"Rockier than other local beaches and fortified by picturesque cliffs, Point Dume is ideal for exploring, not just laying out. There’s a hiking trail for taking in the scenery, plus it goes up the bluffs to an overlook spot at the very top of Point Dume for panoramic views of the Santa Monica Bay and a good chunk of the Malibu coast. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch a glimpse of the migrating grey whales in winter. There's also plenty of swimming, scuba diving, and surfing here if watersports are your thing. "

I visited this area many years ago and although a lot has changed in Malibu, I love this park. The park is very well preserved and maintained and the views are stunning. The only issue is the parking is very limited and I am not sure how well others follow the two hour parking time limit but since there were two of us we were able to takes turns and not use the on-site parking. I highly recommend and recommend going early to beat the crowd😁

What a great experience.I went there thinking small it ended up being big. I got some great pictures of the surfers.Be prepared to walk down and up a lot of stairs. After that I took the little hike. And got to see a bunch of seals. That was a surprise. Then Just on the other side was a public beach. It was really nice.I was able to sit on the cliff and just people watch for a little.

Point Dume is an absolutely breathtaking spot to watch the sunset, with dramatic cliffs, endless ocean views, and the golden sun melting into the horizon. The sky lit up with beautiful colors, the waves crashed gently against the rocks below, and the whole scene felt peaceful and surreal. It’s a perfect place to relax, take in nature’s beauty, and end the day on a magical note.

Such a peaceful place to hike and enjoy the beauty of nature. It’s a very easy hike, with some paved trails. The best time to visit is in the morning to avoid the crowds. There’s paid parking available, or you can find free parking along the sidewalk if you don’t mind walking a bit.

Point Dume is a must-visit spot in Malibu! The scenic hike offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot dolphins or whales. The cliffs and sandy beach make it a perfect place to relax, take photos, or enjoy a peaceful sunset. The trail is short but can be a bit steep in some areas, so wear good shoes. Parking is limited, so arriving early is a good idea. Overall, an amazing place for nature lovers and beachgoers!

Fantastic view point, epic when you look from the top, no ticket required, however parking is extremely frustrated, just a few lots line up along the street, wait in line till your turn or you have to park somewhere and walk back a mile.
