We have been there multiple times for lunch and dinner. This time was for a quick late lunch. They were very busy over the weekend and we waited nearly 30 minutes to order our food. However, the dishes were served quickly once ordered. The food was great and flavorful. Since the dishes came out so fast, you might want to request that your main course and desserts be served separately. Souffle was excellent!

The best cappuccino I ever had in New Zealand so far. Love how the foam was thick on the top and I feel that they also use a good coffee beans. I also love the meal that I order. Love the sauce, the garlic, mash potatoes, the vegetables and the chicken was nice and tender. I also love the atmosphere, you can walk around their garden where you can see where they grow their vegetables. There’s also a castle behind the restaurant. It’s a nice place to chill and have some good coffee and meal.

Charming rustic kitchen, the chefs are experts at letting their seasonal produce shine. We had a seared squid salad that was best we’ve ever had. Rhubarb soufflé was perfectly executed, as was the house made vanilla bean ice cream. They also have their own cookbook. Amazing and well worth visiting.

Have had a great experience here always. Came here today with colleagues and we had a lovely late lunch. The hot smoked salmon, the beer and the tea were all really good. And the Castle is always a sight to behold. Recommended

A cut above most eateries- excellent table service, and we all enjoyed our choices- courgette fritters, shaved cabbage salad, chips and chicken salad. The side dishes are a good size and can be combined to make a hearty meal. The chips are hand cut, huge and very tasty. It is a large, high celinged space so it's quite noisy when busy.
