Pizarro is a chic Spanish eatery in Bermondsey serving up irresistible tapas and comforting classics in a cozy, inviting atmosphere.
"Feeding £29 jamón ibérico to your dog under the table does make you the world’s greatest dog parent. Maybe they’ll even forget that you had the audacity to not let them sniff every single lamppost in the two-mile surrounding area. Either way, you’ll both have a lovely time at Pizarro in London Bridge. A classic Spanish restaurant with everything from croquetas to cuttlefish on the menu, it’s a great little place to try a few dishes with a nice bottle of wine. "All the José Pizarro restaurants - here, Broadgate Circus, Escher, and the tapas spot further along Bermondsey Street - are extending EOTHO throughout September. Head over for croquetas, jamón, and other Spanish specialities." - oliver feldman, rianne shlebak
"José Pizarro has a refreshingly simple way of naming his establishments: after José, his tapas bar, came Pizarro, a larger restaurant a few doors down. A selection of small plates – like croquetas, boquerones and padrón peppers – are joined by larger main courses including presa Ibérica, with dishes proving to be satisfying and cleanly executed. The surroundings are stylish and an all-Spanish wine list boasts some big names." - Michelin Inspector
"Bermondsey is the land of great nibbles. There are many options in the area for small plates, tapas, and satisfying snacks but nowhere does it quite like Pizarro. One of the best Spanish restaurants in London, the dining room looks like the kind of Andalucian Airbnb you instantly bookmark and the dishes are impressive enough for a date night here to feel like a power move. Our game plan would be to stick to the ‘pica pica’ portion of the menu so you can get involved in the jamón ibérico, croquetas del dia, and garlic-party pickled anchovies. " - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Daisy Meager
"Jose Pizarro has two restaurants in Bermondsey that are really worth going south of the river for: Pizarro, which is a sit down Spanish restaurant, and Jose, a tapas bar just up the street. You will find Jose himself in either kitchen on any given night and his dedication shows. The food is really excellent, with a thoughtful wine and sherry list to match. Pizarro in particular, occupies a really warm, welcoming room with a partially open kitchen, making it great for a date or a night out with friends."
