"A smoky, chilly working class joint," Tony describes of this restaurant. "A golden pancake, heaped with chicken livers, and covered, nay, drowned, with a rich, deeply satisfying sauce with bone marrow." He also tried the venison stew and the HUGE schnitzel this place is famous for. A little out of the way from the centre of town, this place is worth the trip! We came here for their massive sertéskaraj rántva, huge pork cutlet and it was beyond massive. Weighing in at almost a kilo, it was more than enough for two people. It was piping hot, fresh, and must be eaten with a pickled paprika on the side. Don't let the looks deceive you. The place looks run down, but it has history and character. Food is not the best but worth a try. The schnitzel is insanely big (comically big) I would recommend a try 😊

Shout out Anthony Bourdain for the recommendation, this was worth the trek out of town! Ordered the chicken schnitzel and chips and 2 pickles to share with my partner and it was far more than enough food, could’ve fed a family of 4 from the size of it. Excellent price for the portion size compared to closer to town joints. I’m very happy with my experience 👏

It’s not fine dining, but it’s not meant to be! Big ol’ giant schnitzel. Very delicious and good price. Get the sauce for dipping too, takes it to a new level. Feeds 3-4 people easy. I wanted to try more dishes but we couldn’t even finish this one dish.

Go there only if You have not eaten for weeks. The portions are impossible, and You will end up paying for the szegyenzacsko ("shame bag" for takeaway food) - The rantotthus is crispy, salty and wet in the corners. Just how it is supposed to be. - The sour vegetables and onions are on spot, really tasty. - I have seen a Cordon Blue as a size of a basketball.

Traditional Hungarian fried food. The best fried chicken, pork, gordon bleu IN THE WORLD. But the portion is huge but AMAZING TASTY.

A solid three stars. Like many, I went because Bourdain went, and like many other reviewers, not much more can be said other than it's a small local joint, and the portions are massive. Overall it's nice and fried and crispy (the schnitzel), but kind of mediocre for fried chicken. The chips were also alright, maybe a lil sus. I would recommend getting a pickle or something with it. They no longer have the liver and venison pancake. They take card.

Huuge portions for hungry customers. If you like to enjoy enormous portions, this is a place you will love. From the dishes we tried the wiener schnitzel was the best, which was bigger than the plate! They have also dessert option, the so called 'máglyárakás', we took it home, and it was fantastic! Worth to have a try!
