"Winter Sports close to City Center Not the biggest ski resort in Norway (a country where skiing is as much a national obsession as hockey is in Canada ), the Oslo Winter Park nonetheless wins points hands down for being one of the few ski resorts in the world just a few minutes outside of a major urban center. Just 20 minutes from downtown Oslo, the park offers several ski lifts, snow cannons for an extended ski season lasting from Early December to Mid-April, and floodlights for night skiing. Folks in Oslo sometimes skip out of their offices for lunch, head here for a few hours of skiing and get back to town before the sun goes down, no mean feat in a city with notoriously short winter days."

"Woodland Wonderland Tryvann is a nice little area within Nordmarka (another afar.com highlight), that has everything you can ask for in a forest. Tryvannshøgda, a large hill, overlooks the three small lakes: Skomakertjern, Lille Tryvann, and Store Tryvann. The television mast Tryvannstårnet on top of Tryvannshøgda is open to visitors, and on a clear day you can see all the way to Sweden from it. Tryvannstua, a small cabin that serves snacks and refreshments to hikers, is open year-round. If you're into skiing, Oslo Vinterpark has 18 slopes and is Norway 's 4th largest ski park."

This is very conveniently located in Oslo! However, they gave me boots that were way too big!! They gave me 25,5 but im 160cm. Oh well, I finally sorted it out to the right size. I would say their green slope is more of a blue, as it was initially a bit too steep for my wife who has never skied before. It was also a bit icy :/ But! The staff was really nice and when somebody accidentally took my rental skis, they re-assured me that they would get returned and to not worry. So far I haven’t received a 2000NOK fine, so I guess they were returned! Food was average, but at least not too expensive. They have a nice fireplace in the main lodge. I would come here to ski here again if I am in Oslo in the winter again.

The place is easily and cheaply accessible with Oslo underground, the slopes are green, blue, red and black. As a beginner I stayed on the green and blue which weirdly I found easier then the green. Unfortunately all three days I was there, although is wasn’t busy and during week days, there were no instructors available for a lesson of 50 minutes. I felt that my skiis were not the right ones for my height and weight (even a few skii maestros pointed it out), definitely too heavy, but when I asked at the rental store they told me those were the smallest skiis they had available. Some things that I thought were included like the helmet are not, so the price was a little higher then what I expected to pay. There’s a nice coffee with a beautiful view where to rest and enjoy a warm cup of tea. Overall I wish the website was less verbose so it would’ve been easier to understand for a beginner how to book in advance for a private lesson etc, there’s an app but is pretty pointless since you book the tourist pass on the day you are there. I felt at times the communication in english with the staff was not fluent, I also wished the receipt was printed in english as well not only in Norwegian, which I don’t believe is a crazy entitled demand since there’s many tourists visiting.

Fantastic ski area at the end of metro line 1. We had two great days, kids took lessons. Instructors were very attentive and equipment staff also very good. Pizza place in green area is recommended. We enjoyed it, we are beginner/intermediate skiers. Our daughters wore their Skimore medals with pride for the next few days.

The location is fantastic—just a short trip from Oslo. The only downside is the price and quality of goggles in the shop, so be sure to bring your own. The resort offers small green slopes, ideal for beginners or those looking to refine their technique, and the blue run is truly enjoyable. A great spot for all skill levels!

We decided to embark on our adventure to the cool spot this past Sunday, and I must say, it truly exceeded my expectations in terms of foot traffic—there were definitely more people than I had anticipated. As we approached the alpine ski and snowboard rental area, it was clear that the atmosphere was lively, and a bit chaotic, with families bustling about, equipment being fitted, and the sound of excited chatter filling the air. Instead of joining the masses, we opted for a different experience by choosing to rent Nordic skis. This decision led us to a hidden gem—a peaceful section of the area that was remarkably tranquil and had hardly anyone around. With every step we took into the Nordic skiing trails, we were enveloped in an enchanting winter wonderland. The snow was groomed to perfection, creating a smooth and inviting surface that beckoned us to glide effortlessly over it. As we skied, the stunning views unfolded around us, with snow-covered trees standing tall against a brilliant blue sky and the sun casting a warm glow over the landscape. The serenity of the low-traffic trails allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature. Unlike the excitement of the alpine skiers racing down the slopes, our experience was filled with a calming peace. We enjoyed the soft sounds of nature and the rhythmic swish of our skis gliding over the snow, making for an unforgettable day. The contrast between our serene adventure and the excitement of others added to the richness of our experience, allowing us to create lasting memories in a truly idyllic setting. 😁

My first day here was amazing. The snow was great, and we had a fun day. Although the second day we were only there for about 10 minutes and returned home. There was no snow it was pure ice, my partner and I both fell and was hurt due to the hardness. It was impossible to go down even the smaller hills, and it was extremely crowded. I asked if we can change our day of hire before we started snowboarding, but they would not allow a change unless I paid for a whole extra day. We also had to take all our equipment home which was not convenient as we are staying a 30 minutes drive away, so then having the gear we had to take 2 hours of public transport back instead of an uber. Even though I explained this the day before, they did not change the days. It was quite disappointing considering how expensive it is.

A perfect ski area for a day or two. Located only a 40 min train ride with line 1 from down town Oslo. The world class cross country options used for the Olympic Games and down hill options to feed your needs for a few days. Perfect beginners slopes and parks for those keen on jumps / slides and more. Great rental equipment

First time here, the slopes are nice, the beginners areas are great, although the slope 1 is green, I would say it's more to blue than very beginners
