Dim sum in Saigon has its hidden gems, but Ocean Palace in District 1 is in a league of its own. This isn’t your casual, budget-friendly dim sum spot, it’s where you go when you want Chinese-Vietnamese fusion cuisine at its most refined. Be prepared to spend, but trust me, it’s worth every $$$$. Let’s talk about the food. The shumai and har gow? Unbelievably fresh the shrimp has that crisp snap, almost as if it leaped from the sea straight into the dumpling wrapper. The handmade noodles with dumplings? Classic, yet deeply flavorful a perfect balance of texture and broth. And then there was the fried fresh fish—the kind of dish that steals the show, where every crispy bite melts into umami bliss. But what really sets Ocean Palace apart is the service flawless, almost theatrical in its precision. This is five-star restaurant treatment. The staff split dishes for each person without us even asking, ensuring everyone had equal portions of noodles, dumplings, and fish. Dirty plates disappeared instantly, like magic. This is a place where tradition meets luxury a spot that celebrates dim sum not just as food but as an experience. If you’re looking for premium dim sum with impeccable service in Saigon, this is it. Come hungry, bring a friend, and prepare to indulge.

Long established Cantonese-Chinese restaurant in Hochiminh City. Very large and noisy dining space, much reminiscent of some of the older Hong Kong restaurants like Maxim's in Causeway Bay. The place went through several ups and downs over the years, but has now found a sweet spot in Saigon's Chinese restaurant scene. Our favourite place for our Sunday "Yum Cha" (Dim Sum), and our choice this year again for our Lunar NewYear family reunion lunch. Book ahead ... it is popular.

Came here for dim sum. I’m used to Chinese dim sum in Northern California USA. This place was as good or better taste wise. Not as crowded but I came on a Monday afternoon. Everything we order was great. I can’t complain about anything. Service was good. The place was clean. Fast service

Had a great experience at this place on Christmas Eve with my family. Food is delicious. Service is excellent. Dinning area is huge and well ogranized. Highly recommend the reataurant both for locals and visitors in Ho Chi Minh city.

4.5 stars. Another great yum cha place in HCMC. Honestly, the dumplings are well crafted and full of fillings. Similarly, the rice paper rolls are also great but, in both instances, I think, the wrapping is a bit too thick which takes away from the texture and the fillings. Fried radish cake: S+, 8.5/10. Good opener. Crispy outside and soft inside. Congee: SS, 9/10. Would have appreciated some youtiao Chicken feet: SS, 9/10. Sauce was maybe a touch sweet? Pork spare ribs: B, 6/10. A let down. Dry, oily and a bit bland. Shark fin dumpling: S+, 8.5/10. Not very well versed in shark fin dishes but it overall was well balanced and delicious with multiple different textures Coconut bun: S+, 8.5/10. A little dry but actually really good for a free dessert
