Palazzo Consiglia

The hotel is a lovely old Valletta town house, perfectly situated with helpful and courteous staff. Some rooms are a little dark and may need a bit of an upgrade - TVs have three remotes each (why?), my card access failed multiple times and there aren’t any kettles in the room. But if noise disturbance early morning from an unknown source but beds were comfy, Breakfast was decent but nothing to write home about. Overall a great place to stay.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Arrived to a welcome drink and face cloths to freshen up. Hotel was very classy and cleaned to a very high standard. Our room had plenty of space, welcome basket and drinks, lovely view, large tv, room service brought us some chocolate and we had everything we needed. Lovely roof top pool with sun loungers and amazing view. Private use of the spa area which was amazing. Breakfast, there was everything you could want. Staff, really friendly and honestly went above and beyond, nothing was too much. I would recommend this place to anyone and I really hope to be back to visit in the future.

I really didn't want to review this place, I wanted to keep it a secret. This place is such a gem, perfectly situated in a quiet side street in the heart of Valetta. We had booked a private transfer from the airport which dropped us right outside of the hotel where Tony the manager was waiting to greet us, we knew it was him as on other reviews it was noted that he is very tall and Dutch, no mistaking him for a local. Once inside we were given a warm, soft cleansing serviette to freshen up which was very welcome as well as a thirst quenching fruit cocktail, mmm. Tony explained the checking process and took the obligatory copies of our passports, he then told us information on the history of the Palazzo and details of the facilities available to us. After this he took our cases up in the lift to our room, we followed using the magnificent stair case. Our room on the first floor name Zingara, each room has a different name, wo oh wow! I was speechless, the room was huge, a super king size bed, period furniture and a bathroom you could hold a party in. After un packing we took the lift up to the 4th floor to find the lovely rooftop seating area where there are comfortable seats and tables both in the shade and the sun a few sun loungers. The short stairs lead up to the pool which has 8 sunbeds and best of all magnificent views over the roofs to the sea. We decided to go and find somewhere to eat and asked Tony for directions and suggestions, we wanted not a full meal , but something light and tasty, after a few moments Tony gave us clear directions up to the flat upper part of the city where there are seemingly hundreds of bars, cafes, and every type of restaurant possible and as it was Friday night the area was buzzing. The next morning we went down for breakfast, you are totally spoilt by the choice available, from fruit and juices, cold cuts, cheese, salad and a selection of breads and pastries as well as al a carte dishes. Service is quick and efficient and always with a smile. The staff, Tony and his team are amazing a real credited to the hotel, it was my birthday while we were there and after a day on Gozo we returned to our room to find a birthday cake made out of towels on the bed and sprinkles of red paper rose petals, then a knock at the door and 2 members of staff with a chocolate torte complete with a candle serenading me singing Happy Birthday! Now that is thoughtful and beyond normal service, it made my day so special. We had such a fantastic time exploring Malta and Gozo and wished we had booked 10 days not 7 as we didn't get to see all we wanted, but that gives us a good reason to return, we will and would not thinking of staying in any other hotel.|A massive Thank you to Tony and his team.

Outstanding small boutique hotel for our first visit to an equally outstanding Valletta. ||The modern twists to an ancient building worked fantastically well. All the staff were totally service orientated. The room was atmospheric, blending old and new, but with a window looking into the atrium. The seats and beds on the roof round the plunge pool were a real bonus in such a warren like city, whilst the breakfast was superb. ||The hotel’s location on a quiet street and two minutes walk from one of the key city arteries with dozens of classy restaurants and bars could not be beaten.||My only tips might be an extra light in the bedroom to help when getting changed, and a decent TV channel package akin to other hotels of this quality. But these are simply minor thoughts to add to a hotel that knows exactly what it’s doing. Wonderful

Lovely Hotel with well trained and friendly staff. It is very well located for visiting all the main attractions in Valletta and also for the high speed ferry to both Gozo and the Three Cities (five minutes walking max.). Saint Ursula Street itself is quiet but just one block away from numerous street restaurants and cafes. The rooms are lavish in scale and tastefully decorated. Breakfast (continental or full English with many options) was of a high standard. Would definitely stay again when next in Malta.

A real Jewel in the Crown. Highly recommended at every single level. Room was exceptional. Well equipped, and a nicely furnished room. Rain Forest shower in the bathroom area, which was a real treat. Breakfast was excellent, a choice of a wide range of continental style treats or a choice of hot breakfasts served to your table. 😊 Every member of the team offered high levels of customer service and a special shout out to both Tony and Lilliana who continually went above and beyond with their care and service. |Highly Recommended A+++++ We will be back !

We cannot speak highly enough of this lovely hotel. This was our first visit but it won't be our last! The moment we arrived and were given our welcome drink, we felt as though we had just come home from a long trip, what a welcome! Our room had a super comfortable bed and great bathroom facilities with a large walk-in shower, although rooms with a bath are available if preferred. The coffee machine, kettle and fridge in the room were also very handy! Overall, the service and food were of a high standard but were provided in a relaxed, quiet and very friendly atmosphere. The rooftop area and pool are very well appointed and comfortable. The hotel is located in downtown Valletta, a few minutes walk from the city central facilities, although there are some steep streets around. The staff are very professional but very warm and helpful and nothing is too much trouble.Our thanks to Lilijana, Jona and Tony and all the team for making us feel so at home. We loved it!

We had a fabulous stay in this lovely boutique hotel. Perfectly positioned in old Valetta, the building has been beautifully refurbished to provide the utmost comfort whilst retaining it's charm. The Staff are all wonderful and very attentive, even bringing my husband a birthday cake at breakfast on his special day! The facilities and spa are also spot on. Breakfasts are delicious with a choice of cereal, bread, fruit, meats and cheeses plus you can have something freshly prepared from the A La Carte Menu. There are loads of amazing restaurants within easy walking distance (recommend 59 Republic, Trabuxu and The Ortygia). Don't bother with hiring a car: it's really easy to use the Bolt Taxis and they are also very reasonably priced. I thoroughly recommend this as a gorgeous place to stay!
