Great find! Most items are traditional French or Senegalese items, but basics like fish and chips offer options for picky eaters. Prices are incredibly reasonable, including the wine list. Martinis are delicious, more so at 2 for $12. Service is attentive but not overbearing. Friendly servers aren't too hurried to explain unfamiliar menu items. Dining room is crowded.

This is our favorite restaurant in NYC! Amazing French/North African menu with a broad range of unique, delicious options. Service is great and they have a great 2 for 1 special on martinis. They also have a live jazz band once a week which just adds to the great atmosphere. You might not notice Ponty if you were just walking down the street, but this is a NYC GEM and a must-visit for anyone Downtown!

The quality of food is high, the cooking technique superb and the unique spices and flavors outstanding! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in the LES.You can taste the love and sincerity that goes into the food. The ambiance is low key, the place clean and not loud. There is a constant flow of people throughout the night, small groups, couples, which is a good sign…

Awesome! Even my 1 year old grandson enjoyed everything especially the truffle Mac and cheese and the calamari! Customer service was awesome. I had the seafood risotto my daugters had the lamb and steak dishes everyone enjoyed. We will come back again!

Quaint neighborhood spot that serves up a mix of Senegalese, French, and Mediterranean plates. I was craving pasta, so I got their penne with chicken. The pasta was moist, flavorful, and prepared with a minimum of fuss. I was not disappointed, thankfully. Our group polished off a few bottles of wine (and how), so I'm not exactly sure how long it took for our food to get to our table. Either way, service was tops, and we weren't rushed at all (and the place was packed). I will return to try their Senegalese and French dishes.

Celebrated my 30th birthday here over the weekend. It was a surprise dinner for me, but both my guests and myself truly enjoyed ourselves. We were a party of 16 and the staff was very attentive to our needs. We started off w several rounds of appetizers for the group. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers, as well as heir main courses. I am extremely satisfied with the friendly service and amazing food. We were very well accommodated. I can't wait to return for a casual night of food and drinks very soon!

We came here thanks to a Travelzoo deal and had an excellent lunch! Ponty Bistro has some pretty unique offerings like octopus and escargot, and this is definitely the kind of place where you should consider deviating from your food comfort zone. Everything we got was delicious, service was fast and friendly, and we will definitely be returning again!

Eclectic & different. French trained African chef blends the best if both worlds. Unique & delicious. Extra bonus 2 for $12 martinis made with fresh ingredients... Try the ginger martini made with a splash of pineapple and a touch of African spices - AWESOME
