Oceania Hôtel de France Nantes

This hotel has such wonderful staff, particularly the smiling reception team - both in the daytime and evening. Every interaction we had with them was warm and helpful, and they went out of their way to assist us with two somewhat troublesome matters: one involving the safe storage of our ebikes (my partner and I are cycling through France), and one involving a booking mistake I made. Thank you in particular to Simon for great local advice and the prompt, detailed responses when I emailed with questions - before, during and after the trip. It really was 5-star service. The hotel itself was in a great location, and we were very happy with our stay in the Prestige room - great bedding and bathroom. We will certainly return when we are next in Nantes.

Brilliantly located - bang centre of Nantes' poshest pedestrian district - the Hotel de France has a certain Belle Epoque elegance, satisfactory rooms, good bedding, great buffet breakfasts and, best of all, the warmest and most welcoming staff of any hotel I've been in this year (and I've been in a lot). There's nothing in this hotel to forgive but, if there were, I'd forgive it for the smiles, wit and pleasantness of every member of the personnel we bumped into. This is what promotes a good hotel to excellence.

This hotel is ideally situated in a lovely street adjacent to the Opera in Nantes. The staff on the desk are very friendly and welcoming and the rooms are spacious and very clean. We loved the Rituals shower gel etc. We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Globus Tours brought us to this charming hotel conveniently located near the Théâtre Graslin. This is a great time to visit Nantes, as there are special art installations around historic city. The staff are welcoming, helpful and professional. Rooms are immaculate with freshly updated, with high quality linens and Ritual toiletries. We will plan to return to Nimes for a longer stay and certainly book this hotel.

It was a superb experience. The staff were extremely nice and helpful and the rooms were really nice with comfy beds. Would recommend to friends and family if they’re coming to Nantes.

Stayed here for a girls trip. Hotel was in a great location, staff were very friendly and helpful and rooms were clean and beds comfy. Would stay here again and would highly recommend staying here. It was also a great price. Restauraunts and bars are a close by too

Perfect spot in centre with quick access to restaurants and shops. Comfortable rooms and a good bar . Breakfast was self serve and lots to choose from. Friendly staff. Would stay again.

I spent my birthday in Nantes and loved this hotel. Our room was on the top floor in the corner and had a wonderful view of the Place Graslin. The staff were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. They made dinner reservations for us and helped with any directions or information we needed for our stay in Nantes. The location can't be beat. So close to all the sites, shopping and great restaurants. Being on the edge of the pedestrian zone makes it challenging to get there by car. Call ahead and they will give you a code to enter the area plus directions to the lot right behind their hotel. Once the car is safely parked, everything else can be reached easily on foot and it is a pleasure to explore the city from the hotel's location. The room itself was quite comfortable and had amazing air conditioning considering how in France that is not always the case. The bed was so comfortable I never wanted to get out of it! Breakfast was wonderful. The typical French breakfast you know and love. I did find a new favorite thing at breakfast which is a local specialty called Le Gateau Nantes. It is the most deliciously moist and decadent rum cake that went great with a strong cup of coffee. I loved the cake so much I ended up buying one on the way out of town to enjoy down the road. I look forward to my next visit to Nantes and know exactly where I will be staying.
