A lively, spacious beer hall with a German twist, serving up local brews, tasty eats, and a fun vibe perfect for sports fans and gatherings.
"What started out as a German-style beerhall has shifted to what owners Gary Szeredy and Justin Andrews — who bought it in 2020 — call a “Northwest Beerhall.” What does that mean? A ton of TVs playing sports, a famous smashburger (that predates the current smashburger craze), and local beers on tap. It’s simple, but it’s hard to find a better spot to prefunk a Kraken or Storm game." - Meg van Huygen
"This expansive, communal German-style beer hall in Queen Anne underwent an ownership change in 2020, which has reinvigorated the venue and toned down the German-ness while keeping the robust list of European and local beers. The menu is all about bar food classics, including pretzels — you can get charcuterie inside a pretzel — and smash burgers, which have become the bar’s most famous item." - Harry Cheadle, Eater Staff
"When: Monday-Friday, 3-6pm The Deal: $5 Glasses Of Wine, $6 Select Beers, $6 Smashburger You can find a pre-Kraken game meal that's probably better than what you'll find at Climate Pledge Arena at Queen Anne Beerhall. Eat one of their tasty smashburger before watching Jewell Loyd and company hoop it up." - aimee rizzo, gabe guarente
"At this German-style beer hall, you’ll find lots of brats and other sausages, including a smoked Sky Kraken Dog infused with beer and jalapeños, and tucked into a cream cheese-smeared roll. The meat’s way too dry on that, though—we prefer the bar’s more basic Seattle dog without all the pale ale-infused nonsense. It’s much juicier, gets topped with feathery light onions, and comes with tasty fries all for $11. Grab a stein of pilsner and cheers to a good deal." - gabe guarente, aimee rizzo
"Unless you’re scouring day-of resale markets, Kraken tickets can be expensive, especially for a group. So if you’re interested in getting together with other folks who enjoy looking at a tiny black dot zip around on some ice, Queen Anne Beerhall—located right near Climate Pledge Arena—is the place. Yeah, it gets packed with a sea of light blue jerseys pregaming, but once the mass exodus to Seattle Center begins, the entire gymnasium-sized space is all yours. Grab a smashburger, some soft pretzels, and a way better view of Grubauer blocking goals than the sorry sacks in Section 226, Row N." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley, gabe guarente
