As a couple visiting Lisbon we attended the Palace to experience a quiet and delicious brunch. It is not easy to find a place where you can enjoy your meal quietly in a city full of tourists. We also had the opportunity to take a look at the gorgeous rooms, where you can appreciate the view over the bridge/river. As the name suggests, it's a Palace! If you like historic buildings, that's a place to go. A special mention for the sympathy of Catarina and Gonçalo who received and served us a great brunch! For sure, a place to return next time we visit Lisbon.

Beautiful property. Service is five stars. Great pools and gym and wonderful morning breakfast buffet. Would absolutely recommend. Far from the old city—we took an uber — but there are places to walk to to eat and shop nearby. We would return!

We went after a meal, with our friends who have a history in this place. Magnificent building and extremely serene atmosphere. Amazing how it's possible to just get a drink in one of the many stylish salons. Stroll through them, to admire the design in different themes.

Although the main building is beautiful, the buildings where the rooms are located are in serious need of upgrading and refurbishing. The hotel is situated under the flight path, so expect to be woken up at 6am, and it is often difficult to hold a conversation due to constant planes overhead. Service, particularly at the restaurant needs improvement, both in quality and timeliness.

I highly recommend you do not stay here. I have traveled to 30 plus countries, and this takes the cake for the worst hotel room I have stayed in. Anyone who rates this hotel highly is evidently doing so solely because it is a historic palace. But the actual hotel rooms are literal trash. The air conditioning was not working in the room, and the hotel staff continuously failed to give any real answer to whether it was fixed but instead informed us to go back to the room and see if it was fixed or not. We did not sleep AT ALL for an entire night in scorching heat in the room, and when I finally called at 6am to say something has to be wrong, the front desk told us maintenance wasn’t there till 8am so we’d have to wait and see. We slept half a day away on our tour bus the following day because we were so exhausted. When we returned to the room after a long day, that was when we were told to go check ourselves if the air was fixed or not in the room. Supposedly, there was a “coolant issue,” but when we got back to the room, the entire air conditioning panel in the room was very clearly altered. We decided to patiently wait for the air to cool the room, and went for dinner, to only return back to a SCORCHING hot room to be told the hotel actually had ZERO CLUE whether the air was ever fixed from the beginning. They finally offered to change our rooms at 10pm at night, upon which we had to pack up our stuff and move rooms. My mother had hip surgery and is walking with a cane, and we had to, in the pitch black, walk to a new room down cobble stone paths. The security in the hotel seems to be entirely nonexistent at night to stop random people from coming into the palace, meanwhile the rooms we were in were both on the first floor with glass doors and easy access from the outside. (I have videos of walking into the hotel past 10pm with no one to be found anywhere near the front gate entrances verifying who was walking into the hotel). The breakfast was terrible - literally uncooked eggs and everything that should have been hot was frigid cold. The servers at the breakfast were useless - it was impossible to get water and coffee (and there was literally no one else in there when we got there as we got there right when it opened at 7am). Generally, the hotel is also just completely out of the city center and in a quiet residential neighborhood. Strangely, the entire hotel grounds smell like skunk or polecat throughout the night and into the early morning (which doesn’t let you open your balcony doors at all it is so appalling).
