"Visit the Baltic island of Öland Fly into Kalmar from Stockholm (less than an hour), pick up a rental car, and drive over to this island, a major vacation spot for Swedes due to its temperate climate. You can also catch the ferry that runs between Oskarshamn and Byxelkrok. You could easily spend 2-3 nights exploring historic Viking sites such as Gettlinge and Eketorp—one of 19 Iron Age ring forts across the island."

It is a very beautiful island with diverse landscapes. It is possible to visit this island in one day. It is also possible to book a stuga in Öland and this way one could get more of the island. It is also ideal for a longer weekend trip. Ideal for family with or without children. We stayed in Kalmar and left early for Öland and we covered most of the popular places if not all. It is good to carry your own food and water if you like. Not very many restaurants around here. We carried our own bread, juice and so on. By the time we left the island, it was already time for dinner. So, we headed straight to Kalmar and ate our dinner. It’s worth the trip.

A Island with a lot of histoy. Long pebble beaches. Very flat and open. Great place to watch birds and a beautiful Sunset. A quiet place to unlock.

A nice island in the south of Sweden to explore during weekends. Here you can go by cars or boats. I recommend to stay in the central of the island so it is easier to get around

One of the greatest places in Sweden to be during summer. It has both camping placed, cabins and hotels. Great sightseeing and some great nature. The fauna is one of a kind on this island.
