Polo Fried Chicken (Soi Polo)

The restaurant is clean and air-conditioned. The staff is friendly and helpful. Food is served quickly—the fried chicken has an incredibly crispy skin with plenty of fried garlic, pairing perfectly with sticky rice and dipping sauce. The fish cake is also worth trying, though slightly greasy. Prices are reasonable. Definitely worth experiencing!

Landed in Bangkok and went straight to Polo Chicken for breakfast because the crispy fried shallot in the photos looked too good to resist Ordered the fried chicken 🍗 & papaya salad 🥗 The chicken isn’t the extra crispy kind, but more of a comforting homemade-style fried chicken. The seasoning is just right—not too strong—but the crispy shallot on top? So good and addictive 🧄 The papaya salad was super tangy! 🥵 If you have sensitive stomach, be careful. But it was super fresh and a nice balance to the meal One thing to note: cash only 💵 So make sure to bring some baht!

Nice fried chicken. The fried chicken comes with fried garlic which is really really tasty. I also ordered the fried fish. It was nice too. And lastly, I ordered the pro spicy soup, which was basically Tom yum soup. But it was really spicy. All in all, the food was good and the food is served really fast. You do not have to wait or queue.

If you're in Bangkok, Polo Fried Chicken is a must-visit. The hype and rave reviews are absolutely justified. The chicken is fried to a golden-brown perfection, with a crunchy coating that's elevated by what seems to be fried garlic and shallots—simply irresistible. Their Chiang Mai sausage is a flavor bomb, packed with bold notes of ginger and lemongrass that leave a lasting impression. To round it off, the corn salad is a perfect balance of sweetness and tang, providing a refreshing contrast to the richness of the meal. Every bite is a testament to why this spot is so highly rated.

The chicken is incredible. I understand it has fried garlic on it. It's fantastic. I loved the king oyster mushroom larb which you can see in the photo. It was great, had fiber, and I loved the flavor. The pork soup (see photo) is very spicy and very sour. It is too spicy for me (although I did eat some, and the heat went away quickly), and I want a little more vegetable, but it is a unique experience for me when visiting Thailand. The papaya salads have a little too much sugar for me, and are sweet. They have good fiber which I like, but I'd prefer something which doesn't have sugar in it. Or ya know, maybe sometime I get it. It's good. The dried shrimp and egg papaya salad (see photo) seemed like a good choice.

I was expecting a crispy fried chicken. When I got there at about 9am it was quiet. I asked for the chicken and the lady showed me the cooked chicken in a big metal bowl I wasn’t sure if it was fresh. It wasn’t appetizing to me but still I bought some and a som tum for takeaway. I ate the thigh part first and it’s delicious as well as the som tum but when I was about to eat the part where the chicken organs are located, it was stinky and disgusting! I had to throw them.

Maybe the best friend chicken in bangkok!!! Try the pork soup also (bassicaly tom yum) but very spicy but still good and refreshing for those who like spicy food. I recommend the fried fish cake also,it come with 4 pieces each pieces is very big and so soft,very comforting to eat.

Not too sure what a restaurant requires to be awarded as Michelin rated, but this restaurant isn't anything extraordinary. Food was below average. Crispy chicken was dry, chewy in some parts and tasteless. Papaya salad was drenched in a soup of overly sweet sauce. Fisch cakes tasted more like spongy tofu, tasteless and nowhere near being anything of a fishcake. Even the condiment chilli sauces tasted like it was shop bought and not homemade. Service was slow, food came out one dish at a time and very delayed after one another. Restaurant acoustics also very bad, was incredibly loud inside, we could hardly hear each other speak so we dined in silence mostly. Overall experience was very disappointing. The higher ratings were very deceiving because our food didn't come close to be great. Won't recommend this place at all! Far better places to go to in Bangkok.
