Praça do Comércio 31 34, 1100-148 Lisboa, Portugal Get directions

"With 90 rooms and suites it’s no small affair. The classic rooms are swanky enough, and upgrades span the range all the way up to the river-view suites and the D. Perignon suite, which is over a hundred square meters of exactly what you’d expect the Perignon suite to be. Equally bubbly are the public spaces, the elegant restaurant and bar, and the extravagant ballroom, which might just make you wish you were here for more than just a hotel stay." - MICHELIN Guide

"The Pestana Hotel Group has a knack for turning historical properties into luxe hotels; the Pousada de Lisboa is no exception. Situated on Lisbon’s grandest square, the Praça do Comércio, the 90-room property inhabits the elegant former home of the Ministry of Internal Administration. Furnishings combine clean, modern lines with ornate wall moulding and a neutral color scheme dominated by pale greens and whites. Choose one of the mezzanine rooms for views of São Jorge Castle; the high-ceilinged Suite Praça do Comércio offers sweeping vistas of the square and River Tagus from two large windows. The hotel’s RIB Beef & Wine restaurant caters to the expense account crowd, specializing in premium cuts of meat aged for 14, 28, or 60 days and served with a regional touch: Lodosa piquillo peppers. There’s also an indoor pool lined with loungers, and a spa offering a full range of treatments, including a body scrub inspired by the scents of Madeira and the Algarve."

We had an amazing stay at the Pousada de Lisboa. We arrived on an early flight and the staff greeted us warmly and got us checked in and our bags stored so that we could explore Lisbon while we waited for our room to be ready. They recommended local sights and food options that were fantastic. The room was spacious and well appointed. Cleaning service was prompt and they also provided a turn down service each evening. I highly recommend this hotel if your travels take you to Lisbon

What a great place to stay! Tuna at the front desk was so kind and helpful after a long travel day. Lots of amenities within the hotel, great location and the rooms are very comfortable. The service from everyone I encountered was 100%!

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. We stayed here both at the beginning of our trip to portugal and at the end. The location is wonderful- within walking distance of many sights and close to public transportation. The hotel is beautiful. It is a former monastery. The public areas are very nice. The rooms we stayed in were of a nice size, spotlessly clean and with a very comfortable bed. The gift of a handpainted tile upon our arrival was a very nice touch. Breakfast was the best of any of the five hotels we stayed at during our trip. A plentiful and beautifully presented buffet with fruits, meats, cheeses, quiche, pastries, breads, etc was wonderful. In addition, they have a menu with hot entrees that you can order that are also included. Perhaps what makes this hotel stand out even more is the wonderful staff. Everyone was so warm and welcoming and helpful. The front desk staff and bellmen and the lovely servers in the restaurant in the morning- always so cheerful and welcoming. A special shout out to Lenny in the breakfast room- she was so nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Lisbon and hope to stay here again someday.

Everything about this hotel is 5 star. The service is great, they clean the rooms twice a day. The location is close to touristic places and the staff is friendly. The breakfast has variety of options. They were very responsive to our requests, in our last day they got us a taxi and prepared breakfast for us. Here is a picture of their lovely Christmas tree in the breakfast area.

My second time to Lisbon but Pousada and their staff made this trip the best yet! From the moment Lionel picked us up at the airport with his big beautiful smile we felt like we were with family! We talked like old friends with him pointing out things for us to see and do and when checking in Tuna and Andre were absolutely wonderful and full of smiles and laughing at my bad jokes :) We had an absolutely incredible time and the whole staff was truly incredible! On our way back from the sauna Soraia ran up behind me to give me the cutest little flower for no reason and it made my whole day! I can't wait to return to enjoy the company of old friends and the delicious breakfast and restaurant! The location was fantastic, the rooms were fantastic, truly a 10 out of 10 but next time we will need to stay longer!

We have just returned from a four night stay at this wonderful property in celebration of my wife's 50th birthday. I wanted to make this trip as perfect as possible and finding the right hotel for us was the essential. I have only the most positive things to say about the hotel and the amazing staff, all of whom worked so hard to ensure we really did have 'The Time of Our Life'.||We had one issue after checking in as the bathroom for the room did not have an overhead shower, only a hand-held wand. There are only 2 standard rooms like this, so it is wise to specify if you need an overhead shower (though hopefully they will install a proper shower head on the upright bar that is already installed with appropriate mechanism to switch from one to the other). Having a bad knee injury this would be dangerous for me, and we were moved to another room later in the day that had a rainshower. The staff, particularly Marlene, could not have been kinder nor more helpful then and throughout the stay. In this regard the hotel shone brightly. Real genuine care, kindness and friendliness. The teams at breakfast and in the bar were equally nice and helpful. We just felt so at home.||The hotel is beautiful - very modern rooms but the public areas are so comfortable, stylish and grand. The lobby lounge with the piano was such a treat, and I have to thank Tuna, Diogo and Andre for their enthusiasm to have me play an Elton John set each night, and their very kind comments afterwards! The hotel location is perfect for the river, Baixa and Alfama districts but also to walk down to the Time Out Market. Many transportation options so getting around was so easy.||Finally, the breakfasts are excellent! A great choice on the buffet plus some a la carte items as well. Local Portuguese cheese (including Queijo de Serra, my absolute favourite), pastries, tortes, pasteis de nata and so much more. In the end we did not eat at the restaurant but we did enjoy drinks in the bar which is very atmospheric and again with a great team!||A big thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome and valued, and particularly in ensuring my wife's 50th birthday was perfect.

We stayed in Lisbon and Porto on our trip recently and in 3 hotels (4 nights in Lisbon to start, 4 in Porto following, and the last night in Lisbon awaiting our flight the next morning. Had I to do it over again I would have stayed at the Pousada Lisboa all nights in Lisbon. Wonderful staff, very nice accommodations and great location, Just a beautiful old building with rich history and made over into a very nice hotel. The on-site restaurant was also excellent (RIB) and the service equally as good. Our room was well appointed, large and had a small balcony where we sat and had coffee in the morning. Wonderful experience all around. I stay almost exclusively at Hilton properties, and this SLH hotel is superb. Well done.

Just back from a memorable weekend in Lisbon. Couldn't recommend this hotel enough. Beautiful setting and perfect location to walk almost anywhere in Lisbon. Room was lively. Bar is idyllic. Great selection and quality of breakfast. Decor is rustic, yet with modern comforts. There was a lovely hand painted tile in our room as a keepsafe which is a really nice touch. The staff were extremely friendly and always wanted to assist. Special mention to Andre at reception and Luis in the bar. Would highly recommended this hotel if visiting Lisbon. Thank you for a memorable weekend.

Yelp
Stayed here 1 night end of April 2023, after checking out our 3 night stay at Hyatt Regency Lisbon. ** Pro Tip: Look for Rib Beef and Wine Restaurant as they are in the same building! The location is very central but the hotel was kinda hidden in a way because the hotel signage was quite small. We walked by many times but still confused with Google Map :) Since it was in the heart of Lisbon, the price was quite high. It was close to 400eu Sunday night and IMO on the pricey side for the size of the room given. There were some nice touches that we loved about this hotel. A little spoiler in the photos. The breakfast buffet was excellent and staff friendly.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time at Pousada de Lisboa, Praça do Comércio! The location is right across from a beautiful square, and the water. I feel like it's central to everything: shopping, eating, and you can Uber or taxi anywhere in the city. It was incredibly clean, I felt like the rooms are large, especially by European standards. And the service was on point from check-in all the way through to our check out. They have a great restaurant for steak onsite. I'd stay here again if I come back to Lisbon.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow.. I don't know where to begin. We are on our third day here at Pousada de Lisboa, which we booked through our travel agent at Spain Top. From the moment we entered our hotel we have been blown away by the impeccable service, central location, and wonderful amenities. We arrived early around 1pm and both of our rooms were ready. The receptionist staff was OUTSTANDING: They greeted us as if they'd been expecting us and made check-in an absolute breeze. They helped us plan out our day, which turned out to be fabulous. Both receptionists were beyond kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious and in such a lovely setting. This afternoon we came back to the hotel for a rest and enjoyed delicious, complimentary tea service. After a siesta, I realized I had lost my sunglasses. I went downstairs to ask the receptionist and low and behold they had my sunglasses which housekeeping had found in the hallway and graciously returned. Also when I went to acquire an additional key, the receptionist didn't need my room number or name because he already knew them.. This is the definition of a FIVE STAR hotel. I'm extremely selective and let me just say that this hotel has surpassed my expectations. If we return to Lisbon this is where we'll be staying!! And by the way, the location cannot be beat! A+ hotel :)

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It is phenomenal. From the decor, to the food, to the wonderful service this place is a winner. The concierge and team were helpful for all things associated with my trip to Lisbon prior to my arrival. The corresponded politely and quickly via email for every need. Without skipping a beat I received a free upgrade, taxi service, recommendations and reservations for dining, stellar breakfast, and even a lovely to go bespoke breakfast package before my early flight. Even sweeter, I had a surprise pastry tray in my room waiting after a day of exploring due to a longer check in process. Every member of the staff is eager to please and so proud to do what they do. Overall, the beds sleep well. The facilities are all top notch and there isn't a shortage of places to sit, or experiences to have within the hotel or by the arrangement of one of their lovely team members. I found the closet space to be adequate along with plenty of outlets in the room with excellent flat screen and Bluetooth speakers. The hotels location is very centralized so we were able to walk to hot spots such as the Time Out Market, Manteigaria, Chicago, the Pink Street, Barrio Alto, and Alfama. You can also get the iconic trolley photo right outside the hotel and take phenomenal pictures from the square. I will definitely book with them again when I return to Lisbon to explore more of the town and travel the north of Portugal. Thank you for making my stay so flawless. I truly felt like a princess!

Yelp
We recently stayed at Pousada de Lisboa for two nights. The location is perfect - it was an easy drive from the airport and is close to public transportation and many sights. Our car was handled promptly when we arrived (€28/day for parking with in/out availability). Check in was easy and pleasant. I has previously asked for a room with a view and we were given a first floor room facing the square with a partial water view. The room was very spacious and had more than enough storage space. The bed was fairly comfortable (a little hard). The bathroom was also spacious and the shower had good water pressure and hot water. The front desk staff were very nice and always ready to answer our questions. Wifi was perfect. We never made it to breakfast or the spa, so I can't comment on those. I would, however, recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Lisbon.

Yelp
Our family of ten had a wonderful stay at this 5 star luxury pousada, located in the heart of Lisbon with easy access to all the main sites and the ability to walk out the front door and take lovely strolls on the riverfront or cobbled streets. Newly renovated and tastefully decorated, the rooms are luxurious with king sized beds and comfortable pillows and linens. The gym/pool/sauna was a lovely way to start and end long days of running around a city with so much to do. Highly recommend the breakfast buffet with a broad selection of hot and cold items and fresh fruit and juices. We loved this hotel for so many reasons - but the number one reason was the staff. Before, during, and after our stay the excellent staff helped us plan our trip, organized an excellent guide (Cidalia) and driver, booked restaurants for our large group, took care of every need, request, and (a week after we left the hotel), helped us research how to have a painting in Coimbra crated and shipped to the US. Corneliu, Vanessa, Patricia, Bernardo, Joao, and all the others at Reception and throughout the hotel - thank you for a magical trip that every member of the Esteves family deeply appreciated and will always remember. We booked the Pousada for all the 5 star attributes it has to offer - but it was the the staff that stole our hearts left feeling like well cared for family. We didn't want to leave the Pousada and we can't wait to return.
