This place is a bit of a problem to find, and it's in one of the more "colorful" areas of Shibuya. Depending on when you come across this review, you'll have to scoot past several under construction skyscraper complexes. It honestly feels like, in a couple years, this is gonna kinda feel like Cyberpunk or Blade Runner, where you have 75-story buildings blocking out the sun, and then on the ground floor, you'll have graffiti-marked areas like this that are hanging on by servicing the rank-and-file.
But, on to the main attraction, the food. Pizza here was good. This definitely wasn't like NY style pizza, but it could be NY Style Pizza - Japan Remix. When I've had NY style pizza in the US, and NY in particular, one of the defining characteristics of the pizza is that it can't hold up under its own weight. It becomes floppy, and you gotta fold it.
Pizza Slice gets the size right, the amount of toppings right, and the thin crust right. But, the crust is too crispy. We had a kid with us, and she was able to fold the crust with one hand and chow down without having to do that thing where they're chasing the tip of the slice with their mouth and getting dripping grease on their face. If it's easy enough for a kid to master instantly, that's not the NY style I know.
Aside from the Italian sausage (in Japan, any time you see Italian Sausage or even Chorizo, it's gonna look like small orbs that would be at home in a bag of kibble) all the pizza slices I had were fine. Meatball was seasoned with a sweet & tangy sauce, my friends enjoyed the Eggplant & Mushroom special, and the Jalapeno.
We were here for dinner so, pizza had risen to 500-600 yen per slice, and if you're going to drink here, I recommend getting a beer. I got a rum & coke for 600 yen, and I just chugged that thing like a regular Coke. All in all, a pretty good spot, and if NY Style Pizza - Japan Remix becomes a common form of pizza, I ain't gonna be mad.
