Herbivore by Locavore

It's the best vegan restaurant I've ever been. The chef is very artistic and creative it is flavorful, surprising, and delicious. All flavors work well together, and every dish is a master piece. It is definitely a fien dining experience (very similar to Michelin restaurants) with great service, amazing food. We enjoyed very much the conversation with Chef about ingredients and creation of the menu. It's is a marvelous experience. Will definitely come back again!

I’m by no means a vegetarian but if I could eat like this every day I could quite happily be converted, the food is very special as is the whole dining experience. I have dined at several Locavore restaurants they are all of the same super high quality dining experience. The staff are very good as well. Highly recommend.

As vegetarians who have eaten at high-end dining establishments around the world, this was the best meal of our lives! And at the price, it was maybe 1/8th the cost you would pay for a similar dining experience else where. Went there with parents and kids for the 15 course menu, each course had perfect sized potions, incredible flavors, and a mix of fruits/vegetables, half of which we had never eaten before. Even though we have relatively smaller appetites, we got through all 15 courses, looking forward to what magic the chef would produce in the next round. Never did all the food seem overwhelming, where we wanted to just get done with the meal. They also offered a 5 course menu for kids (fritters, pancake, burger, dessert, candies) which was gourmet (I was tempted to steal a few bites), but still fit the kids palette. Overall for vegetarians looking for a high-end dining experience, this is a must try!

I really enjoyed the food and all the nuances and tastes each bite and course had. The paired drinks made each bite simply perfect. The food comes from local farmers and I tasted vegetables I never ate before. Visiting this restaurant is a must from my perspective for every food lover.

A must visit in Ubud. As someone who’s been fortunate to visit a number of Michelin starred restaurants, this felt up there with experiences I’ve had at 2 star ⭐.. it was that good. I’m normally pretty sceptical about veggie only restaurants but this opened our minds to just how good this food can be. Incredibly bold but balanced flavours, stunning presentation and matched with an impressive rice-based alcohol pairing. It’s definitely not the cheapest food you’ll find in Ubud, but it’s a brand new menu that I’d highly recommend if you can make it.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Herbivore by Locavore in May, and I was blown away by the experience! I opted for the long menu with a non-alcoholic drink pairing, and every dish was a delightful surprise. The creativity in using local ingredients was astounding; the tempeh main was absolutely exquisite, and the desserts were not only delicious but also visually stunning. The atmosphere was inviting—relaxed yet refined, making it the perfect spot to enjoy such amazing food. The staff were warm and welcoming, and it was a nice touch to have the chef come out to present the last dish. His passion for his craft was evident and added a personal touch to the experience. Thank you, Herbivore, for bringing such an interesting cuisine to Ubud. It’s a unique voyage through incredible flavors, all made with local and vegan products—what an admirable challenge! The result is nothing short of mind-blowing. Highly recommended!

Had a 5 course lunch with a family of 3 incl 15 yr old. Great taste experience of 10 + bites, all executed with utmost care, fantastic taste and great attention of the staff. Staff was very friendly and loose. He food was simply amazing, each and like very course. From the drinks the brem was surely a highlight for lunch

Each dish is meticulously prepared and executed to perfection; the skill required for the tasting menu is nothing short of culinary genius! Chef Arnaud’s Michelin training is clearly influencing his team, and his expertise shines through in every detail. The presentation and craftsmanship are impeccable. Our hosts were welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable. A highlight was the presentation of the final course (candies) by Chef Arnaud, who humbly shared his vision and passion for food with us. His dedication to his craft truly stands out. The Herbivore team radiates passion in every delicious bite. I cannot fault our experience— it was a pinch-me moment and a highlight of our stay in Ubud.
