PALPATIO HOTEL

The hotel is immaculately clean and charming, and the staff is incredibly warm and helpful. The linen and towels are very luxurious, and the beds and pillows are comfortable. We can't say enough good things about staying here, but the accolades go to the staff and their personalized service, hands down. We were upgraded to the Marcelina room with overlooks patio 3, and this room is the picture of quiet and tranquility. Leave the big window wide open and enjoy the cool breeze while relaxing in your room. The hotel is a very short walk from everything good. In fact the area is so quiet that we were able to sleep with the window open - which comes with the very minor caveat that the property is in an area of some boarded up buildings and not a lot of foot traffic.

The hotel used to be a covent. It is seeped with history and calm. It is a historical site so the conversion is designed to retain and maintain its original features. You will see and feel and enjoy this. It is kept very clean. There is a very nice restaurant separately owned by at the front of the building. El Particular. We ate all our breakfasts there. Yummy. The staff for both the hotel and the restaurant are very cheerful, cordial, and helpful. The hotel is well located, 4 blocks from the center of town and the Plazas where all the action is. We went at Christmas time so even more action and lots of lights, Santa Clauses, an ice skating rink, a Christmas Tree and a Nativity Scene, and Christmas related activities. The hotel is right on the bus line but we couldn’t figure out how to use it.|The room had a scent that my husband reacted to. A cleaning agent? The incense in the room? We don’t know the source but we did remove the incense and that might have helped but didn’t totally eliminate his reaction. We would appreciate written instructions on how to successfully use the local buses since they are right outside the door.

Peaceful Stay at Palpatio Hotel Boutique We loved the quiet location, away from the tourist crowds, allowing us to sleep with the windows open—amazing! The only onsite service is a small coffee shop, but that was fine for us. Big thanks to Axel at the front desk for his warm welcome and helpfulness. Perfect for those seeking a peaceful stay.

Excellent service in the hotel and cafe. Bilingual which was helpful as my Spanish is muy poco. Beautiful decor, artwork, comfortable and clean. My only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer.

A quiet and peaceful hotel in the Centro historic. A former convent that now hosts 21 rooms and 3 patios/courtyards. Staff most helpful and all spoke English.|One attraction that was most helpful - the hotel arranged a taxi to meet us at the airport. The cab driver, Pablo was excellent. He took us to a 7 Eleven to access an ATM and to get water. On-site restaurant - el Particular- was delightful serving a great breakfast every morning and refreshments and light plates in the pm. After one week there we felt like family. |Best on line app for taxis is DiDI - Uber is much more expensive. And a private taxi to take you to the airport and further afield is a good idea.

An excellent location, very classy interior design. Fantastically friendly and competent staff. Quiet nights for sleeping. Would certainly return here.

Location is fantastic. Close enough for a 5 minute stroll to Teatro Degollado for an inspired classical concert in a gorgeously restored colonial building, but far enough from the bustle of the entire UNESCO tourist zone. Two blocks in the opposite direction is a neat local eatery, Restaurant y Menuderia Lidia, which has great breakfasts, attentive service and usually a strolling Mexican folk singer. Next door to that restaurant is an enclosed old central market that encompasses an entire block and has a hundred of stalls with fresh vegetables, fruits, meats and sundries at the local prices. They also have a dozen small comedores, where inexpensive good food can be had. My only complaint was with the front staff, who seem more interested in selling package tours for a commission than assisting an independent traveler. A very simple request made to 4 different front desk staff was simply ignored. The management later made up for this, and it was very much appreciated, but the bitterness of not even receiving the courtesy of a response was hard to bear.

We had a great stay, the hotel was quiet and the patio was beautiful. The location is close enough to walk to the city center and still felt like a safe area. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast we had at the hotel cafe was delicious. I recommend this hotel.
