Book Your Summer Escape with MICHELIN Guide Hotels

"With 90 rooms and suites it’s no small affair. The classic rooms are swanky enough, and upgrades span the range all the way up to the river-view suites and the D. Perignon suite, which is over a hundred square meters of exactly what you’d expect the Perignon suite to be. Equally bubbly are the public spaces, the elegant restaurant and bar, and the extravagant ballroom, which might just make you wish you were here for more than just a hotel stay." - MICHELIN Guide

"The Pestana Hotel Group has a knack for turning historical properties into luxe hotels; the Pousada de Lisboa is no exception. Situated on Lisbon’s grandest square, the Praça do Comércio, the 90-room property inhabits the elegant former home of the Ministry of Internal Administration. Furnishings combine clean, modern lines with ornate wall moulding and a neutral color scheme dominated by pale greens and whites. Choose one of the mezzanine rooms for views of São Jorge Castle; the high-ceilinged Suite Praça do Comércio offers sweeping vistas of the square and River Tagus from two large windows. The hotel’s RIB Beef & Wine restaurant caters to the expense account crowd, specializing in premium cuts of meat aged for 14, 28, or 60 days and served with a regional touch: Lodosa piquillo peppers. There’s also an indoor pool lined with loungers, and a spa offering a full range of treatments, including a body scrub inspired by the scents of Madeira and the Algarve."

Pousada de Lisboa, Praça do Comércio (Lisbon, Portugal) 7 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"If you notice a certain repetition in naming, you’re not imagining things — the Pousadas de Portugal are a chain of sorts, created by the government as a way of showcasing the nation’s architectural history, but long since privatized. They’re all a bit different, but they tend to take a classic building, whether a rustic old farmhouse or a gorgeous baroque palace, and kit it out with the latest in luxe-hospitality accoutrements, so you can eat your cultural-history vegetables and enjoy your luxury-hotel dessert all at the same time. And in Pousada de Lisboa, Praça do Comércio, the pousadas have something of an urban flagship: right here in Lisbon’s Palace Square — Commerce Square, in a former government ministry building, you’ll find a hotel that’s worthy of its privileged position along the capital’s waterfront." - Tablet Hotels

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were absolutely wonderful — friendly, helpful, and always went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety to start the day right. Our room was very nice, spacious. The hotel is in an excellent position close to everything, which made it easy to get around.||The only small issue was that the bed was a bit too firm for us, but as soon as we mentioned it, the staff immediately added a mattress topper which made all the difference — such great service! We really appreciated how quickly and kindly they responded. Overall, an excellent experience and we’d definitely stay again!

Just back from a three night stay. The hotel is fantastically located, just 25 minutes by taxi from the airport. The receptionist and concierge were a delight and our room very comfortable. Breakfast was good with a nice selection. I used the little pool daily- it’s just off the gym in the 3rd floor and has a cool outside seating area accessed by a circular stair. Small and bijou is how I’d describe it. Housekeeping is excellent and attention to detail very good. The only thing I would improve is the staff in the bar/ restaurant who were certainly not up to the standard of others in the hotel. In fact I found them brusque and unfriendly. When you’re paying these prices you expect excellent service. The food, however, was good quality.

This is one of the best hotels in Lisbon. The location, state of the hotel, and it's vibes are all top notch. The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. We got the Presidential Suite and it was a beautiful suite that was the main office of the former president of Portugal. The art displays are tastefully adorned in amazing settings. The breakfast dining room was also nicely decorated with high ceiling/skylight. Overall we had a very nice experience here.

Hotel is clean and upscale, located in a great spot with excellent staff. We had a great 5 day visit and they booked several meals and excursions for us. Breakfast and bar staff were very attentive and the front desk staff anticipated our needs and found us great things to do during our first stay in Portugal, even securing us a last minute hair appt on what seemed to be the busiest time of the year in Lisbon. Room was nice, linens and towels were good, - AC was excellent, Bed was pretty hard but other than that pretty much everything was perfect.

It's a hotel where you feel like you are the only ones staying there. Quiet and understated bit to the highest standards and quality. Staff are attentive and discreet. Restaurant serves the best steak available in the world but affordable options too.|Rooms are quiet and fully equipped. Luxury toiletries, bathrobes, everything needed for a luxury stay and right in the heart of town.|Breakfast is the very best thing. We've stayed at hundreds of hotels and this is among the very best.

The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect! It's right in front of the Praça do Comércio and Arco da Rua Augusta so and close to the water and Alfama area. Everything is walkable and tons of options of food and shopping. The hotel itself is beautiful. You can tell it's an older building but the interiors are classy and luxurious. It's also very clean and quiet. I stayed in the loft like room and it was very spacious for one person. The bed was one of THE MOST comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in and it was so hard to get up in the morning. The bathroom was big and very clean. Shower pressure was great. ||The only negatives I have are:|1) the stairs in the loft room but it's my fault for choosing it. It was hard to get my suitcase up to the bedroom. If you're looking at that room and not strong enough to get some luggage up a flight of stairs, consider getting a different room. ||2) The mini fridge could have been a bit bigger. Could not fit the bottle of wine I got for my last night. ||3) When using the iron, it left some kind of sticky dark stain on one of my shirts that I am having a hard time removing. Please considering checking the bottom of the irons before lending them to guests. Aside from these things, the stay was great.||Will definitely be suggesting this to friends who visit Lisboa.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our tour round Portugal and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is superbly located, the staff are exellent and it is as well-appointed as you'd expect a small 5 star hotel to be. There is comfortable guest lounge with free tea and sparkling wine. However, our room was not generous by any means and quite dark, despite the fact that I paid for an upgrade. I know Lisbon is expensive, but I simply felt that it was not value for money

Google
Perfect location with very friendly and helpful staff. We liked this hotel but have spme minor complaints. One afternoon our room hadn’t been serviced at 3.30 even though the make up room sign had been out since about 9am. We came back to our room tired after a tour and requested the room be serviced as soon as possible. It took an hour which is not acceptable in a 5 star hotel. We sat in the lounge and waited but the music in there is too loud. The screen in the shower is far too narrow, impossible to shower without getting water all over the floor. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Yelp
Stayed here 1 night end of April 2023, after checking out our 3 night stay at Hyatt Regency Lisbon. ** Pro Tip: Look for Rib Beef and Wine Restaurant as they are in the same building! The location is very central but the hotel was kinda hidden in a way because the hotel signage was quite small. We walked by many times but still confused with Google Map :) Since it was in the heart of Lisbon, the price was quite high. It was close to 400eu Sunday night and IMO on the pricey side for the size of the room given. There were some nice touches that we loved about this hotel. A little spoiler in the photos. The breakfast buffet was excellent and staff friendly.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time at Pousada de Lisboa, Praça do Comércio! The location is right across from a beautiful square, and the water. I feel like it's central to everything: shopping, eating, and you can Uber or taxi anywhere in the city. It was incredibly clean, I felt like the rooms are large, especially by European standards. And the service was on point from check-in all the way through to our check out. They have a great restaurant for steak onsite. I'd stay here again if I come back to Lisbon.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow.. I don't know where to begin. We are on our third day here at Pousada de Lisboa, which we booked through our travel agent at Spain Top. From the moment we entered our hotel we have been blown away by the impeccable service, central location, and wonderful amenities. We arrived early around 1pm and both of our rooms were ready. The receptionist staff was OUTSTANDING: They greeted us as if they'd been expecting us and made check-in an absolute breeze. They helped us plan out our day, which turned out to be fabulous. Both receptionists were beyond kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious and in such a lovely setting. This afternoon we came back to the hotel for a rest and enjoyed delicious, complimentary tea service. After a siesta, I realized I had lost my sunglasses. I went downstairs to ask the receptionist and low and behold they had my sunglasses which housekeeping had found in the hallway and graciously returned. Also when I went to acquire an additional key, the receptionist didn't need my room number or name because he already knew them.. This is the definition of a FIVE STAR hotel. I'm extremely selective and let me just say that this hotel has surpassed my expectations. If we return to Lisbon this is where we'll be staying!! And by the way, the location cannot be beat! A+ hotel :)

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It is phenomenal. From the decor, to the food, to the wonderful service this place is a winner. The concierge and team were helpful for all things associated with my trip to Lisbon prior to my arrival. The corresponded politely and quickly via email for every need. Without skipping a beat I received a free upgrade, taxi service, recommendations and reservations for dining, stellar breakfast, and even a lovely to go bespoke breakfast package before my early flight. Even sweeter, I had a surprise pastry tray in my room waiting after a day of exploring due to a longer check in process. Every member of the staff is eager to please and so proud to do what they do. Overall, the beds sleep well. The facilities are all top notch and there isn't a shortage of places to sit, or experiences to have within the hotel or by the arrangement of one of their lovely team members. I found the closet space to be adequate along with plenty of outlets in the room with excellent flat screen and Bluetooth speakers. The hotels location is very centralized so we were able to walk to hot spots such as the Time Out Market, Manteigaria, Chicago, the Pink Street, Barrio Alto, and Alfama. You can also get the iconic trolley photo right outside the hotel and take phenomenal pictures from the square. I will definitely book with them again when I return to Lisbon to explore more of the town and travel the north of Portugal. Thank you for making my stay so flawless. I truly felt like a princess!

Yelp
We recently stayed at Pousada de Lisboa for two nights. The location is perfect - it was an easy drive from the airport and is close to public transportation and many sights. Our car was handled promptly when we arrived (€28/day for parking with in/out availability). Check in was easy and pleasant. I has previously asked for a room with a view and we were given a first floor room facing the square with a partial water view. The room was very spacious and had more than enough storage space. The bed was fairly comfortable (a little hard). The bathroom was also spacious and the shower had good water pressure and hot water. The front desk staff were very nice and always ready to answer our questions. Wifi was perfect. We never made it to breakfast or the spa, so I can't comment on those. I would, however, recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Lisbon.

Yelp
Best location and best staff!!!!! They were all very helpful and super nice. Gave great referrals and literally the best latte i have ever had at their breakfast setup. So nice and clean and the rooms are amazing. Makes me miss Lisboa! The staff is the greatest!!!!

Yelp
Our family of ten had a wonderful stay at this 5 star luxury pousada, located in the heart of Lisbon with easy access to all the main sites and the ability to walk out the front door and take lovely strolls on the riverfront or cobbled streets. Newly renovated and tastefully decorated, the rooms are luxurious with king sized beds and comfortable pillows and linens. The gym/pool/sauna was a lovely way to start and end long days of running around a city with so much to do. Highly recommend the breakfast buffet with a broad selection of hot and cold items and fresh fruit and juices. We loved this hotel for so many reasons - but the number one reason was the staff. Before, during, and after our stay the excellent staff helped us plan our trip, organized an excellent guide (Cidalia) and driver, booked restaurants for our large group, took care of every need, request, and (a week after we left the hotel), helped us research how to have a painting in Coimbra crated and shipped to the US. Corneliu, Vanessa, Patricia, Bernardo, Joao, and all the others at Reception and throughout the hotel - thank you for a magical trip that every member of the Esteves family deeply appreciated and will always remember. We booked the Pousada for all the 5 star attributes it has to offer - but it was the the staff that stole our hearts left feeling like well cared for family. We didn't want to leave the Pousada and we can't wait to return.
