Oliver's Fish & Chips

We were greeted by a smiling young lady who invited us to sit where we liked for dining in and went for the cod and chips. The cod was very fresh, lightly but fully battered served with hand cut fresh chips and sauces and tasted wonderful. Not sure why there are these negative reviews as remember only one usually small detail may be amiss and a low rating is given but the food was of excellent standard and so was the service. Our order was taken promptly and we were left to eat at our leisure until we finished - clean plates all round. I'd definitely recommend and dine again here!

My favourite fish and chips in the whole of London! We happily travel an hour from home to reach here, it is 100% worth it. The food is always cooked fresh to order, and the homemade tartar sauce is beautiful. To be honest we always order the battered fish and chips, but the menu is very inclusive; there are grilled fish options, gluten free options, and a lovely range of starters and salads. It's not just your average menu at all. The staff are friendly and polite. If I had to have any complaint, it would be that my stomach isn't bigger!!! The portions are very reasonable, so if you have a good appetite you won't leave hungry. Great dessert selection too.

The food was absolutely delicious and sooooo fresh. The cod bites and chips were crunchy and the fish so tender and flaky. Will be going back soon to try the deep fried mars bar as well!

We had a haddock and a portion of chips to share and an Israeli salad. The fish was good but the chips could have been better. The salad was nice. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

My wife and I have been coming to this fish and chips shop for the last 4 years, the food is very good, fresh and tasty. But I have to say with a lot of pain inside, that few days ago we were eating at the outside table of their shop during summer. Then suddenly a waitress of the shop came and seat next to us and was eating her food, after eating she suddenly lit a cigarette and started smoking. I said to the girl excuse me could you please go somewhere else and smoke. I have asthma problem...after hearing that the girl looked at us very angry and said you guys get up and seat somewhere else, I can't go now it's my break time and It's my place.. We're old people and without arguing with the girl, we go to another table and sit, Unfortunately that day we could not find the manager of the restaurant to file a complaint..I hope the manager will see my review and take immediate action on the tragic incident that happened to us... And if restaurant management doesn't come up with a good solution then we will take legal action with camden council. I have photo and video proof.. Thank you..

It was fine, though at almost £60 for two people to have fish, chips, curry sauce and a glass of wine I’d have expected better. The batter and curry sauce were good, and a good gluten free selection for my coeliac partner. The fish wasn’t super fresh, the chips were undercooked and the wine was a little ropey.

Ordered delivery. Chips were ok - a large chips is very large (3-4 people’s worth). Curry sauce was homemade and good but the fish lets it all down. Haddock was actually wet and sloppy. Cod not much better. Batter thick and tasteless. Overly bread like and not crisp and light like the best beer batter should be. Will not be ordering again.

Had a lovely lunch at Oliver’s. Haddock was fried perfectly, as was our mars bar. Shopkeepers were warm and welcoming, we’d love to go back again soon.
