"Return to the Past in the Town Squares Puerto Rican plazas are laid-back gathering spaces where locals buy snacks, watch shows, play dominoes, and chat with friends. Take a seat on a bench to give your feet a break and soak up some of the everyday comings and goings. At the Plaza de Armas in San Juan, buy the kids traditional treats like sesame-seed lollipops or coconut candies and check out the fountain with the four statues symbolizing the seasons. The Plaza las Delicias in Ponce is made up of two squares divided by a cathedral—one has a statue of journalist and governor Luis Muñoz Marín, while the other is home to the Lions Fountain from the 1939 World Fair."

A charming and historic plaza in the heart of Old San Juan. Perfect for relaxing, people-watching, or enjoying a coffee from a nearby café. The surrounding colonial architecture and statues add to its charm, making it a great spot to soak in the local culture. A must-visit while exploring the city!

This is an amazing Placita, especially during the Christmas holidays. There’s lots to do in this area so parking near here or getting dropped off here works great. There’s plenty of food, events as well as craft shows to visit. Big time saver - if you’re ubering and you arrive at the major intersection as soon as you enter the city section of Old San Juan and there’s massive traffic, get out early and just walk. It’s super safe and the plaza is not far.

Every time I visit the side of the island I enjoy coming to the plaza, especially in the evening. There’s usually live music and people roaming about the square. The plaza is beautiful in the evening when it’s all lit up, it’s typically filled with couples, families and adventure seekers! There are plenty of restaurants, bars, sweet treats and there’s even a hookah bar around the plaza.; The Plaza offers a variety of things. I highly recommend visiting the plaza when you’re in town there’s a parking garage nearby relatively inexpensive. I believe I paid under seven dollars for three hours of parking time. -Ciao and Happy Traveling! 🌺

We walked through this plaza en route to the pharmacy and it was just delightful. There were people all around and it was still decorated for Christmas when we visited in early January. When we have visited in the past, I remember musicians playing here as well.

We had a 2pm tour with Des and when I tell you, you will be in great hands you WILL be in great hands. She knows not only the history and so many small details but she's funny, personal and sweet! Great recommendations to an amazing restaurant after and little secret places to get souvenirs and great ice cream. Wish we were able to tip her but we had to split and we don't carry cash. The staff in the center were also super nice as I called them about 4 times for different questions. Each time they were very sweet and helpful. Just all around amazing 👏

The Plaza de Armas of San Juan is one of the main squares in San Juan, which was designed to serve as the original main square for the city. it dates back to Spanish colonial times, One side of the plaza, you'll find San Juan's official town hall building, and on another the Puerto Rico Department of State. like any famous square, street performances, local food stalls, everything is here. To better enjoy the Plaza de Armas, grab a coffee and a Puerto Rican pastry from any of the local spots and grab a sit in any of the public benches. also, you won't find wendy in the new avatar anywhere else.

All the plazas in Old San Juan have their own flare. The photos I shared here are from La Fiesta de La Calle San Sebastian 2019 where there were multiple phenomenal live bands all day and evening! Discover Puerto Rico, it's definitely a beautiful wonderful magical place to experience! The people, the culture, and the general vibe is warm, friendly, and fun-loving!
