Few smiles from personnel. Bread a tad taste less, have had a lot better in Stockholm.

Yelp
My wife had the on-cheeks w/truffle mashed potato meal and I had their seafood stew. She loved her meal - I'd give the mashed potatoes a 4, but I didn't order them; my wife did. Her and I make an awesome seafood stew for winter family get togethers in Oregon, and are very familiar with what goes into a successful seafood soup. These guys have MASTERED it. It was at least as good as our home made recipe and probably, truthfully, a bit better. Their customer service was exemplary and the entire episode was by far the best Nordic dining experience we've had in the 6 days we've been traveling around this part of the world. Do yourself a favor and try this place. It was superb. Call for reservations one or more days ahead of time. You can walk up before 7 and wait at an outside table for a bar seat like we did. The co-owner we met treated us like VIP's and was extremely gracious. Even though we are Americans.

Yelp
Booked a table about 2 weeks before arriving in Sweden, and i'm glad i did. Rolfs Kok served a great meal - my friends and i ordered: Oysters (these were a bit on the small size) My old fashioned was underwhelming IPA beer was pretty good Gnocchi (these were amazeballs of potatoes and cheese) Bone marrow (nice and hearty) Cod? (Fish was hella fresh) Beef cheeks (broke apart with the touch of my fork) And pork confit (the skin on this was too chewy. I think i'm just too used to the crunchy skin on chinese roasted pork) This was our first evening in Sweden, and we didn't know tip was already included so we added 20% on this..Americans, amiright This would have been a five star experience if the couple (in their 50s) at the table next to us didn't glare at us during the entire time, until they got up to leave. One of them even spilled an entire glass of red wine on herself. I handed her all three of our napkins (out of common courtesy), and her nose still hung in the air without ever saying thank you. I guess a Swedish way of saying, thank you, is to hold out your hand while you turn your head the other way. Oh, well. The food here was good though!

Yelp
Excellent food- a limited menu but food done exceptionally well. We throughly enjoyed our late lunch. Highly recommend the seafood stew and the ox cheeks- the accompanying truffle mashed potatoes were heavenly.

Yelp
What a hip place! At lunch time, they were packed with couples and business lunches. We were lucky enough to have snuck in without a reservation, but the wait staff was reluctant about it, so I would definitely recommend making reservations! Even for lunch. Of course we started with the bread tower! The lunch menu is pretty pared down if you get the lunch set menu. I had the fish special and the mister tried the steak dish. We both loved the celeriac soup that came with the set menu. We also agreed that the fish dish was better than the steak, but the steak on its own was pretty good, just not as good as the fish that day! Everything was high quality and had a nice twist to it to make it more than just standard Swedish fare. Overall, the food here was tasty and it was worth the struggle to get a table. It is a bit pricey, but the ambiance and neighborhood make it worth it. Make sure you check out the weird bathroom situation. I'm very comfortable with my partner, but not that comfortable! But if you are, then by all means use the side by side toilets.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant. Great vibe, food and service. Kitchen OPEN until midnight. Sturehof is not the only place for "late night" dining in Stockholm.

Yelp
It was nearly full when I arrived for dinner on a Sunday night. I was seated immediately at the bar and quickly got lost in the wine menu. I ordered a pleasant glass of Nebbiolo. The special was white asparagus with sweet breads. I love white asparagus, but not sweet breads, so I got the regular appetizer (with prosciutto) and it was amazing. I had entrecôte for my main. The steak was very tasty. I prefer less fat, so I cut some off. The server seemed concerned, but the steak was as expected. It came with delicious scalloped potatoes. I finished with a fruity local session IPA from Nya. Service was great, food was excellent, decor is nice, price seemed a bit high, but I'm not too familiar with the cost of eating out in Stockholm.

Yelp
Our first meal in Stockholm was here. We were lucky to get a table on a weeknight as it was packed full. We ordered a half dozen oysters, wine, grilled reindeer steak and braised oz cheeks. Service was quick and polite. Food was very good, especially the ox cheeks. Very good first impression of Stockholm's dining scene
