Princeville Resort Kauai

It's still just like a dream, 28 years later. The love of your life, Julie Diane accompanied you to the wettest place on planet Earth, and you're her life partner. She's kinda a brunette, except for those reddish highlights and all those freckles. You never had any idea how she could be so lovely, delicious, and absolutely enthralling until you're all in. All in? Who really cares at this point. Regardless of the rabbit-hole, you just have to continue... The Princeville Hotel only continued the dream. Set on the North side of the island and virtually a stone's throw from Hanalei, it's easy to leave all your life for awhile and live the dream. Facilities and the staff are amazing, and you'll wonder why you haven't discovered this portion of Heaven before. Be sure and get a car (I recommend a Budget Mustang convertible) to travel to the South side of the island should the current weather not to be to your taking. Just remember, it's all good at Kauai"s North Coast! Now you know the secret......Whatever you do, don't forget about the special switch for the opaque shower. I promise you'll love it!...

Beautiful! Nice pool and large beachfront area. Enclosed cabanas that were not too crowded, or maybe we got lucky. The brunch at the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. The drinks were a bit pricey but strong and we could drink them in the pool which was awesome. Our friends had rooms there and they were well equipped with big sexy bathrooms. Definitely worth splurging and staying at least one night during your trip.

The 1 Bedroom villas are Large and Luxurious. The hotel staff is AMAZING. Friendly, helpful, thoughtful. It was Easter weekend, so they had fun activities for kids which my toddler enjoyed. The main pool and keiki (kids') pool were Really nice and my little just wanted to keep going back. Pictures don't really do it justice. There are chickens and Nene geese roaming around, as with the rest of the island, so be prepared to see baby chicks. It's adorable. Princeville is a good hour's drive from the airport, so there is a trade off to the location. It's gorgeous, but it means driving/getting a ride if you want to shop away from the resort or enjoy activities on the other side of the island. To be fair, the other side of the island has accommodations where I would say the same thing. Activities on the other side require an hour or so drive. Rental cars are limited, so plan ahead. We used Turo and ended up with a far more reasonable rate. Which made getting around the island far easier.

We came here for the restaurant and bar. The view is great but everyone else know that and at sunset the place is packed. Drink prices are outrageous. Two drink with tip $43. On to dinner. Small Portions, food was not anything special. It looked fancy and well decorated but flavor was mediocre. We ordered a steak and never got a steak knife. Had to cut it with butter knife. The hotel is very out dated looks like 70’s decor. Bathroom in lobby was filthy. The one thing I liked was the singer in the lounge. He was very good.

This resort features one of the most fantastic views in the world. Dining on their terrace is a great experience. They are in a great location for activities on north shore. I withhold a star due to some aging of the facility, the odd meal not perfectly cooked as ordered, and a small portion of the staff less enthused about service likely as a result of their impending closure for remodel. Even so, if you can afford their rates it is a great experience.

The location of this hotel is perfection. The view you get from the lobby is breathtaking. The hotel is oddly set-up making it a little difficult to get to the pool/beach from the rooms. The hallway and elevators are hot and stuffy. We had to take 2 elevators to get to the beach which took about 7 minutes from our room. The beach bar/restaurant service wasn't great but the view of the mountain/ocean masked the poor service. The hotel staff were welcoming and helpful! There is not a more beautiful view in Kauai then the one you'll get from this hotel.

Very expensive, but also very beautiful and luxurious! The rooms are nice, with comfortable beds, good air conditioning, a beautiful bathroom and the most amazing view! The pool is great, just like the beach and the gym. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Food and drinks at the resort are extremely pricey but there are pizza places, restaurants, food trucks and supermarkets in the area. A rental car is essential when staying here and you should know that this hotel has expensive - but well organized - valet parking only. Yes, the hotel is bit dated and the prices are pretty close to ridiculous, but it is still worth 5 stars, cause it’s so awesome!

Let me say the staff was beyond friendly. They made you feel at home. Sitting at the balcony looking out into the ocean during meals was amazing. Great pool area. They were so helpful with anything we needed. They do have shopping center available there. Enterprise was able to go there for our rental. It was also very nice to walk along the beach.
