Ping Pong

This place would be much nicer, if it wasn't for the surly, older gentleman who runs the place. The young staff are nice enough, but old mate makes it feel like everything is a problem, and he's always having the worst day of his life. The food is OK, although probably not a whole lot better than your local neighbourhood Thai place, for a great $ amount more. The whole 'ping pong/love you long time' shtick is a bit on the nose in this day and age too. Racist boomers probably think it's funny, I guess.

Recommended by a friend as a good Asian food option in the Gasworks plaza. Ping Pong overlooks the Gasometer park, with the option of outside seating under a deep awning, or indoors and airconditioned. Friendly and efficient service, nice food that arrives promptly so good for a lunch stop. Various individual or shared menu options, specials board and wine list. We walked here, though off street parking is available from Skyring Terrace, or City BUZ bus stop around the corner.

Staff need to be more clear about charging for water, they offered us still or sparkling water without informing us of any charge. Once we got the bill we noticed a $4 per glass charge for cold tap water? The food was really delicious and very filling and the staff were nice as well. Overall it's a nice place to try for something new.

I came with a friend to eat and take photos. The place is very pretty, as shown in the photos. The problem is the price and quality of the food and the service. I took the puree of Strawberry basil sea salt. the taste was infamous. I had bits of salt in my teeth and the puree tasted nothing like fruit. very disappointed with this experience. You can come and take beautiful photos but I don't expect good quality. No waiter came to ask me what was wrong when I had hardly eaten anything. Very disappointed with this experience

Had an amazing birthday night at Ping Pong, highly recommended, best service, good food, good drinks. I love the atmosphere. Will be back soon .

We had a fantastic experience at Ping Pong! The atmosphere instantly lifts your mood, making you forget the hustle of daily life. The food was delicious , and the service was also excellent – special thanks to Belle for making it even better!

Lovely lunch in a beautiful setting. Wonderful staff. Loved every dish, excellent flavours. Will be back to try more options from the menu soon.

This place is a great take on modern Thai! Love the atmosphere and service was great. The food service is on time and as you like and so prompt! The only problem I had was the pork was a little chewy bit otherwise fantastic!
