"In the burgeoning craft-beer scene in Ho Chi Minh City, Pasteur Street is undoubtedly the front-runner. Opened in 2015 by a pair of Americans—one involved in hospitality in Vietnam, another who worked at a brewery in Colorado—the outfit concocts classic craft brews with Vietnamese ingredients. The comfortable space, with a long wooden bar, warm lighting, and a deliberate absence of TV screens, fosters a congenial atmosphere, one focused on beer and conversation. While the menu includes bar bites like Nashville Hot Chicken, black-eyed-pea hummus, and fried pickles, the beers are what keep tipplers coming back, including those that utilize local ingredients like jasmine, pomelo, passion fruit, and cinnamon."

"Notable craft breweries have popped up in recent years between D1 and D3, from Pasteur Street Brewing Company, which was one of the first to open and counts three taprooms."

Pasteur Street Brewing Co. – A Hidden Gem in Ho Chi Minh City Tucked away just a block from Ben Thanh Market, Pasteur Street Brewing Co. is a must-visit for craft beer lovers in Ho Chi Minh City. This place is a true hidden gem, offering an impressive selection of locally brewed beers with unique flavors that showcase Vietnamese ingredients. During my visit, I had the chance to try the Cycle Stout Rum Barrel Aged, and it was outstanding. Rich, complex, and beautifully balanced, it had deep notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, and a smooth, warming rum finish that made it an absolute standout. While this was the only barrel-aged beer available at the time, the quality was top-tier, and I can only imagine how good their other barrel-aged offerings must be. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with a cozy upstairs space perfect for enjoying a cold pint away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, making great recommendations based on personal preferences. If you’re a craft beer enthusiast or just looking for a great spot to unwind with a high-quality brew, Pasteur Street Brewing Co. is well worth a visit. The location, just off the main tourist path, makes it feel like a hidden oasis of great beer in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. Highly recommend!

Love the very low key style. Excellent service. Quan was amicable and knowledgeable. Explained every little part of the food and our questions. Excellent service. Now the food, first 2 pages of menu look like your usual western tourist stuff “arghhh” I thought, but I guess they need to cater to everyone. BUT…. Turn the pages and some really unique cuisine things. Maybe not grandma-Vietnamese-cuisine, but a modern Vietnamese twist with really yummy and unique flavours. The pork snail “meatballs” and the oysters, and the pork belly all had a truly vietnamese modern twist that was surely tasty and different. And the beer… well except for the lager (_again I guess they need to cater to everybody) they were very good an different. Their Muoi is very unique and their cyclo is one to be remembered. And, for being a place “catering to tourists” it is a really nice experience and good food and beer. Did I mention Quan made our night sooo sooo easy? Thanks Quan!!!

The original outlet ! Tucked away from the main street, it offers a charming and cozy atmosphere, complemented by a great selection of 70s–80s rock music. The diverse craft beer lineup is sure to delight any beer enthusiast—or their beer belly.

I first came here in 2018 and fell in love with the beer here. I’m glad it’s still good in 2025. Excellent beer selection. The passionfruit ale is a standout. Food is good too.

Stumbled across this place after we couldn’t get into our first choice restaurant, and I’m glad we did! The restaurant has lots of cool seating areas, we sat upstairs on the terrace. Really good atmosphere, lots of people here for the craft beers etc but we also got some food. Food was good and a decent selection of mains to pair with a good ale/lager/stout of your choosing. Highly recommend and would 100% come back here.

Pasteur Street is a pretty good brewery, but personally I find some of their beers a bit hit and miss. Recently I tried one of their lime seltzers and it was excellent, and the Jasmin tea beer is good. This location is a bit quieter than the others.

Maybe the beer is good but the food was awful and very expensive.. bill was 900k (£28.95) for a teaser salad, wings, burger and chips. None of the food tasted fresh. The burger bun was very stale, the chips were cold and re fried (full of oil and stale). The wings were actually ok, but for the price it's insane. Absolutely gutted that Mad rooster was closed..... It's a shame because all the staff were fantastic, super friendly and attentive.

Outstanding food, drinks, and service! We have been to Pasteur Street Brewing in Hanoi but this was our first visit to the original location. The environment is welcoming, clean, industrial modern, and the rooftop bar is perfect for an evening drink. The food was absolutely delicious! We tried the Sautéed Duck with rice crackers, sautéed broccolini, and the stir fried tenderloin steak. All were flavorful, fresh and so delicious. Service was fast and very friendly.
