Pahlavan Mahmoud Mausoleum

Separate ticket of 25,000 - worth it - inside telework is great.

You need to buy additional ticket to the mausoleum for 25.000som, because it's not included (and mentioned) in the ticket to the old city (which costs 200.000). So it's 4th place in Khiva where you need to buy additional ticket to enter.... (100.000 for minaret, 100.000 for observatory deck in palace and 20.000 for walls).

It's beautiful and intricate but if you are coming from Samarkand and Bukhara then it's a repetition and monotonous ( for me) 25k pp charge is separate and maybe worth a visit instead of 200k day ticket which is a rip off.

This is a beautiful place topped with a emerald green dome and the holiest site in Khiva. Pakhlavan Mahmud, who was a fur hat maker and a famous poet of Khiva. During Saturdays it is crowded and a lot of weddings can be seen.

Many cartouches with religious sayings, Pakhlavan Mahmud verses and names of masters are included in the memorial majolica. The Pakhlavan Mahmud gravestone is unsurpassed with the jeweller's accuracy and the grace of the mosaic of carved slip glaze ceramics. Civil construction was carried out under the guidance of the famous Khivan architect Muhammad Murad. The names of the ceramic masters, who took part in the mausoleum's decoration, are also known - these are usto (teacher) Sufi Muhammad Niyaz and usto Abdulla Dzhin, who defined the Khivan style of the buildings decoration for many decades hence. The mausoleum has gradually been turned into a majestic construction, with the greatest dome in Khiva, covered with blue glazed tiles with a sparkling gilt top.

Makhmoud Pakhlavan : The National Hero of Khiva If blue domes as the symbol of the eastern architecture  can be often found in Samarkand and Bukhara, there is only one blue dome in Khiva.

Mausoleum. Many people come here at every moment to pray. Have to wash your hands and leave your shoes outside before entering the mausoleum. There are several rooms where to pray inside the main building and some other side one where there are some tumbs.

You may call this a terrible review but if I were reading it myself I'd like it.dont forget to walk around back. You can get some nice photos like this. The inside is nice too but there are plenty of other reviews with photos of it.
