"For an adventurous, action-packed day trip, Princeville Ranch is the place: their team of locals can lead you through everything from ziplining to horseback riding. There's also swimming, guided tours through the rainforest (where you’ll encounter challenges like scaling down a 10-foot wall of rock and crossing a waterfall—pro-level assistance and safety gear included), and hikes up to Kalihiwai Falls; theirs is the only tour with access to the peak of Pu’u O’ Henui, with a panoramic view of the North Shore."

Awesome place! We had a fantastic time on our Ride & Glide horseback riding & ziplining tour. Our guides were great! Brendan and our beautiful Hawaiian guide really took time to get to know each of us. Scenery is spectacular! What a great day! We will definitely recommend and hope to return!

Awesome introductory horseback riding tour. Being a beginner I didn't know what the heck I was doing riding a horse but our guide Nicole was very helpful. The ride takes you over a few small valleys to a place where you dismount and take to hiking through the jungle a bit to the waterfall. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with any difficulties walking, climbing, hiking etc because there are a few parts where it is slippery, wet or just a bit of a hike. The waterfall was beautiful and we were the only ones there at that time. We got to swim in the pool of the waterfall and climb in back of the falls. Lunch was served which were decent sandwiches considering Nicole had to bring all the food in a little napsack that she had to carry through the hike. We climbed up a very easy rock wall and over a part of the waterfall so our shoes got wet. Bring mosquito repellent as my wife and I got attacked by mosquitoes and came back with about 10 to 20 bites each. The ride back was on the same path which was kind of non eventful but overall a really great adventure.

This was such a fantastic experience! Our tour guide was fantastic (I can't remember her name) and my horse Luna was a great ride. We had incredible views of the mountains and learned about some of the local plants along the way. Highly recommend! Just a note for experienced riders: their horses are trained to ride "english style" which we were not used to so it took a little practice. But they give you time before you actually start the trail to get to know your horse and practice riding a little beforehand. These horses are used to a new person riding them every day and will try to test you to see what they will get away with! If you have no riding experience, that's fine too! They teach you the basics and the horses are very calm and will stick to the trail, since they are used to walking that path almost every day.

Google
Awesome place! We did the hike to the falls. Our tour guide, Janice, was fantastic pointing out wildlife and plant life along the way. Spent about an hour at the falls, where we were able to swim, and were provided a fantastic picnic lunch. The hike itself was not too difficult. Enjoyable day, and would not mind returning in the future for the horseback riding and/or zip line. Nice gift shop with good quality souvenirs.

This place was BEYOND amazing!!! We were lucky enough to have James and Jamie as they were knowledgeable and fun. We did the 4X4, Zip line, water fall and lunch. Money well spent. When we come back we will most definitely go again in hopes we get the same guides. Fun for our age range 5 and up and large groups(we had 18). Safety was great and the guides made sure we were all safe. Great job James and Jamie and incredible views and experience from Princeville Ranch!!!

The trail riding lesson is the high point of our trip. Our family loves animals but we haven’t ridden a horse for a very long time. The horses are very gentle. With no prior experience, I found my horse super easy to control. The ranch is very large. The rancher took us through many areas. I felt we had ridden for a long time even though the ride is about 1.5 hours. It’s a bit pricey but I felt that the money is well spent.

My family and I had the chance to experience both the ATV tour and Horseback riding tour and it was amazing! Our guides were very engaged which made our experience even more amazing. The scenery was incredible filled with Hikes, Ziplining and Waterfalls! I would highly recommend adventuring with Princeville Ranch.

We did a 4x4 tour. As part of the tour we did three zip lines, swam in a water hole and did the 4x4 driving. It rained earlier in the day so it kept the dust down. There were not many puddles so we did not get too muddy. The course had some ups and downs along with some winding turns. Some of the turns were a little slick which added to the excitement. I topped out at 37mph during a straight way. The zip lines were very scenic. They traveled above and around a stream on the property. We really enjoyed the "zips". The swimming hole was nice but was kind of a time filler to inflate the duration of the excursion. I would have preferred to skip it and do more driving. Murph and justin were our guides. They were personable and shared some information about the local geographical landmarks and plants. They maintained a safe experience throughout the excursion. The scenic views were jaw dropping. There were lots of activities on the property. I would be willing to go back and try more of them.

Yelp
Just got back from a great day at Princeville ranch! My wife and I got engaged at the waterfall on this tour back in 96, so we wanted to go back with our son who's turning 10 tomorrow. Reservations were easy, and I called to confirm since I forgot it was Thanksgiving when I made the res. Got a call right back that they were open and ready to go on Thursday! Easy to find, very professional org. Walked in, got our paperwork done in 2 min, then introduced to our horses after a few minute intro. I've only done this a couple times and my son's first time on horseback. Princeville made sure to get us horses that were used to amateurs, we had no trouble at all. Our guide, (Emily?), Was great. She was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Couldn't have asked for a better guide. My son was enamoured! The waterfall is as beautiful as we remembered, bit the hike was a little tougher this time. I'm sure it's the trail, can't possibly be that I'm older and fatter now... This is a great tour, and so worth doing. Nice to support a local business here on Kauai, and we look forward to our next trip

Yelp
I guess my memory isn't so good, The owner said I wasn't here. Hopefully there isn't an imposter posing to be PR or the Owner

Yelp
Great place to take the family for a fun filled day of ATV riding and zip lining. I came here with my family over Thanksgiving break and can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review! Wow! First off, the guys in charge of our group (2 of them) were so fun and helpful getting everyone situated. After you go over the rules and quick lesson, the ATV part was awesome. It took me (the driver) a while to get used to it, but by the end of the day I went full force into the mud puddles. Like the weather usually is on this island, it was clear but then some drizzle which made for a lot of wet puddles and beautiful rainbows. I will not forget this experience with my family, ever! The zip lining part was also fun but could be strenuous for some because I remember we had to hike 15 mins or so to the lines. The rocks and ground were very muddy and slippery so definitely wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty with some grip on them. Clothes and everything for that matter will get dirty on this excursion. Our group was maybe of 10 people or so but imagine doing the few zip lines and then having to wait one by one for each person to go and land. Little time consuming, but I understand it's for everyone safety. During this excursion lunch was provided by Princeville Ranch which was sandwiches and chips and a lot of good toppings. We ate near a small lake that you could jump into from a platform. The lake also had inflatable tubes you could use. On our day, it wasn't the warmest, but on hot summer days this sounds amazing! Recommended items to bring: Dress light, something that can get wet and dirty (I wore board shorts), have a change of clothes in the car and sandals for after. Little backpack with sweater, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, water bottle, so you can put your cell phone and camera in so it doesn't get dirty or wet! At the end of the excursion, make sure you tip your guides well as they live off these tips!! We also went back to the registration store and bought some merchandise. They have a lot of cool hats, t shirts, sweaters, etc. to buy. Overall, I would definitely recommend this company. We all felt safe and had a blast.

Yelp
As I'm prepping for another Kauai adventure to come I'm lovingly reliving some of the great memories from our experience in 2019. We did the day adventure that included kayaking, hiking, swimming, and zip lining. We went in April 2019 and it was one of our first adventures of our trip and definitely one of the highlights! The land is privately owned so the only way to explore this beautiful region is through one of their tours offered. There were other options of adventures but our selection felt best suited to our experience goals. It did not disappoint! They offer lunch and footwear gear as needed before the tour starts. The kayaking was quick but fun that lead to the hiking and zip lining. Overall it was a fun day, very basic skills needed so someone with no experience could definitely take advantage of this fun day. It was a great way to explore and learn more about the fun opportunities on the island. Beautiful landscapes, delicious lunch, helpful staff, all the good things!

Yelp
Eileen and team were absolutely wonderful with our kids: she taught them more than Equis (sp?) but also responsibility and self-confidence. While it was only an hour, I'm certain my kids will remember it forever. Extremely grateful.

Yelp
Beautiful ranch. I suggest if you know how to ride you go somewhere else. This was an expensive boring ride in the middle if the ranch. Nothing but walking allowed. No interesting terrain or a ride to anywhere interesting, like a waterfall, or whatever. Just a walk in a circle in the middle with expansive views. It is a very pretty place

Yelp
Our 2nd day on Kauai consisted of doing the 4X4 off-road adventure at Princeville Ranch. We had a party of 13 and had the absolute best time. Our guides were Troy & Julie and they were awesome. They were informative, patient and just great people to show us around the Princeville Ranch property. The package we had included the ATV tour, 2 ziplines, waterfall and swim then a picnic lunch. It was an unforgettable experience for us all. We had 7 adults and 6 kids in our party. You drive to the Princeville Ranch office location at Kapaka St & Kuhio Highway. You check in there, make your payments, designate your ATV drivers, etc. They have multiple ipads at the registration area so as a group, it shouldnt take you long to get all checked-in. Drivers get a wristband and are the only ones allowed to drive the ATVs throughout the tour. There are also restrooms by the gift shop... From there you drive about a mile or so south to Princeville Ranch located on the right side along Kuhio Highway. Once there, Troy and Julie taught us the rules of the road/ranch. You are given balaclavas, helmets and goggles to wear... They do a quick start and stop test before you're on your way to tour the ranch. The guides are in the lead and last vehicles so they pace the group which keeps everything safe. You navigate the various trails of the ranch at different elevations. You see animals such as horses and cows as well as many birds on the property. You go up a trail to see an amazing vantage point of the Hanalei Valley. It's simply amazing. Everything is so green and lush in this part of the island. There are several photo ops and you will notice the trailing guide is also taking pics of your group throughout the time your'e there. Midway through the tour you come up on their zip line course. It was my 1st time zip lining and it was comforting to be instructed by Troy and Julie on everything we needed to know, things we should do and things we should avoid. Zip lining was a lot of fun for us adults and the kids as well. You are given and fitted with your zip lining helmets and harnesses. From the zip line, you head down to the swimming pond and waterfall area where the guides provide a sandwich lunch for you. There is a covered area where the food is prepped and most of the people eat but there are benches, a hammock and a walk bridge nearby where you can pop a squat while eating... The pond has a deck you can jump from into the water. The kids loved that. There are inner tubes available to float around in. Then after lunch and waterfall time, you make the ride back to the entrance of Princevile Ranch going on some new trails along the way. It was such a good time. All of it... The ATV'ing, zip lining and the waterfalls where we had lunch. Its a beautiful property. Troy and Julie were great. We all had a blast. I definitely recommend Princeville Ranch for their ATV tour. You wont regret it... Prepare to get red dirt EVERYWHERE. Haha. We didnt get real muddy on our time there but if it rains a little while you're on the tour, I can see that happening... At the end, you are given an option to purchase a USB drive with all the pics they took of your group throughout the tour. $20.. Great deal IMO. We got it. Mahalos Princeville Ranch! Mahalos Troy and Julie!

Yelp
Great spot for a visit; did a horse ride and waterfall tour. Group was small and intimate; no getting lost in the crowd, but plenty of space to spread out. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The ranch itself was beautiful with gorgeous mountain views and lush greens. They're ending waterfall tours after June 30, 21 but will continue equestrienne lessons. Would highly recommend. Shout Outs to Karin, Emily & Drake for being so amazingly helpful & courteous.

Yelp
Had an absolutely amazing experience here! My boyfriend and I had Lucy as our tour guide and she's absolutely amazing. Her accent was the icing on the cake but her experience, knowledge and overall personality made this an amazing experience. Lucy made sure everyone felt comfortable and continually was checking in to make sure you were feeling okay. I can't wait to come back to Kauai and ride again and hopefully see Lucy again. The group was 5 including our guide and it great because you didn't feel overwhelmed and it felt very intimate. The views were gorgeous and the horses were unbelievable. I always felt safe and had such a good time. Loved that I could buy some gear as well as tip. Can't wait to come back! THANK YOU LUCY

Yelp
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! This activity truly lives up to its name--"adventures." During our stay, we wanted to try something a little different than the typical water oriented activity. Our concierge recommended 4x4 Jeeping and it was well worth the price (we are returning patrons--my first visit was horseback riding with this company) The appropriate gear was provided by the company and we piled into our open air jeeps. I couldn't ask for better weather...it was a little rainy and the grounds had puddles all around--I was excited to get all dirty!! Miguel and his partner were fantastic guides! We went uphill and downhill, around curves and splashing in the mud puddles. Yes, we got a little dirty. It was worth driving in the rainy weather, the loud engine noise, the exhaust fumes! In addition to the jeeping, our trip included the ziplining and a swim in the watering hole (lunch break). It was great fun--my only wish is that we got a little dirtier with more mud splashing!

Yelp
Fat Phobic - they have a height/weight chart for who can ride at their stables. I have decades of riding experience and there is no safety reason for this chart other than to discriminate and cause shame. While I understand the need to ask weight to ensure you have a proper mount, the height/weight chart is completely ludicrous. Find another business to give your money to, because this place doesn't deserve it.

Yelp
#1 best day of my life ! Thanks Liberty who was our leader. 2 days before Christmas I gave the gift of a waterfall/horseback ride to my guy this year for Christmas and I ended up getting the gift of facing my fear ! He had ridden a few more times than I, and I had not been on horse for over 30 years! I was the first to get on my horse and my FEAR kicked in. After everyone else was getting on their horses I was contemplating on how to get OFF! I told my guy and Liberty I just couldn't do it I was scared to death on that horse but they both said to me, "Do not let your fear's take over you!" They were right and so I did IT! We rode a while then we hiked down to a beautiful waterfall, once we made it there we swam a little then had a nice sack lunch, then we hiked across the waterfall and up and over a 10 foot rock wall with help from a harness. I DID IT!!

Yelp
I had the opportunity to book a horseback ride while vacationing in Kauai. This was the best tour! Sadly they will no longer be offering the waterfall ride but they will be doing trail rides and lessons. I highly recommend the ranch, everyone was super welcoming and friendly, it was a great experience. Shoutout to Tyler for being a great guide too.

Yelp
We had such a fun day in the Ranch yesterday! Mahalo to our guides Josh and Troy, they were so fun! Kiera at the front desk was very helpful and able to book us into a tour (4x4 off road adventure) the morning of since our boat trip was as cancelled last minute. Our adventure began later in the day, giving us time to go find white shirts to wear for a true hawaiian souvenir (from the red dirt). The UTV's were so fun and the views and ride were awesome! I've never zip-lined before, and I was definitely scared, but Josh made me laugh with a lot of jokes and Troy was very calming, so soon I was having a great time! I am so glad I did it. Everything was 5 star, my husband and I will be booking again and you should too! Awesome that you can buy photos that they take too. Thank you for the best day! If you're lucky you'll meet jungle cats too!

Esther L.

Yelp
Our guides Derek and Mark made the experience particularly notable. I've done many ziplines with camps before (I'm a teacher that brings her students), but after awhile, often times the employee's zeal and energy runs low when they have to keep repeating themselves over and over. However, their jokes, travel tips, historical insight about the flora and vegetation, and constant checks for safety made the 4.5 hours enjoyable and memorable. It was their personality that allowed our group to feel super comfortable with one another within minutes. Side shoutout: I'm a teacher and am supposed to be good at memorizing names but these guys got it down SUPER fast. They remembered our names in a heartbeat and were extremely personable. Even if you've ziplined before, it probably won't compare to what Princeille Ranch offers as their lines are longer, higher, and definitely much more scenic. Thank you again, Derek & Mark!

Yelp
Super crew! We went for the horseback ride and zipline tour- great guides! I love zipping and Go every time I am in the HI islands so I was really excited about the zipline part of the tour but when it comes to HORSES- scary! We had fun and entertaining young women who taught us basic commands for our mounts and made sure we were fully comfortable and competent to ride these gentle beasts through the beautiful pastures of Princeville. What a happy loving energy to feel that Kauai breeze and the tropical sun as you and your horse amble gently down the paths to reach the three zipping platforms. Don't be afraid to Zipline!!! We had 5 female guests of various ages on our tour who were really nervous and I kept telling them they were safe and would love it. They smiled at me skeptically and I just kept encouraging them to relax in their harness and enjoy the view because the guides do all the work FOR you. You don't have to worry about stopping yourself because the guides use ropes with blocks to stop you when you approach the platforms. The guides are also happy to snap any pics you'd like and also give you a list of great places to enjoy a meal or a sunset!

Bernadette Y.

Yelp
We went on the Zip Express and had a great time on the 9 lines they offered. The first line is pretty easy, and progresses to the last line that is over 1000 feet. The whole experience was super fun and our guides Mark and Omar were great. The group we went with was pretty easy. No one freaked out and no one had to be pushed off the edge. The views are amazing, so be sure to relax and look around you as you're gliding across. As a side note. I would not consider myself as small, but apparently small enough to not make it all the way to the other landing without some help. For sure they will get you to the other side, but just make sure you listen to their instructions at the beginning and you'll be fine. I didn't make it all the way on 2 lines, but one was the longest line they had. They toss you a rope that you hold on to and they pull you in. Overall, it was a great experience and would totally recommend this adventure.

Lisa G.

Yelp
There's a reason Princeville Ranch has such great Yelp reviews ... and that's because they have it figured out! You want fun? You want professionalism? You want a safe place to play for all ages? Well, then Princeville Ranch is there for you! My friends and I zip lined on our last day in Kauai at Princeville Ranch. If it hadn't been our last day, we would have returned from more of their offerings. (Oh well, next time.) They have all kinds of adventures (that aren't too crazy ... hence the "good for all ages"). We lucked out and got a smaller group for our zip line excursion so we had plenty of time to talk and get to know each other. Our guides helped facilitate that fun which made the experience even better. Each zip line was really well maintained and super safe (I've done some crazy stuff in Thailand and Costa Rica ... and let me tell you ... Princeville is SAFE. Seriously, the folks in my group were mostly in their 70's and with the safeguards at Princeville, it was really easy to "take off" and "land". SMOOOOOTH). The guides also made sure we understood everything we needed to do for for a successful zip-zip. They also made sure we didn't step in cow pies. Thank you for that! The facilities where you check in are nice as well. Parking is a cinch. Oh, and the restroom was super clean ... Very important! The whole facility is nice and well run. So, stop reading and just go do some stuff. Its a good place!

Yelp
My husband and I took the horseback ride to the waterfall and it was incredible!! Their land is absolutely astounding and the tour was worth every penny. I did notice that a previous report mentioned the horses kicking, and we did have one instance in our tour where the horse tried to kick another horse. It was a bit scary in the moment, but nothing happened. We did not have an issue controlling the horses however; all our horses were well behaved and followed commands. Mostly, they just follow each other. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Although we had one kicking event, we felt safe on the horses and wouldn't hesitate to talk our kids.

Curtis S.

Yelp
We did the ATV/Zipline/hiking tour. AMAZING! The tour guides Miguel and Derek were beyond professional yet extremely fun and light hearted at the same time. We started out driving ATVs all over the ranch with amazing views. Stopped and hiked well maintained trails with water and beautiful Views everywhere you look. Ending at a swimming hole where the guides set up a very nice picnic lunch for us. I really want to try the horseback riding when I come back. This was worth every penny and one of the top things of the trip.

Lindsey R.

Yelp
My daughters and I had the most magical time trail riding on Princeville Ranch. Their land is gorgeous, their horses are adorable, and their staff goes above and beyond to make your experience memorable. We had Emily as our guide. She was so sweet, informative, and patient. Thank you for a wonderful time Princeville Ranch.

Destenie T.

Yelp
Lucy was such an amazing instructor. We flew in from Oahu and she was so knowledgeable, welcoming, kind and knew each of our names by heart! Before we even introduced ourselves. The tour was breathtaking but the experience and kindness from lucy and brennan made it ubforgettable. Definitely will visit again!

Tamara M.

Yelp
AMAZING! We loved our ATV & Zipline adventure. Our guides, Tyler & Jack, were hilarious! Whether they were going over safety rules, showing us the best photo opportunities, talking about zip lining or making us lunch their comedy kept the group engaged and paying attention. It is obvious these two enjoy their jobs and Princeville Ranch is a fun place to work. I imagine there is never a dull moment with these two around. Driving the ATV & riding the Ziplines was fun too.

Sarah A.

Yelp
Horseback - waterfall AND 4x4 adventure with zip line We did both these tours and loved them! Horseback was just the right amount of time. The hike is slippery with mud and I recommend hiking boots over tennis shoes. The water was great and our guides had lots of good information. The horses were well behaved. Our party had riders with no experience and I have 30 years on horseback and we all had fun! We had Tommy and Shannon for guides and they were really great The 4x4 adventure was also great. They stopped for great photo ops and while we got great shots ourselves we did end up buying the photos they took of our trip because the quality was amazing. We did not purchase the photos from the horseback trip. Again the hike is slippery so I recommend boots over tennis shoes. We did get very muddy. Wear stuff you wouldn't be devastated if it was stained. I wore a lighter colored tank top and while most of the red mud came out there is a slight hue in a few areas. The dirt here is very red and used to dye things. Everyone who wore darker clothes had no issues when we washed. It was just my light sea blue tank that has some staining Take bug spray just in case and rain jacket as Kauai is rainy and you may get a drizzle or too

Erin D.

Yelp
We did the waterfall hike at the Princeville Ranch. Our group of 7 was made up of my husband and I (we are both 30), and then several older individuals ranging 40-late 60s I'd guess. Our hike day apparently fell after some substantial rain so the conditions were SUPER muddy, rocks were wet and slick, and the river was rushing (and in my opinion dangerous). Before leaving the ranch they offered us ziploc bags for our phones (free), and we had the option to purchase water shoes to wear for $5 (very reasonable), and nutrition bars, water bottles, bug spray, etc. We then were driven in a van to the ranch, where our group of 7 and our tour guide were dropped off. The hike started off easy as we walked up a few hills and through some meadows and then we were in the rainforest and in some serious mud. Our guide stopped along the way to point out numerous plants, nuts, and fruits, and she let us sample several of these straight from the tree, which was nice! When we got to the water portion of the hike, we attached our belts to a metal wire and descended down a 10 foot rock. This was QUITE a bit more difficult than I had imagined. The older individuals on our hike were concerned about this but shakily made it down. When we exited hours later via the same rock wall, but this time were going up instead of down, they had some serious difficulty. The rock was wet and slippery and in my opinion it was too dangerous for climbing. They honestly barely made it up. And while you are clipped to a metal wire, you would still fall quite a ways (and land on rock) if you slipped. What was even more dangerous was crossing the water right after the rock wall. The water was rushing! We were hooked to a metal wire and we precariously attempted to move from rock to rock as we crossed the water. This was super tricky, rocks were slippery, and the water was rushing. Not to mention immediately behind our backs was a 20 - 30 ft drop off which was a waterfall. Yes, we were hooked by the waist to the metal rope but the water was rushing by and I couldn't help but wonder what would happen if one of us missed a rock step. The guide mentioned the conditions were much different than usual given the amount of rain they had gotten. This would have been nice to know BEFORE this hike, so I could have opted out (which I definitely would have done had I known to expect these conditions). After the rock wall and waterfall crossing, we crossed water many more times and all were challenging. You were in water up to your knees and the water was so murky you had no idea what you were stepping on (I think this was caused by the weather). Also, we couldn't swim (which was an advertised portion of the tour) because the water was super muddy from all the rain. I think this hike could be fun (but still challenging) without the rushing water caused by the serious rain, but with the rushing water and slippery conditions this was far too dangerous for me. I see that children aged 5 and up can attend the hike, but I can't fathom how a child could do the slippery rock wall and deal with the rushing water. Our whole group is as exhausted by the time we made it back to the van (5.5 hours after the hike began). From wading through a lot of rushing water, to the tricky rock wall, to overall apparent danger... this was mentally and physically challenging. Also worth noting that we got COVERED in mud. Mud well above our shoes, on my shorts and all over my shirt (We trashed our shoes and shirts after the hike). My husband and I also got cuts on our lower legs from the overgrown paths and the underwater rocks we hit when wading through the rushing water.

Yelp
We did the waterfall picnic horseback ride and it was so fun. The horses are super well trained and our guide Kyle was very nice and helpful. The waterfall they take you too is beautiful and serene. Swimming underneath it is so refreshing and there's even a changing room there. The lunch consisted of sandwich, chips, and a cookie which really hits the spot after the little hike. This is my favorite activity we did in Kauai and I highly recommend!

Yelp
My family and I did a zip n dip tour with Josh and Jenna. It was super fun and they did a good job of making sure we felt safe. Fave zip line-King Kong! I won the race! But overall the absolute best part was swimming in the secluded lagoon of cool, freshwater under a tiny waterfall. One of the best afternoons spent with my family, bar-none!! Josh had some interesting info on tour too, like movies that had been shot in the area, and other facts about Kaua'i. Really great experience and would recommend! It took me some time to hike from some spots to others, but just took breaks and pushed through. Well worth it!

Yelp
My 8 year old daughter and I did the waterfall horseback ride at Princeville Ranch and all I can say is wow! Breathtaking views, gentle horses and amazing knowledgeable staff. We had a phenomenal day thanks to the entire staff at Princeville Ranch, thank you so much!

My Husband and I took part in the horseback ride to the hidden waterfall excursion, and it was amazing. I was a first time rider, he a second time rider and we got lucky in the group department. Were in a group of 5 total, 2 of which were experienced riders whom I felt help keep an eye on my husband and I. Our guide was Hi"ilani, and she was excellent. Before getting onto the horses she went over some basic commands and how to maneuver the horse. I was paired with my spirit animal, Scotty and my husband was with MaKai. I feel like we were paired with appropriate horses for our skill level. The ride to the hike and waterfall was around 45 minuets, and it was absolutely breathtaking. When we made it to the entrance area for the hike to the waterfall, Hi''ilani helped each of us from the horses and tied them up. In the description of the excursion, it said the hike was 15-20 minuets and steep...they weren't lying! Admittedly my husband and I are out of shape, so the hike down was really hard for us and it was super muddy from the rain the night before. Once we reached the waterfall we were allowed to swim, which was so amazing and really refreshing after the ride and hike. We were provided with a sandwich picnic, which Hi''ilani set up so nicely. We met the resident chickens Kevin and Deb, who were well behaved and didn't try to eat our lunch. After swimming and lunch it was time for the hike back. We hiked partly back up the stairs/path we came down, but this time we adventured on towards the river and rock wall. We were attached to a metal wire which crossed the river at the top of the waterfall. Being out of shape, crossing the rocks were a challenge. Next up was the 10 foot rock wall, which again was a challenge. Once atop of the waterfall the views were breathtaking. After a little further hike by the river we made it back to the horses. The ride back to the ranch was much easier and quicker. Overall, the experience was great and we would absolutely do it again!

Yelp
I don't think there is a more beautiful place on earth to do a horseback ride! This ranch was stunning and the horses were in beautiful shape. Our guide Emily was amazing and took great photos for us at no additional cost. You need to be in decent shape to do this ride hike and rock climb. Emily really helped me out because due to the pandemic I had very little exercise in over a year. (Actually none) She helped me get up that 10 foot rock wall and stopped me from sleein the Bronx (slipping on the wet rocks) during the hike. And overall a great experience that I would highly recommend!

Yelp
Beautiful ranch. Emily was such a great tour guide. Horse ride was private and perfect.

Yelp
Just finished Princeville Ranch's "Zip and Dip," a combination of nine zip line adventures, plus swimming in an idyllic fresh water swimming hole and eating a tasty lunch. So here's the review . . . . Fantastic zip line experiences, with plenty of guidance and instruction for those who have no experience. Top priority of safety, then beauty, fun, and adventure. The swimming hole was like a Hawaii movie set, except it was real. Cool, fresh water, inner tubes, and a jumping rock. And the lunch was delicious. The unexpected plusses? First, our guides, Troy (Murph) and Emily were delightful, knowledgeable, helpful, lots of fun. They added plnety of extras about island life, flora and fauna, etc. Troy and Emily were great. Second, the scenery. Yes, you get to do the "Zip and Dip," but in an amazingly beautiful location, a portion of Kauai that most tourists don't get to enjoy. Stunning vistas, mountains, fields of grass, jungle gorges, cloud formations, etc. If you read along in the reviews, you'll find some who gripe about the cost of the experience. Yes, it's true that this isn't cheap. When I first saw the cost, I wondered if it would be worth it. Now, I know it was well worth it. Glad we risked it. A great family experience (once your kids are at least ten years old and 75 pounds). But a person would have a fine time going solo, too, or as one of a couple. So, highly recommended! I'd do another adventure with Princeville Ranch for sure.

Yelp
I went on 2 tours with Princeville Ranch - the Zip N Dip and the Waterfall Horseback ride. I enjoyed both experiences tremendously! Derek and Charlie were our tour guides for the zip n dip. They were both very knowledgeable about the plants and terrain that we went on. They explained everything very clearly and made us all feel at ease. Each of them were easy to talk to and made us laugh all throughout the trip. Derek took hilarious pictures of us! It was my first time zip lining, and would love to do it again. Nawi was our horseback guide. He was also knowledgeable about the horses, and told us interesting historical facts about the land and plants that we saw. This wasn't my first time riding a horse, but I felt much more comfortable because of the attention to details. Nawi and his group made sure we were all saddled comfortably, had good posture and was able to guide our horses well enough to have fun on the ride. Loved my horse, Manini! Overall, I would recommend Princeville Ranch for any of their tours, as I am sure that each tour is well done and expertly guided.

Yelp
We did a horseback riding tour & it was a blast! Waterfalls, hiking, picnic lunch & horseback riding. Such a wonderful way to spend a day of our vacation! The guide was incredibly knowledgeable about Hawaiian horticulture which I loved. She was extraordinarily outgoing, warm, and extremely knowledgeable around horses. I really enjoyed her as our guide. The views were spectacular and a different perspective from other vistas because you are crossing (on horseback) green, rolling hills with the majestic peaks in the background. It's an absolutely beautiful ride. Can you tell I'm a nature jut? So take it with a grain of salt The waterfall itself was brisk but so romantic. I loved dipping in with the love of my life & watching the water rush down from above; it was quite an experience. Certainly a first for me! Hiking isn't too strenuous and the steps are slick but manageable. I'd highly recommend this tour. We commented right after, we'd do it again. It was a great way to spend a day of our holiday! Thank you! Photos to come...

Yelp
"Go to a Beautiful Ranch and ride gorgeous horses to waterfall in Kauai." Sounds like a dream is what my sister said when I told her what we had scheduled for the day. And a dream come true is what it became. The guides Brennan and Drake made very personable connections with us during our ride. Also snapped photos of us while giving us history of the ranch and the history of raising cattle and how cowboying became apart of hawaii life. This is most definitely a must do if you come to the Kauai.

Yelp
This place was AWESOME. Josh and Curtis ( or so I hope) where amazing . Let me start off by saying you get more than what you pay for. You arrive and fill out the waiver forms. Turn them in. If you payed online they say thank you and tell you your tour guide will meet you at the right. If you didn't then you pay and then go to your right. As soon as everyone gets there we leave. (Please dont be the one to hold the group back). They start off by giving you all the equipment then they give you a brief description of what's to follow. They get a volunteer and show and help you put on your gear. Finally you get on in a van and head over to where you will do your hike zip line. We did the zip and dip. So much fun. You start off by doing small ones and gradually it gets longer and faster. Right before the last one (KING KONG) You get to eat lunch and jump into the water. Awesome ( you have to jump in the water if you do the zip and dip.) Lunch was awesome and Josh and Curtis make it memorable. Finally the final event The KING KONG. Its long and fast and after a long break it feels scary to go up and then jump off. But you have to do it. Its GREAT All In all. We had fun. Great company, laughs and an overall good few hours. So worth the money. Wish I had more time to do more. If your here give them a try

Yelp
Tons of fun! Tour was well managed and safe. Guides were informative and friendly. Highly recommend this for the adventurous type looking for something more than just the beach experience!

Yelp
We wanted to do a memorable fun activity for our last day on the island of Kauai. After doing some research, we decided on a zip line adventure and found Princeville Ranch. We called in to book the reservation for the very following day and was pleasantly surprised to find it was cheaper to book via phone than the online reservation system (avoids fees). Our guides for the zip line tour were Mark and Jerome. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about everything relating to zip lining and about the history of the islands of Hawaii. The zip express tour is approximately 3.5 hours long, starting with the short van ride from the offices to the ranch itself. There are a total of 9 zip lines, with the last 3 being the longest and tallest. The final line "The Big Kahuna" is a 1/4 mile line that takes off from a tall tower. It's also unique because you can race another person across since there are 2 lines total. From the check in process to the final steps of the tour, the whole staff for Princeville Ranch were courteous and very helpful. They answered all questions and made sure your experience was great. They also offer other services such as horseback riding, waterfall tours and ATV tours so check them out if you are in Kauai!

Yelp
Had an amazing trip riding horses to the waterfall and back. The scenic trip was beautiful and the waters were refreshing. Emily is a fantastic guide and made the trip wonderful along with the fabulous four(horses); Blondie, Blueberry, Montana and Sizzler. We couldn't have asked for a better morning adventure on our island vacation. Thanks for giving my family some wonderful memories to take home with us. Highly recommend this establishment, our guide Emily and this trip.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I did the Zip n' Dip tour, our guides were Justin, Miguel, and Deegan and they were a lot of fun and super knowledgeable! The zip lines were fun, beautiful views...but we loved the swim the best! Beautiful little stream with a tiny waterfall and ledge to jump, they also provide tubes to float around which was nice! The guides and their interactivity honestly makes the experience though because aside from us the group was pretty quiet and without the guides making jokes and interacting it probably would've felt more like just waiting on line at theme park so kudos to the staff!

Yelp
Yes another 5 stars rating! This place made my trip to Kauai so memorable as my husband and I zip lined for the very first time. If you want to find a safe place to start and not traumatized by loosen hooks or people fallen off half way, this is the safest place you can bet your life on. They have so many safety awards and certifications you wouldn't believe it! The glide couldn't be any smoother and the view was amazing! The hike to the waterfall and kayaking was relaxing and energizing as well. Our guide( sorry I couldn't remember his name but please see his selfie picture with my phone) and another beautiful guide were fun and we learned so much from them. Good tips on happy hours places in the neighborhood too! Overall we will come back again to zip line or try other activities that they offer.

Yelp
Well run operation, friendly and organized. I participated in the zip line express. 9 lines, it goes by quickly. It's definitely a workout, lots of fun. Take lots of pictures along the way, I thought the flash drive of pictures was weak and overpriced. The money shot off of King Kong is worth it if you have the right wind direction. When we went it was a head wind and the first couple to go the man got stuck in the middle, so we all waited and the guide recommended we not take the money shot so we could make it across the 1200 feet. Have fun!

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience. We had a really awesome guide who's name I can't remember which makes me feel bad. He took a bunch of pictures on his phone that he sent to us, and we also purchased the pictures he took with the ranch's camera at the end. We went in May 2019. It was just myself and my husband on a late honeymoon and a family of 5. From youngest to oldest everyone was a good sport and participated so that made it fun. The horses were fun. Definitely an easy ride, we only went at a walking pace. The scenery around and through the ranch was absolutely beautiful and the lunch spot where we got to swim and jump from a waterfall was awesome. The climbing and going across the top of the waterfall was pretty easy. Even the littlest boy could do it, but I wasn't looking for a major challenge. It was just fun.

Yelp
My significant other and I did the 9 zip line course on Monday 9/16/2019. It was a phenomenal and exhilarating experience. Our guides Mark and Tanner were cool dudes, professional and at all time safety conscious. Their attention to each of us to make sure we were comfortable and confident was reassuring and made the experience an amazing adventure. Both of us are in our 70's and it was awesome. This is an amazing way to feel young. Ellie & Marc La Jolla CA

Yelp
We had an awesome time at Princeville Ranch! We brought our 6 and 9 year olds and we all loved every minute of the adventure. We hiked, kayaked and went zip lining, then cooled off in a watering hole where we had lunch. I highly recommend this to anyone, but especially those with kids that want some adventure on their vacation!

Yelp
Our guides, Jason and Mark, made our first sip lining experience fun, informative and safe. These two guys were amazing. They immediately remembered every single person's name in the group and they made the adventure about zip lining and so much more. They told us a little Hawaiian history, insider places to go, and pointed out so many interesting facts about the beautiful nature that surrounded us every second of the tour. The zip lining was so fun! I am a little afraid of heights, but I wasn't afraid at all, even on the highest ones. Jason and mark always reminded us where to look while zipping so we wouldn't miss anything. I would come back here in a heartbeat, and they have other cool things to do such as horseback riding. This is an awesome operation!
