Just stopped by for a latte. Ordered the dodger blue. Hint of blueberry and smooth. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I am pleasantly surprised. A restaurant across the street recommend this. It’s perfect for sitting outside or inside. 😊👍

Google
Fun mix of beer and coffee. Cool atmosphere to hang out and chill. Lots of college students taking advantage of the nice open area to study. They also have a wine bar. Did not try the treats but they looked tasty.

This review is longgg overdue! I’ve actually been to Puritan one other time with some friends in the evening. This trip I’m recording is from June 2024. My friend Caitlin (pictured) was visiting from Knoxville, TN and we stopped at Puritan on our way to drop her back off at the airport. I can’t remember what either of us ordered, but we both enjoyed our drinks. I remember the Puritan team member being kind and professional! We both really enjoyed sitting outside, despite the Arkansas heat. I highly recommend Puritan if you’re in Fayetteville!! Thank you, Puritan Coffee & Bar!

Google
Great place to sit either inside or out. Beer selection is always good and love that they rotate. Coffee is decent and prices are very comparable to others in the area. Food truck area adds more reasons to set up shop there all day. Saw they host plenty of fun events like bingo and themed trivia nights as well as other events throughout the year. I’ve been going since the beginning and I’ve never tired of this place. A great place to start the day, and even better place to start or end the night.

Google
Great Coffee with a unique menu! Puritan does the basics well, but also has a variety of drinks i’ve never seen at any other Coffee Shop. While the coffee is great, the main attraction here is the atmosphere. They have great seating indoors and outside. The inside is huge, so there’s always a comfortable spot to sit. Highly recommend!

Google
This is an amazing hip place in the downtown area. The atmosphere is so chilled, the coffee is good. There is a nice selection of beer on tap. I spent some time here alone chilling with my glass of iced mocha. The brownie is good. Coffee and brownie, everything is just perfect, moderately sweet. The place is great for chilling alone, working on laptop, hanging out with friends, or even for a casual date. Highly recommended if you are around.

Google
One of my favorite places to go in Fayetteville! Their coffee is great (they use ONYX so that makes sense) and the vibes are super cool.

Angel Montúfar

Google
Really cool coffee shop! Love the ambiance, the space, and the fact they sell alcohol too! Or coffee too… regardless! Both are the move lol. Parking is always a challenge. Room to sit inside isn’t, plenty of different spaces for everyone to chill and talk, and just grind on some work.

Yelp
"Arkansas Coffee Shop" - Rick Elmore. Puritan Coffee Shop apparently converts into a cool brewery and wine drinking place at night, but we came here in the day time, on our way to FallToberFest in downtown Fayetteville, Arkansas. We are just tourists from Hawaii checking out the scene in the really hot late Sept morning, stopping by to get an ice-cold Pumpkin Latte for $7.00 and get out of the sun for a while. Surprised at how lush, green, historic and pretty Fayetteville was as I had pre-conceived notions of Arkansas being dry and flat. Not this town! A perfect place to sit and sip coolness. I could only imagine how this place would be at night in a college town on a weekend??? Pretty wild, probably...or a best kept secret.

Jen H.

Yelp
Great coffee and pastry stop. Very large inside with tons of seating. Would love to go back for wine and beer. Food truck in the parking lot for afternoon and evening visits. You must get a receipt to use their Wi-Fi. It is easy but you do need it.

Yelp
I have SUCH fond memories of going to Puritan and enjoying a beer on the patio. It's undergone many renovations and changes over the years and upon my most recent visit, just didn't have the same charm that originally drew me to this spot. It has grown in size (understandably for the popularity), but I miss the dim light, intimate vibes this cafe had to offer. I ordered their grilled cheese for a snack. It was very very okay and felt like I could have made a better one at home for $8. I do still love the beers - the milk stout is my favorite!!

Tammy L.

Yelp
Great Coffee, the Chocolate Croissant is heaven. Staff is welcoming. Nice atmosphere not too flashy but not dull either. They have swag for purchase. Overall a great place for students, locals, and area visitors alike. Will definitely be coming back

Hayden A.

Yelp
Puritan is a fun coffee shop. Was disappointed they didn't offer pour overs but I'm totally okay with drip coffee. They were brewing Geometry by Onyx and it was a good cup o Joe. I wouldn't say it's super unique but it is solid. Had trouble connecting to WiFi but my wife and I enjoyed our couple of hours we were there for. Upstairs loft is nice but the couch could use a refresh! The playlist for the day was interesting. I heard the song A Thousand Miles at least 5 times which 5 times too much in my humble opinion.

Stephen H.

Yelp
Posted up here for a few hours while my sisters went thrifting at the local shops. Not only was it a great place to work (good coffee and wifi) but it looks like such a fun place to hang out (they were starting Terminator/Schwarzenegger trivia night when I was leaving).

Me S.

Yelp
Puritan has a good atmosphere, is open later than most coffee places, and provides for some great interior/exterior work spaces. HOWEVER... at 4pm ( a poorly planned time of day) they forcibly have everybody on the food-truck side of the joint (the largest in square-footage) put away all laptops. This really is detrimental to their customers given the fact that most people are there to work... on their laptops. I'm totally down for providing a space that allows others to disconnect from the online culture, but it's not really achieved well here. It really is frustrating to have sat down to work for a few hours and then be told you have to move over to the other, smaller side of the building that almost inevitably is full or doesn't have enough power outlets for those remaining laptop users. Not to Mention the 2-ish hour limit on their WiFi they enforce. Once again, this is understandable if given ways to incentivize not leaching off of a business's WiFi. That is not the case. I have also had a few negative experiences in regard to the interactions I've had with the upper-management. There seems to be an underlying culture of pretentiousness that is common in many coffee shops in the south. This place is no exception. I do write this with hesitance because I frequent the place often to do work. Also, leaving negative reviews places feels like a petty first-world-country issue. However, I enjoy the place and see a lot of potential, so I thought I'd give my 2¢.

Emily M.

Yelp
Best coffee and beer in fayetteville!! Some reviews say it's noisy, but i've never had an issue. The music is always amazing and the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable, they always have great beer recommendations. They've even got their own brews, which are ALWAYS amazing!!!

Zeyad E.

Yelp
Cool atmosphere, good place to connect with people. Workers are even cooler, guy at the counter Jolly was really nice. He explained his Halloween costume and made the place feel very inviting. Will for sure be back

Happy C.

Yelp
Coffee is fine and it's a cool place. The blaring music ruins it turn it the f down. Maybe they do it so people won't stick around? Avocado toast was 7.50 for a dinky one piece of bread with the thinnest layer of mashed avocado. Also their matcha comes presweetened so you can't get it unsweet which is a bummer. Everything was generally overpriced in my opinion. The trendy industrialist outdoorsy decor helps justify this I'm guessing because it's very busy.

Abby V.

Yelp
The atmosphere was really aesthetic and cute! I got the dark mocha iced latte and it was really good! Highly recommend!!

PT S.

Yelp
Four for ambiance. Really chill. Or sunny if you want or shady depending on the side of building you'd like to sit. Food and coffee good as well. Not greatest but good. Ambiance is the key here.

Cristina S.

Yelp
I always enjoy going to Puritan. Now that they have the wine bar, there are so many more wine options. Plus, it's always nice to sit down in the comfy sofas with a latte or hot tea on a cold day. Perfect place to study or just chill.

Ralph D.

Yelp
Excellent coffee and service! Great location on Dickson Street. Reasonably priced for a coffee house with a chill vibe.

Donna S.

Yelp
Came on a game day. We got here 915. It's 10 now and we still haven't gotten our burrito. A few coffees available, smoothies are pricey $8.50. Not a big selection of breakfast items. What we did have was good though. My smoothie was tasty and the kolache tasted fresh. I would recommend if you are just wanting a drink. Would not co wider this a breakfast place.

Julia S.

Yelp
Here quite often! Good coffee, good beer selection, super fun events, staff is awesome. Vibes are immaculate. Bathroom makes for a good selfie

Dave B.

Yelp
Great coffee aroma while enjoying a robust tap list. My companion had a hot chocolate and declared it wonderful.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
I tried Puritan for the first time and was happy to settle in with my laptop for some work on a business trip - it's fun to hang out in new coffee spots while you're away from home and this one had outlets which made working super easy. The music was fine but I did have headphones on - I can be pretty sensitive to loud noises but I read the other reviews so I was worried about that. I'm a drip coffee drinker and I had two cups and was very happy. My smoothie was great but I was having it more for health reasons and secretly wanted a burrito but was trying to make a better choice. The staff was super friendly and I would like to come back for a beer to try out that part of the menu because it's a nice neighborhood spot and I enjoyed my morning here. I'll stop by tomorrow - hopefully it will be quiet again!!

Cece B.

Yelp
If you need wifi or need to get work done - here is not the place! I have come here multiple times and each time there has been an issue with the wifi and have had to leave because of it!

Jane L.

Yelp
Puritan always has a really great vibe and it smells amazing inside, all the time. If we got out drinking for the night, Puritan makes it into the repertoire, whether starting, middle, or end. Getting a coffee and a drink at the same time is a fantastic combination. Their cocktails here are spot on, tack that along with their daily specials and you have wins throughout. I tried their Santa's Lil' Helper and it's a must drink cocktail this holiday. I mean just look at it, adult cereal beverage? Yes please. Whatever your needs, Puritan can satisfy it with their extensive beer menu, great cocktails, and delicious snacks/food!

David N.

Yelp
Great hangout spot! This is a nice and cozy place to grab coffee, light food, and some alcoholic drinks - open late (11pm as of this writing)! I personally don't know of anywhere else to get good coffee past sundown so it's a rare find in my eyes that I really appreciate. Even cooler, it's on Dickson Street minus the...typical...Dickson Street vibe (a big plus for me). Awesome coffee, really nice ambiance, wonderful staff

Patty D.

Yelp
Great place to grab coffee, wine, or cider. Food trucks outside but didn't try them. My hubs got a cider and I got an iced Carmel coffee waiting for the 3 o'clock movie.

Christina H.

Yelp
Popped in during parent's weekend and had a very good experience. Clean, nice ambiance, open spaces and a great mocha.

Kamreon R.

Yelp
Makes me feel like a kid again! I order a holiday coffee drink and I'm met with the exciting opportunity to imagine the flavors they said would be in there on the menu! Nothing like pretending to have a peppermint mocha. LOVE the service though! Really nice people and cocktails.

Yelp
In some crazy Easy Rider-inspired way, I decided to drive across the country. However, I was by myself and in a car. Stopping along the way to explore the offbeat and get some good eats, Fayetteville was my second stop. Puritan was the perfect respite from the Arkansas heat. I spent my morning running around Fayetteville and needed a place to just chill for a beat before I headed off to yoga. A cute cortado was exactly what I needed to keep my energy up to make it through the rest of my day. Loved the open space. Plenty of large tables, bar seating, or you can climb the stairs to find some comfy chairs to chill in. I needed a plug, so opted for the small room behind the main counter. While I was the only one in there during my visit, it would be perfect for a small group to meet and brainstorm/study. It's a little private which allows for deep discussion and you're not in the middle of all the action. The parking lot definitely makes it easier - not the biggest fan of street parking - but it's limited so don't count on there always being a spot. I made the rounds of the coffee shops in Fayetteville even though I was barely there for 2 days and Puritan is definitely on my list for next time.

Steve B.

Yelp
Craft beverages, chill vibe. Loved the Yard Games, which is lemonade, matcha, and sparkling water. Helpful staff.

Catharine P.

Yelp
This place is the epitome of hip! Clearly frequented by college students, but welcoming to everyone - it's very minimalistic inside which is nice. They have 20 beers on tap, 8 of them were local when I was here. It's also a coffee shop but I didn't try the coffee. The barista was very helpful in picking out a local beer for me to try as the menu was on a tv screen that switched screens, and was too annoying for me to deal with (read: lazy and just wanting to pick a beer quickly). Her choice was delicious though! The Ozark IPA, a standard local beer. The other barista was also super helpful in picking out some locally roasted coffee beans for me to bring back as a gift. He answered all my questions and I learned something about roasting along the way! If I were to come back to Fayetteville any time, I'd visit here for sure to try their coffee and food!

Kaleigh K.

Yelp
I went here this weekend since I was in town for my niece's graduation. It has a very modern vibe and seemed like the spot to be for most students. I ordered a flavored latte, which was $6. Okay - I've paid that much in the past, it must be pretty good, right? I took a sip and it was just hot milk - I checked the foam and there wasn't any. I decided to go back up to the barista because it was so bad and she informed me that their espresso machine wasn't working properly and someone was behind the counter fixing it. (Why would you be selling espresso drinks if your machine is down?) I said, "ok I can just grab an energy drink from the refrigerator" and she said "okay, than you're good". But never offered a refund. I understand the stress of a cafe because I've worked in a few, but the staff needs training on these things. You should be pulling shots to test every so often and if your customer doesn't like a drink, offer them a refund or something better. I just left with a bad taste in my mouth and $3 short.

Jessica W.

Yelp
Has good reviews and looks cool so we came here to study but bad vibes all around. After four they don't allow you to have a laptop (aka study or work) in their largest room so it sits empty. Customers are also kinda rude just kind of reach behind you to plug computers in and don't say excuse me etc. Just bad vibes won't come here again.

Darby S.

Yelp
As a student, I was looking for a change of location for my studying. I was met with a full 'study area' and no computers allow on the other side of the building after 4pm. For a coffee shop that is really close to campus, this was very disappointing. I would have left if I hadn't already bought a drink before they told us. I will not be coming back here.

Joshua H.

Yelp
What a great location. The second you pull into the parking lot (easy to park!), you understand that you're in for a great experience. The building itself is large but inviting, and the wide open doors give you a glimpse of the great decor. First impression walking in, "yes". Puritan does everything right from the old restored floorboards to the loft seating area and metal railing. I love the culmination of beer and coffee, so that was an easy plus to add to the list as well. I had their cold brew and was very satisfied. Low acidity and a smooth finish. The only issue with cold brew is that is disappears far too quickly. Would love to have had more time to relax, next time I'll sit outside under the beautiful pergola. Great beer selection, Onyx coffee. What more could you ask for?

Ryan D.

Yelp
I love puritan - it's a super vibey spot, the food and coffee is phenomenal, and the staff is always kind. If all of the above things weren't so great, I would give this spot a much lower score. During the day, it's a coffee shop and would ideally be a great work/study spot. Today, I trudged through the snow a few blocks from my house just to get a change of scenery during my work day and support local business. I sat down, got settled, made a purchase so that I could use the wifi. As soon as I got set up, the staff changed the music and started BLARING the frozen soundtrack. I, and the people around me, were super frustrated. We could hear every word (even through noise-cancelling headphones) of the movie. I feel like if you're going to limit people's screen time (no computers on the left side after 4PM), you need to provide an environment that is appropriate for people to work in. This is not the first time something like this has happened. I think that after 4PM, this place can do whatever they want regarding noise level, as it's been established that screens are not encouraged after that time. Going forward I will work remotely from other coffee shops.

Madeline R.

Yelp
Cute cafe with expansive outdoor seating options. I had a dirty chai latte and the veggie burrito. Both were very good. The prices are very reasonable - the burrito and latte together were less than $10. I sat on the outdoor patio where the tables were spaced pretty far apart. Overall I thought they did a nice job with COVID precautions and signage about masks - even if some patrons did not comply.

Cami P.

Yelp
LOVE Puritan!! only been here once but the smoothie I had was so great i've been craving it ever since. The ambience is also delightful as a student to go and get work done. Highly recommend stopping by to anyone!!

Shelby G.

Yelp
Awesome coffee shop/bar that offers delicious coffee and beer. Grab a wine, beer, or coffee and grab a seat on the patio to watch the happenings on Dickson street. There is a parking lot on the side of the building. Stop by to study or just grab some drinks and chill.

Imaad V.

Yelp
Stopped here after a hiking trip, great place to relax for coffee and a drink to recharge. Ordered a cappuccino, it was served at a drinkable temperature and tasted good. Overall a great coffee shop would come again if I was in the area. Would recommend trying this place out.

David F.

Yelp
Such a great place. I have traveled the world and always look for the best cup of coffee (specifically a Cortado, it's my favorite). Puritan is by far my favorite place. The staff is always welcoming and knows coffee and beer so well. The owner is one of the coolest guys I know, it is obvious to me that he has poured himself into this business and cares about everyone's experience at Puritan. I pray every night that they bring back the home made pop-tart. SO GOOD...mmmmmm.

David P.

Yelp
Opens at 8 am on Saturdays . Ordered a latte and a chocolate zucchini bread. Latte was $4.50 and bread $3. Latte was good and bread was FABULOUS !! If working on a computer wall directly across from entry, there are electrical outlets at either end of the long bench seating. Local, chill vibe. Outdoor seating on a balcony and even has an upstairs seating area. Great place to hang out and chat, work independently or just try the different offerings!

Kate F.

Yelp
Yum. Anything with their salsa verde is a win. It's so damn good. My daughter says it's the best chai in town. And I think she's tried them all. We tried the homemade pop tart tart and it was heaven. This place says coffee and beer but the food is great too.

Chris O.

Yelp
The coffee is phenomenal here. The only downsides are that it's always packed to the max and the music they play is super loud & inappropriate.

Denise B.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop in Fayetteville. Coffee is great and the team is friendly. Great outdoor & indoor space.

Addie B.

Yelp
I got the banana and peanut butter toast and one of the seasonal lattes. The food looks great (see pictures) but tastes even better! The atmosphere is good for homework, meetings, really just about anything. The music can be a little loud so phone calls are hard to take if that's what you're doing. I loved it here and will absolutely be back!

Jonathan W.

Yelp
2 reviews 1. The Coffee Shop--Pretty Sweet I have had some experiences here. I've met nice people and people that were not so nice. Generally I have found the environment to be what you expect from a coffeehouse, inviting, chill, lots of seating, and vibes that are conducive to reading, hanging out, or just chilling. The wrinkle on this coffee shop is that it's also a beer place. I think they have pretty decent coffee and people drinking beer at 9:30 am so there's that! Then again I mostly just order the drip coffee. This is the first place I've been introduced to coffee served with lemonade like a Arnold Palmer style ice tea, which I find delightful. Turkey sandwich is probably the most hearty item I have had on the menu. The avocado toast with an egg is also good. Other than that the other food is not the largest portions I've ever had but it's also pretty good. I found the barista's here generally to be pretty nice and some of them even like cool enough that you want to hang out with them outside work. Just never ever ever ever ever never ever, draw them. Trust me just don't. They no likey the drawing-ee. Your life and credit score will just be better. Trust. Me. There are a couple things I find baffling about this place: the reviews, the name, and people calling it hipster. First, people that are crazy critical of how people serve coffee need to reassess life's priorities. Boujee. This place serves coffee and a little food. WTH do you want? Second, the name. Just gonna go out on a limb and say it might be attracting these Boujee types. I mean who came up with this name? It's kinda funny. Lets name a chill coffee shop with beer after some of the most judgmental people in history ha ha sure they burned women on their period as witches, thought masturbation caused blindness, and got kicked out of Europe for being annoyingly pious (even for reformation standards), but hey have a brew! [back slap ye ol friend] It's kinda like saying you'll be judged when you get here, but at least there's beer and caffeine! Lol Sure the Puritans came to America looking for something better, but let's contextualize what that meant. They came looking for a chance to set up crazy utopian societies for fellow judgmental a-holes that still affect America till this day. They wanted freedom for themselves, not people who felt differently to them. I digress. This sounds negative. I like the place just find the name odd. This is not a hipster place. I just moved to Northwest Arkansas and spent my career working in places like New York and LA. I mean I'm sure you'll find a hipster inside complaining about how their barista isn't God almighty, but a nice logo and wall painting does not a hipster make. Your more likely to see people in here wearing Chocos than horned rimmed black frames and people playing polo on fixed gear bikes in the parking lot. Coffee shops have an aesthetic in 2019 people. I'm sure hipsters have already given up on this aesthetic because someone other than themselves likes it. Review 2. There's more! The toilets! By far the scariest ride in the park. Not to mention the copyright disclaimers (legally questionable), the toilets are a little on the dereleeek side of things. Also, the hand dryer's are mounted to the wall at a height that blows the water off your hands into your face. The toilets really should probably be tuned up a bit. This is a nice place, the bathrooms don't match the niceness level of the rest of the joint. I've overheard a crusty old man complain that he didn't think his wife would sit on that. I guess she wouldn't. I don't know her. I have met the owners though, they're very nice people, and I'm sure they're working on it, but perhaps we could work on it a smidge faster? if I could say that gently as someone who has no clue what it's like to start a coffee shop or what their overhead is. I'm sure the employees will enjoy a more pimped out throne though. Literally only reason I can't go 5 stars. Recommendation: just come here and enjoy. No bitching. Or just invest in a nesspresso. I mean it works for George Clooney and Danny DaVito.

Olivia B.

Yelp
Okay, first all the staff needs to have a better hand washing regimen. It's COVID time for god sake!! It's nasty for you to not wash your hands before making drinks!! Especially if you've been on your dirty iPhone, and just counted cash and touch that dirty touchscreen to log in my drink. Also, the dude who was on shift last night has a trash personality and his customer service needs improvement... he was bothered, as I disturbed his conversation with his other bros searing at the bar, running their mouths. Also, he wasn't drinking, why the heck wasn't his mask on? That's would have safe me from having to see his RBF( resting witch face) and sour attitude.

Natalie J.

Yelp
Went to Puritan to meet up with some friends recently to study. I wasn't aware of their outside drink and food rule and their coffee isn't very good and often makes me feel sick, so I just picked up some from 7Brew before meeting with my friends. In a normal situation, a manager would've asked me to step out to finish my beverage, but not this place. Instead of a normal "hey, would you mind not drinking that in here?," A barista looks at me and says "So not cool man, don't do that here. We have our own coffee." I apologize and affirm that it won't happen again before I'm met by the dick of an owner that apparently can't handle interacting with two teenage girls about a minor inconvenience. He approaches our table and greets us by saying "You can't drink that here, throw it away." I offered multiple times to step out to finish my drink but of course his response to a reasonable solution was "no, I own the patio outside too, so that's not going to work." I addressed how shitty his and his employees costumer service was about such a minor inconvenience, to which he kicked us out after standing over us and watching us pack up our things. I called the store after the incident happened to apologize and give some feedback about their costumer service, to which I was met with excuses and even more poor costumer service. The manager basically said "we can't control the owner, we have great costumer service, our business is struggling because of covid." I understand the stress of covid on the restaurant industry as my mom is currently running multiple restaurants, and not once has she had incidents of any kind escalate like this. I was also told that this isn't the first time an incident like this has happened and that it's gone as far a restraining orders. At some point, you might want to consider that the reason your business is struggling is coming partially from within. Learn how to handle and de-escalate situations, maybe hire some nicer people, and I'm sure your 1 star reviews would diminish despite the mediocre food and drinks. Yeah, this place is pretty, but that's about it.

Mr C.

Yelp
Not that great. Coffee very weak and not at all like Onyx would serve it. They were also out of food snd didn't let us know until we reached the front of a long line.

J K.

Yelp
I have to say this place disappointed me because it seemed so cool and has a great vibe but to be honest this staff isn't friendly or sociable and the coffee is way over priced. Don't get me wrong the drink and food here is very good, but there is no reason I should be paying $6 for tiny latte that I could get across the street at doomsday for cheaper and bigger. I really hope this place take a look at these thing and realizes how successful they could be if they would. Are some changes

Stacy P.

Yelp
Stopped in here on Memorial Day for a cup of coffee and to sit outside. I can't really comment on much other than those two things. Lots of benches and tables outside. Shaded seating. Quiet and relaxing. Fit the bill! I looked at the pastries through the glass. Looked yummy!

Juan A.

Yelp
Probably the fact that I came a little over a hour before they close didn't help but the ambience was a little of a let down. In the other hand I really like their beers in tap and how they are display in the screens so you can learn about the ones in rotation at the moment. I went with #5 Ozark Belgium Golden Ale. Really good beer and it totally made up for the ambience.
