Not kidding when I say: best cookies in Reading Terminal (beating out 4th St Cookies) and my own personal favorite throughout the city (no BS). Baked to perfection: FRESH everyday SOFT, moist, and CHEWY! 5* easy. Don't believe me? This is an amazing general store with a big variety for a small space. So happy to stumble into it. They have chocolates, cheese, breads, teas, coffees, souvenirs, kitchen ware, drink fridge, glassware, gift baskets, honeys, jams, fruit butter, I was constantly amazed by how much they had. All the food is locally made and sourced which is always amazing to hear. I left with more than I dreamed of when I first walked by.

Very disappointing, i ordered a bagel and a muffin. THEY WERE SO HARD I COULD HAVE KILLES SOMEONE WITH THOSE. I went and ask if they had something more fresh because sadly those were really hard and the owner told me those were fresh is just the way it is. And she took it back and did not refund me any money or try to give me something else. Honestly i would not recommend this to anybody, the shop is cute and has nice things but dont order food!

A great shopping experience with cool, local goodies. However, I wouldn’t recommend the baked goods they sell from the metropolitan bakery. Day old at best, and with that and that alone, I’d give this place 4 stars. It’s the rotten attitude of the staff that merits the 1 single star ⭐️

I worked with Ellen on a large order for a corporate event. I ordered 100 of the Paul Carpenter LOVE t-shirts for my team. Ellen gave me an ordering deadline for the t-shirts and worked with me as I had a few changes before the final day. She even arranged to have the t-shirts dropped off at a local Philly hotel the day before the meeting. The delivery charge was nominal and much less than I would’ve paid for shipping. The t-shirts were butter soft and were a huge hit with my team. It was important for me to work with local vendors since I was having my meeting in Philadelphia. The PA General Store is a great resource for all things Philly and the customer service is exceptional!

I love the PA General store! They have a great selection and their value is outstanding. We have ordered from other stores for gift baskets previously but no longer. Their products are consistently better and I love that they are a real family business in PA and not some corporate machine that does not care about their customers. If you love yummy goodies and supporting small businesses, order from them, you won’t go wrong! We are buying cookie tins from them for all our clients.

I found the company on line. I needed help placing an order for my kids who relocated to California. Spoke to Asheley Williams to help place the order. She was an absolute delight! She offered helpful suggestions to insure the packages arrived on time and in good shape. They did and all that was left was the fur ball that was Christmas morning as the kid fought over who got the butter scotch krimpets! What a refreshing change to get actual service from customer service. I will not hesitate to buy from this company again, but next time just for me. :)
