On the Grid : Radio Bar

"Nothing like unwinding after a day at work with a strong drink at Radio, a neighborhood dive bar. This downtown watering hole is just a short walk from the 12th St BART. The place is definitely grungy but their bartenders are friendly and go out of their way to make sure patrons are enjoying themselves and their drinks. Expect loud music and lowlights; beware of the bathrooms." - Pitch Interactive

What a cool bar. Very chill. The bartender was generous and skillful. I came to have a drink because my friend's office is down the street. We had a good vantage point at the bar but next time, I will go upstairs. I grabbed a few flyers and I want to come back for a few music nights.

Stay away from this place. The bartender gives herself extra tip when you tip with credit card. This place essentially scams you. The same thing happened to a coworker of mine, so it’s definitely a pattern with her.

Bad service bartender was rude spilled my drink on my hand and didn’t apologize. After talking about this experience with other people seems the bar has some history of racism definitely not the new Oakland I was looking for

Nice low key place I go to chill, have a drink, and play pinball after work.

Fun local dive bar right off 12th St BART station, awesome decor, friendly bartenders, welcoming crowd, great place for happy hour, and special themed nights featuring local DJs.

RIP Sabia and Radio, The Person and Place that made me love Oakland are dead and are on borrowed time. Please remember both as loved and missed dearly. All of us have ghosts that live here and if they don't like the change I hope they let her know.

last night i was trying to celebrate my birthday w my friends here & from the jump the bartender was telling us to get drinks bc we were "taking up lounge space" and we hadn't even been inside for a minute. The bartender had an attitude the whole time, i don't kno her name but she was working there last night january 1st around 11:30pm. I also tried asking for water bc i was trying to chill down a bit but she wanted me to order an alcoholic drink first. She was just rude since the jump & i did not appreciate it. never coming back to this place

Great experience. I've been hearing about this place forever but have never been before. I love the dim red lighting. It was super busy but never waited fir more then a couple minutes fir a drink def plus in my book. The had tall cans and an upstairs part to chill and relax. The DJ was awesome. Played some old school gin n juice type stuff. Door man was coo, long skinny bar/entry was maybe could be more seating but all n all cool spot.
