Google
wonderful indie cinema. kept clean, rarely busy, and staff are lovely. tickets as cheap as it gets in london. no complaints, just keep in mind there are 20 minutes of ads before the films start.

I’ve always loved this place, especially when ticket prices were just £5, making it incredibly accessible and relevant to the local community. It really catered to the people in the area, and it felt like a cinema that understood its audience. I’ve always enjoyed the range of food available, and the nachos, in particular, were a standout for me. However, since the prices have increased, it’s become a bit less appealing, especially when compared to other cinemas that offer enticing deals like buy one get one free and discounted ticket promotions. I can’t help but wonder how these changes will affect the cinema in the long run, as it faces more competition. Despite these changes, this cinema remains a staple in the community, and I truly hope it continues to thrive. It has so much potential, and I really wish the best for it moving forward, as it’s been such a valued part of the local experience.

Google
cheap tickets, and old school no seat reservation style movie theater. it was great

Google
The place itself is quite nice. The cinema room was clean and mainly the toilets were clean and neat. All the staff members were nice. The reason I gave 4 stars is that the movie took very long before starting. We were watching only adds for 23min straight that was so boring before the movie itself started. It was not ideal for children as they started getting tired and bored which made them more sleepy when the movie itself started. Even adults were already bored before the movie started. Few adds is understandable but watching so many adds for 23min was not ideal.

Google
Great cinema for community. Before we went, I was afraid to be disappointed after reviewing the comment here. Nonetheless, I can see now that those negative reviews are pretty outdated. The cinema keeps the vintage feature and is cleaner. The staff are nice and friendly. Would definitely come back. The screen is small , so the room but it doesn't affect anything as the sounds system is decent.

This is an outstanding cinema that truly enhances the movie-going experience. Though this was my first visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming atmosphere and the affordability of tickets, which is a refreshing change from many other cinemas in London. The screen was large and well-maintained, providing a great view from any seat. I appreciated the range of films available, including both blockbusters and independent features. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Google
The Peckhamplex is the place to go for cheap cinema in London. Tickets can be bought online in advance for as low as £7.00. Not sure how much they are at the cinema itself. The cinema has a comforting feel, and is in the center of Peckham near Peckham rye station. Snacks and drinks (including alcoholic) are available to purchase. Coming to the cinema here is a great night out in London for under £20.00!

The carpet needs a good clean and new seats, it's beyond cleaning. Great screening for the local people and reasonable prices

Yelp
I mean, 5 pounds. What else do you need to know really? Only thing I can say is wrong with it, is that it's not local to me :(

James A.

Yelp
£4.99 a movie. How could this not be 5 stars!? Even if the staff were dicks (which they aren't) I'd give it five stars. Even if the movie theatre was dirty (which it isn't) I'd give it five stars. Snacks are standard, so no complaints on that front. If is just an overall good bargain and I recommend it to all those who live in South East London as an alternative to any Odeon or Vue.

Bec K.

Yelp
Not bad for £4.99 a ticket. I mean the staff aren't really friendly, and you can tell they probably hate their jobs, but for the money I didn't expect too much. It's on par with some of the Odeon cinemas I've been to. The chairs are comfortable enough, and the experience isn't unpleasant at all. The only annoying thing is there is no reserved seating. But all in all amazing value for money.

Yelp
What a dump. You'd have to pay me a fiver to come here. First of all, as you enter you are sorted, or herded like cattle, into two queues, one for ticket holders and the other for non-ticket holders. From there you can either queue up for some toxic junk food to accelerate your diabetes / obesity, or head straight to the "cinema". I say "cinema" because no body is there to watch films. People just come here to get pissed and shout and scream. Honestly the most chaotic and noisy film-viewing experience I've ever had. The theatre was also filthy, and the seats highly uncomfortable. To top it all off, Peckham Plex bills itself as an "independent cinema", yet they don't show any independent films, just the usual superhero Hollywood trash.

George G.

Yelp
The PeckhamPlex is daggy as hell, and therein lies its charm. The signs above the "Snack Shack" are straight out of the late 1980's. When I visited, the computer system was down, and they were selling old fashioned little tickets for "CA$H ONLY"- priceless. At £5 it's considerably cheaper than most other cinemas in town, but I found my seat comfy and the picture sharp. The sound wasn't as deafeningly loud as others cinemas, a boon to me. The tales of poorly behaved patrons are entirely believable, and I think the key to minimizing this risk is to choose a fairly adult film.

Nick B.

Yelp
Terrible place, last time I came here the screen had so much rubbish and popcorn on the floor it must not have been cleaned for quite some time. I complained and asked to see the manager, and the berk in the uniform told me "if you want to see the manager you go find him", incredible. The behaviour of this cinemas patrons leaves quite a bit to be desired too, often people arguing, having mobile phone conversations, or just generally being a nuisance. Do your self a big favour and go anywhere else except here to see the film you want to catch!

Richard A.

Yelp
If you want a cinema that is clean, quiet, and pampers you with craft beer do not go here. However, if you want a cinema that is cheap (£5!), doesn't have people tutting and discussing how they read about this bit in the Guardian, go here. It's more of an art installation showing what a cinema can be like, unabated by rules. People are often let in late, and it is not always the cleanest place - but no dirtier than a wallet-stealing Odeon. However, if you are late, have messy food, want to sit and watch a blockbuster, and only have a fiver, it's the perfect place. No-one will judge you, apart from the person who is there for the first time and doesn't like it. They're usually the ones who turn up late, by the way. This cinema can never be made 5 stars because it is not the place to watch a film in peace unless you are lucky with the crowd. But it is the place to watch a blockbuster without feeling like someone just nicked £10 from your wallet at the end. It's also perfect for kids because, well, no-one moans about kids there.

Bronni H.

Yelp
Really cheap, they do Orange Wednesdays too if you can believe it, £2.50 a ticket! However on a Wednesday it gets really busy and they tend to keep everyone penned in their little foyer until the actual time on your ticket. Oh, and it smells a bit weird. Love their big screen though!

Yelp
What's everyone boohooing about this place. It's not actually much cheaper than anyplace else.. but does have a good cheap tuesday deal. Tho i've not been for a month... I assume that is still going. It's a good of place as any. Peckham isn't the prettiest part of town, so what do you expect? Brass railings and red carpets? It's a good of a cinema as any other! I would go here, or anywhere conient to my location.

Yelp
I liked it best when ticket prices here were cheaper than the popcorn, but I appreciate that times change. Nowadays instead of a crazy £2.99 per adult ticket it's still pretty good value with a maximum cost of at £6.50 (for Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings after 5pm) - and this is for general release movies. Set back from Rye Lane, the cinema's a reasonably spacious multi-screen affair but with a neighbourhood feel to it. There might be groups of youths huddled around about the slightly scuzzy paved area leading up to the front door (next to a presumably now-defunct Woolworths) and it's worth keeping your wits about you if you're going home late after a film, but you can't believe everything you hear about Peckham and I've never had a problem there. I love that London has alternative options for movie going besides faceless, expensive chains, and Peckham Multiplex is in my top five for honest, good value cinema. Last time I went I noticed there were t-shirts for sale too - where else would you get that?!!

Yelp
The best kept hidden cinema in south east london, based in peckham. All BLOCKBUSTER films are shown and some worldwide films, probably one a week. The cinema is clean, toilets are extremely clean, popcorn prices are cheap and other snack options are available at a reasonable price. The screens are a good size and there are no seating plans, I go to this cinema all the time, as the service is good but best of all the ticket price is £3.00 for all, all day, every day. BARGAIN!!!

David M.

Yelp
A cheap place to see a film if you are strapped for cash. However, if money is not as important as being able to see and hear the film you have gone to see, spend a little more and go to a Vue or other large cinema. It seems that people are generally better behaved when they have paid a decent amount to see a film.

Charlie G.

Yelp
Cinema showing the latest blockbusters and other films for £5 all day which has to be the cheapest around as all other cinemas nearby seem to be at least £10. Mega value. I've been several times and never had any issues with other punters as in other reviews. It does get busy. You can reserve tickets via the Peckhamplex website and pay when you collect them from the box office. There was a huge queue for tickets so this is worth doing if you can get to the cinema a little earlier before the film is due to start. Also Bar Story around the corner is good for drinks!

Zoe S.

Yelp
Cheap as chips and worth every penny! I've heard some horror stories from other people about this place (eg stranger putting chewing gum in hair, drunk man swearing throughout film etc) but everytime I've been I've always been pretty impressed by what I'm getting! Considering most cinemas in London cost at least £10, you can't really fault this place! I've recently moved out of Peckham, but considering it would still be cheaper for me to go to Peckhamplex (including my travel both ways) I will definitely still be going here!

Yelp
The cheapest cinema in London that I've managed to find, with tickets costing about a fiver for an adult. As long as you're not expecting luxurious facilities, then this is the place to go for an affordable fix of Hollywood blockbuster action. Just don't go there on a first date.

Qype User (fuerte…)

Yelp
Dirt cheap cinema that has a path of neon lights leading up to it and is generous with it's slush puppies? Win. I was a big fan of the Plex as a student not only for the cheapness but for what I like to call the 'interactive' element of the cinema. Usually I want to punch people that talk throughout film in the back of the head but something is different here. For example go to the first screening of a big blockbuster when it's nice and full. Guaranteed there'll be lots of shouting, comedy commentary and not so subtle innuendos if there's any sexy bits. Basically encompasses two things I love- films and making smart arse comments...loudly.

Qype User (RCrai…)

Yelp
Shame they've ended the £3.99 Tuesdays and Thursdays because that was great. This has now changed to £4.99 only on Tuesdays which is still a bargain compared to almost all other cinemas. The seats and screen sizes are pretty standard so only major draw is the Tuesday bargain. But check their listings before you go - I find they often don't show what you expect to be on.

Yelp
Peckham cinema is definitely the bargain basement of nights out. But it does the job. The cinema is on Peckham high street just opposite the McDonalds, so that is dinner sorted. The tickets are very cheap compared to the other cinema chains. At £5.20 a ticket. Not bad! It used to be £2.99 but obviously inflation has set in. The cinema itself can be messy at time and you will find that the staff who work there let their friends in for free which can be a pain. I wouldn't advise going here at night time as the streets are completely empty of a night and the cinema is situated down a side street which can be a bit dangerous. On a good note they show all the latest films and the popcorn and food is great tasting so you do get the cinema experience. I think this is best for taking the kids out on a Saturday afternoon as it is cheap but very very cheerful!

Qype User (josi23…)

Yelp
The Peckham Multiplex is a nice cinema in a little bit dodgy neighborhood. It is located directly on the main street with all the shops. There is no tube, but there are many buses you can take (f.ex. 78, 12). The price used to be 2.99.... a real bargain, but now they charge 5.50 pounds i think. so not the bargain it used to be, but still a cheap way to go and see the newest blockbuster.

Qype User (berbac…)

Yelp
Not the fanciest of cinemas but it does the job. Visitors get the true 'peckham experience' at this cinema, so be prepared to witness full-blown participation in the film, complete with screams and tutting and exclamations of suprise! Not one for a quiet romantic night out, but a great experience none-the-less. And it's much cheaper than most, although avoid the toilets, as they are not the best kept loos in London/

Hannah B.

Yelp
I guess everyone who goes to Peckham Multiplex Cinema must either be skint or want to see a film really really badly. Bar the period in which you are totally engrossed by the film, this cinema experience is not the most pleasant. Firstly the location is pretty grim and although the Cinema is not terrible, it is neither unique nor the kind of place you would want to be for longer than necessary. On the occasion when there is a rowdy group not the slightest bit interested in the film sitting in the row behind (which has happened to m more than once) it makes for a disappointing experience. It is however, the cheapest cinema I have found and although not the nicest, I have no serious complaints to make about it.

Linnea F.

Yelp
PeckhamPlex is probably the cheapest cinema in London showing blockbusters on big screens and providing for you popcorn and soda needs. It's what you expect from a big cinema, not too personal but the film you want to see at a reasonable time. And what makes peckhamplex stand out, at a good price.

Qype User (kather…)

Yelp
this place used to be really good with the stupidly cheap tickets, but it has now become a nightmare! the last time I went apart form being charged £6.00 for a ticket, the whole experience was like being in a classroom while the teacher is out, some loser was constantly on his mobile and when confronted went started shouting saying he had payed for a ticket and had every right to be there!? erm, ok so what did everyone else do? still makes me angry, this is the kind of people who always seem to be there when I go so I have now given up and wait for the dvd release.

Qype User (grands…)

Yelp
i have been coming for years, prices were super low then went up and are now 4.99 all day everyday for all!! totally brilliant, yes its not as sparkaling as others but seats are comfy and the adverts dont go on for ever, went to the ritzy in brixton the other day and it was at least half hour of adverts in tiny cinema and over double the price, booo good for everyone and as good a lineup as other cinemas, only downside is toilets are a bit rank,( need updating really) but are cleaned regular so useable
