Google
A very unique candy shop with great variety to choose from. There are candies from all eras and even some with weird flavors, such as Bacon flavored Soda, Enchiladas Soda, and so on. We bought just a couple of items for our nephews but even if you don't like candies, it's a place worth visiting just for fun.

This was such a fun place to shop. So many taffy and soda options. Tons of different and I retesting candies. Lots of cool signs for sale too!

Google
Very cool candy store. Huge selection of candies and sodas. Look for their offbeat sodas for a nice chuckle. They have sugar-free candies in one area. I wish they would also have their sugar-free sodas in one spot too. Very clean store, nice atmosphere. Staff was friendly and very helpful.

Good selection of rare sweets and candy if you’re in Dallas this is an interesting place to stop and look around

This place is rad! Like walking into a time bubble. Retro everything! I loved the tin posters I took pictures of a lot as personal memes, and the candy selection is the best. If you are looking for retro memorabilia this is for you!

Google
Extremely helpful and friendly staff punctuate the awesome selection of sodas and candy at this place. Both times we've come the staff have happily helped us pick out a new soda to try, and were talkative and personable the whole time. If you are in Deep Ellum and in need of a good soda, this is the place to stop!

Yelp
What a fun and interesting candy shop! There was a ton of candy I have never seen before and some that I haven't seen in forever that brought a feeling of nostalgia. Very fun to look around at and have fun with, but the prices for some of the items was absurd (especially when it's movie or tv show themed). Some of the candy was expired, unfortunately. I'm not sure if that's because they buy it close to the expiration date to save money or if the candy has really been sitting on the shelves that long. Would've loved to try some of the unique drinks they had. Maybe next time if I'm ever in the area again.

Matthew W.

Yelp
I've been to many, many candy stores and haven't seen one quite like this place. It's unique in that it caters almost exclusively to the candies of old - everything that I thought had been out of circulation or very rare were in this store! Bit o honey, Reeds butterscotch, and Mars bars were just a few of the old school candies for sale. And unique treasures were to be found as well; spicy bbq Pretz, all sorts of Kinder chocolate, and even candy crickets! Really, if you're in the market for hard-to-find sweets, look no further. Bottles of interesting fizzy drinks (think salad dressing and bacon sodas) line the shelves, and archaic comic book/music posters of the 50s and 60s era stand proudly on the walls. It's very, very well organized and well-decorated inside. They don't have much in the ways of modern candies like Snickers and Twix, but you can basically find those anywhere. And it's not exactly cheap, given their wares. However, like a museum, this anachronistic time machine is a place you can browse for ages, either for nostalgia or exploration. And unlike a museum, this place makes a great shop for interesting gifts too. I'd highly recommend giving this place more than one visit.

Yelp
A shopping trip down in Deep Ellum led us to find this gem. The candy selection is next level and the drink selection out of this world. They have those crazy flavors you see on YouTube! We just got the safe sugar pick me ups so didn't grab anything too crazy. We will definitely make this place a stop when in Deep Ellum again. Staff was super nice and the prices are great for the crazy bottles of flavor. They also off multibottle prices! We also grabbed some candies and hot toothpicks I haven't seen since my elementary school days back in the late 80's! Great place!

Yelp
Great soda and candy store in Deep Ellum. Filled with every type of Candy item and gifts. One of the largest selection of bottled sodas in Dallas.

Debra K.

Yelp
Not just a candy store and soda store! Need a mask? Got it. (They even have the zombie horse option.) Need some retro looking concert posters? Check. What about some cool tin signs? Yep, it's another great place to browse in Deep Ellum.

Melinda S.

Yelp
We spent at least an hour in this crazy store!!! It has the craziest things! Weird candy, bandaids, mints, etc. We had a good laugh.

Nick C.

Yelp
Went for the salt water taffy was not disappointed. So many flavors. I highly recommend the maple bacon flavor. It would be 5 stars but a few of the flavors I got really stuck to the wrappers pretty hard. I put it in the fridge. It helped some, but still lost alot of taffy to the wrapper

Ashley H.

Yelp
Incredible selection. Had everything my little wizarding world heart could want. The gentleman at the front was SO nice. And they take Apple Pay! Made me feel secure to know they took my preferred payment type.

Dee V.

Yelp
I have a hard time choosing a rating because while this store is loads of fun and is super nostalgic, it is still a candy store. When I go, I go to buy candy I can't find anywhere else. I've stopped going in recent months because the candy is always stale. Why is it always stale? Some of it is unwrapped, sometimes it's sticky but generally stale. I really hate that because this place is so fun but if the candy isn't edible, I can't go back.

Kimberly J.

Yelp
After visiting Pecan Lodge, Rocket Fizz Deep Ellum caught our eye and we decided to drop by. The employee was super friendly and we had a lovely conversation. There are lots of different types of candy, sodas, vintage signs, bobble-heads, etc. in here. The set up is very fun and we felt like kids at a candy store again. If you're looking for a gift for someone or a sweet treat for yourself, this place has a lot of variety. B is a huge fan of different kinds of sodas and loved this place! Great place to visit.

Chelsea M.

Yelp
Service is good and soooo much nostalgia! I come here often to feel like the inner child I am lol. If you need anything you haven't seen since you were a kid, and crazy flavored craft sodas, this is the place for you!

Marlena K.

Yelp
I took my 6 year old granddaughter in the candy shop for a fun experience. she picked out something. she does have food allergies but I could NOT read the ingredients as they were written in dark gray on a red background (See picture). her mom used a magnifying glass and bright light to read them and decided she couldn't have them. easy enough right? just go exchange for something else. no. it isn't allowed. it was and still is sealed in the original package not bent or damaged in anyway. the candy was expensive but now she can't even enjoy it. just bad business all the way around. would never go back! candy stores are for kids but not this one. jerks

Belynda H.

Yelp
This place was legit! My friend and I were visiting the city of Dallas and stopped into Rocket Fizz after having lunch at Pecan Lodge. It's in Deep Ellum on Main Street, which is a very nice and artsy area. Inside the store are 1000s of variety items from bottled soda, vintage and modern candy, merchandise, and accessories. It's very overwhelming when initially walking in. The interesting thing that I loved was that it wasn't just vintage candy being sold it was pretty much every candy you could think of to the newest release. The bottles soda was crazy! I'm sure there have to be more than 50 different types of sodas. My friend bought the Bruce Cost's Pomegranate Ginger Ale which was very light and flavorful with a subtleness to the ginger. It was pretty amazing. We would have bought more but we were catching a flight later. Mario was working that day and he was very helpful in recommending us different types of sodas that we would like and finding candies that we may love. He brought great energy to the experience which was pretty nice. If your ever in the area checking out some of the other restaurants stop in to Rocket Fizz and get a little something to quench your thirst or for your sweet tooth or both.

Bruce K.

Yelp
Sugar, sugar, sugar. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Rocket Fizz has candy. Lots of candy. Brands you might have heard of and some that may be new to you. It's not terribly expensive and for the family crowds that sometimes inhabit Deep Ellum, neat. They also have sodas. Lots of different flavors of that too. All sorts of off-brands and some of the big ones, too. And metal signs appropriately worn and aged. It's a neat little shop and I'm sure you'll find something. I did.

Teisha V.

Yelp
Super cute candy store with lots of fun bubbly options. The staff was very friendly and we bought a bacon - soda to be silly. It tasted like it had burnt bacon flavor but the experience was fun. You should stop in and try it

Stacy A.

Yelp
After we left Pecan Lodge for dinner we were stuffed and wanted to walk off the food for an hour. We thought we'd explore deep Ellum and one of my kids yelled "candyyy storeee!!" What could I do but give in for the sake of exploring uncharted territories. Upon entering you see tons of masks, life size cut outs, all kinds of novelties and every kind of candy imaginable! I loved how they had 2 sizes of bags you could fill to the top at one price. $6.99 and $8.99. We decided on the $6.99 bag and it was way more candy than we could eat. My 4 year old was excited to get a candy dispenser that had her favourite princess Repunzel on it for $8.99. They had a huge selection of soda. They were like the ones you'd get at Pops in Oklahoma such as the Jones brand and name tags that had comical names on it. All in all we had a great time exploring this store!

Curt C.

Yelp
I bounce off the walls for this place! This place makes me hyper, Hyper, HYPER! Sugar everywhere! This place is amazing- they sell candy from all over the world- Need Australian licorice for some reason? They've got it! They've got all the retro old brands that might have been sitting in a bunker somewhere for the past 50 years or so, but it still looks fresh! Don't go for the usual Hershey's bar here, go for the incredibly hard to find sweet. They've also got the largest soda collection I have ever seen. Honestly, they've got scores of different flavors- including all the weird flavors. Need corn flavored cola? Bubble gum soda? Bacon flavored pop? Unfortunately, I didn't see Mentos to go with Diet Coke (Nothing is diet here) They've also got a limited selection of toys that'd go great with all the sugar you get here. Score! They also sell retro metal signs for your man cave or she-shed. This shop is in Deep Ellum, and open late!

De Amber P.

Yelp
Cute little candy shop in Deep Ellum. I always stop by just to have a walk through. They have some really interesting stuff to look at. A lot of throwback candies we haven't see in a long time. My last visit I actually purchased a bag of miscellaneous candies for $5.99. Not bad at all. The Customer service was great. I'm a little upset on their selection of bulk candy. But it's okay. Of course I will be back. If you're in the area, you have to come check it out!

Helena S.

Yelp
Super cool hipster candy shop in Deep Ellum They have literally every type of candy you could want. Walking in, you see an explosion of color all over the walls and tables. They have a variety of everything, multiple flavors & even sell cool sodas. Parking is horrible, typical Deep Ellum, but if you find a parking meter nearby, consider yourself lucky. They also had cool " Stranger Things " decor up too.

Ray F.

Yelp
I happened to see this on my walk along down the street. It was quite interesting and colorful so in I went with my date. The Place was crowded with folks like me, looking to see what was there. I found just about every candy I had ever had! Some are no longer popular ones but were favorites 50 years ago. I was amused at all of the various sodas they carried. In a future visit, I'll have to pick up some of the odd ones to put in the fridge to bring smiles to my guests. I left smiling.

Sargam B.

Yelp
In my mind, I'm transported into the 60s as I walk into this shop. A wide assortment of candy and a store that could easily have been passed off as the "soda pop shop down the street" back in the day when perhaps Jackie or Kelso were growing up. You feel like a giddy little kid walking into this store and you stand in awe as you take in all the variety of candy and soda you see across the room. There's old school memorabilia on the walls including vintage signs you can purchase. You'll see a selection of old-fashioned candy that you forgot existed along with the new kind that you didn't know existed. It definitely has a lot of novelty items you wouldn't expect to just find in any shop. An authentic place like this would be the #1 spot to go to for the best candy/soda. The guy at the register was super friendly and let us grab soda bottles to drink as we walked around the shop filling up our basket with all sorts of candy. The prices were reasonable and I'm sure everyone can find something to reminisce over and devour here. I scored some whoppers, Harry Potter candy, sour gummies and yummy soda! Make a quick stop here if you're in the area!

Kendra M.

Yelp
I looooove this little candy and soda pop store. I try to always stop in when I'm in Deep Ellum. They have so many unique candies from all over the world as well as just about every flavor of pop (soda? coke? I'm a Midwesterner, leave me be) that you could ever want...and plenty that you don't want (looking at you, barf flavored soda). They even have local Michigan Faygo and Vernors! Prepare to spend at least 30 minutes in here browsing the options and another 10 deciding which one to buy!

Adam D.

Yelp
Exotic candy and soda shop, including things I've never even heard of, such as Kim Jong Il's nuclear orange bomb. Hopefully the producer of that beverage doesn't ever plan on visiting North Korea. This place is clearly a specialty shop that doesn't cop out by selling individual pieces of candy made by the usual suspects. It's worth a stop, even if candy and soda aren't your things. The colors will likely lure you in regardless.

Matthew B.

Yelp
Rocket Fizz is a distinct jewel in Deep Ellum. It's always a treat when we are walking around and realize we are close by. There is so much fun stuff inside. All the variety of candy and kitschy things you heart desires. Be sure to hit up the wall of taffy and fill a bag up with deliciousness. A great place to bring visitors from out of town.

Yue W.

Yelp
SUPER fun candy shop that will make your mouth water and also have your stomach hurt from laughing at the ridiculous items that surround the store. My favorites were the various soda bottles. Everything from Korea leaders to gross flavors existed within the store. I really liked the various taffy flavors and filled a bag up to the brim for my friends and coworkers in NYC.

Dan S.

Yelp
Awesome Candy Shop that has a ton of variety - both new candy and candy I remember from when I was a kid that is more difficult to find now. As with other specialty type Candy Shops, the prices are a bit high, but that's how they are able to maintain their variety.

Alex M.

Yelp
Very cool place for soda connoisseurs and candy lovers! My son loved this place and their pickle flavored cotton candy.

Mai N.

Yelp
Cute store! We had dinner in a neighborhood and decided to walk around. We saw this store, and it looked interesting, so we went inside. Wow! They have so many different kinds of candies and sodas! If you like sugar, you will like this place.

Eddie G.

Yelp
I love visiting candy stores, this place brought back a lot of memories and nostalgia for me. They have all sorts of candy , old and new and also a great selection of soda pop, interestingly enough they have a mustard flavored pop... The clerk's were nice and thoughtful, great place to load up on candy and other nostalgic items

Rick B.

Yelp
Cool shop in the heart of deep ellum, with the widest variety of strange drinks outside a bodega - luke a non-alcohol mixology speakeasy! From 29 kinds of root beer, to the oddest collection of energy drinks, from weird candies to unusual old-school posters, this shop will catch your eye snd wallet. Get a mix-and- match 4-pack of drinks for less than $10! We did, and we will fo it again!

Erica A.

Yelp
Cute little candy store right in the middle of Deep Ellum. They have a ton of candy and even some throwback candies you don't see at the grocery store. Tons of soda pop options and little gag gifts everywhere. A fun place to stop and get your sweet fix. Grab extra to take home for the next day.

Cara C.

Yelp
Fun, fun, fun! That is the best descriptor I can come up with for this fun addition to Deep Ellum! Carbonated beverages, candies, toys and gifts grace the shelves and cases, leaving all who enter with a sense of childlike wonder. To start with, Rocket Fizz is filled with sodas (or pops, depending on what part of the country you come from) of every flavor imaginable. Yes, they have your usual root beers and colas (a full fridge of different varieties of each, in fact), but they also have a plethora of flavors and styles you've probably never imagined, or have maybe just seen antique signs for. New York Seltzer?? I didn't know they still made those... Organic cane sugar sodas, so I can pretend it's actually healthy... Dictator-themed varieties with hilarious (if dark) names like Kim Jong Ill's Nuclear Orange Blast and Fidel Castro's Havana Banana sit next to Ranch Dressing, Bacon or Peanut Butter & Jelly flavored sodas... The possibilities here are wildly entertaining! As for the candy, there are the classic five and dime type candies like salt water taffy and classic movie candies in vintage style packaging. There are also imported candies from Europe such as Germany's Ritter Sport chocolate, British Smarties and Aero bars, and Turkish Delight. Then there are those super fun ones from childhood like giant Pixie Stix, candy necklaces, Zotz and PopRocks. If you're on a diet, you can still have fun at Rocket Fizz though, because they have a fun and humorous selection of gift items as well. Vintage style signs that grace every '50s themed place cover the walls. There are bobble-heads of Star Wars characters and superheroes. Kooky items made by Fred and Accoutrements including Squirrel Underpants, hands for the tips of your fingers and an inflatable Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner are in abundance, also providing plenty of laugh therapy during your visit, and who doesn't need to laugh a little more?? Even if you are just in Deep Ellum for a few minutes, it's worth the stop. I really want this store to stick around awhile...

Kevin G.

Yelp
O.k., so Rocket Fizz is an awesome little shop, especially if you've got the kids with you or your sweet tooth just needs to be satisfied. But, how smart are they to be parked directly across the street from the best BBQ in Dallas and that giant line of customers each day!? Anyway, this little hipster shop has all kinds of sweets to satisfy any palette; chocolates, lollipops, candy bars, all kinds of sodas, bubble gum, hard candy, you name it, they've probably got it. Rocket Fizz has tons of brand name stuff, but also has some eclectic and local brands as well to shake things up. Included are some other trinkets, like metal signs of pop culture ranging from Batman, the Rolling Stones, all the way to the Stooges. Pretty cool place, and the employees are very knowledgeable and willing to step in and help you find that perfect treat you're looking for. Not to mention, the prices are quite reasonable and a sawbuck will go a long way in this unassuming shop. It's definitely a must visit when you're down this way. I will pop in every time I'm in Deep Ellum for sure. But, probably for dessert after grabbing some of that brisket across the street first.

V U.

Yelp
Wow, these guys got everything! They had a few things that I've been searching for for years!

Kristin W.

Yelp
Yes!! Yes!! Yes!! Loved this store. The guy behind the counter was as sweet as his candy. Old school Taffy, long boys,bit-o-honey and tons more. Even international treats like Kinder and Ritter Sports. I bought way too much candy...oh well...I will definitely be back soon.

Kay A.

Yelp
We took our 2 yo to Rocket Fizz for his very first candy store experience and loved it! Both kid and hubby were overwhelmed. Loved the vintage candies and soda bottles. Very neat place. It's a bit pricey but well worth the experience!

Bianca W.

Yelp
this location rocks!! Visiting from Nor Cal and decided to pick up some Mars bars! A few packs of big league chew! The guy behind the counter was super nice! Great location!

David C.

Yelp
Awesome. Just realized they have new owners and new management! Manager from Arlington is at this location as well! I see bright things in their future.

Bianka M.

Yelp
So So Soda Pop Imagine a place that you could go to pick up any flavor soda. Well Rocket Fizz would be the place you'd go while in Dallas. After having lunch across the street at Pecan lounge my family and I were walking back to the car and my husband who loves some old school string candy noticed this place and said he wonder if they would have some. We went on over and upon entering our infant son who walks basically jumped out my husband arms because of all the colors around the store. There was a wall when you enter of sodas in bottles, everything from pickle soda to tuna soda and everything in between. The shelves were stocked with all kinds of different things that I wouldn't dare consume like crispy crickets and worms I mean just all types of things. My daughter ended up with red dum dums after digging through she only found one and the nice staffer went in back and pulled her out several more from the backroom stash which was super nice. We also brought a pomegranate ginger ale which we love and purchase from World Marker often. Nice store but be careful letting the children down as there is so much stuff for them to get into.

Maribeth P.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite stops in Deep Ellum! They have all the fun retro candy from your childhood and yummy current day treats as well. I love that they carry the Violet Crumble candy bar. Very hard to find. The guy that runs the register on the weekends is fantastic! Very personable and knowledgable. You must check them out!

Brittney W.

Yelp
I love this place. The Taffy is sooooo good! Everytime I'm in downtown Dallas, I have to stop

Frank S.

Yelp
Every type of candy they ever made is here, all your favorites from yesteryear to today. Way cool place!

Vivian N.

Yelp
After eating at Pecan Lodge, we decided to walk around and came across this little place. Since my friend has never had salt water taffy, we decided to come in to get some. This place was filled with different kinds of candies and sodas. The whole wall to the right had an array of salt water taffy as well as candies from my childhood such as chik o sticks and the strawberry hard candies. The prices were reasonable $5.99 for a small bag and $7.99 for a big bag. We started with the big bag, but that was way too much candy. We opted for the smaller bag, and that was still plenty. There were interesting taffy flavors such as buttered popcorn, rum, sangria, etc... There were at least 40 different flavors. Overall, this place was super cute and interesting. The staff was nice as well. I'd definitely come back.

Laura M.

Yelp
This cool, retro, and fun soda pop and candy shop went under new management as of August 2020. I have been frequenting this little gem quite often for a few years now and it is a new adventure each time I go! If you or your parents, grandparents, or even great grandparents are looking for that hard to find candy you grew up on, I bet 9/10 times Rocket Fizz will have it! You can spend an hour or two in this store just going down memory lane!! The staff here is excellent! They are knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly. If they don't carry a particular candy you're looking for, if they can get it, the manager will start ordering it to carry in the store for you! Oh, and to Curt C., you were very wrong in your Yelp review stating, "I didn't see Mentos and diet coke as there is nothing diet here"... Well there are many different flavors of Mentos and an entire DIET/SUGAR FREE selection in BOTH candy AND soda (on the shelves and in the cooler). If you didn't see it, ask any of the staff because they will be happy to assist you in finding anything you can't find in this store that is completely stuffed with candy, soda, toys, gags, tin signs, concert posters, magnets, and more!!

Courtney C.

Yelp
Super cute! I loved the section in the fridge dedicated to root beer. I would spend my entire paycheck on that section alone! They had vintage candy and when I return I'm going to assemble a bag of treats. It's at a great spot in Deep Ellum and I'll be back.

Gustavo C.

Yelp
Great variety of candies and unusual toys. Staff was friendly and knowledgable. Took friends that had never visited this store before and they loved it. The store has quiet a stock of flavored sodas! Definitely recommend!

J R.

Yelp
Cute place for candy of all sorts, a wide variety of unique soda pop, funny items, and rock posters etc...I'm sure you can find something for just about anyone here! They have apple pay as well. I purchased a jaw breaker on a stick for my child.

Ginger W.

Yelp
Awesome place with so much variety! The guy working was very helpful and friendly! We loaded up on candy and a cream soda! Definitely a cool little place!
