"If you’re looking for the picture-book European street-cafe experience, this is the place for you. The seating is all outside on their terrace with great views of the town hall and the Boulevard main drag, while the coffee is dark with just the right ratio of milk to espresso. The baked goods are all excellent, especially the gateau basques and the “brioche” that’s actually a warm puff pastry drenched in sugar and studded with raisins. The best part is all the sweets are made from scratch in Oiartzun’s own bakery nearby." - marti buckley

"Breakfast on the Boulevard Turning down that last gin-tonic has its benefits. The Old Part of San Sebastián is at its most peaceful in the morning. Head to Pastelería Oyarzun, grab a hot piece of what the locals call "brioche," but is actually a croissant with raisins, off the top of the espresso machine, and sit at a table outside. The cool morning air, café, and people watching. The perfect way to start a day in San Sebastián."

Google
The best bakery in the city. I came back three times. The service is fast but surprisingly they don't speak English. Compared to last year the prices are way higher but similar to any other place in the city.

Lovely pastelería on the edge of San Sebastian's old town selling a tasty selection of fine baked goods as well as artisan chocolate and truffles. The grande Pastel Tasco (almond tart) was absolutely delicious and was the standout item for me, although we tried a number of different cakes which were all lovely. Very friendly service, and a great location. Easily found if you are approaching the old town from the Centro area or the beach.

One of the best Basque cheesecakes. Very fluffy and light (not dense)

Had a simple breakfast here, consisting of a pastry and a café con leche (latte). I chose a pastry I'd never tried before, called Bollo de Leché. It was essentially milk bread with a sugar glaze on top. It seems this place is popular with locals and tourists alike as popular items seem to be out of stock by the early afternoon. I'd definitely visit again as they had a wider selection of treats than I had time.

This is one of those stores were you spend some time trying to decide what to get, because after all you want to try everything they have. Those pastries are so aesthetically pleasing! And the prices are very reasonable, not high at all for the offered product. For us, it was the first place where we tried the traditional gâteau basque and we absolutely loved it, even though we can't quite compare it to any other. Would definitely come back to this place if I get the chance so I can get more unique and beautiful pastries.

Pasteleria - shop and cafe, not too many tables outside, but can drink coffee standing at the bar. Coffee ☕️ was good, Sacher is very delicious, a lot of sweet choice. Staff is super fast

Very delicious pastries. Small place, friendly personel. You can order a coffee and something heavenly from there counter. You van eat outside and there are alsof a couple of seats inside. There is a toilet if you take the door behind the counter.

Yelp
What a lovely shop with a friendly woman behind the counter. We stopped by twice to grab a quick afternoon espresso and pick up pastries to take back to our hotel. The woman who runs the bakery was friendly and kind and made wonderful recommendations for what to try. Can't wait to come back on our next visit.

Yelp
We walked by this patisserie our first day in San Sebastian, had a cafe con leche and croissant, and were instantly hooked. The croissants are some of the best I've ever had - perfectly flaky, perfect circular layers in the cross-section, and the chocolate croissant is amazing. The extra touch of dipping the ends in high-quality chocolate create a perfect ratio of chocolate to croissant (for this chocoholic). If you are sitting outside, the chocolate will even become a bit melty as you nibble. Amazing. Their English isn't great, but you can get by with pointing at anything that looks good. Some pastries were too sweet and rich for me, but the croissants never failed. It was even worth grabbing one to eat on our hike up Mount Urgull, leaving a little trail of flaky crumbs.

Yelp
Perfect place to stop for ice cream after dinner. This is one of those grab and go ice cream places where you are in and out in 3 minutes. They have all sorts of flavors but what stuck out at me was the cheese cake ice cream. It had these chunks of graham cracker mixed in and it wasn't overly sweet. One of the better ice creams I have had honestly. I feel like in America they make ice creams insanely sweet. In Spain it is a little different with a heavier focus on the flavor. Very good spot. I would highly recommend. Skip dessert at dinner and come by here or get both!!!

Yelp
Great place to stop for dessert after some pintxos! Their Gâteau Basque and coco pastries were tasty. Would have given another star but the service and customer service isn't the best.

Yelp
Just when you think you have had enough you come across this place and decided that its ok to stuff more food down. Worth it? Um yea. just do it. and then walk another mile to help ease the guilt.

Yelp
Nice cakes, too crowed and coffee good. Get in early if you expect to be seated. Tarta vasca and cream bomb super good. Chocolate croissant excellent.

Yelp
It was our last (and only) morning in San Sebastian and we were anxious to have one more walk on La Concha Beach and then hop in the rental car and drive across Southern France, into the Pyrenees, and finally on to the Val D'Aran and Vielha. We weren't in the mood for a big breakfast, but a strong Cafe Solo and a pastry was our appealing choice. We consulted our Rick Steves' book, but unfortunately his "locals" choice was closed. Come to think of it, when we combined all the Monday closings and this AM disappointment (Bar Gorriti), old Rick really failed us in San Sebastian. Gayle and I previously walked past Oiartzun Gozotegia and ended up circling back to check it out. It's located just as you enter the old city and is across from the Park/City Hall Complex. When we entered, a group of Lady Friends were spending a chatty morning together. We joined them at the Coffee Bar and enjoyed both the pastries and caffeine and the neighbourly energy. San Sebastian seems to be full of great places to enjoy baked goods and this place literally took the cake for what we wanted and enjoyed.

Yelp
This is for their Heladería stand only. I was craving ice cream, and despite it being a little on the chilly side, I was determined to find it. We stumbled across this after walking through the Old Town, and I was so pleased to find this! I opted for a scoop of the dulce de leche, while my husband had the arroz con leche. Service was super friendly and we were able to order in English. The stand is cash only, so be prepared with coins or bills.

Yelp
Great little spot in town to sit down for a coffee (and pastry) break. I've had their Vasco tart and their croissants - both fresh and flaky. Not dry at all. They have a large selection of traditional pastries and they coffee was up to par. Great way to take a break from shopping.

Yelp
What better way to start your day in beautiful San Sebastian than with a delicious pastry and coffee from Pasteleria Oiartzun. This lovely coffee shop is located near La Concha Beach. The bakery is clean and modern and offers a variety of postres. There is outdoor seating for patrons to enjoy the beach air while relaxing with a cup of coffee and a delicious pastry. Like I said, what better way to start your day!

Nicole M.

Yelp
This place is awesome- had an amazing lemon tart, mini eclair, and some other pastry I don't know the name of. All were 10/10. Would return without a doubt.

Yelp
This was our favorite pastry shop in San Sebastián as there's so many options including some very good traditional pastries, we tried vasco and another that I forget but both were so good. Outdoor seating and coffee paired nicely

Sally E.

Yelp
Came here twice in the space of four days and it was packed both times - one reason being that it's right next to the beach, and the other reason being that it's simply delicious. The first time I came, I ordered a pastel de vasco which was delicious. I didn't expect to like it since I hadn't really been digging any of the Spanish desserts I'd had thus far, but man was that good. Note that the price is slightly higher if you end up sitting at one of their few tables - it's almost like table tax or something. They ask if you want it to go for here, and if you want to sit there, they'd rather you order from the waitress. Strange system. They also have a separate heladeria, which is where I went during my second visits. Tons and tons of ice cream flavors! I already forgot which flavor I got, but it was gooood. Great, prompt service and lots of options.

Yelp
Excellent, strong coffee and crisp, fresh pastries, at a very reasonable price. The women working here were accommodating and provided great service, and and location was practically just outside of our hostel - the Urban House. Located just around the corner from the waterfront, this was the ideal place for us to get our bearings and draw energy for the day, and a most delicious way to do it!

Yelp
amazing bakery place! their croissants are the best! the fruit bread are pretty good too. food in San Sebastian are just in general amazing.

Yelp
The place is constantly turning something delicious out of the oven. All the pastries are fresh, the location is perfect to sit back and relax with a cigarette... this is spain after all; someone will be smoking within a 4-meter radius. Back to the bakery... service is prompt and helpful. Better if you bring cash.
