"Ohana Surf Project Ease into the wave-riding scene with this uniquely soulful surf school on Oahu. Sean Anderson had been teaching for 20 years when he saw the family of a deceased surfer struggling to get into the water. With Susan Geraci he launched the Ohana Surf Project to help people who need a little extra TLC to overcome fear, grief, infirmities, and the challenges of aquatic adventures for those with physical or mental disabilities. The school also caters to tourists with lessons on surfing (board and body) and stand-up paddleboarding in Waikiki; its tiny bus makes pickups at five nearby hotels. The family package offers great deals for children under 12, who have to book private instruction elsewhere."

Our experience surfing with Ohana surf project was incredible. The instructors are all very friendly and helpful and really want to ensure a good experience for all students. We booked the two hour lesson and were very confident by the end of it, despite never having surfed before. Would recommend to anyone.

My family took a private lesson last week and we had an amazing time. They were very well organized and had a great operation. They were caring, engaging and were very attentive to our safety and comfort. Most importantly we all surfed and we all had a great time. My eight years old girl had lots of fun surfing although she did not know how to swim. Claire was very patient to ensure she had a good time. We got tons of awesome pictures and videos too. The staff was very nice to switch the appointment on last minute change. We'll definitely go back when we're in Honolulu next time.

Can’t recommend Ohana surf project enough! The instructors are awesome, super friendly, funny and they take their job seriously! Their goal is to make sure you get the most out of your lesson while staying safe. I’ve seen many instructors in Waikiki and none of them were as professional as the instructors at ohana surf project. You’ll def get a lot of waves while having fun. Whether this is your first time surfing or have been surfing for a bit and want to improve ohana surf project is the spot. Don’t leave Oahu without taking a surf lesson!

Totally worth it!! Nick was our instructor and he was very helpful, patient and of course we had so much fun. I loved the feedback after every ride. I stood up from the first try and most importantly for me, I felt safe! Mahalo from the Greek girls 😁😁

Ohana Surf Project was amazing. K, Jena, Max and Chelsea went out of their way to ensure all 7 of us had one of the best days ever. We even ended up doing something resembling surfing by the end of the lesson. My 6 year old grandson Soiyer can't stop talking about all the waves he rode in on and wanted to make sure I said a big Mahalo to the Ohana family. We will definitely be back for round 2 next time we are in Oahu. After you've been to the best there is no point checking out the rest!
