"Quiet and romantic, Piermont is an ideal getaway for those in search of rural respite in one of Tasmania’s more isolated stretches. Sexy stone-and-wood cottages, all with kitchens, laundry facilities, and fireplaces, make holing up easy, but many choose to surface for dinner at Homestead Restaurant, which features a primarily organic menu dominated by locally sourced vegetables, meat, and seafood (sesame-roasted quail; yellowtail kingfish ceviche). And while the overall vibe is relaxed, there are plenty of amenities for guests who want to do more than cozy up indoors, including a swimming pool, kayaks, bicycles, and a tennis court. (Though some polo ponies call the property home, horseback riding isn’t available.) The staff can also arrange for immersive experiences—complete with a packed picnic lunch—from whale watching on nearby Friendly Beaches to hiking Hazard Mountain passes in Freycinet National Park."

My partner and I stayed at Piermont for a 3-day weekend and it was idyllic. The Retreat is in a beautiful location and is lovely and private. The cottages are straight out of a storybook and in excellent condition with everything you would need. All of the staff are friendly and down-to-earth and care to make sure you enjoy your stay. The food and wine were outstanding as well. Well located on the east coast. An absolute must!

We travelled to Peirmont with family for our son's wedding on site. The Retreat exceeded our expectations. The cottages, the food, the service were all 10 out of 10. We stayed 2 nights and were thoroughly impressed. Cannot recommend this venue enough for either a romantic getaway or an intimate wedding which we had, just truly special and memories forever.

The region, while stunningly beautiful, can be a little hit and miss when it comes to quality accommodation and dining. Piermont, however, truly delivers. You can feel the passion, dedication, and hard work that has gone into creating this property. We loved the unique blend of wilderness and luxury, with the bushland setting adding to its charm. When staying you must make a booking to their onsite restaurant!

Beautiful location with scenic views. The retreat is beautifully landscaped and has a private beach if you are wanting to have a walk. Words cannot describe how stunning this part of the world is. Staff were very helpful and provided a great experience. Cannot recommend enough.

This was our second visit and it was just as good as the first! This time we took another couple with us who were just as impressed. As the restaurant was closed for the month (hence the discounted prices) we ate in our two-bedroom cottage and enjoyed the log burner.|We walked all around the property and loved the varied landscapes and views. All of the reception staff we encountered were, once again, friendly and very helpful. A lovely place to stay!

Our experience at Piermont was as always, exquisite. The accommodations quaint, peaceful & embedded in nature. It’s private, idyllic, restorative for the soul & makes me want to return again & again. The activities on offer are gentle & accompany the chilled relaxed vibe well. The staff go beyond to make sure your booking is nothing short of perfection. My husband and I will always return to Piermont, it’s got a special place in our heart and we feel lucky to stay there. Thankyou for an incredible experience as always !

I’ve stayed at Piermont a few times now and it never fails to work its magic. There’s just something about the setting — that quiet stretch of coastline, the cottages nestled into the dunes — it feels worlds away. On our most recent visit, my partner and I brought his mum who was visiting from the US, and we stayed in one of the two-bedroom stone cottages. It was absolutely beautiful. The fireplace kept us cosy, and we spent slow mornings just soaking in the atmosphere. There’s so much to do right on site — I even took one of the kayaks out and went fishing in the bay! The restaurant is excellent, and the whole place is run with such warmth and care. The team make you feel like you’re right at the heart of it all. Piermont is a truly special place. We can’t recommend it enough.

To be honest, my impressions are mixed. On the one hand, it’s a nice, cozy house with a beautiful view. On the other hand, the hospitality of the hosts was really lacking. We arrived late due to the weather, and since the nearest restaurant is a 10-minute drive away, they were already closed. It would have been nice to find at least something simple for breakfast in the house — even a croissant. P.S. The house costs $700 per night. P.P.S. Along with the keys, we were given a tiny bag of gummies….
