If you looking a great Ramen restaurant in Toronto. You are in luck! 🍀 It was recommended to me by my friend, who tried many Ramen places, and this one is far greater than others. I am in agreement with my friend 😉 This place is almost always busy, so please be patient to get inside 🤝 It’s simple but feels authentic Ramen place. And seems like everyone is enjoying the food & feels like they are not 1st time here 😉 In few words: you have to try it 💯

Been coming to this Ramen Isshin location several times now and have always been pretty happy with the service and food. The restaurant is long and narrow and has quite a bit of seating - some tables at the back, bar seating along the length of the corridor across the kitchen, and some tables at the front. The service and food are pretty quick. Their ramen broths taste full of mature flavour and like they took the time to prepare them. The components of the ramen, including the toppings and the noodles are at appropriate doneness in terms of texture and cooking so they pay attention to each ingredient. Tried their shaved ice desserts too: one was hojicha flavour and the other was mango. The shaved ice was a nice texture, and both toppings were not too sweet and tasted good. The hojicha was my preference cos it had a good balance of sweet and bitterness from the roasted tea.

The food was delicious! We tried the Red Dragon and Black Tan Tan; I personally preferred the Red Dragon for its spiciness. We also enjoyed the Age Tofu and Mango Pudding. Every bite was incredible, taking me straight back to Japan.

Google
Ramen Isshin is always a contender for best ramen in Toronto. Their red miso is one of my favourites bowls. Karaage is also more like how they make it in Japan, with a much thinner layer of coating on the chicken.

Google
Without a doubt some of the best ramen in the city and has been my personal favourite since they opened, which feels like a decade ago. When it comes to broth, Ramen Isshin blows all others away! Their black sesame and red dragon are my favourite and an absolute must try Imo, but I've tried a few others like the white sesame and red miso and you honestly can't go wrong. Chashu, noodles, and topping are all top notch and combined together really make for the perfect bowl of ramen. Appetizers and sides like takoyaki, karaage, age, are done well but nothing special. The real star is the ramen. Service is friendly, vibes are cozy and lively, and everything is reasonable priced considering the quality of ingredients, care, and thought put into their dishes. Always my go to for anyone asking for a ramen recommendation. Highly, highly recommend!

Google
The broth was great and had a depth but a bit salty! The meat wasn’t as tender as I’ve had it for comparison, but the egg was very well done — perfectly yolky. We all enjoyed our dishes but not great enough for me to crave or seek out. If they improved their meat and eased on the salt, I’d definitely try again…! Service was also great and friendly. I did find, though, that the tables were arranged poorly. It was hard for us to get to our table and back out. Poor interior organization.

Google
Ramen Isshin definitely feels like a Tokyo ramen shop on the inside. Service was prompt and friendly. Ramen broth for the Red Dragon Miso and Roasted Garlic were both extremely rich and flavourful. However, the star of the show was the fresh mango kakigori (shaved ice dessert) we had at the end. It was fresh, rich and the texture of the shaved ice was so light and fluffy. We would return just for dessert. Note: They are also nut allergy friendly and all allergens are clearly listed.

Ramen Isshin is a solid ramen spot in the city! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, cozy atmosphere that sets the tone for a perfect meal. The menu offers a fantastic selection of rich, flavorful broths, with the signature Isshin Shoyu being a standout. The noodles are perfectly cooked — chewy, yet smooth — and the toppings (especially the chashu) are melt-in-your-mouth tender. The staff is friendly, attentive, and the food comes out fast, even during peak hours. Whether you’re a ramen connoisseur or a first-timer, Ramen Isshin is a must-try. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, top-quality ramen experience in Toronto!

Yelp
Family Day, 02/17/2025 around 5pm, The atmosphere was chill and quiet since it wasn't busy at all as only the tables at the back were full and nobody but me was up at the front. Service was very nice and quick. I ordered Takoyaki as an appetizer and had the Garlic Shoyu Ramen as my meal. Food came out pretty fast, presentation was good, tastes great! It is now one of my favourite ramen spots in the city. I'm not sure if I can choose between isshin or Ikkousha but I've only had them both once. Overall good experience, would definitely go back again (:

Yelp
Great ramen! It's my favourite vegetarian in the city, I prefer spicy miso. Service is super quick, always packed when I go. Pretty typical spot for decor and ambiance.

Yelp
It's been a while since I was able to visit Ramen Isshin (always one of my favourites).. Was finally able to go last week and enjoy a bowl of spicy red miso ramen and enjoyed every morsel. This place remains one of my top 3 ramen joints in the city. On the downside, it's probably among the most expensive ramen spots ($20+) so I'm glad there are other great lower priced options as well (such as Santouka)

Yelp
Ramen Isshin has always been my number 1 ramen spot in downtown Toronto. I'm glad they are doing well and opened multiple locations! College location used to be a long wait but now that they opened a second location downtown, it doesn't take too long for a table. We came on a Friday evening at 7pm and wait was around 20-25 minutes. However, Queen location doesn't have online waitlist to add yourself on like their original college location. Service is quick and friendly and they are always so welcoming to customers entering! Some may say it is expensive for a bowl nowadays versus in the past when a bowl used to be $10.80 each. I think it is $18 (?) before tax and tip now for my usual bowl of Kotteri Rich Shoyu. I personally think it is a nice treat to pay that much for ramen and it is worth it! Considering the hours they put in to make the delicious broth. I would rather pay for it at a restaurant than try making it at home myself. The Kotteri Rich Shoyu is my go to because it is a nice and simple, yet rich broth with nicely sliced Chasu pieces, egg, bamboo shoots, seaweed nori and green onions. The soup is so delicious, I always try to finish the bowl empty! Highly recommend! I have yet to find another ramen spot better than ramen Isshin in the GTA.

Yelp
Came in here on a Friday night around 8:30 with 3 others and were seated within a few minutes. I got the red miso ramen and everyone else got the garlic. We all LOVED our ramen. My red miso was the perfect level of spice where you can still taste the tonkotsu broth layer. It was creamy, smooth, and didn't have undissolved spices like you get sometimes in other bowls. The noodles were plentiful and a good chewy texture. The pork melted in your mouth with the slightest bit of smokiness. I tried the garlic broth and it had such an umami, slightly nutty flavor to it. Definitely would get a whole bowl of it! My only qualm was everyone talked about how good the egg was and I didn't realize the red miso DOESN'T come with an egg so make sure you order it as an add on!

Shivani P.

Yelp
We stopped by ramen Isshin for a comforting bowl of warm Ramen on a cold rainy night. The small restaurant was full to the brim. The wait was short- only 5 minutes. And our food didn't take too long to come out either. We ordered the spicy miso with an egg on the side and it was delicious. They were really welcoming and even gave me a plastic bag to put my wet umbrella into. The prices were also fair.

Michelle L.

Yelp
We got a big UberEats order for delivery from Ramen Isshin - necessary for those cold winter days! The order was package immaculately with no spillage whatsoever. The packaging is specially made so that there is one container that holds the noodles and toppings, and the other holds all the soup so nothing gets soggy. All of it is recyclable or compostable which is another plus. The garlic pork broth is incredible! Despite how flavourful the broth was, the marinated egg gets an honourable mention for deliciousness as well. Our vegetarians were really happy with the shoyu broth too. It was a win-win-win for everyone.

Angeline T.

Yelp
Ramen cravings resolved at Ramen Isshin What we ordered: Roasted Garlic Shoyu Spicy Red Miso The Roasted Garlic Shoyu might just be my fave garlic-based ramen in the city, it's flavourful & I wasn't left super thirsty! Which is a plus for me, noodles were my fav thin ones & the sliced pork was thick in the best way! We went in bout 40 minutes before they closed so service was meh, seems like they were eager to rush us out. However, will visit another time and see if it's a similar vibe

Natacia G.

Yelp
Arguably the best ramen in the city? I've yet to try more spots downtown but Ramen Isshin so far takes the cake! They have different broths available and all with an elevated flavour profile. We tried the Spicy Red Miso and Roasted Garlic Shoyu. I honestly think it's a bit more on the pricey side for a bowl of ramen. I will note that I think they don't give enough protein, but that would be my only qualm with the ramen. The place itself is on the smaller side but expected when you're Downtown Queen St. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was able to walk-in for 2 but I imagine you'd call ahead for groups or busier times as it filled up very quickly. The waiters were all very attentive and they have deals during the weekdays. I would definitely go back to this spot.

Leah C.

Yelp
Delicious ramen on a cold day! We ordered the miso and garlic ramen bowls, and both were delicious. The ambiance was cozy, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the restrooms were clean. Our meal with edamame and two drinks came out to less than $50. Happy Eats

Elwood T.

Yelp
Looking for the best ramen in Toronto is tough and Ramen Isshin has had quite the reputation in Toronto. I've always heard good things about this place and finally had a chance to try it. First of all, the service was attentive and welcoming as you enter the restaurant. Similar to many Japanese restaurants, the staff greet you as stroll your way down to your table. The ambiance is quite casual as you see different walks of life come in and out of the establishment. The menu was quite large however we ended up trying the classics, the Red Dragon, Spicy Red Miso and of course the Chicken Kaarage. The flavour of both broths were rich and were soaked up nicely by the noodles. We did find there was a little too much bean sprouts for our liking, like there were more sprouts than there were noodles. The pork belly was ridiculously thin and left us wanting more. The Kaarage was fresh and was paired nice with the kewpie mayo however it was nothing memorable. The bowls of ramen were over $20 per bowl which felt a little overpriced considering the amount of noodles and protein was given. All in all, it's unfortunate that Ramen Isshin didn't hold up to its reputation. Considering the price of each bowl, you would think that the main ingredients would be more plentiful. On to the next! 2.8/5

Yelp
Love the roasted garlic soyu broth. It's lighter than a regular tonkotsu but still packed with a huge punch of flavour. The noodle consistency is perfect - good amount. I went during my lunch break with a coworker and service was super quick that we were able to make it back to work with 45mins including ordering and paying for our bills.

Yelp
BEST VEGETARIAN RAMEN IVE EVER HAD! Amazing broth and the ground tofu was the best part!!! I highly recommend the vegetarian red spicy miso ramen to any veg looking to try ramen!! Also had the calpico soda which was superrr refreshing and unique! I will definitely be back here!!! Wish they had more vegetarian appetizers (e.g veg gyoza) but loved it regardless!! Great service !

Anna N.

Yelp
Great service and friendly staff, tried their dipping ramen, soup was flavorful and portion size was good. Great for a single or date meal

Lily Z.

Yelp
Some of the best ramen in the city - I love ramen on a cold day and the tsukemen warms you up! Extremely flavorful broth and the noodles are super bouncy. Pro tip for the tsukemen - ask for a small bowl of clear broth once you're done with the noodles. It is free of charge, and you can pour it in the tsukemen broth to thin it out without losing the flavor - gives you delicious drinkable broth!

Yelp
I heard through the grapevines that ramen Isshin was the best ramen in Toronto--so we went in with pretty high expectations, and we were not disappointed! This location is a narrow space humbly in the mix of the random shops on this street, but we went twice this summer and never had to wait for a table! The broth sets this apart from many other ramen places because of how light it is while still being really rich.

Yelp
Went here for their anniversary event. It was pretty busy and the restaurant is a bit cramped. We were seated pretty quickly. I think their ramen is a bit more pricy than average, with the cheapest being around $18. For the anniversary event, we got a small snack (a Koala's March bag) and a free pop. I thought it was a bit sad, but there were other goods such as $1 ramen, sapporo goods, so it's probably just me being a sore loser. Our servers were short with us but they checked in and were attentive. It seemed like they were pretty frustrated with us. My boyfriend ordered the spicy red miso and I ordered the red miso. His ramen came first, and I had to wait a few minutes for mine to come (probably because of the modifications I asked for). The red miso is very, very rich. I liked it, but I can also see how it may be too salty for some. It came with some minced pork, onions and chashu (as a picky eater, I removed the other stuff). The chashu was soft and really good. My boyfriend said his was good, and the heat stayed on his mouth when he ate. The total came out to $52 after tax and tips for two ramen. Overall, a decent ramen place. Would love to go again when there is an event.

Yelp
We swung by this shop after exploring Kensington market. We ordered the tuskemen and the black sesame tantan. The tuskemen was delicious! This was my favorite dish - rich broth and perfectly chewy noodles. As for the black sesame tantan, it was a unique experience and I've never had anything like it. A tad salty but still worth the try.

Reh L.

Yelp
Stopped by here on a freezing cold day and the spicy ramen hit the spot. I tried the spicy red miso veggie ramen, with added chicken on the side. I love the variety of options they had but I wish they had a chicken + miso broth ramen. This one came with tofu and mushrooms, both of which tasted incredible. I really like this ramen but I wish it was a bit warmer (gotta be hot enough to burn my mouth!) and I found it a bit heavy for my taste. Overall still a great ramen spot.

Benjamin T.

Yelp
It's hard to get good ramen in Philadelphia and after seeing good reviews for Ramen Isshin, I'm glad we stopped by. My girlfriend got the white sesame shio and I got the asari light shoyu. The broth of the white sesame shio definitely has the sesame flavor and isn't as savory as the asari light shoyu but it was still delicious. It tasted clean and had depth enough to coat the noodles and provide enough flavor. As for the asari light shoyu, it was savory and of course, lighter than what I'd imagine, the other broths. The broth was creamy for sure and closer to the traditional ramen experience. I love the depth and richness of the broth. It wasn't too salty either. The whole bowl felt cohesive and each component complemented each other. I'd be more than happy if there was a location in Philadelphia! I will be thinking of Ramen Isshin fondly when reflecting on notable ramen places!

Brandon C.

Yelp
Excellent Ramen! The noodles are soft yet chewy. The broth packed full of layers of flavor. The marinated egg is the best I've ever had; soft, moist yolk that was slightly sweet. Ordered was the Spicy Vegetarian Red Miso, Vegetarian Roasted Garlic Shoyu and a starter of Hiya Yakko. All were flavorful and absolutely delicious. The fried tofu used in the red miso ramen bowl made for a nice ground beef flavor and the mushrooms used in the roasted garlic Shoyu made for a nice garlicky umami bomb. We ended the meal with shaved ice Kakigori flavored Hochi Cha, also tasty and delicious but a bit sweet for my liking. The staff is super knowledgeable about their menu and the ingredients used in their dishes. The interior has clean lines, contrasting materials and use of darker natural woods for the tables, chairs and flooring. A must for ramen while in Toronto.

Yelp
There was a lot of hype around this place so we decided to try it. Upon entering the restaurant, a loud 'Irasshaimase' welcomes you in with servers and cooks taking a second to acknowledge newly arrived guests. When people leave the restaurant, a resounding 'Arigato' can also be heard. And yes, that means you will hear these same greetings over and over again over the course of your meal. The restaurant has a modern look albeit long and narrow. It has an open concept kitchen with long, wooden table and chairs on the opposite side, as well as big table for groups at the back. For starters we ordered the Chicken Karaage. This is not your normal bite-size nuggets, the Chicken Karaage here are huge but ultra-crispy and flavourful. And since we're on the quest to find the best Takoyaki in Toronto we tried their Takoyaki as well. It was so-so, not a lot of octopus pieces and one takoyaki I ate doesn't even have octopus meat. The only thing I like is the generous Katsuoboshi (dried bonito shavings) on top. Whenever I go to a new ramen place, I always look on how good the tare on the ramen broth or lack thereof. We had the Garlic Shoyu & Chicken Shio Ramen and both were bland and lacking true flavours. The Shoyu has a overwhelming garlicky flavour but at the same time has a bitter taste. It's missing the one dimensional flavour usually found in a Shoyu Ramen broth. While the pork chashu in the shoyu has an umami-rich, melt-in-your-mouth taste, the chicken chashu is the opposite. Chicken breast was used for the chasu which made it extremely dry and bland. It tasted like it has just been blanched with plain water. Ramen Isshin's ambiance and service were spot on, but IMO it didn't quite live up to the hype since the ramen (star of the show) were underwhelming and lacking significant depth of flavour.

Cynthia O.

Yelp
The food was so good. I could barely talk because I was too busy eating. I'm about to make my second visit in one week! The service and ambiance was also great. So glad I found this spot.

Bosco H.

Yelp
This is up there for me with Hokkaido Ramen Santouka by Dundas. It's also Yuta Wantanabe's favourite ramen spot in Toronto :D. Ordered the Roasted Garlic Shoyu Ramen (17.4) and Deep Fried Pork Gyoza (7.8). The Gyozas were pretty good, they always come piping hot, right from the fryer. The ramen was very good as well. Very rich broth, not too oily, big pieces of pork belly cha shu and chewy noodles. I really liked it. For some reason, places that toss in a piece of nori just give it a bit more flavour! Great ramen, they also have a location on College which I believe is their O.G. location so might check that one out next time.

Winona H.

Yelp
I think I found my new favourite ramen spot I cannot believe how delicious this tsukemen was, noodles were definitely housemade and dipping it in a boiling stone bowl broth just made this place so different than all the other ones i've had in toronto. the two of us had to order a THIRD bowl of ramen bc we wanted to eat more and it slapped. it also came with an egg which is so essentiallll (idk when eggs started costing so much extra but it's so criminal) on our menu: Stone Bowl Shoyu Kotteri Tsukemen (10/10 ) Black Sesame Tantan Noodle (8/10 ) Spicy White Sesame Shio (8.5/10 ) Cranberry Umeshu (6.5/10 )

Jamie K.

Yelp
Great ramen in downtown Toronto. Not super busy on a weekend (which I'm happy about) and fast service for a quick noodly soupy retreat from Queen West. Lots of seating inside whether you are alone or in a group.

Marysa M.

Yelp
Ramen Isshin has amazing ramen. I ordered some late night and it was deliverers fast and hot. The broth was so good and it was loaded with veggies. The gyoza was crispy and a perfect pair to the spicy ramen.

Isabella L.

Yelp
The best vegetarian ramen in the city! I think I've tried all the vegetarian ramens in Toronto at this point, and I always come back to Isshin. Isshin has been my favourite even when meat was included in my diet and I'm so glad their vegetarian versions (spicy red miso and garlic) are just as flavourful, rich and satisfying.

Jimmy T.

Yelp
Red Dragon Ramen $19.8 - it's spicy but not as spicy as I was expecting. Pretty good soup it's loaded with veggies. The pork and egg were cooked great! A bit on the pricey side Roasted Garlic Shoyu $16.8 - very delicious and creamy soup based. Eggs and pork were cooked well and very tender Chicken Karaage Don Small $7.8 - tasty but a little small for the price might be better to order karaage on its own for value. Overall pretty good and I would come back to try their other ramen. The dipping ramen looks interesting

Catherine S.

Yelp
Service was very good and the food was amazing! There's table seating and single person seating.

Veronica C.

Yelp
First time visiting this location. It looked decent outside and inside of the ramen shop. It looks kee busy. I was greeted friendly by a waitress and seated me at a table. I ordered a cold white sesame tantan noodle.s It was a summer special. The broth was cold and refreshing, with a touch of spiciness though a bit salty. I loved their thick wavy noodles, always chewy! Lots of toppings that went with the ramen. It was good but I could hardly taste the sesame flavour. Overall, almost every was good except I was not happy with one of the waitresses. She was rude and had an attitude when I asked if there was any wifi available and when she refilled my glass of water.

Vatsal S.

Yelp
Prompt seating and service. Very casual dining typical of a ramen bar. Both vegetarian ramen options were good, not the best but still pretty good. The garlic one is very garlicky so only get that if you really really like garlic. Not super spicy even with their max spice option

Lesley R.

Yelp
Heard a lot about this raman restaurant so we had to check it out during our trip, the black garlic ramen was sweet and savoury which I enjoy and the soup tasted so addicting. Surprisingly we had no wait time considering I saw a lot of reviews saying they're super busy most times. The restaurant felt cozy and comfortable.

Mark R.

Yelp
Very comfortable spot, mix of chairs, benches and stools for seating options. Friendly attentive service. Portions typical for this style of Ramen, definitely a filling size. Also had a delicious Tokyo IPA that I would recommend. Food arrived quickly and was very tasty - really no complaints and we'd come again.

Sally L.

Yelp
Authentic Japanese ramen. Always hits the spot. This place has one of the best vegetarian ramen, the broth is packed with flavours. I recommend the garlic shoyu.

Song P.

Yelp
Best ramen in toronto and I've been to a lot of places. I like that you can ask then to cook the noodles to the doneness of your liking. The broth is so flavorful and I don't usually feel bloated after which means the flavors all came from the bones that they make the broth with!! I got the black sesame tan tan which was very good. Wish that they gave more char siu slices though.

Gregory D.

Yelp
Have been coming to this location since it first opened. The service is always prompt, the atmosphere is lively (reminds me of some Izakayas and ramen joints in Japan), and the food is incredible. The highlights are the chicken karaage, red dragon ramen, spicy miso ramen, black tan tan ramen, and any cold Japanese beer they have.

Matt B.

Yelp
Absolutely top-notch ramen with delectable vegetarian ramen options (and vegan options too). I stopped in for dinner on a Saturday alone, looking for a vegan ramen. They were packed but sat me right away at the bar. They have 2 vegetarian ramens that can be made vegan by replacing the usual egg noodles with kale noodles. I got the spicy vegetarian miso ramen with the kale noodles ($18 + $2 for the noodles), a rich, decadent, spicy red ramen that is impeccably designed, with some vegan meat, bamboo shoots, kikurage, and green onions. The broth was rich but balanced, with a remarkable depth of flavours. It really doesn't get much better than this insofar as veggie/vegan ramens. Highly recommended spot.

Tina C.

Yelp
The only ramen that shop I know in Toronto that does wok fried tofu as a topping for vegetarian ramen. Fun to try if you haven't before, and an added bonus that they have more than 1 vegetarian option. When I first tried then on College everything was a bit too salty, but the queen location seemed to have things just right. Tried their spicy miso ramen my last visit and will have to be back for their garlic oil ramen. FYI their washroom is on the same floor as the dining space, but it's very narrow as most places are on Queen, so probably not fully accessible.

Hetal M.

Yelp
it's been a really long time since i've hard ramen and my friend strongly recommended this place - he said he and his friends said it's almost as good as the food they've had in japan. i'm not an expert so i wouldn't be able to comment in that but i will say my ramen was a bowl of goodness. it had the perfect amount of spice and the pork tasted amazing. I struggle to eat with chopsticks but still tried my best! the base had a semi-creamy taste which added a different flavour than i wad expecting! Definitely a place i'd visit again in the winter!

Anna N.

Yelp
We ordered chicken and pork ramen (the most popular ones) and a octopus appetizer. Everything was really good and the service was excellent!

Julitza G.

Yelp
10/10 recommend this place! Coming on vacation from California and was recommended to this place by a local! Did not disappoint the food is amazing and the quality was delicious! Service was amazing an our waiter was very kind and explained to us the food. Would definetly recommend this to anyone wanting to try. The place it's self is very small and feels like home!

Calvin S.

Yelp
+.5 for service Isshin was and still is my favourite ramen place in Toronto. I've been to the original one on College Street, so I figure I'd try a different branch. It's certainly smaller than the College branch, and is designed more for individual seating (there's more group tables at the College location). Thankfully I was here individually, and since it was during the holidays it wasn't too busy. I had the Black Sesame Tan Tan Ramen, which tasted excellent. I'm not a huge black sesame person, but this place does it very well. The fact you have to grind sesame seeds adds a bit of texture to it, and the broth and noodles were just the way I like it. Service was excellent and efficient. It's a ramen place with high turnover, don't expect to stay long here. In and out.

Ivan H.

Yelp
Location/Service This restaurant is along Queen St, easily accessible by TTC Streetcar. Green P and side street parking is also available. Inside can fit around 30 people or so. It's a long and narrow style restaurant, with bigger group tables at the front. Most usually sit bar style facing the wall and their backs against the kitchen. Interior is pretty standard, nice quality of furniture and decor, pretty commercial standard. Staff were really nice, little bit of ordering hiccups, but was quickly to react and continuous made sure we were all okay. Food Ordered the gyoza and tsukemen. Gyoza were pan fried to the right level. Very crispy skin and a soft and steaming hot centre. The stuffing was a little smaller than the actual gyoza size, but it was flavourful. Tsukemen, for those who don't know are dipping style noodles. The ramen is all cooked, set aside in a different bowl. You grab what you want to eat and dip it into their hot broth. I like how there's an option to request warming up the noodles first (usually it's cold). The noodles were thick style and chewy, plentiful in quantity. The egg was great (although not my favourite runny style) and the pork slices were tender and not overly dry. The broth was flavourful, a little bit on the oily side (expected with tsukemen style), so it compliments well where you can dip and choose how much broth you want to take instead of making everything all soggy. Overall Ramen Isshin made a pretty good impression for me. I like they have a variety of choices of ramen to choose from. Prices are normal to today's standards and quantity is good. Definitely would come back and try again.

Yelp
Looking for a Ramen place with vegetarian options, I found Ramen Isshin and I'm glad we did. We visited their 3rd location on Queen St W. Arriving a little early for lunch there were only a few other patrons in the restaurant but we were attended to right away and seated towards the center of the restaurant. Decor is on point with a bit of a darker tone to this narrow restaurant but it was very well lit and had really really comfortable and modern seats. We really enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. Luckily for us, we had arrived during their lunch special hours which included a choice of an app, a ramen dish and a drink. We decided to share takoyaki, my friend had the wasabi yaki and we each ordered a lunch special. I had the roasted garlic tonkotsu with the karaage starter and a coke. My friend had the vegetarian roasted garlic ramen, spicy tofu starter and tea. The black tonkotsu was delicious and had lots of black roaster garlic laced throughout. The chashu was on the thicker sliced side so had a lot of meaty flavour and the half flavoured egg was delicious. Karaage was 2 very large pieces, seasoned well and moist. My friend's mushroom ramen was surprisingly flavourful for not having any meat. Very mushroomy and filled with toppings. The spicy tofu was good, not too spicy and you can't go wrong with the takoyaki or the wasabi yaki. Overall, the lunch here was great and we enjoyed every bit of our food. We'll definitely be heading back here if we're in the area. Especially since my pescatarian friend is able to find plenty of options here.

Yelp
OVERALL: Best ramen in the city finally getting another expansion! VENUE: I've always loved the College Street location so I was happy to hear they opened closer to home for me. Located on Queen St just before Bathurst, this venue is comfy and definitely more modern compared to the older location. FOOD: Outstanding ramen and as consistent as the other location. Great flavours in my Black Tan Tan ramen. They have a fairly wide selection of ramens, beers, and sides for your choosing. I love their chicken karage as well. I had the tako wasabi this time and it wasn't the best though. SERVICE: Good service with regular check-ins. The server even came by to apologize for a longer wait on the food (which actually wasn't long at all). VALUE: Good value for money.

Tanvi G.

Yelp
Came here for the first time for Saturday lunch. Immediately was greeted by all of the servers in typical Izakaya fashion. Ordered a hot sake to warm us up, Takoyaki, and the Spicy red miso ramen. I have to say I could not put down my ramen, it was addicting! I savored every last drop of the flavorful broth. Will definitely be back for more.

Simon P.

Yelp
I came to Ramen Isshin (Queen location) on their grand opening on a Friday evening, and it was super busy because of their special 50% off ramen promotion! Their restaurant layout is about the size of any ramen joint BUT DO NOTE the tabling NEAR the ENTRANCE has a mosquito problem (due to location), and so when your food comes you constantly have to swat them away. Other than that everything else was great! Tabling space was good, service very speedy, atmosphere tame. The Black Tan Tan noodle I had was good but perhaps not flavourful enough. It tasted like the broth didn't stick to the noodles, and at times a spoonful was too salty to drink. Chicken Karaage Don Large was a perfect meal. The karaage is crispy and it blended well with the rice. However I do feel the price for this large size portion is too much. Overall do I recommend this location? Sure give it a try. There are quite a few ramen locations along the Queen street already though, and so I see stiff competition. Nonetheless I hope Ramen Isshin thrives.

Yelp
Came here to try out asialicious menu and I loved the noodles! The soups were super flavourful and rich. We tried the black sesame tan tan noodles and the spicy white sesame shio noodles. Also had the Gyoza and Hiyayakko as appetizers. Highly recommend! Check out @ooi.eats for all food reviews and your next foodie adventure.
