"Morning Calm in Copenhagen I love exploring a new city by running through its parks and streets. And early morning runs offer a whole new perspective on a city. In Copenhagen , the path around the city's five lakes is a perfect four-mile running loop. The water is so still at that hour that it reflects the sunrise. Early on a Saturday, you never know what you might see. In addition to swans, I saw two bikes that had settled to the bottom of the water (evidence of a fun Friday night), and some drunk revelers dancing on a paddle boat."

"Walk the Lakes An essential part of experiencing life in Copenhagen , is a walk along the Norrebro lakes. A popular spot for locals, the lakes are lined by periodic cafes and always alive with joggers, people on dates, and locals enjoying the weather. They also provide a beautiful insight into what daily life in Copenhagen looks like."

Dronning Louises Bro is one of the best hangout spots in Copenhagen. On any dry day with just a bit of sun, even if it’s only 5 degrees, the bridge fills up with locals drinking wine, smoking cigarettes, and soaking up the Copenhagen vibe. It’s got that perfect mix of chill and city life. Super central, always full of energy, and impossible to miss if you're walking through the city. If you want to feel the pulse of Copenhagen, this is where you go.

Our first walk across Dronning Louises Bro, my husband and I found ourselves in the soft, misty charm of Copenhagen. It was quiet and mysterious, but also incredibly beautiful. The mist softened everything around us, revealing glimpses of the river and the stunning buildings in the distance. Cyclists passed by with the gentle sound of bells ringing in the air ‘tring tring’, the signature soundtrack of Copenhagen 🎵. It was one of those simple, unforgettable moments. Just being there, with the city’s quiet hum around us, felt luxurious in its own way. This isn’t a place that demands attention. It’s one that invites you to step in and just be ☺️.

Dronning Louises Bro (English: Queen Louise's Bridge) is a bridge across The Lakes in central Copenhagen, Denmark. On a sunny Day the area is full of joggers, lovers kissing on the benches and parents with baby prams. The bridge joins Frederiksborggade in Indre By (city centre) with Nørrebrogade in Nørrebro and separates Sortedam Lake (Sortedam Sø) to the northeast from Peblinge Lake (Peblinge Sø) to the south west. Queen Louise's Bridge is built of granite and has three arches. The cast iron railings are decorated by four identical bronze cartouches featuring Copenhagen's coat of arms surrounded by weapons, helmets and lions. The railing integrates eight lampposts and four flagpoles The bridge was designed by Vilhelm Dahlerup, and constructed between 1885 and 1887. The bridge is named after Queen Louise, King Christian IX's wife.

Amazing bridge next to Nørbro neighborhood. The lake is usually full of young people drinking and making picnic. The atmosphere is quiet calm. You can rent some swam - boat to enjoy with friends. The best part is the sunset. The coulors in the sky could give you the best pictures! If you do not like a picnic idea in Nørbro will find plenty bars and restaurants. It is a young area full of charming places

Yelp
Queen Louis's Bridge (Dronning Louises Bro in Danish) is across the Copenhagen Lakes. The bridge was built between 1885 and 1887. It is named for King Christian IX's wife. The bridge is built from granite and has three arches. According to the wikipedia entry, the cast iron railings are decorated by four identical cartouches featuring Copenhagen's coat of arms surrounded by weapons, helmets and lions. I've posted a picture. I found the bridge to be perfectly functional with pedestrian, bicycle and automotive traffic. The counter of the number of bicycles and pedestrians was interesting!

Yelp
How do you rate a bridge, by the way? As an engineer, I'm tempted to do the whole building and construction analysis to determine if this bridge, despite its prettiness *rolls eyes at architects* is really functioning as it should. JUST KIDDING! But tell me, how do you rate a bridge, really? By the amount of hipsters or the so-called Nørrebronx dwellers squatting the bridge with a six-pack of Grøn Tuborg on a tow in a very summery day? One mississipi, two mississipi.... Anyway, I totally understand if this bridge has become a hangout place for whoever you are out there, be it you with the cheap beers from discount supermarket, the "original" grøn tuborg or the slightly sophisticated hipsters with a bottle of wine and real wine glasses (I swore I have seen those ones several times) - the view is damn nice over the lakes. You can just stand here and stare forever on the vast spread of polluted water *ahem* I meant the beautiful man made lakes that stretches from Frederiksberg to Østerbro. The bridges have walls and shoulders that are broad enough for you to sit on them so you can be a proper Copenhagen hipster if you want. Still, three stars from me, because I don't really know how to review a bridge. Totally ok sounds like it's a functioning bridge.

Yelp
I really don't get, why it's so popular to hang out at Dronning Louises Bro? The bridge was built 1885-1887 and designed by architect Vilhelm Dahlerup, and it replaced Peblinge bridge, which could no longer cope with the growing volume of traffic. The bridge connect the old working class area Nørrebro and the inner city of Copenhagen. It's a bridge over an artificial lake excavate to be a part of Copenhagen's fortification. This part of the fortification started in the17th Century. The lakes was also used to supply Copenhagen with water until WW2 and served as a reserve reservoir until 1959. The bridge is a popular place to hang out on a sunny day. You can sit here on the wide sidewalk wit a cup of coffee, beer, or some wine. Often the bridge is used for manifestation, when the people of Nørrebro want to show their discontent with the something.

Yelp
Love spending days and evenings by the lakes at Dronnings Louises Bro during summer. This is the perfect hang-out spot in Copenhagen. You can spend hours and hours just looking at all the different kinds of people walking, running, strolling or biking by. Here you find the true Copenhagen vibe. Busy bikers ride by at all times, parents bike by with their children in Christiania bikes, bikers in suits, bikers in summer dresses, bikers carrying all kinds of items. Joggers, sprinters, all of Copenhagen's runners meet at the lakes. Couples take a walk hand-in-hand, girlfriends take a walk to catch up on the latest gossip, guys (and girls too) bring a six pack to enjoy on the bridge or in the grass. People grab food from the various take out restaurants at Nørrebrogade. Perfect location on a sunny Saturday evening. Grab a coffe or a beer (depending on weather and time of day) and take a stroll around the lakes and come to feel that Copenhagen vibe.

Yelp
So this is one of my favorite spots of the whole city and I can easily explain myself! First of all I am Norrebro girl so I pass by everyday from here. Secondly, I have had so many strange and lovely experiences on this bridge! Going home from bars finding parties with music and dj here. People doing capoeira with music, people playing live jazz, chilling out, enjoying the sun, enjoying the people passing by, people giving free stuff as adverts, the cycle meter that is now gone, people putting up a small society up with a handmade living room ,meeting random people, meeting friends out of the blue... Just so many memories that make this bridge special! When there is good weather go there, take a walk at the lakes, grab a coffe or ice cream and enjoy it at the bridge. I am sure you ll see how special it is!

Yelp
The classic drinking bridge. People are always drinking here at all hours of the day, night and day, sunset, sunrise. I like this bridge a lot for the fact that it connects norrebro into the city center, plus it's where the widest bike lanes are. The views of the lakes here are great as well.
